This is one of those hidden gems that I will dream about until I get the chance to go back. Came for lunch and ordered half the menu and did NOT regret it! Small classic looking diner that is full of mostly regulars, but a great homey and welcoming vibe to the place! My two favorites of what we ordered were the steak and eggs (the steak was PERFECTLY cooked and insanely delicious) and the grilled cheese. Let me stop for a moment and talk to you about this grilled cheese. It changed my life. No grilled cheese will ever love up to it. Honestly I've lost sleep thinking about it. Will DEFINITELY be back next time I am in south bend. Delicious food, lots of character, and full of warm welcoming people, what more could you ask for????

This spot is serving socially distanced indoor seating and take out. The food was awesome. I had the philly and cheese curds. Absolutely delicious! Best in town. My husband had the special. It was Hungarian goulash. He said it was so good. Will definitely be coming back.

I've always wanted to eat here, not disappointed. Dinner and a show.

It is what it is. A greasy spoon done right. Experienced short order cooks that make your meal to order ( sit at the counter, enjoy the show). I enjoyed the country fried steak. The gravy doesn't seem homemade but still tasted great. Loved the home fries. Friend had french toast made right in front of us. This place is classic and no surprise it's lasted so long.

Western Omelet and hash browns covered in sausage gravy and franks red hot. Texas toast and a short stack... UNREAL!

The food here is excellent, from the salads to the sandwiches, house cut French fries and chips.

Great diner - Friendly service & delicious food priced right 24 hours a day - Should have been franchised out to mid-sized cities years ago!

The photos looked incredible, and the stellar reviews confirmed it wasn't just good lighting. I was sold--even if Waze had other ideas! After my GPS took me on a scenic tour of South Bend, I almost gave up. I called the restaurant, and the staff graciously guided me in. From the outside, the brick building looks like a standard office, but once you step inside, you realize you've stumbled upon a total hidden gem. It feels like a beautiful secret. Upon entering, the entire staff welcomed me so warmly that I felt like I was catching up with old friends. I walked past the elegant bar and chose a seat in the dining room. The ambiance is romantic, relaxing, beautifully decorated, and quaint--yet completely comfortable if you are dining alone. I opted for the tasting menu, which is served as a total surprise. For a true foodie, this is pure heaven. I didn't dislike a single dish. In fact, each plate brought so much joy that I caught myself closing my eyes just to savor the flavors and the atmosphere. As I told the staff on my way out: "The food was so good, it makes you want to cry!" (Happy tears, of course!). If you're a local who hasn't been, GO. If you're traveling for work, GO. If you have a special occasion, GO. Life is short--take the road trip to South Bend just for Roselily. The menu changes so I'll be back every chance I get! My only actual complaint? The owner wasn't there for me to beg him to open a second location in Lexington, KY!

Food was amazing! Staff was friendly, great atmosphere!!! Waiter was informative and hilarious!read more

Yeah, I did a Grubhub order and I gave very specific instructions on everything that I needed…read morebecause I have a broken back, a sinus infection and a viral infection so I end up with a guy banging on my door demanding a code that I never received which is not taphouse on the edge's fault, but I requested very specific things like a sandwich be cut in half and crispy, tater tots and extra napkins and etc., etc. and receiving none of it and I went so far to call the restaurant to let them know about it and the manager pretty much said well there's not much we can do about it or that was the attitude so I said I'll never order from you again and I won't. Because my order is wrong and it's their fault. It's called accountability. I will never order this again from this restaurant. Or anything from this restaurant again based on the way that they didn't make it right. I even went so far to call back a second time and got excuses as to why they include onion, tomato and lettuce in an order that is excluded on tomato, onion, and lettuce. Onion makes me sick and everything had an onion flavor to it so I spent $20 at Grubhub to not have dinner and when I tried to explain that to the manager, she said well so many people get upset because it says that it comes with that. So I told her I said that's fine. I told her that I'm got these things going on and it's not her fault the Grubhub delivery driver isn't her fault, but the reason that the order was wrong on several different levels, not cut in half no mail on the sandwich not extra pickles not extra napkins, not extra salt, etc. etc. and everything tasted like onions so of course I don't wanna eat it and I got excuses so I told her I won't use her restaurant again and she said OK. I would recommend that she don't go there because they don't fix things when they screw them up. I have no intention of ordering or going to that restaurant ever again. And it's funny because my nephew used to work there and I used to love the place. Well I guess I'm done with it.
