Ambience and soul of this place are warm friendly delicious REAL LOCAL comfortable healthy I had grilled tofu veg sandwich on levain (sourdough to me) / tofu was pressed & truly grilled. Veggies and avocado all fresh. The sandwich was dreamy. My son had a chicken / poached egg salad that looked amazing ... he ate every bite. My husband a greens veggie grilled chicken salad - We all shared a few homemade buttermilk biscuits & a cup-o-grits. Every bite was eaten. Oh. I had a cold brew & chai iced with cream. It was as good as I make at home - no sweetener. Perfection. Prices fair. Food LOCAL. Staff WELCOMING. I took a few pics. Stopped in on a cold December day over the holidays for lunch, ordering the tomato soup and the patty melt sandwich. Both were very good. Service is prompt and friendly, and the food is reasonably priced. Ambiance could use a little bit of investment, but otherwise highly recommended. read more

usually when i order from here and something is wrong or forgotten i leave it alone bc i love the food & get that it's a small staff but i just picked up another wrong order and their response was mildly annoying. their online menu clearly states the sandwich i got comes with a mug of chili & they didn't give me one, which is fine but they tried to claim it was a temporary special they did? if that's true update your website when the special is over... but i've been eyeing this dumb hotdog sandwich for months now LOL i don't think you'd leave a temporary special up for that long. i should've just stuck with grilled cheese & tomato smh but the mug of chili is literally what convinced me to try something new. hope it's better next time :( read more

Food is fresh, locally sourced, and very flavorful! The ambience is so attractive and quaint. The greenery all over the place really feels cozy and soft even thought it's right in downtown. Good place for a creative sandwich. Reasonably priced. I noticed they had some vegan options, so something to keep in mind if you have vegan friends. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and simple decor. Have eaten here several times for brunch on weekends and every time we're so impressed. Hubby loves the tomato soup and grilled cheese. I love the special seasonal quick bread. Always have to buy a loaf to go, too. We've ordered dishes for holidays, too. The Thanksgiving sweet potato dish was amazing--creamy sweet potatoes with a crunchy, unique cornflake, brown sugar (I think), and pecan topping. It was heat and eat and some relatives took home huge leftovers of only that because they loved it so much. You can tell that the staff loves what they do and they're always friendly and happy to help. I appreciate that they care enough to ask for wearing masks at the ordering counter and while rambling around the building. This is an interesting little place. At first taste the food is a little bland. You can tell they're not using a ton of salt and other seasonings to cover up the ingredients in the food. If you search for the flavor though it's there. Their tomato soup tastes like tomatoes, not salt, and the whole bird tastes like chicken and an over medium egg, not like fried breading or mayonnaise. They leave the skin on which gives it a much needed flavor boost. Those were what I got. They were pretty good. The bread of the sandwich was actually great. It was crispy and chewy at the same time, perfectly grilled too. The one thing I couldn't get behind was the lemonade. I mean, I'm all for cutting the extra sugar out of stuff but then you've just got watered down lemon juice and I just didn't like it very much. I dont know, maybe you will. While visiting Omaha, I happened upon the Kitchen Table restaurant. The place was buzzing, so I decided to give it a try. I am so happy and so lucky to have done just that! I was greeted by Jessica and her staff right away. I checked out the menu for breakfast and decided to order the French toast. Turns out it was hands down the best I have ever had! A friend that joined me for breakfast ordered the breakfast sandwich, and she too said it was the best breakfast sandwich ever! The bacon is incredible. Everything on the menu is made from scratch, including the breads, scones, and cookies. If you miss having a meal at the Kitchen Table while in downtown Omaha, all I can say is that you really missed out! read more

Tender chicken and a very pleasant sauce, not overpowering at all. We also tried the pulled pork PBJ. It is so filling and a great take on a the classic PBJ. We thought this would be a true fresh, farm to table restaurant. The meatloaf in sandwich was burnt on the outside, mushy on the inside, and carrots hard. This may be the way intended but the hard carrot slices were odd. I'm truly perplexed how this place is getting 4 stars when the best part of the meal was the tomato soup and the popcorn. My dad and I stopped here for brunch on our cross country trip. Man, are we glad we did. The service was impeccable. The restaurant is family owned and everything is locally sourced. Even the ketchup was homemade. And the jam! Wow, so good. The server was part of the family and told us the story about how they got started. I also have a gluten allergy and they made sure to accommodate me, asking me if I wanted some tomatoes on the side (since I wasn't able to eat the biscuit). Just an overall great experience. Kitchen Table offers some really unique sandwich options! I did not really know what to expect from the whole bird sandwich, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well all the flavors went together. I was initially hesitant to get a sandwich with chicken breast because I thought it might be dry; however, the chicken was cooked and seasoned really well and I was very satisfied! The bread in my sandwich was also delicious and well made! Although it seems pretty pricey for a sandwich shop, I do think it's worth trying. And these sandwiches are very filling as well! read more

