Great food and decent service. However, the person who waited on me had overdone the cologne. We eat with our senses, smell being one of them. Really dampened the experience read more

I have to update my previous review after a repeat visit. I had an absolutely delicious entree last night: Crispy soft-shell crab with green curry. Absolutely delicious! the range of "classic" combinations is really broad and each time my taste buds thank me for Kittiwat! Also had a mojito that was a great and refreshing compliment to the dish. read more

Unfortunately, management does not take consumer concerns seriously, but rather blame the customer for restaurant's poor service. This is definitely reflective in the attitude and behavior received from staff. read more

great thai food! very quaint The ambiance is pretty chill as well, and the service is usually above average. I recommend this place.

Fantastic Thai! Fragrant and creative layered flavors. Can't wait to come back. Fun decor. Great service too.

I love Thai food and saw this little place while in town. I would definitely recommend. The food was delicious (Pad Thai and Herbal Chicken) and the staff, fairly attentive. The ambiance was quaint, definitely not upscale. They didn't have the wine that I picked, off their menu but, not a big deal IMO. If I could give 4 1/2 stars I would. If I lived in town, I'd probably be a regular. read more

We are local and have yet to eat inside (we promise we will soon!)- this is our go to takeout Thai place. We have tried a little bit of everything over the years from appetizers to curries and haven't met a dish we didn't like. Love that you can select your spice level. Here are some of our favorites (absolute favorite dish, this is always in our order as a 3/5 spicy*): - herbal chicken, took us all by surprise. We really like the crunchy basil - spicy basil fried rice - chicken pad Thai, classic - chicken pad see eww, classic - green curry - basil eggplant*, the best way to eat eggplant with tofu and peppers! - curry puffs Staff for pick-up is friendly! read more

When in Frederick, there aren't that many options for Thai food. If you find one that's better than this, let me know. Still, I should say this place is cute and has friendly helpful staff, and the food is fresh and tasty. I really couldn't ask for anything more! If you ask for special instructions on your food like requesting vegan or gluten free, they have you covered here. I really like that they have choices here that are tofu or vegetables, most places you order one: tofu + vegetables. It's really nice that they let you choose, because while I like tofu, usually I'd rather have more veggies and less tofu. They have a vegan appetizer that has vegan mayo, which is pretty cool as far as Thai restaurant standards (tofu tempura). With that said, expect lots of classic dishes here like pad Thai and pad see ew and spicy basil and fried rice with your choice of vegetables or tofu or chicken or shrimp, etc. When I asked, they told me any of the classic dishes can be gluten free. That's nice. For lunch, they specifically offer vegan pot stickers as part of your appetizer that accompanies your main dish. Very nice touch! My favorite dish at any Thai restaurant is if they have papaya salad or Som Tum. Theirs did not disappoint. I was very happy with the lovely presentation in a wooden dish piled high and overflowing with the beautiful julienned green papaya, and plenty of spicy heat to complement the lime fresh flavors and the snappy roasted peanuts. The rest of the food is satisfying. I like they have the choice of brown rice and sticky rice to accompany your dish - pay extra, but worth it. I like all rice, but I have a soft spot for sticky rice (unsweetened or sweetened). I like to order it with my Som Tum and sometimes with my dishes, like Spicy Basil vegetables. The vegetable mix is as expected with some broccoli, carrots, green beans, bell peppers and baby corn. The food is saltier than I would make for myself, but I didn't feel it was so salty that I was thirsting for water after every bite. If I didn't have rice, I probably wouldn't have just eaten the vegetable dishes plain. The sauces for the dishes are not thickened, so be careful when you're eating rice with it, as it ends up getting harder to eat a meaningful bite of rice if you add the rice and sauce together. I like my food to have spicy heat to it, but I don't like it to be so hot that I'm sweating. The food here can easily be ordered to the point of sweating, so don't go for spicy spicy if you can't handle it! Alternatively, add more rice and cold water, and you'll be fine. All in all, portions are fair, prices are appropriate, flavor is good, veggies are fresh, choices are plentiful and the modern decor and nice knowledgeable staff round out the experience. I'd be happy to go back here and dine in person anytime (after coronavirus closures are over). In the meantime, there are a lot of options for ordering from here online. read more

Kittiwat Thai Kitchen - Pad cashew vegetable gluten-free vegan sauce - Thai Near Me - Frederick, Maryland

Our family enjoys this local Frederick Thai restaurant. The food is always delicious and fresh. From 3:00-6:30pm during the week is Happy Hour and appetizers are $5. We ordered calamari and satay chicken. Then for our main dishes we ordered the herbal chicken, pad pakk, the kimchee fried rice which has beef and shrimp and is super spicy, and the shrimp pad Thai. The portions are large and we usually share as family. I do not have any bad reviews of this local gem. Currently since the pandemic, Kittiwat is doing limited indoor dining and outdoor seating. Even if doing take out, the food is always so good. This is definitely a family favorite and is a must try. read more

