I must say the first time I had this place I wasn't impressed. That was a couple years ago. I just had their wings again and omg am I impressed. Not only are the wings amazing but the sauce is more than up to par as well. The buffalo had a nice kick as well as good flavor and roundness. I stood at the end of the bar, the bartender saw me come in & ignored me to keep speaking to a guy, then finished conversation & walked away, leaving me there. I was in town from Chicago for a football game. This place was close to the hotel a group of friends and I were staying at so we stopped in. Service was great, cheap drinks (very cheap for Chicago standards), and shuffleboard! We hit up a couple of bars around the area the next night and ended up going back to Nats. This is a great bar for escaping the crowds that are prevalent at most downtown bars. They have free popcorn you can serve yourself, although the couple of times I've been there it has been somewhat bland. The best part about Nats are the drinks, which are exactly as I like them: cheap and strong! They have a couple of dart boards in the back which are great for entertainment. They weren't kidding about their infamous smoked wings!!! They were amazing and a lot healthier for you than the fried wings. I workout very close to this place and it is nice to go grab a drink afterwards or get some awesome protein (wings). They have this XXXhot sauce they put in cups. (Side note: sauces are placed in cups and not on the wings itself. I bet if you ask, they can pour it on there. Anyway, the hot sauce was tasty with a good amount of heat. Bree and the other bartender were very wary of me dipping my whole wing in the sauce and taking a nice chunk out of the wing. ha ha they were like, "wait!!!! Don't kill yourself!!" For the place itself, it is a nice CLEAN hole in the wall. Almost has a woman's touch which, I believe, make women feel more comfortable here. I felt like a regular in a short time, talking to them easily and laughing with them. I will definitely come back again. Look, read the reviews, I am not telling you anything new. However I will confirm these wings are great. I went there after dinner at the insistence of a friend to have some wings, yes after dinner. We got there after 10 on a super hot night and it was hot in the bar, but virtually every seat was taken and literally everyone had a beer and was crushing wings. I had heard that this place was the best wings in the city. I would have to disagree. If you like grilled charcoal flavored wings then I guess this is the place to go. I was not impressed and the wings a were mediocre at best. I ordered fries with my wings and towards the end of basket it was this weird smell to them that almost made me vomit and I couldn't even finish the fries. Weird right! Nice atmosphere, but the music was a little too loud. Service was confusing, had to order from the bar, but was served at our table only when they felt like asking. Wouldn't order any food here though. I had the Philly steak sandwich with the beef brisket which was SUPER dry and it had mushy spinach on it that tasted like it sat in water for a day or two. My husband ordered "the famous wings" and was not impressed. The seasoning was over powering and was probably undercooked. His intestines were on fire the next day and was in the bathroom at least a half a dozen of times wishing he could curl up on a ball and die. Came here on a snowy Sunday afternoon. Place was packed. Did not eat, but food looked good as most were eating wings with their drinks. Great drink prices. Had a 24oz PBR tall boy which came with a coozie for $6. Friendly staff and crowd. Will definitely go back and will try the wings. read more

Place a to go order. Yet to our dismay the prices online were not the same as the current prices. Upon getting there the bartender was less than lackluster and unwilling to even be apologetic about the pricing being wrong. Instead she stated perhaps you should come back when wings are half-price on Mondays. And she didn't even offer to discount anything despite the price of the wings being almost double what they were on the online menu. The wings were okay a little fatty and undercooked with less than enough sauce. Also have heard from others that they are very very unfriendly which is why I chose not to go inside and eat but to get carry out. Perhaps they should spend the money they're charging on the wings to update their website prices after all wings are served everywhere. Will never go back or recommend this place read more

I know I'm probably in the minority here but I didn't love their wings. I heard so many things about how they were the best wings in the city and always wanted to go but I can't because of my daughter so we placed a to-go order for an order of honey barbecue in order of mild. I parked the car with her in it and ran inside to give it. They were okay as far as busyness not slammed but it was like 3 in the afternoon so they did have a bar full of people. and I sat there and sat there and sat there then finally I just said hey I really need to get my food because my daughter's outside. They were me and they just weren't overly friendly. They knew I was standing there waiting for food and they really didn't care. no one to the food we got home and tried to eat the wings and they were so freaking spicy! Honey barbecue and my old Dash there were so hot my daughter's mouth turned red and she started crying. I ate two of them and I had to deal I click the ranch because it was so freaking hot. Either they gave us the wrong wings or that's just how they are which is kind of ridiculous. We ate maybe three wings out of the entire order and threw it away. so for me and no they do not have the best wings in Cincinnati OH, they barely had Edible Ones. If you love spice you may like this place, I however don't want spicy food so it was a pass for me. read more

I've only ever come here for a few beers and to watch some bball, etc. It's great if you accept it for what's it is: a dive bar where you can easily enjoy some games with a side of beers and shuffleboard. Classic neighborhood bar feel in the heart of downtown with a nice selection of beer plus free popcorn with a wall of hot sauces to spice up your night. In a strange turn of events, I spent two consecutive nights here. One week night, this place had a welcoming regulars-only feel with a few locals warming the seats. On the next weekend night, this place was packed with everyone from the 20-something getting a few cheap drinks in to a wedding party. Great hole in the wall bar in Downtown Cincy. Not a lot of frills, only one beer on tap (which is usually a different beer every month), but there is a decent beer and liquor selection. They also run some pretty good specials. The bartenders are also very friendly. They do have a pretty standard bar menu, not sure if I would go there for dinner, but there are some good options to snack on while you are having some drinks. They have lots of classic rock and movie memorabilia and images decorating the bar. If you are looking for a bar downtown that doesn't have a club atmosphere, this is the place to go. read more

Typical dive bar with a great sports atmosphere and had two distinct areas... one with the main bar and the other side with a more lowkey bar and tables to eat at. We sat on the latter side. I was told twice by two different locals to try the wings. GLAD I DID! They smoke them and have a variety of good flavors to choose from. So, so tender. Yelp needs to create the category, "neighborhood bar", because that is exactly what Nats is, as opposed to a dive bar. Nats is a thin place with a long bar along the eastern wall, some high tables towards the rear on the left. Strong drinks and good sandwiches, with the offer to add a fried egg to any sandwich (note: it's not runny). Easygoing crowd and enough TVs to watch the game. Basically a bar your dad would enjoy grabbing a beer and a sandwich. With less than a block between Nats & Madonnas, Cincinnati has a couple great bars within walking distance of most everything. read more
