I told them about having humidity issues so guess what... They did the opposite of what should have been done. They installed a larger unit. Plus $2k in IAQ products that were very low quality. Plenums were poorly made, coil was damaged, emergency heat never worked, defrost never worked, Return duct was pinched. Very disappointed with this company. $17k down the drain. read more

very unprofessional air conditioning and heating business. They broke all kinds of promises and said that any issues we were having, would get taken care of before all was said and done. But because they could never figure out the problem after installing two full units themselves, they just gave up on us. they obviously installed it wrong, but didn't want to take responsibility. they weren't gonna come back anymore I guess, if they couldn't charge me again. Even though it all should've been under warranty. They even got me to join their discount club, only to find out that it didn't cover everything they initially promised. All of the YES! Let me first get this out of the way, and say that never, in my all years of dealing with companies and contractors at our home, have we had customer service like this. Koala Cooling delivered what other companies wish they could. Michelle, I'm not sure of her title, but maybe the area manager, has been an absolute god send and she got sh!t done!!! We had a foundation repair (not with Koala), and ended up needing a plumbing inspection after it was finished, to certify our warranty. So Koala is sent to us by our foundation repair company (we did not choose them to start), and Daniel was the first person we met. And let me say, we would absolutely invite Daniel to our home for dinner anytime! He was probably THE nicest, most down to earth, "real" person. He was so respectful of our home, our time, and our wishes. We ended up needing a pretty significant repair done, requiring major construction. While the work crew that came out, who was contracted through Koala was not stellar, and caused some damage to our property, Koala took the heat for it and made everything right. It wasn't Koalas fault, but they took responsibility and made sure that we were happy. Everyone followed up with us, and communicated. Each time one of their team members would call, it was like talking to a friend. Every single person was truly genuine and kind, caring, and paid attention to every detail. I really felt that their prices were fair, considering the large scope of work that had to be done. If we need any service again in the future, which, I'm sure we will, I would ABSOLUTELY call Koala. We've been through the ringer on home repairs and upgrades, and Koala was hands down the least painful company to work with. Also, their truck is so stinkin cute I didn't mind it being in the driveway, and next time we need them, I might have to hit them up for a koala shirt! But in all seriousness, we are so pleased with their work quality, their communication, their friendliness and attentiveness, that I can't recommended them enough! read more

I have used Koala services for my AC unit for a few years and have always been satisfied. On March 7, 2024, 2 service people, Amanda Nations and Kyle Krause, came to my residence to do the twice a year check of my AC unit. They took photos of problems and suggested remedies, along with the charges. They thoroughly explained what they could do and did not pressure me to take any of their suggestions. After their explanations, I picked the work I wanted done and asked if they could do the repairs that day. They immediately went to their office to gather some materials and completed the job within 4 hours. These two workers did the job efficiently, quietly and courteously. They install our new AC unit last year and came by for the check up. Very pleasant, knowledgeable technician. He recommended we install the surge protector to help prevent lightning damage. He also recommended we have installed a device to help the compressor start. We had him install both. One thing I wondered about was the device to help the compressor start. If this device is is helps the compressor when it wasn't it installed by the manufacturer? read more

