Had a great experience here on my first visit. This was a tough review because I can only rate in whole numbers, otherwise I would have given it a 4.5 I'll give my numeric readings first, and then my review; Ambiance-5 The restaurant was very open, clean and seem very well organized. I really enjoyed the fact that tables were not on top of one another and that you were sitting and eating on top of the table next to you. The bathrooms were spotless and overall the entire restaurant looked like it just opened up for the day when we were actually there for dinner. Service-5 Our server was absolutely fantastic. I apologize for not remembering her name, but she was at our table immediately for our drink orders and helped us navigate the menu by telling us both her favorite food items as well as the most popular ones that other guests of theirs ordered. Dirty plates and glasses were cleared right away and the entire maintenance of our table throughout our time there was exceptional. Food-4.5 I thought the food was very good. For appetizers, we shared the Korean BBQ Cauliflower and the Shrimp & Grits. They were both delicious and we demo'ed the plates (see attached picture). Our entrees were: CHICKEN KATSU: Delicious crispy chicken cutlet REALLY CRUNCHY in a honey/garlic glaze (not really a strong flavor) and a soy infused rice LOADED with sweet sugar snap peas. MEDITERRANEAN SALMON SALAD- Nicely cooked piece of salmon over a fresh Arugula with shaved vegetables, dukkah, feta, herb tahini, traditional hummus in a lemon vinaigrette. BLACKENED CHICKEN SANDWICH- A nicely cooked chicken breast with avocado puree, chipotle crema, heirloom tomato, multi-grain toast and served with your choice of side. BLACKENED FISH TACOS: Blackened Fish Filet , tamarind soy glaze, asian slaw, crispy rice, lime crema with pineapple salsa. Value-6 The entire experience was very great! The food; options, portions, flavors, serving temperatures and prices were outstanding! Overall, the food was very good and I WILL be back to taste other menu items! Great spot! They have a good outdoor area that is covered, great for those random FL rain storms. Inside bar is big and lively. Highly recommend sitting at the bar, but the tables are nice as well. Best fish tacos I ever had. The crispy rice adds a little crunch and the pineapple salsa pairs perfectly with the fish. Would go back here just for the tacos. We have now been here twice and can't say enough good things about this place. The indoor/outdoor dining area is awesome and the tables are comfortable. We have been with a smaller party of 4 and a large group of 10 and both times the service, food and drinks were excellent. The blackberry smash mocktail and the spicy days margarita are both delicious. The hardest thing to decide is what to get because everything on the menu looks great. The mushroom pizza, chicken katsu and shrimp and grits are all worth coming back for. We were glad we saved room for dessert as we ordered one of each and all were delicious. The blueberry lemon pie was my personal favorite. Our whole group left saying how we want to come back and try more of the menu. Bonus our server Noah was outstanding and the chef personally stopped by to say happy birthday to our friend whose birthday we were celebrating in the party of 10. We had the brunch shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles. Both were really good. Not large portions but plenty for brunch. The maple syrup was one of the better ones we had. We also enjoyed the mimosa flight and espresso martini. The former is champagne heavy in the beginning and then at the end, particularly with the mango one, it was all mango. I went recently for a girls dinner! It's a perfect spot for any vibe you're going for (date night, girls night, family dinner)! This restaurant is a delicious new addition to UTC! Our waiter was super attentive, never let any water glass go empty! I had the salmon salad, and it was one of the best salmon salads I've ever had! Everything on the menu is so fresh and delicious. The location is great, right off I-75 in Sarasota and close to all the shops. There's plenty of parking which made it super easy. I had an excellent experience at Kitchen Social in UTC Sarasota. From the moment we walked in, the customer service stood out. Everyone from the host to our waitstaff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The food was just as impressive. The biscuits were savory and paired perfectly with their delicious butter. I started with a cup of lobster bisque that had a nice, comforting heat to it. For mains, everything at the table was a hit. My wife loved the shrimp and grits, and I thoroughly enjoyed the crab-crusted fish, which was perfectly flaky. The corn with pineapple added a unique and flavorful twist that really complemented the dish. To wrap it all up, the butter cake was outstanding, rich, warm, and the perfect ending to a great meal. Stopped by the new kitchen social yesterday evening after work. There was a long wait list which one would expect on a Friday early evening, so I cannot doc them a star for that. The waiter that served us was there whenever we needed him and made good suggestions, the bartender and the rest of the staff were just as helpful. The ambiance was modern decor, open and bright We ordered the signature cheddar biscuits, pimento burger & fries, Thai chicken bowl, crispy chicken sandwich with Mac & cheese, and the short rib tacos. The biscuits were delicious (buttery slightly sweet with a light crisp on the bottom), my chicken sandwich was really good nice crunch not to spicy (order a side of hot sauce if you want it spicy) and the Mac was a large portion with a decent amount of creamy cheese flavor, but I might stick to the fries next time which are thin and crispy, my guests said the chicken bowl was satisfying (Fyi slight curry taste to the dish), my other guest enjoyed the burger and had no complaints, short rib tacos were decent (they give you 2 but you might want to add that third one if you're hungry). What a great addition to the UTC area. Absolutely love the "outside feel" and the ability to sit at the bar outside and not be drenched in sweat because it's so hot right now. The bartender was great and the service was quick. We stopped in for a drink and a snack. Since I mix my vodka - I always do well and shocked the drinks were less than $6.00 and it wasn't even happy hour. We had the Korean BBQ Cauliflower and the House Salad! Both were delicious! UPDATE: the general manager reached out to me within 12 hours and is doing a formal investigation to ensure the restaurant quality remains safe for its patrons. First I would like to say that the food was delicious, and the wait staff was attentive and inviting. I really enjoyed my experience with the exception of lots of flies inside the restaurant - likely from the open concept vibe with windows and doors open. FOOD POISONING and 21 weeks pregnant: What happened that night (6 hours after I ate) is a health concern that needs to be addressed asap by the management team. I truly believe that there was nothing wrong with the way the food was cooked or handled (but who knows). My concern is over the amount of flies that were inside the restaurant. I understand it's an "open concept" vibe, but there were flies landing on my straw tip and food in front of my eyes - who knows how many landed on my food in the kitchen. Pregnant women are 10x more likely to have food poisoning due to compromised immune systems. And flies can carry food-borne bacteria such as eColi and Salmonella by landing on fecal matter or raw meat, then landing on cooked food. Please consider 1.) immediately investigating how food was stored and prepared the night of 6/25 2.) observe the number of flies and address ASAP - the fly spinners at the table are not the answer... 3.) reimbursing me for the healthcare costs I incurred due to contracting food poisoning at your establishment. read more