Food was good, great ambience, beautiful decorations, but I just have to say something about the customer services. I appreciate you all for your services but I think it'd be better if you served us with a more positive attitude. If I am not done with my food (like the plate was still half full), please don't give us to-go boxes yet, because it made me feel like I am not welcomed, and you never gave us a single smile the whole time. I felt like being watched while eating cause we were talking and my plate was still pretty full, then they assumed that I am done and brought the boxes? We stayed for 30 mins by then and I acknowledged that if I'm done eating, I should leave so that you have tables for other customers (there were lots of open tables too). So yea, that's it, otherwise everything was good. read more

Didn't realize I haven't written a review for them before. These guys are fantastic! The food is awesome, the service is great and the orders are always accurate and delicious. They also have a frequent diner club/app. They use your phone number and you earn rewards. They also throw in free items based on how much you spend. Our last order, we got a free order of potstickers. We haven't been there since before COVID and went for takeout this past weekend. Even though they were slammed (dining room full), lots of take out orders, they were super friendly on the phone and in person, took my call promptly, had everything ready when I got there and the food was hot and delicious! I didn't realize how much I missed this place. We'll definitely be putting them in the rotation again, even if it is a 30 minute drive. We had crispy spring rolls, crab rangoons, papaya salad, shrimp pad thai and beef fried thai rice. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend if you're looking for awesome Thai. It's worth a drive too! read more

This may not even make sense, but I've had dreams where I'm traipsing through a pacific island jungle, and I come to a house made of green felt. I never understood what those dreams meant....until I tasted the green curry I was served last week. This restaurant affirmed parts of my life and made me question others. The food is a testament to cuisine and good taste. read more

Environment: Modern looking place with a small bar area. It was a little bit cramped, but other than that, no complaints. Food: I got a cashew pad Thai with chicken. The peppers, onions, and chicken mixed with their sauce made for a very tasty combination. Hint of spiciness, but definitely manageable. We also ordered some wings for the table. I think it was supposed to have a little bit of kick too, but it was pretty mild. Still had great taste and texture, though. Price: Fair prices for the portions. Definitely on the lower budget in terms of dinner. Service: This is where the 4/5 comes in instead of the 5/5. When we were seated, we had to wait a bit to get our plates and water. After we placed the order, it took a little bit for the entrees to come out. Staff was friendly though. Overall: Pretty good Thai food at a affordable price. Service slows down a bit when it's busy, but other than that, would definitely recommend. read more

Just go--the food is delicious! Everything is fresh, good service, and great drinks. Everything I have tried is just so good.

I've had a lot of Thai food in my days, and this spot just really misses the mark. The only flavor from the pad see ew was char. Pad Thai was very sour. .. and of all of the many flavors that's supposed to hit with Boat noodles, all I gathered was salt and water. Two stars however because service was good, and the place is clean.. it actually makes me feel bad that the food wasn't good. read more

What a fantastic surprise. I eat a lot of Thai food everywhere I go and have spent time in Thailand. Kittiwat blew me away with the taste and quality of the meal. Food is amazing! Flavorful! I had the pad roasted cashew nut with tofu and the lahb Kai salad. Both were delicious. The salad is definitely spicy but full of wonderful Thai flavors. Wonderful and speedy service. I will definitely return and try other items on the menu. I recommend the lahb Kai salad if you enjoy spicy food. It's a spicy minced chicken salad with mint that brings in all the Thai flavors you need!! read more

We really, really loved this place.... originally. But after multiple occasions of forgetting to make our food (literally), not answering the phone before closing time, and seeing multiple hairs in our food on multiple occasions, we feel pretty done with this place. They've compensated our meals for when we've found those hairs in them but when something like that continues to happen, you really start to wonder the level of cleanliness. Unfortunately we won't be ordering from here for a while. We hope they fix the issues since it really is a local favorite. read more

I think I found my new Thai place for Thai food. I usually go to the one closer to my place in Gaithersburg because they are authentic, but after trying it a few times, it is a bit on the sweeter side. This place takes another spin of Thai cuisine which is much more robust and grounded in terms of taste. Matched with their modern decor and plentiful parking, I walked out full and happy. We had the sampler platter, pad Thai, Fried rice, the beef noodle, and some other dish for the whole family and it was all delicious. Every admitted that the beef noodle was really good. The fried foods were a bit heavy, but still lighter than other places, but the sauce and taste were on point. The plating made the place definitely worthy of being in the 21st century. Some were plain and simple. Others, were picture worthy. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here and do want to try it again. This time, I want to try their curries. read more

This is my sisters family's favorite take out Thai place and I can now understand the hype! We ordered many dishes but fan faves were veggie Penang and the Herbal chicken with crispy basil. I loved the texture of the tofu but wish there was more in the dish. Great food, prices were bit high for the expected amount received. We received one dish incorrectly and when we dialed the restaurant they immediately corrected it and apologized. Great customer service! read more

