The Knife & Fork Inn Dinner $77-a steal
Kal L.

Thank you Alessandra for accommodating us at the last minute on a very busy Saturday evening-especially without having a reservation and still giving us one of the best seats. This place fills up incredibly fast on weekends so reservations are highly encouraged. The Knife & Fork Inn is an AC institution with a colorful history and the experience lives up to its reputation. Perfect for date nights, family dinners, or special occasions. The atmosphere is warm and classic without being stuffy. The jalapeño mint granita served with the chilled oysters was heavily and such a standout touch. The Knife & Fork Inn Dinner set is an absolute steal at $77 and easily fed 2 of us. Don't skip the complimentary bread: the cranberry walnut bread was our favorite.

Banana cream pie

I have been hearing about this place forever, and finally had a chance to go see what all the talk was about. It's April so it wasn't that busy. My sister in law loved the halibut saying it was one of the best she ever had. The salmon was also perfectly prepared. The seafood risotto was packed with shrimp, scallops and crab. There was enough for two more meals . I really enjoyed the French onion soup..Tony was very patient with all our questions and gave good advice on his favorite foods. The banana cream pie was the best!

Have been here before and I am never disappointed! No complaints about the steak or sides. The high roller Manhattan is slightly on the sweeter side. Hands down the best Manhattan I've ever had.

What a nice spot in Atlantic City! I stopped by for dinner on a Saturday night and boy oh boy is it busy! You'll definitely want a reservation for this spot. There is valet and a little bit of self parking for cars but plan accordingly as it is a small parking lot. My server, Elizabeth, was incredible. Super nice, matched the chill vibe I was emitting, and was very on top of service. Food was excellent- loved the lobster bisque (though I do prefer my bisque a bit creamier) and the salmon was an absolute delight. The restaurant is quite cozy but it can get quite loud (just something to keep in mind if you are booking.)

We could only get a 4pm reservation so we snatched it up. The bar and second floor were packed when we arrived. They have a small lot and valet parking. The restaurant is a large old house. You have to walk up the stairs to get to the floor you're dining on. We were taken up to the 4th floor and had a great view of the ocean. Omar, our waiter and everyone who helped us were great. Drinks are reasonably priced. They had a good wine list at $12 a glass. We started with the calamari- light and crispy and not chewy at all. Sliders were medium rare with cheese and onions. Everyone loved the thick cut bacon and Cesar salad. We ordered multiple filets and the pork chop for dinner. The filet comes with broccolini. They were cooked to perfection! Mashed potatoes, onions rings, carrots, crispy beans and oysters exceeded our expectations. It's not listed on the menu but they will make a plate for the kids too! We had no room for dessert but wish we did. This was a great experience overall from beginning to end!

Came in from Brigantine for dinner last Sunday night. The restaurant has valet which makes driving there a breeze. We didn't have to wait long for our reservation. The dining room upstairs has a very old medieval vibe. It was an eclectic crowd dining there. Carmen, our server, was very friendly and helped make menu and drink recommendations. We each had a bowl of soup to start. My husband said the french onion was one of the best he had. I enjoyed my corn & crab chowder. For mains, I went with the halibut per my servers recommendation. Unfortunately, the dish missed the mark. It came out cold and rubbery./ tough - it was clearly overcooked and then sat there for a while before being served. I sent it back and even after it came back out 5 minutes later warmed up, it still didn't taste very good. My husband's dish on the other hand came out nice and warm and he thoroughly enjoyed the short rib. We also got the fried green beans as a side - tasty and a huge portion. All in all, it was a mixed experience. I'd probably give this place another try if I was in the area in the future and order meat.

Nice elegant restaurant, right inside of an old Inn. This establishment really makes you feel like you're dining in an old home. Their menu is mid-high price but the food is amazing. The waitress was helpful in explaining the menu to us. After our meal was completed, they offered dessert. Since we felt at home and the menu offered a variety, we each chose something off the menu. I also had an americano as well. The meal was very filling for the price.

Lobster Bisque
Eric K.

Amazing atmosphere, complimentary valet parking and very attentive service. Excellent preparation of steak and lamb! The onion rings (yes- onion rings) were addictive, the seafood risotto was outstanding and the lobster bisque was amazing. They have an extensive wine list and excellent cocktails. The dining room was cozy but a little loud. I would deduct a half a star if I could, but only because the restrooms were a little small and the stairs were a little hard to navigate. There is no kids menu here, but if you have a picky eater the sliders were good.

