    Turkey Sandwich
    Barb G.

A lunch stop on the way to California. Typical Kneaders restaurant in terms of decor and atmosphere. It was noon and there was a line to order, which we expected. As we watched the behind the scenes of taking orders, putting orders together, etc. it appeared to be a bit disorganized and harried. I ordered the Classic Turkey (1/2 sandwich with soup)combo meal with plain chips and an ice tea. Paid and made my way over to get ice and tea. No ice and as I went up to the counter to let them know, several other customers were yelling from the soda machine that there wasn't any ice. It got a tad crazy but the staff handled it well, saying the machine was broke and to bring cups back to them and they would fill from behind the counter. My question to one of them was...knowing that the ice machine is broke, how come you aren't handing out cups full of ice to begin with...my question was met with a look and an attitude. Ok, let it go! I have to say, I do love the turkey sandwiches at Kneaders because they use real, not processed turkey breast on their sandwiches. Came with provolone, cheese and lettuce sans any kind of mayo or dressing. Had to ask for a side of mayo to spread on the sandwich. I had the Cheddar Broccoli soup, which was good and flavorful. Full of chopped broccoli and carrots. I also ordered a Double Peanut Butter cookie to take on the road. Overall, an ok experience. Friend had ordered one of the eclairs and when it was delivered, it was so small! We had a laugh and chalked it up to the current, let's not raise the costs but lessen the product instead phenomenon.

We enjoyed our lunch here today. Had the Half order soup and salad--Thai chicken salad and tomato basil soup. Both delicious Lots of gift baskets ready made on the counter for grab and go gifts. Busy but friendly staff. Prices and portions are reasonable. There are plenty of places to dine inside or outside on the patio. Will return.

    Turkey Bacon Avocado Sandwich

Service was good and menu looked really good. I was excited to try the turkey avocado bacon sandwich and the portobello soup. Food came out really fast. The soup was excellent. The sandwich was all bread and over powered the little bit of meat and veggies on the sandwich. The bread was good, but I could not taste the sandwich just the bread. Price for lunch was expensive for what you got.

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe (in Yuma) hit the spot. From the sandwiches, the salads, and the dessert items, we enjoyed every part of our meal. They have an assortment of options. This is a great spot for a quick bite. I will definitely be back.

Indoors at Kneadets has little charming touches everywhere, like these aprons!

Charming cafe with tantalizing baked goods and the most delicious sausage, egg and cheese croissant! Cute pet friendly patio. This was a perfect stop for us on a road trip from CA to Tucson, AZ. Lovely friendly service as well. They were very patient with me as I went through iterations on how to customize my croissant. Might stop here again on our way back!

Wonderful pastries, delicious and both adults and children loved the choices. We purchased tarts, of various kinds.

We were checking out the park in hopes of moving to Yuma but this left a bad taste, both literally and figuratively. We were greeted at the door and shown to a table when the server/hostess came back from the dining room. Service was great. Our server was very friendly and efficient. I never had to ask about refills. Great service was 4 1/2 stars. The food and manager was the problem. We ordered the Clam chowder was cool. Hubs chose the Fish and Chips which was the Friday 'special' although no discount or anything special. The Fish were good but fries were cold. They make some ahead instead of cooking as they go and keeping the fries hot and fresh. Ridiculous. Fries are not good cold. We explained that to the server. She must be instructed to get the manager because she said she would get the manager. Not good. They took it off the bill. Big deal since they took it back. The Manager argues that it was not cold. He didn't feel it or taste it but made the final determination that they were hot. He was rude and condescending and not helpful at all. He brought back out a chowder that wasn't hot again and probably the same cold French fries. He didn't address our problem at all. After he left, as woman who lives at the park came by the table and said that this happens a lot and that she worked for many years managing a big restaurant that he needs to learn customer service. My meal had a bright spot. The Chicken fried steak was excellent but my potatoes were barely warm, too. The asparagus was good, too! The manager brought out potatoes again but they were the same as before. I don't think the manager understands that when a customer is so disappointed with a food that they return it, when it comes back out, it must be fixed big time. In this case, piping hot. Ridiculous, to send out the same bad food. I think the manager believes that the customers are a captured audience-that they will eat there because they live there. That is disrespectful to those that pay to live there. There are many complaints, so hopefully the owner will rectify this situation soon.

What a beautiful setting with the mountains in the background and the Sultan sea in the front. I ordered: eggs sausages, hash browns, Rye bread, a short stack of pancakes, and biscuits and gravy. The restaurant is large with plenty of seating, considering they have the buffet in it as well. There were only a few people in there when we went in for lunch. Esperanza, our server, was wonderful. She was nice and professional. She answered questions knowledgeably about the menu and took our order. She made us feel welcome and made us happy to return to the Q Casino and Ocotillo Cafe. The Ocotillo Cafe was closest to our entrance so we went in. They have daily specials was $6.95 and today's was hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes & gravy. The sandwich looked unusual when it was dropped off but I'm glad I got a photo then because my husband inhaled it. The mashed edge house made, the bread was very good and a tasty, thick slice of turkey covered with good gravy. They also have a soup and salad bar special for $5.25 for one trip and $8.95 for all you can eat. They give you one small salad plate and a small cup for soup. If you want more, they will bring you new dishes and you pay the all you can eat price. It was plenty of food for me for lunch. There were good selections of prepared salads, greens, veggies, toppings and salad dressings. There were two soup options that day-chicken noodle and cream of broccoli. The chicken noodle had a too strong flavor of sage-I like sage but it was too much. We asked for the check and it was only $13.27! We decided since we were in the area on occasion, to get a Player's Card. You get $5 free play (for $1 activation) so we played our free play off and took our $10.90 and left while we were ahead. That almost paid for our $13 lunch! They have a Seafood Buffet on Friday and Saturday nights. We may have to drive the hour to try it. I recommend the Quechan Cafe. Amazing prices and good food.
