This restaurant is close to downtown Bellevue and the Bellevue Library. I usually come here during lunch time. It is usually busy during lunch time. The food is good and the Bento Box for sure will satisfy the hungry ones. I did not like to seat on the seats in front of the sushi man because it has not enough light specially in the winter. The waitress is always nice. The restaurant is clean. The restroom is located in a corridor where a lot of boxes are stored. I eat here about once every ten days or so. Will it earn a Michelin? Um, No. Is it a great value for hot meals? HELL YES! Overall the sushi, sashimi and rolls combined as a unit are a solid 4 star. I have always enjoyed going here. I feel like they have changed ownership a couple of times, but I have always been a big fan of their Kobe Tonkatsu. It's one of their signature dishes and it comes with miso soup that isn't overly salty. I like that they have happy hour after 4:30pm-11:00 PM it makes for a great place if you want to grab a nice cold beer, or sake. Plus they have some great sushi combos that they offer for happy hour. I didn't have high hopes because Kobe is under/inside? a hotel. I also am not typically a fan of the kind of Asian restaurant that operates on the generic café type food choices. AKA: they have some of everything, sushi, Chinese food, Korean food, pho, ramen etc. BUT the food was all delicious and very reasonably priced! I got an EXCELLENT spicy seafood udon soup. I highly recommend it if you are not afraid of little eyes floating in your spicy spicy broth with yummy slimy udon noodles. If you're slightly less adventurous there is something for everyone here. I got the spicy seafood udon, seaweed salad, and the vegetarian roll. The spicy seafood udon was big! Good portion and lots of seafood, but it was pretty spicy. Thankfully, I love spicy food but if you are only able to tolerate mild spiciness, I wouldn't recommend it. The seaweed salad was also really good. They didn't state what was in the veggie roll on the menu, but it had a lot of pickled vegetables, so it was pretty salty. Negatives: -very limited parking... I had to park in the Bellevue library and walk over -they only had two waitresses and they were extremely busy. forgot to give us our water when we sat down and it was hard to get their attention Overall, it was a decent restaurant, but I wouldn't go back again. I should have been more skeptical when I saw the free miso soup on top of my order that it was probably trying to distract me from the gross sushi and naked (no salt) Edamame. Got a spicy tuna roll and a salmon roll. Neither were rolled very well and the rolls were rather ricey (you know what I mean, far too much rice for a roll), and the rice was sweet... It was gross. Also the spicy tuna got it's spiciness from what seemed to be hot pepper flakes, which I definitely didn't love. It also comes with no-name, full-sodium soy sauce. No thanks. Sushi is pretty good, japanese food is also good, korean food is pretty yummy. SO... basically it's all pretty good. They have friendly, attentive, and pretty quick service and the price is pretty good for downtown bellevue area (they also take prime card for you microsofties). There were 10 of us, we all shared sushi and ordered a ton! (we're all pigs at heart) and the bill was under $200. The Japanese bentos have a lot of food and it's well worth it. Good luck finishing! If you order katsu curry, you should know that it's not Japanese curry, it's the Korean version, so I would say get something else. One of the main things I miss about Curry House in Hawaii is the katsu swimming in spicy Japanese curry.... yum! The ambiance is nice and they have TVs that usually have some sort of sporting event on, and another with some Korean music or something. I really want to go back for the Ramen Challenge. It's about 3L of ramen in a gigantic bowl. If you can finish down to the last drop of soup in 30 minutes, they will give you a $100 gift certificate to come back, if you fail you owe $20 for the giant bowl of food. They are also open late (11pm I think) so it's a good option if you're getting off really late or just bumming around and haven't made it to dinner earlier. I was there with a bunch of friends for dinner and they told the waitresses that it was my birthday. They lit candles and brought out a cake that my friends brought in addition to a homemade "orange bear" they made for me. Very sweet! I really like this place. I went during lunch time. They have a lunch menu that has a combination of sushi or ramen. The price is very reasonable, for example 4pcs cali roll+ 4 pcs of spicy tuna for about $5.50. Which is not a bad deal at all, not to mention the sushi rolls are pretty darn good. Also try their seafood udon, it's pretty spicy but it has a very good flavor to it. Their katsu rice plates are very good. My friend who is Korean told me that place has some pretty good Korean food so I trust him. The waiters and waitresses there are very friendly and helpful, they are so nice! They will split the checks for you if you need. I will definitely come back here for lunch when I get the chance. They also have something called the ramen challenge, where you have to finish a huge bowl of ramen with soup in 30 mins, they will give you a $100 gift card to their place. I work nearby Kobe restaurant and I'd say this is a solid place to go for lunch! During the prime lunch hours (between ~11:30am - 1pm) this place has the potential to be very crowded. The wait staff here is friendly and I've always gotten my food out pretty quickly. My favorite items here are the Tonkotsu Ramen and the Bento boxes (either the chicken katsu or teriyaki. It also comes with miso soup, a salad, california rolls and rice!) The one thing that I wished tasted better were the bamboo shoots that were part of the Tonkotsu ramen, they taste really odd in my opinion. Prices aren't bad either! read more