My wife and I enjoyed this cafe very much while visiting family in the Omaha area. The grilled cheese and tomato soup is delicious and the biscuits and gravy dish was super comforting for a cold day outside. A unique addition to our lunch was the pickled surprise side dish that offered a complimentary taste to the lunch items. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I can foresee during busy times, a wait to be seated might be experienced since it is a relatively small venue but the small space adds to the character. The only confusion was trying to determine whether we had to order at the counter or if wait staff would come to our table to take our order. Not a deal breaker at all, though, as soon as we asked a table next to us the ordering process. We will definitely visit the Kitchen Table again on a return visit. read more

This is a super cute little spot. It's kind of confusing when you walk in, it's hard to tell if you need to be seated or seat yourself - and you walk up to the counter to order. It took us a second to figure out the vibe but once we did it was fine. The staff was all very friendly! I got the curried squash soup, and my friend got the beet salad. Both of us enjoyed our food, and the atmosphere is lovely. I'd like to try more of their menu items. read more

They have a lovely simple breakfast here that I usually really like. 2 eggs, grilled toast, ricotta & house made jam. Simple, straightforward, normally delicious. Today I ordered this and my scrambled eggs were so over salted as to be inedible. It was gross really. Their dining room person came to refill my coffee and I told him this. Normally this particular snack is reserved for the movies, which makes it feel extra special when it comes with a sandwich instead of chips or fries. Came with a couple of friends for the brunch menu. While the combinations were interesting, sometimes they worked and sometimes they didn't. Overall though, this was an average experience. Ambiance - Cute little cafe style where you can see the kitchen. It was cool to see how they were calling the orders and such. Service - You pay at the front, but they get the food out to you as soon as they can and that was much appreciated. Also patient with suggestions and recommendations. Food: - Thick cut grilled bread - best thing here. The bread was just so tasty and the butter and jam were delicious. I could have this everyday for the rest of my life. - Granola & yogurt - I would have been okay with this if it was just normal granola and yogurt but the addition of beets was just odd, not in a good way. - Fritatta - Decent fritatta and comes with a simple salad. Nothing special and the fritatta was a bit small. - French toast - The french toast was delicious, but was topped with sweet potato? It would have been perfectly fine without it, but the interesting addition was just odd. I didn't think it was terrible, but my friend absolutely did not like it. Pricing - At $15 for the amount of food we got, this was a fantastic deal. Overall, I personally thought this place was overrated and not as good as everyone made it out to be. Perhaps their regular menu was better, but brunch wise, this was an average place. Maybe chill with the extra additions, because sometimes the food doesn't need it. read more

Kitchen Table is one of my favorite places to bring visitors. Maybe it's the menu written on a chalkboard, the mason jar water glasses, the super friendly staff, or the plants on the wall but something about this restaurant just feels like Omaha! All of their food is delicious and made from local ingredients. You know it's homemade because you can see the chefs cooking up your meal in the back. Most of the entrees are sandwiches but the portions are large and are served with a side of popcorn... how original! I will also say that the menu definitely caters to adventurous eaters, so keep that in mind. I've been here for brunch as well and it is a great alternative to traditional Omaha brunch. Seating is a bit limited, but it will be worth the wait. I can honestly say that I've never met someone that doesn't LOVE Kitchen Table, so be sure to give it a try! read more

Cute, small place trying to be conscious of food waste They have a small menu but good enough selection for everyone. It's nice they try to perfect a small menu. The staff was nice. They were attentive. My only complaint would be speed of service. We weren't in a rush and only had a table of 6 in front of us. It still took probably 30-40 minutes before our food came. The food was delicious!! But it had already started to get cold unfortunately. However, that biscuit was soo yummy. It made up for it. I would definitely give this place another try! read more

Wow! My husband and I got their Turkey Chili for Christmas Eve- loved it!! We have a Christmas Eve Tradition of chili- I'm glad I ordered out this yet! The chili was Much better than I made it!! They also add in awesome biscuits. We didn't eat the biscuits with the chili- but I served to to my husband the next day with some ham and Swiss- He wants to go an buy more biscuits!!