Knife & Fork Inn is a steak and seafood restaurant located on Atlantic Ave. in Atlantic City. They are open Sun - Thu 4PM - 9:30PM, Fri 11:30AM - 10PM, and Sat 4PM - 10PM. Reservations required. My friends and I stopped in for dinner last Friday night for the first time. We had an 8:00 reservation and were greeted with a warm welcome and seated right away. We started with the cornmeal crusted calamari, which was fried to perfection. It came with pickled peppers and a delicious Calabrian chili aioli. For my entree, I ordered the Knife & Fork Inn Dinner, which includes corn and crab chowder, a Jersey tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, a 1-pound lobster Thermidor, and an 8-ounce filet mignon, all for $76. The chowder was sweet and succulent, the mozzarella was fresh and flavorful, the lobster was decadent, and the filet was juicy and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Everything was absolutely amazing! My friends ordered the seafood risotto and the filet mignon, and they both loved their meals. The risotto is made with shrimp, crab, scallops, asparagus, and mushrooms. I had a few bites and completely agree, it's fantastic! Our service was just as impressive as the food. Wilson was personable and professional, and he made sure our first experience was a memorable one. 10/10! Made a reservation for a Saturday night. The place was crowded, but our table was ready. Carmen took good care of us. We sat upstairs in the dining room. We each had a drink and we were pleased with the bartender's efforts. We had a wedge salad and lobster bisque as starters. My wife got the lamb chops and I got the 12oz sirlion (mid rare). The mashed potatoes and beer battered string beans were delicious sides. We needed to take food home because the portions are large. We finished with coffee and figgy sticky pudding. I recommend Knife and Fork to anyone traveling to AC.

This place is a neighborhood establishment that has been around for years. The building is old and huge. Seating is set up on three floors of the building so if you have mobility issues, be sure to tell them when you make a rez. The three salads we had we huge and delicious. We had the beet salad, a ceasar and an arugula. Not one disappointed. We also had the French onion soup, which was tasty and cheesy. The crabcake was large, fresh and had almost no filling. It was just jumbo crab meat. The seafood risotto had shrimp, scallops and crab. It was creamy and really tasty. The winner of the night was the surf and turf. The lobster tail was cooked to the perfect temp. It was buttery and soft and absolutely fabulous. The filet was also cooked to perfection, seasoned to the T and melted in your mouth like butter. Our waitress was top notch. She was attentive, friendly and engaging. This place is a definite go to if you're in the area. Just wow.

Parmesan Brussels Sprouts

Came for dinner while In town. Sat right down and service was good. Old steak house feel with good ambience. Service was very good. A la carte menu. Shared a Ceaser salad, 16 oz Sirloin steak, heart potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Salad and sides were a 5. The steak for $58 was a 3 at best. Definitely not a steak you would see at a higher end steak restaurant but more like at an Outback. So overall 4 stars.

Cowboy steak

My husband and I came here for a Thursday night dinner while in town. I wish we were seated upstairs as it is a beautiful old building with a unique charm! People were sitting at the beautiful bar watching football as the ambiance of the whole place feels like a storybook-- warm and cozy. There were couples on date night and also large groups.... We didn't see any kids since it was a later dinner. The Duck Confit was cooked to perfection and it was melt in your mouth delicious. The Seafood Risotto was also cooked to perfection with generous helping of tender seafood. My husband enjoyed his cowboy steak and while we didn't have to have the green beans side because the portions are so generous, it was not a disappointment with its crunch and savory complement to the meal! Our waiter was helpful, attentive, and personable. The place was crowded for a random Thursday so reservations are a must. We will be coming back and hopefully will be seated in the second floor.