This place has a giant selection of Korean and Japanese food. I tried their rolls, tonkatsu and fried chicken for dinner. The ambiance is casual, they have several big screens playing and Korean music in the backdrop. The good: lots of things to try in their menu. Fresh fish in their sushi and flavors were on point! Their katsu and fried chicken were great, made really hot and crispy. Servers were friendly and attentive. Decent selection of sushi and rolls, katsu, etc. for a standard repertoire you can depend on and be very satisfied with the results. Tried their curry katsu here, was pretty good. The ramen isn't bad either. But not the best I've had. Portions are on the larger side, and many come with a small side salad or miso soup. I really like the special house sauce they use on the salad. The service is usually a bit on the slower side, and if in larger groups the food can take a while to come out. They also have an always happy hour, where you can get combination rolls (half one roll + half another roll) for slightly cheaper. They do have a giant ramen bowl eating challenge. It's like the size of 3-4 bowls of normal ramen, and you only have 30 minutes to eat it. I tried it one day just for fun, even if you fail it's a pretty good price for the amount of food. Though it's really hot and I burnt my tongue on the soup so I couldn't really taste much after ten minutes. read more

This is a Korean/Japanese restaurant so you can order both Korean street food type stuff (dduk bok ki, etc.) as well as Japanese food (ramen, kara age, etc.). They also have a lot of alcoholic drinks so you can drink some Korean or Japanese beer with your meal as you hang out with friends. A co worker suggested this place for good sushi. Well it did not disappoint! They had a huge menu, with a HUGE assortment of rolls. They even have some Chinese/Thai/Japanese choices for those who may not care for sushi. It took a good 30 minutes for everyone to peruse through all the options and come to a decision! I decided to have the Bento Box with the Korean Spicy Pork; which gives you 2 side choices (my husband chose the California roll and the spicy tuna roll) it also comes with miso soup, salad and rice... for only $16! We shared that and we also got a Vegas roll. Good quality sushi, and good flavors. My only complaint was the service. The girls were all nice and friendly, but when it came down to actual service, not so good. My friend got a Coke and he did not get any refills the entire time we were there (2 hours). I ordered hot Saki, but got cold Saki. When they came around we asked for the hot instead and they brought it out. We finished that, and my husband asked for another round. We never got it. But guess what, it made it to the bill! Of course we noticed when we were cashing out and we asked her to take it off, but it was too late so they just brought out a 2nd one. We just practically slammed it down because we were already done, and ready to head out. Oh well, Food gets a 4 and the overall service they are lucky to get a 2. Went to eat lunch around 1 on a weekday. There was a slight lunch crowd, but we were seated right away. We ordered two ice waters, curry katsu, and spicy seafood ramen. However the waitress seemed to have misheard our order and brought tea instead, which was no biggie. Each of our entree also came with a small salad, the dressing tasted so good! The curry katsu also came with a miso soup, taste just like any normal miso. The broth for the ramen was really good, not too spicy at all. There was plenty of seafood and the ramen was actually legit ramen. Not some cheap quality ones. That curry katsu was pretty good, I wish there was the option of making the curry spicy. The katsu was nice and crispy, you can cut the meat with just your spoon. I didn't really like the sauce, so I just dipped the katsu in my curry. Prices is average for the area, overall the dining experience was pretty good, but not a wow place for me. Parking was kind of hard to find, but there is street parking (2 hour limit). All fails you can park by the library (although technically you are not suppose to...shh! Don't tell!). read more

