We finally stopped in after hearing about this café on the Chelmsford News Group Facebook page. The café is a larger space than you think it would be. There are booths and tables to sit in as you enter and the counter to the back. They have bakery items, bagels, sandwiches/paninis and coffee(lots of flavors!). I like that their coffee flavors are from beans, not syrup. We ordered bananas foster and macadamia nut for coffee and a Tom Brady breakfast sandwich. Everything was really good. I would recommend getting that sandwich on a jalapeno cheddar bagel!! It has the right amount of everything...egg, cheese, guac and bagel. KJ's caffe is located right off of 495, very convenient! Cute descent coffee place. I had their regular coffee with avocado veg panini. Its not on the menu but they made it for ne as I am vegetarian. The panini was good. Their fresh muffins are also equally good. I am taking one star out because they close too early (3.30pm). read more

Decided to give this KJ's Caffe a try yesterday morning. It was a lot more spacious inside than what it appeared to be on the outside. It was clean & newly renovated. Booths on the right side & a few tables on the left side. Took me a few minutes to check out their menu & decide. I believe the owners were in at the time with a few of their employees. We were greeted in a friendly manner. I ordered the Tom Brady Breakfast Bagel & "Twix" Iced Coffee. The Bagel Sandwich was delicious. Although, I wasn't too impressed with my Coffee. It wasn't terrible, but I thought it lacked flavor. I was hoping to taste Caramel & Chocolate. It was more of a Plain Regular Iced Coffee to be honest. Prices are average. read more

This place is exactly what Chelmsford needed! While we have many diners, there isn't really many non-chain counter order breakfast options in the area. They have a nice selection of coffees, pastries and sandwiches. Their coffee is the best of the best - they use coffee beans rather than syrup, and have endless flavor options. Easily my favorite coffee I've ever had. I had to knock a point off for the service speed on the food. Coffee comes out quickly and the staff is great, but I tend to have to wait a while for my food, or I'll order two things and they'll forget one. Hoping with time that will get better. The owners are also great, always getting to know their customers! They also have a lot of gluten free options, which I don't need, but it is noticed and appreciated that they have that available for people who need it. read more

First time customer! So happy we bumped into this caffe. The coffee is great so many flavors to choose from. I had a focaccia bagel with bacon and green onion cream cheese. I would highly recommend. A friend told me that recently opened KJs Caffe, next to Dominoes and across from Dunkin' Donuts, would be perfect for a leisurely lunch or breakfast or just a pastry and coffee. She said it was quiet and conducive to uninterrupted conversation. She was correct. The sandwich, wrap, and coffee selections were extensive (weren't interested in the breakfast fare), and we decided on the tuna sandwich. My friend finished half her wrap (she decided to take home the rest), and I powered through 3/4 of a half. I believe it may have been the owner who came by to check how we were doing, and upon seeing my myriad leftovers, asked if I wanted to take it home. I said no. He then asked how I liked my sandwich, to which I said, "not so much." I told him the tuna was off-putting due to a sweet taste or a strange mayonnaise so I didn't enjoy it. He said he was sorry and seemed concerned that I didn't care for my selection. What surprised my friend and me, however, is that he didn't go the extra mile and ask if there'd be something else I'd like to have instead. Customer service/PR, especially for a new establishment, goes a long way. I would have said no to a comped meal or muffin or to a different choice, but it would have been nice to have that option. Many casual restaurants are popping up in Westford and Chelmsford, so we will likely give them a chance instead, even though this place has promise and is in a good location. I debated whether I'd give three or four stars, but I decided to cut it some slack, being that this place hasn't been open for a long time. Also, my friend did enjoy her sandwich. I order coffee and 3 or more sandwiches every weekend the past 3 months. Love the coffee and food BUT I'm sick of paying for add ons on my sandwiches and the sandwich maker not putting the add ons on. This has happened on a few occasions. Was a bit skeptical due to a few negative reviews but so glad I took a chance. Spent a very relaxing day here while I waited on my car to get fixed. Great sandwich (bagel/egg/turkey sausage/cheese), mellow music played at the right volume, and no one bugged me or cared that I sat there for hours with a book. Not too crowded/noisy. Clean restroom. So happy this caffe came to Chelmsford! My sister and I ordered the white Christmas and Twix coffee. We both loved our coffees great flavor. We also got bagel sandwiches which were also really good! Amazing coffee! Everyone working here is so personable. They also have no shortage of gluten free options. I love that the coffee flavors are roasted into the beans so I don't have to have any sugar in my coffee. I like my coffee black and the coffee here doesn't have that acidic "bite" that so many places have. They also have SO many amazing a unique flavors. The peanut butter Oreo, chocolate marshmallow and Milky Way are among my favorites. The sizes are also so generous. Their medium is what many places consider a large. Nice vibe in here. Had a Large Iced Coffee Regular with a Bacon Egg N Cheese! Sandwich was FRESH, bagel was not stale and Iced coffee tasted full! Inside is pretty spacious. Although the black shades were down and the place looked close but they weren't. I stopped in instead of going to my regular coffee shop because it's around the corner from my place of work. The pastry selections are skim with a small selection of muffins (which I will add look delicious). I got a breakfast sandwich, coffee (2 espresso shots included) and a brownie for 15.00. I personally think the place is overpriced. It wasn't that busy when I got there so I didn't understand how my order almost got messed up and when I asked about it the girl Raquel was a little rude. I have been to KJ's Caffe twice, both times in the early afternoon. The coffee is very good but when I went with a tea drinker she found the tea selection to be meager and ordinary. Seating is very limited so it is not a place to linger and visit with friends. The second time I went we took our coffee out to the car and sat there. Both times I visited the cases of pastries, etc. were pretty bare so we didn't order anything. Perhaps the selection is better in the morning. They did have a nice array of gluten-free options, though, including Annie's, which are fabulous. The staff is friendly and efficient. I will definitely grab coffee at KJ's again and hope to try a sandwich, as the menu looks good. read more
