A lunch stop on the way to California. Typical Kneaders restaurant in terms of decor and atmosphere. It was noon and there was a line to order, which we expected. As we watched the behind the scenes of taking orders, putting orders together, etc. it appeared to be a bit disorganized and harried. I ordered the Classic Turkey (1/2 sandwich with soup)combo meal with plain chips and an ice tea. Paid and made my way over to get ice and tea. No ice and as I went up to the counter to let them know, several other customers were yelling from the soda machine that there wasn't any ice. It got a tad crazy but the staff handled it well, saying the machine was broke and to bring cups back to them and they would fill from behind the counter. My question to one of them was...knowing that the ice machine is broke, how come you aren't handing out cups full of ice to begin with...my question was met with a look and an attitude. Ok, let it go! I have to say, I do love the turkey sandwiches at Kneaders because they use real, not processed turkey breast on their sandwiches. Came with provolone, cheese and lettuce sans any kind of mayo or dressing. Had to ask for a side of mayo to spread on the sandwich. I had the Cheddar Broccoli soup, which was good and flavorful. Full of chopped broccoli and carrots. I also ordered a Double Peanut Butter cookie to take on the road. Overall, an ok experience. Friend had ordered one of the eclairs and when it was delivered, it was so small! Came in for the first time for a quick work lunch. I have never been to a Kneaders so didn't know what to expect. When we entered I was very underwhelmed. The place wasnt very tidy and a little dirty I thought. I eat at alot of gourmet sandwhich shops so they do take longer but felt like the wait just to have our order taken took a bit. It is order at counter and they have a drive up window. Seems like alot to take on making people in their cars wait and people at the counter wait. We each ordered half sand half soup. The Tomato soup was very good and the sandwhich was fine although nothing exceptional. Bright spot. The server that took our order was lovely. She was apologetic for the wait and checked in on us after sitting. I think Kneaders is prob fine but know there are other options in Yuma to get a good , timely meal! read more

When Kneaders grows up puts aside its frivolous ways, it will blossom into a beautiful Panera. That is how I perceive Kneaders. We stopped by on an ill-fated Sunday morning. I ordered the so-called Italian omelet and a cup of coffee. My fiancée ordered a breakfast sandwich and a latte. The espresso machine was down (of course), so our cashier offered a coffee drink with syrup. It was a friendly offer, but it tasted terrible. For that matter, my coffee wasn't good either. The food was worse. My omelet was a far cry from the real thing; it looked like an egg pancake with a smattering of ingredients. The sandwich, however edible, was served with a cup of fruit that appeared days old. Inconceivably, we ordered a carrot cake and chocolate mousse to go. We've been watching a lot of "The Great British Baking Show" lately, and in the absence of a patisserie in Yuma, we dared try Kneaders' baked goods. Honestly, they weren't too bad, but they were bizarrely packaged in to-go cups. Do you guys not have containers? Got 6 heart cookies and 6 chocolate chip cookies. Both of the cookies were nothing special (and actually lacked a bit of flavor). We did get a veggie sandwich for the road which was tasty. Not sure we'd return if we didn't have a gift card, but it was decent food (and free for us). But the French Toast at the finish line of the Mesa PHX Marathon (and the caramel dipping sauce) is AMAZEBALLS! Worth running the race alone! read more

These guys make a really good loaf of bread. They make good sandwiches and have a bunch of baked goods for your choosing. I'd say they are comparable to Panera and they even have a rewards program. The place is usually pretty busy around lunch and you should expect a small wait around 10-15. The sandwiches are good, I've tried a few different sandwiches and, for me, the best part is usually the bread. The bread has a nice crunch around the outside of the loaf with a nice soft, smooth texture. I tried the chicken soup and it was alright. The service has always been friendly and polite. Overall it's a decent sandwich with very good bread. They also bake up a couple sample loaves for your tasting pleasure and I recommend tasting whatever they've got available. read more

The carrot cake was good but the icing was a little too sweet for us. Just a personal preference. The lemon tarts and mixed fruit tarts are heavenly and not too sweet at all. Perfect! I love the turkey sandwiches, they are the best. I also love the kneaders sauce and I always order and pay for extra. Even after I call the store and advise that I have ordered and paid extra for the sauce I NEVER seem to get it. Nothing aggravates me more than not to have enough of the sauce to go on the sandwich. Then I call and all I get is offered a loaf of bread. I dont want the bread I want the sauce to go on my sandwich. I just dont understand what it takes to make these employee's read the ticket and/or follow through when you call. Guess they are just there to make a quik buck. I'm not one to write about chains but since I was visiting Arizona for the weekend, I might as well. Kneaders is similar to a Panera. However, I would prefer a Panera At Kneaders, they go for a "get to know you ambience" where the waiters call out your name and deliver the food to you. Though nice, it must be crazy during rush hour. Or if two people had the same names; that would be confusing. I had trouble hearing the names, which required me to be constantly alert, hoping they don't pass me when my name is called. We waited about 30-40 minutes for the food, even though it wasn't very crowded. If you are in a hurry, this may not be a good dining option. The food was okay. I got a tuna sandwich with avocado. It was quite pricey for the amount and quality. I honestly have had better. It definitely is a healthier option compared to a fast-food place but is still just mediocre food. There is a drive-thru line, and I would've used it but it was very long when I went. It seemed to be moving very slowly as well, so I wouldn't recommend using the drive-thru. read more