I came here one day looking for some good Japanese food. I walked from my hotel and boy was it hard to find. After wandering around all over I found it next to the courtyard hotel. For my first trip I had the hwe du bup. It was okay, though the amount of raw fish was minimal. The spicy sauce was also a bit too sweet. Service was okay though they gave me my receipt right after they served me my food. It kind of made me feel like they wanted to get rid of me right away even though the restaurant was rather empty. Even after this experience, I wanted miso ramen the next day. I was going to go to Ginza, but it was really cold & I didn't want to make the walk. Boy did I regret it. Though the bowl was large, it was not that good. The bowl was mostly made up of noodles with little else. The flavor was off. I also had a california & tuna roll which was pretty decent. This restaurant very quickly became my favorite place to eat! I came here twice and have loved it both times! Sushi is delicious! Try their baked mystery roll! Their fusion katsus are amazing, I ate every drop of the curry katsu, but the kimchi katsu is really amazing too. All the katsu dishes come with salad and miso and under $9 (yes dinner price!). Udon and ramen are both equally delicious, they have the right saltiness without being bland. Aside from the food, the service here is by far the nicest service I have ever had, and that's a big part why I now love this place. Everyone is always friendly and checking up on you, including the owner! He seems to really care that you enjoy your time there and the food. The two times we went there he personally brought cut up mochi ice cream with chocolate and whip (in a very pretty display) with little tooth picks like oranges and Chinese restaurants. Not sure if this is a everyday thing, but it's nice! As others have said there is a Ramen challenge where you have to 3 regular size bowls (which are huge) in $30 minutes. You win a $100 gift card to their restaurant or pay $20. They have all the winners and losers pictures on their wall, and the wall of shame doubles it by x20 times. My boyfriends cousin tried and became only the 2nd person to ever beat it with 4:23 seconds left! The bowl was humongous, it is not an easy challenge! But it's fun to watch! read more

Very good service but their food was just....... okay. Katsu Don with curry tasted very healthy... it tasted like something I could make at home (although it would have been a lot of hassle). Maybe this is their style, but yeah it tasted too healthy... I was craving for some crispy, salty, oily katsu don covered in MSG-y Japanese curry... instead, what I got was crispy, lightly breaded, lean pork meat and watery (flavor-less) curry with lots of cut up carrots. We also ordered the ramyun and it was just not... good. Compared to other ramyun options we have now in Bellevue, this place needs to step it up. Their service was great. 1.) Location (3.5/5) - It's quite close to my workplace, and conveniently close to nearby Apartments, hotel, and library as well. It's not on the center of downtown Bellevue, but it works. 2.) Environment (3/5) - It's quite a small place, almost just as big as an average beauty parlor interior, not more than 50 seatings, but there definitely are a lot of customers eating in. 3.) Food preparation (4.5/5) - Well, I've seen it, a few Months ago I left this spot unranked, but now I've decided to say that their food is Art. Basing on how accurately cut the toppings for the Tonkatsu Ramen I recently ordered, they must have great culinary artists over there. 4.) Food taste (4/5) - To be genuinely sure that the food is authentically traditional, you have to actually have to try the food made in the most traditional 'Shokuhin no Ie' (food house?) in Japan. I haven't had a traditional meal in Japan, but so far I have no qualms on how it tastes, it's very filling, too - they put quite a decent amount of food in there. 5.) Price (4/5) - The price for a small amount of Sushi before was kind of high, but most of the food there (well at least, as of now) are quite cheap. It's less than $10 now for the Tonkatsu Ramen I just ordered, and weighs approximately 1 1/2 to 2 pounds. 6.) Employees (4/5) - Very nice and friendly receptionists/waitresses (cute too), as well as the cooks there are n1ice. The first time i came here was for sushi, which was delicious! Afterwards, since the lunch was so good, i thought that i would try some other dishes. I normally get their chicken Pad Thai and boy is it GOOD! Love coming here because: they have good prices, quality meals, a large selection from sushi to hot pots to noodles and more, the customer service is always very friendly and they are very quick to prepare and serve my orders, whether in-restaurant or to-go. Their place is very cozy and well decorated but personally what has me sold is the customer service and that whatever i order is always absolutely delicious! Kobe Sushi may be known for its sushi bar; however, it also serves up some wonderful sweet and sour chicken meals! Recently had their lunch special and for just over $10.00 received a great portion size of very fresh and flavorful Sweet and Sour Chicken, two large scoops of rice, a small side salad and a cup of soup. Not a bad value. The staff was working very hard during a lunch rush, everyone was polite. The chicken had a good amount of chicken in it, unlike other places where it is all breading. This is a wonderful place to grab lunch in Bellevue that I would recommend to others. It is also a great place to grab a meal if you are staying at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel. read more