Kittiwat Thai Kitchen - Thai Near Me - Frederick, Maryland

Kittiwat Thai Kitchen seems to be the most hipster-looking eatery in the Frederick area, and while I give them kudos for the aesthetics, I can't say I'm a fan. The menu is pretty extensive, offering various appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, lunch specials, side options, and a kids menu. We ordered the Pad Thai (with rice noodles, egg, scallions, radish, bean sprouts, and peanuts; you can request your dish to be more 'wet,' if you like it more saucy; this dish was a little sweeter than the usual, and the noodles were overcooked) and the Pad Kee Mao (with flat rice noodles, tomatoes, basil, bell peppers, peppercorn, and onions with chili paste; definitely Thai spicy! The flavor seemed to be there, but the flat noodles were so gummy from being overcooked). Chicken was the protein we opted for, and it was way too dry (even for me) and stringy. I got to give it to them - they do serve up some large portions, and while I do enjoy Thai leftovers, these dishes were tossed. We tried the potstickers as part of the lunch special, and we just weren't fans of the filling nor the drizzled sauce on top. Maybe it was because it was a vegetarian dumpling and it contained some type of soy protein? We tried their popular Thai iced tea set, which I was actually excited for - the tea ice cubes were a nice touch so it wouldn't dilute/water down your tea; however, the tea itself was not steeped long enough and was super weak - the ice cubes seemed to have more flavor. Service was friendly! I'm glad that I was able to try this place out, but for me, it's not worth a detour, whether you're living in- or outside of MD. +overcooked/gummy noodles +avoid the potstickers +weak Thai iced tea +friendly staff +great aesthetics/IG-worthy +ample parking in the plaza read more

We were just visited the restaurant though was the food was good but the service from ROD( guy with white flowers shirt) was worst. His facial expressions, attitude, way of replying back, way of addressing the customer was disgusting. We found a hair in the main course and felt very disappointed even though they replaced the dish. But this guy response was really bad. I did not write any TIP because of my experience but this guy ROD followed and asked why there was not tip. I patiently replied about the experience he did not feel sorry about it, but his expression and body language is worst. DONT EVER VISIT THIS PLACE WHRN THIS GUY IS AROUND. I am going to tell more ppl about this guy and experience. LEARNING HOW TO TREAT A CUSTOMER IS VERY IMPORTANT IN A SERVICE INDUSTRY. This guys lacked in it as they are over confident. read more

My favorite Thai in the area! Great ambiance and cutely decorated. Food is super yummy too.

We were in town to van shop and were really hungry. It seems that there are some good and varied choices in the area. The people at the dealer recommended Kittiwat when we said we love Thai. The ambiance was a bit cold feeling, almost like a tiny mall food court. We were served proThe menu is diverse and they have creative choices. I had a Massaman chicken curry dish - it was very good. My hub had a kind of beef stew, which surprised me as he usually wants spicy and hot, which this wasn't. But it had genuine hardy flavor and he ate it all up. For dessert we shared a pumpkin based custard thing. I forget the name -it was unusual, dense and rich deliciousness! (Note: We HAD to get Perrier - the tap water was atrocious to us) Prices were fair. read more

The rice was so good! I was a little nervous at first because the veggies were big chunks but it was really good mixed with the rice. The veggies weren't super crunchy either. We went into dine-in at this restaurant on 13May2024 at 8.17 PM. The dining hours outside the hotel clearly mentioned that the last seating time in the restaurant is 8.30 (will attach the photo to the review). We were told by both the restaurant staff that they cannot seat anyone after 8.15 PM. I told them about the seating timing mentioned in the door but still was told that it was the management decision and she cannot help me with that. We were disappointed by the way we were asked to leave even though it was their mistake in this case. read more

Classy & modern ambiance inside. Basic patio out front, we sat there because it was such a nice day. The menu is unique. It's got the classics, but also some fun innovations like Green Curry Fried rice. Everything was good. I got the pumpkin curry with shrimp. The shrimp portion was very generous. The cooked pumpkin inside the curry was my favorite part. If you are a spicy person, you'll get it here, but they can also tone it down and do mild if you like. Our server was very personable & took extra time to chat with us. read more

Stopped by here after a camping trip in Cunningham falls! Delicious food and fantastic service. I especially love how you can control the sweetness level of their Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffees. They do a nice job here. Hubs got the Thai fried rice with chicken, no spice, and I got the basil fried rice with seafood, 3 stars spicy, and I ordered the Thai iced tea. Spice level was on point. This is a baller place. They instantly get five stars for the way the Thai iced tea is presented and for using ice cubes which were made using the tea (so it doesn't get diluted). Ordered five things: Pineapple fried rice with chicken, Pad Thai with beef, Lychee duck, something with shrimp (good heat), and the mango with rice. Everyday tasted fresh, full of flavor, and was presented nicely. If I go to Frederick, I would definitely hit up this place for food again. Also, the mango sticky rice was fantastic.