True story. Four years ago we replaced our home's entire HVAC system with a brand new Champion system that came with a 10 year parts AND LABOR warranty. The labor warranty was the main factor in our decision to go with Champion. A week ago the system stopped cooling. The company that installed it is now out of business. We called a half dozen companies to repair the system but no one would touch it. Apparently Champion has a reputation for problems and for trimming warranty repair bills. The local distributor has discontinued selling Champion systems. Then we called Koala. They sent Robert who has tackled the repair like a bulldog. Champion would not authorize replacement of the outdoor unit which required Robert to perform a long and tedious repair. But he stuck with it to the end. Bottom line: Koala helped us when no one else would, knowing they were dealing with an unhelpful manufacturer, and knowing they would take a haircut on the bill at the end of the day. What a great experience I had working with this company!! I contacted them late on a Friday evening due to a frozen coil and what I presumed was a clogged drain line. Stacy worked with me over the phone on a "how-to" to defrost the coil while the tech was in route. Robert arrived around 8:30 PM...yes PM!! He did exactly what was needed to get my home cooled back down. He educated me on the maintenance items I could do going forward to prevent future clogs and well as giving my A/C system the full once over. I can not say enough good things about this company. Koala cooling, Kyle-superVisor 2019, blamed us the next day due to flooding attic and garage after previous day install. We woke up to flooding garage and attic. I called Kyle frantic. His first words upon walking into our garage was, 'WHAT DID YOU DO?'. Then when he looked into the attic, he shouted, 'Did yall come up here and pull these pipes apart?'. Kyle took the pipes without our consent and put them in his truck, then he stole our big industrial black dustpan. They actually blamed us for the flooding. Scott Fellar didnt apologize, and said no big deal, and swept it under the rug. Now, currently Scott Fellar has refuse to honor the 10 year free labor contract, and deleted my koala cooling account, and will not refund this years' 2022, debits. Kyle refuses to return the stolen items. Koala just wanted to make the sale in 2019 when they were starting business and gave me a written free labor contract that they are not honoring. I think thats called Unfair Business Practices. and in March 2022, Koala GM! Tony McDow the GM cold called me last week, hollering at me, hanging up and calling back, and not allowing me to speak, saying he is rescending the 10 year labor contract from 2019. Koala cant get their software to work for years and double charged me for two years, no apology. We produced a 10 year free labor contract from SCOTT FELLAR, AND THEY GOT SO MAD and just totally said to GET someone else, reneging on the contract. TDLR I understand is licensing agency, AND I think this is possibly a violation. At any rate please report to TDLR if you have these issues with Koala Cooling. Please beware of wolves in sheeps clothing like Koala Cooling and Kanga Roofing, same owner, Scott Fellar. They do not give honor to God, and merely lie to a get a sale. Please help us. Unfortunately our AC went out but we knew we were on borrowed time as the old unit was pushing 20 yrs old. Koala has been amazing. They even came out and tried to get the old unit to run until they could install the new one. Scott, Renee, Kyle and Christian were awesome to work with. Kyle and Christian installed our unit and were always very professional, on time, and very personal. The unit is running great and I know Koala will stand behind their work. Robert and Kyle did an excellent job of replacing one of my AC units. The old unit had quit cooling and when Robert and Michael looked at the old unit, replacement was really the best option. All Koala Cooling technicians that worked on this unit displayed impressive technical knowledge and professionalism. Installing the new unit was complicated but all the work was completed in one day with the new unit up and running. They did a great job of cleaning up afterwards, we could barely tell they had been there! Great Job! read more

DO NOT let these guys get ahold of your wallet! When the tech showed up (late, but he did call) he brought a laminated book about their transparent pricing and policies. He wanted to sign me up for some $10/mo club that'll take 20% off my repair bill. I will say all the pricing is laid out in front of you but he skims so fast you don't pay close attention because you don't know what you need yet. Just for him to show up was $90. I was pretty sure I just needed my drain line blown clear. I figured since that was labor only, it'd be in the price of him being there. NOPE! Just to blow a line costs an EXTRA $210. He told me my external unit needed a capacitor. A common problem. He pulled the transparent book out and showed me it cost 421. I said "cents?" Mind you, in the age of the internet you can look up the cost of anything on your smart phone while standing in the backyard. This capacitor can be purchased for $20! It can be gotten on Amazon or several retailers here in Georgetown. I can see charging up to $40 for it cuz he had it on him, but $421?! That's 2,300% markup. Then he tried to sell me the Koala membership to save 20%. So $421, + $210, + $90 service call = $721! Next day I went to the store and bought the same brand capacitor, and a pump to blow the lines for about $56. They should rename this company Koala Cleaning, cuz that's what they'll do to your wallet. About 5 years ago I needed service sans the capacitor and it cost me $60. Unfortunately I forgot the name of that good company. Only thing I can say nice about was the tech. Very friendly. But he should've gone to acting school; the way he kept a straight face when he said 421. I got an email link to review him and them later. "How'd we do?" I clicked the link but didn't have time to fill it out so I closed it for later. Next day I get an email saying "thanks for leaving a great review!" What?! I did no such thing. So some reviews on their site are probably phony. I can't prove this though. This company also owns Kanga Roof. I have no experience with their roofing so take that at face value.
