    5 wings
    Tianna F.

I finally gave this place a try and unfortunately I wasn't that impressed. The chicken was fried good and the sauces were flavorful but to me It was pretty basic. Plus the chicken wings were huge. What I didn't like the most was the packaging. They just threw the wings in a paper bag. There was no proper container. You would think that they would have that for sauced wings. The building is small itself, so only about 3 - 4 people are able to enter at a time And parking is very limited.

Food good, but they continue to raise the prices! I can't go back here anymore, was good getting in the other day but for some food you have to sit in your car or go home and by the then it's not hot, it's too expensive.

Let me start out by saying this place is awesome!!! I was in town for a few days and in my few days I manage to check this spot 2 days in a row.....reason being...THE LEMON PEPPER WINGS !!! Omg the wings are fantastically awesome!!! The crunch, the size of rhe wings and the favor, truly outstanding. Oh I did get 2 flavors lemon pepper and hot honey wings. Don't get me wrong both were good but the lemon pepper is definitely the stand out!! As we headed home from DC everyone keep talking about how good these wings were ! The service is good to when we came in the next day we were greeted with a cherry hello from the worker behind the counter who must have recognition us from the day before....now that was cool. Try KoChix you will not be disappointed.

We were in the neighborhood for a concert and decided to try this place out for some wings. The place is a small restaurant but has that hidden gem feel to it. We ordered bulgogli and a chicken combo with garlic soy. Everything tasted pretty good . The service was good. I would try this place again .

Utterly surprised I don't already have a review for one of my fav spots in DC! Kochix is a locally-owned Korean fried chicken spot. This should become one of your regular spots for ordering out. Their drumsticks and wings are ginormous and delicious. My go-to orders are the 10 wings, half hot honey spicy and half honey lemon pepper. They're always nice and crisp and easily heated up for a future meal in my air fryer. I don't love their fries, but their onion rings are tasty. Even better are their corn nuggets! They're corn fritters with whole corn inside, a corn lovers dream lol This is a crowd pleaser as I've served them to friends and coworkers. Alas, there isn't really space to eat here aside from a short counter against a wall. It's located near the corner of Rhode Island and Florida, so not the most scenic corner of the city, but very much worth the trip or delivery order!

We placed a large group order online and when we went to pick up the order, it was all out of sorts. The staff there was very friendly, but they were a bit overwhelmed while I was there. They had lost one order and others were messed up. There is street parking available, that is relatively easy to find. This place is small and is strictly carryout. They serve Korean style wings, drumsticks, and sandwiches. I ordered 10 wings, with a side of fries. I got 5 hot honey spicy wings and 5 Honey Old-bay. My wings were decent, but I like my wings coated in their respective sauce. These wings were sporadically covered in sauce. Don't get me wrong, my wings were good and everyone like their food. I have just had much better wings at similar places. I will warn you that there is a bit of a wait here, as it is with most Korean Fired Chicken joints. All-in all this is a decent spot to get your KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) fix. Hopefully, they will coat their wings in sauce a bit better.

Hands down the best, crunchiest Korean fried chicken you'll ever have. I told my coworker about it and she calls it "crack chicken." lol. The crunch is unmatched and the flavors are so good. The honey lemon pepper and honey old bay are my go to options. The staff is super friendly. The first time I ate here I ordered a 10pc to try it out. Those wings didn't last at all. I finished em all before I even got to the Virginia state line. You will not be disappointed.

I really don't understand the hype. I walked in your typical hole in the wall and was immediately greeted. Instagram and the world HYPED these wings. I ordered 10 fried high ended up being $20. Shocked the heck outta me. The "ADMIN" fee really bothered me. I can only imagine if I had a larger order. The wings were much larger than one would expect, came out piping hot but overall AVERAGE. Lacked seasoning. Simple carry out wings. I opted out of the sauce and I could do without honey and soy sauce on chicken. Decent spot but to expensive for carry out wings to me.