I found this place and tried to make a reservation. It did take awhile to get through, I think they answered when I called like 10 or 11:00 on a Monday morning. I was happy I got a decent time though, I asked for 7:30 and they gave me 8:00. Once we got to AC I found out they had fireworks at 9:00. So I was like I don't know what to do. Cause I love fireworks I always try to see them when I can . But I didn't want to give up my reservation either , I was looking forward to it. So I tried calling every 5 minutes trying to get through to see if i could get an earlier reservation, even if we have to eat at like 4:30. I couldn't ready anyone though. So we were plotting what we were going to do, maybe tell them we wanted to eat fast, get our food to go? I was going to run out the back and try to catch them. I said let's just go to the restaurant earlier and try to get a table. We explained when we got there and they were packed , but they were very accommodating and gave us a table right by the window. I was happy that now we could relax and enjoy our meal and get drinks and an appetizer. We got the meatball appetizer because my husband always likes to get that. It was very good , prob one of the best meatballs I have ever had. I got the seafood pasta which was delicious. great flavor , the seafood was cooked perfectly, and a generous amount too. I was stuffed but ate everything. my husband got the veal rollatini which he really enjoyed also. The cocktails were great as well. We got dessert Togo because we were stuffed but really wanted it. The chocolate chip cheesecake was delicious. I think we got the tiramisu too which was ok but a little watery. I don't know if we'll be back in AC anytime soon, but if we do I would definitely want to come back!

An empty parking lot and only two diners in a large dining area is never a good sign but the server was "friendly" (Fitting for a location that once housed a Friendly's ice cream restaurant.). In fact there is no lunch menu and the prices sort of jump at your eyes because they are so much more appropriate for an evening out. Perhaps the empty dining room fills up with patrons later in the day. So, I went with Pho. Flank steak, vermicelli rice noodles, and please all the veggies (Why ask?). The moment we walked into the restaurant, the host asked us if we had ever been there, and had us look over the menu before being seated. A little weird, but after seeing the menu cost, I get it a little bit. The waitress we had did a great job at explaining how they usually have people follow the 3 course plan and that the dishes are all family style, and what order dishes would come out and even recommended some dishes when we were stuck on a choice. The waitress was so sweet and attentive, without being overbearing, which I really appreciated. The people bussing the food made me laugh though, as they would drop the food, tell you quickly was it was, tell you "Enjoy!" then basically sprint off. The restaurant was pretty full, and we got seated in the back near to the windowed area, which was nice. I assume in the daytime there's a lovely view of the beach, but at night all you can see is the Rainforest Cafe sign next door. It We got the avocado tartare to start. It was certainly unique and I really enjoyed the flavor profile! It was zesty but with spice to it, and blended well with the smoothness of the avocado. The spice was wasabi, it cooled off quickly after a few sips of my drink. The tempura we had was an interesting blend of vegetables, but it really wasn't anything to write home about. It tastes like pretty much any other tempura you can get at a nice Japanese restaurant. The teriyaki chicken was the star of the meal. Perfectly cooked, with wonderful moist meat but perfectly crisped skin, it was well worth the high price we paid. The Chestnut Cheesecake was insanely good as well. The cheesecake was absolutely tiny, but it was so well made that the high price was worth it. We ate it so slowly just savoring every bite because it was that good. The prices were very high, but as this is Atlantic City, we fully expected it. All in all, a very nice dinner!

By the time we sat down, we were tired enough to believe in luxury again. All three of us ordered the $150 Omakase, because sometimes you need to let someone else make the decisions. We also each ordered a Lychee Elderflower Martini, and that drink was a revelation. Sweet but not syrupy, smooth as silk, and served with quiet confidence. It was, without question, the highlight of the night. That is not to say the food disappointed. The fish was fresh and handled with skill. Every plate was a small work of art. But I've eaten many Omakase meals before, and this one didn't quite live up to its reputation or its price. Each course was good, even very good, but never transcendent. It felt like a performance slightly off its rhythm. Service was attentive and professional, almost to a fault. Our server explained each dish in the kind of detail that makes you wish you'd taken notes, yet when we asked follow-up questions, the answers grew vague, like the end of a story that someone forgot to finish. The dining room itself was clean and modern, full of light and shadow, a careful blend of minimalism and excess. Still, it was oddly loud, even though the place was mostly empty. The windows looked out toward the boardwalk and the Atlantic Ocean, but the glass was streaked and dirty, muting the view into something almost symbolic. Beauty, slightly obscured. Here's the truth. In Atlantic City, this is probably as good as sushi gets. The meal was enjoyable, even memorable in moments. But there are sushi locations in the Tri-state area that perform the same act with greater precision and heart. If you are here already, go. You will eat well. But if you have the choice, there are better temples to fish elsewhere. I give it four stars out of respect, and maybe habit. Three and a half would be closer to the truth.