Stopped in for lunch today and learned this is a brand new location and the first outside of Ohio. The staff was huge with folks from locations in Ohio down here helping with the opening. The service was over the top great. We sat at the bar outside, which was a great ambiance and we talked to no less than 5 different employees. Wife ordered the Nashville hot shrimp & grits appetizer as a meal (it's big enough and makes a great lunch). I ordered the Creole Grouper which was great. It has perfectly cooked sweet potato, rice, crunchy cabbage, kale, and a zesty lobster cream sauce. I will definitely have it again. A great addition to UTC but I'd recommend you get reservations for dinner and the happy hour from 3-6 looks great, with half price apps and drink discounts. I thought the food here was great. I tried the whipped feta, and the crispy Thai shrimp appetizers and they were both really delicious. I think they should have included a little bit more bread with the whipped feta. For lunch, I had the boys a short rib tacos, they came with chips and salsa, and the salsa had a slight sweet tang to it, which I really liked, especially paired with the tacos. Someone in my party had a Szechuan noodles, and they looked absolutely delicious. I know what I'll be ordering next time I go there. The only unpleasant part of my dining experience was the restaurant was open to the outside, and there were a LOT of flies. Not really the fault of the restaurant, but it was hard to keep them off of us and our food. read more

Our server was knowledgeable and prompt, the food, and I mean everything we ordered, was outstanding. For all the mediocre places to eat, Kitchen Social is a too flight experience. Review - Kitchen Social Sarasota My sister and I visited Kitchen Social Sarasota and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. We put our name in for a table for two. While waiting, we were asked if we would be willing to sit at a round table with four other guests. We politely declined. We were then asked to come look at the same table anyway, and after seeing it, we again declined as we were hoping for a private table. We had just lost our father the day before and simply wanted a quiet place to sit together, talk, and decompress. We were not in the mindset to share a table or engage socially with others, which we tried to convey politely. After continuing to wait, we were then shown to an outdoor area that was very windy and cold, which didn't feel comfortable or appropriate given the circumstances. At that point, we decided to leave. I understand restaurants can be busy and trying to accommodate guests efficiently, but a bit more sensitivity and flexibility would have gone a long way. This was a difficult day for us, and we were just looking for a quiet, comfortable space to be together. read more

We've been twice. Both times the food was incredible. We will be back. We have to try everything. Great setting. A nice staff. My only complaint is that happy hour is at the bar or bar tables only- but the restaurant is very open concept, so there's not any difference between being in the bar table and at a regular table to not receive happy hour specials. read more

Great first visit for 3 of us last Sunday for brunch. Delicious food, excellent waitress, etc. Loved it. A week later, 6 of us l, all adults, arrived for brunch without a reservation at 11am. Restaurant was less than half full. Host and hostess explained they had too many reservations and had to seat us "outside" which, at 11AM, was in the direct sun in Sarasota which was already 85 degrees. Then, host separated us into two tables, and said they couldn't seat us together, couldn't push tables together, couldn't accommodate a large party like ours, and had no other options. Granted, they said they had a lot of reservations, but the host also said "our kitchen has chefs and they can't accommodate this many guests. So, I was confused--they couldn't give us a table for 6, or they couldn't make us food? Weird. Then, he (the host) says, "if you want bunch, you can go to Blu Kozina," which is a new Mediterranean restaurant nearby we haven't tried, and weren't hoping to try today. Idk if that's a sister restaurant or what, but sort of wild to suggest instead of returning later or trying to accommodate a party of 6 in literally any other way, including asking us to wait, for a table, which we would've, he suggested we eat elsewhere. I promise we were not rude. We don't make a fuss. We just looked at them and saw the tables they were putting menus on and said "I'm so sorry, we'll just go." At the host stand, as we're leaving, the host says, "next time call for a reservation, we don't do them online, just call," and then he says, "yeah, we just have way too many reservations today and our chefs can only make so many dishes," so we left. Spent $300 at Cheesecake Factory instead. So, heads up, apparently kitchen has sincere issues with making enough food to meet demand? Or something? And a party of 6 is unable to be seated together on a weekend at 11am without a reservation. Make sure you call for a reservation. read more

Such a pleasant surprise! We didn't feel like cooking on a Tuesday night and decided to try out the new Kitchen Social at UTC. The space is beautiful with a relaxed coastal atmosphere, service was superb and the food delicious. We had a pizza for starters, which was fresh & delicious. We learned the crust was made using a sourdough starter they brought from their Ohio restaurant. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had fish and chips for our main course, both were so good! And the best part was the bill at the end-- surprisingly reasonable prices, especially considering the location. We highly recommend and look forward to returning. read more