Soy garlic & hot honey spicy
    Lauren C.

I got the 10 wings which came with two wing flavors. I opted for the soy garlic and hot honey spicy. The soy garlic was really good, I didn't care for the hot honey spicy, it was not spicy at all. The wings were quite large and I was stuffed after. The skin on the wings is super crispy just how I like mine. The service was very friendly and relatively quick. The inside is small with no seating and more of a to go restaurant.

These are the classic characteristics of traditional smoked chicken wings. The tenders on the other hand are good however not as crispy on the breading as I'd like. I believe they are trying to accomplish a soft breading which is OK however theirs is a different kind of soft breading resulting from the batter/flour and frying process. Borderline soggy. These tenders are very tender and would be exceptional if they'd change their flouring and frying technique. Overall a good chicken tenders that I'd purchase again when ordering chicken wings. I don't think I'd travel here exclusively for tenders. As far as sauces are concerned, I tried the Smokey Buffalo, Alabama White BBQ and Honey Mustard. Would like to have some traditional flavors available for the traditional palates. Overall a very good experience.

Look ladies and gentlemen cheaper does not always mean better, but I digress. The food came out surprisingly very fast which to me I had noticed with skepticism as there is a lot of processed type of meats here. The sandwich relies on a lot of bread, and cheese (brisket) with very think slices of meat, so it is like eating a grilled cheese sandwich. The potato salad had big chunks of pickles and even though I know potato salad at restaurants are not going to taste like homemade version a lot of the times, but still the level of attention to detail was missing a bit with chucks in the potato salad. There should be regular fries not just spicy and same with beans. The restaurant caters towards the White and foreign gentrification of the city by ignoring and distancing itself from the Black community of the city. The transient dollar always wins, as Shaw is the most intensively gentrified neighborhood in DC for good reason. I would personally stick with Mission BBQ and maybe Famous Daves chains, if you are not going to be a homemade pit master or cook yourself those ribs for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Sometimes you want to treat yourself from always cooking in the kitchen, but gosh can these places step their game up and stop selling out? What is next we will have raisins and fruit in our potato salad? I came in excited thinking this place was going to be amazing, but there needs to be a bit of improvement with the food quality. The bartender was friendly, personable, and had great energy which is a plus, but the take out experience was worst than mediocre. It is one of those one and done spots. I gave it a shot, but felt uneasy and disappointed, something just seemed off with the experience honestly here.

Remember the old TV show Cheers? That's the vibe. Everybody seems to know everybody. You head down those steep, borderline life-threatening stairs into this underground pub and immediately walk into organized chaos in the best way possible. The place was packed. After-work crews, regulars, friend groups, people eating, drinking, laughing, and minding everybody else's business all at the same time. It was LOUD loud. It took a while because this isn't the type of place where people eat and leave. Folks settle in, order another round, and stay for hours. Oh, the only thing was that we had to ask for water and it wasn't brought otherwise. It was a hot day, and there were 6 of us, so we needed a lot of water haha. But a simple ask and it was brought out quickly. In my opinion, they should do it automatically though!

We arrived at our hotel fairly late and the hotel restaurant was already closed. This place was…read morelocated directly across the street and was open super late. Perfect. I did not want to eat fried or super unhealthy food since it was late but this place looked like the best option. We decided to sit at the bar area right by the entrance since it was empty. It did not take long for the bartender to approach us and offered drinks. Hubs and I both ordered beers on tap, which were delivered not too long after we ordered. I was in the mood for wings and decided to go for the boneless option since hubs only likes those and I definitely was not going to finish. I also wanted a veggie option so I went with the veggie wrap. Hubs ordered the Tex-Mex eggrolls. Our food arrived at an appropriate time and was correct. The food was okay but not out of this world, which we were expecting. We both enjoyed the veggie wrap though. This place is a good option for watching sports and if they're open late. The place is also big in size.
