Not knowing if I was going to have a microwave I went for the store prepared sushi which looks pretty good. I'm just about to try it but I sAw the sushi guys and they seemed to know what they were doing.

My family and I have tried other grocery stores on occasion, but always come back (quickly) to Hannaford. Their meat and produce are fresh, great quality and there's a great variety. I need to buy Gluten Free food as I have Celiac disease. There's a great variety of foods to choose from and they are well marked with purple tags throughout the store. The staff is pleasant and helpful and attentive. The bakery is great! We have gotten several custom cakes from here over the years. Hannaford has their own brand of premium deli meats called Inspirations. These are delicious and healthy. No gluten either! I could go on... I love this store, and many others in this chain, and recommend it to all my friends and family.

Mismanaged. Understaffed. Central. While the demographics of Chelmsford suggests it's local big box…read morestore would be too notice, this store is widely recognized as the worse Walmart in the region. That's less to do with stock/merchandise than chronic understaffing. Ex: 20m in line for return this AM waiting for a customer who appeared to be (can't make this up) repeatedly counting dollar bills and calling someone. Other times it's been engaging retail Survivor mode hunting for a sales associate for some locked item electronics purchase which, once she/he are found, is more than helpful but clearly overwhelmed. Like the Target in Lowell, avoid this store where/when possible. Geographic convenience to/from this location is often inversely proportionate to time wasted once inside.

Back then they prided themselves on the best prices, nicest staff, cleanest building etc. Over time and different regime changes you could see this place devolve. Since their recent changes where this has become a Super Walmart it has regained some of its past glory and seems to be cleaner than it has been in recent years. The staff is usually friendly and they have a lot of products in stock. Price wise the grocery department has something to be desired but they do have some things at better prices than their competitors. As for electronics they can beat most of their competition without fail. During Christmas this is still one of the places I plan to go/be for early hour super buys. I didn't realize they were talking to me at first, and then stopped and looked up to see not only them, but five other customers in the store staring at me. I replied, "No, I'm all set. Just gonna grab a few things," and started shopping. After two minutes, the younger of the two women at the counter joined me in the aisle and asked if I needed help again. What the heck? If she wants to be my personal shopper while I'm in the store, who am I to stop her?. So she took my list and led me around the store. They didn't have a few of the things on the list, one of which was yellow bean sauce, but she actually called her sister (must be a family-run store) to ask if she knew if they carried that product. They don't, unfortunately, but A+ for going above and beyond my customer service expectations. Yesterday's visit was such an awkward yet pleasant experience.
