10/10 experience!! It is hard to find good food on AMI but Harry's was a hit! The chicken tenders were so fresh, the burgers were homemade with a ciabatta bun! The service was excellent! Our server was so friendly and enjoyable to talk with as she gave us so many good recommendations. Stopped here for lunch and sat inside due to the chilly temps! Inside is a little time capsule: dark wood paneling, small bar, and unique box guitars lining the walls. Menu is small and simple but delicious. Blackened chicken and the Caesar were wonderful! There is an outdoor patio and live music most nights. Stopped in with my brothers last week while on vacation; FOOD; we were going to eat there but decided that their pricing was much to high for such a limited, and bland menu, so we left and ate elsewhere. We ordered calamari and bacon wrapped shrimp, which each appetizer was $18 and the shrimp was for only 5 pieces of shrimp. The service was fairly quick, we got our food within 10 mins of ordering, and upon eating I spotted a piece of hair on my shrimp so I kindly notified the waitress and she quickly took care of it. Can you believe in one dining experience at Harry's Grill on AMI we had multiple undesirable issues: -We waited 15 minutes after being seated to be greeted by our "server" Jill to take our drink order. -One of our group at our table of 8 did not receive his correct side dish -And incredibly another one NEVER EVER received his ice tea or his dinner entree...all this without any update from our "server" Jill. We came as a group of eight to enjoy a meal together before attending The Island Players Theatre. This is not the end of the story... -As we expressed our dismay of our experience, the 'server' Jill D. called the police (3 officers total!) who arrived promptly to assess the situation because there was a misunderstanding of the bill. They realized that there was no issue and that our table of senior citizens (at $100 per couple including the forced mandatory 18% tip) were not the trouble makers that our 'server', Jill D. made us out to be. We intentionally made reservations at Harry's Grill on AMI for our special group evening of a fine dinner and a local play production that we always enjoy. Not only will the eight of us not return but neither will those who we will share this experience with. Another issue that amazed us is this - a normal fine restaurant's usual protocol the manager should have come to our table to ask what she could do to diffuse the situation. That never happened. That would have been nice before the police were called. Aside from the embarrassing situation with the police approaching our table in restaurant, we ended up with an incredible story for our group of our experience at Harry's Grill and a regret we did not get a photo with our fine local police force who were just following up on a crazy 'server's' complaint. Overall the onion rings were good, mahi a bit dry, mango risotto was amazing, other meals were ok. It's just hard to fully enjoy a group meal when everyone was not served their meals. read more

Another Anna Maria Island favorite, Harry's has a great seafood menu to accompany a wonderful patio and backyard dining al fresco. Tonight I had the 16 shrimp dinner - half blackened, half fried. While a little smaller sized shrimp than the jumbo expected, the flavors were outstanding. Fried is a must because everything is battered on site and is super tasty. I got the risotto side which was wonderful. The side salad was fresh, but truly a side portion. This was all chased down with a couple cold beers. NOTE: only beer and wine served at Harry's. Service was super friendly. I ate inside as a solo diner, and the bartender kept up with drink orders and inside diners alike with a pleasant ease (she was hustling but no one was without attention or care). We've been on the island on and off for 6 years and just tried Harry's for the first time. Had a reservation which during spring break you need. Sat inside - really tight squeeze as the place isn't very big and there's a lot of tables and a lot of people walking in and out. The service was solid - big beer menu. The food was also solid. Have some unique things like escargot and a cold catch of the day. Overall not super fancy and a nice island spot. A bit pricey for what it is but good experience. read more

In all 27 years coming to AMI, my family and I had never stopped in Harry's. We prefer the restaurants on the beach but given it has been very cold this year, we decided to try Harry's. And it DID NOT disappoint. The food was PHENOMENAL. The waitress told us to get anything breaded on the menu, as they hand-bread everything themselves, and my god, I never order chicken tenders on a menu but they were 10/10. Went to Harry's on a Thursday night recently, the food and staff were great. My only issue was the music was so loud I had to yell to talk to the people across the table from me. I would have liked it to be more like background music. Will I go back? Sure. I will just request a table far away from the music. read more

Today was a little disappointing. Heard there was going to be a Paella cooking event outdoors...We were excited and looking forward to a little more fanfare and a fun event. The event was lackluster at best. No fanfare, heck our waiter didn't even tell us there was paella as an option on the menu, no signs, not in the menus handed out today either. The station was all set up but "we" had to ask about it and the paella....our server didnt even know what market price was for the dish. $47.00 a plate, no flavor and / or seasoning in the dish in my opinion, mostly saffron rice and limited protein... 3 mussels, 3 shrimp, some calamari rings, a few chunks of white fish,?, served in a big bowl of mostly puffy tasteless saffron rice. One word..."disappointed" ! This is my second visit to Harry's. (my first trip - the BLT, was stellar.) ...also the BLT was around $17.99. Whatever was served as paella was like $50.00. I order my family dinner for curbside. when I arrived there was no parking or space for curbside. my meal was a $48 ribeye steak medium rare When I opened my meal it was the center portion of prime rib that was browned on the flat top to barely even pink. not a steak! Wow. read more

Really good place near pine street the shopping corridor in Anna Maria. Right on Gulf Drive across from public parking and right down the street from the Sandbar. We sat outside in a covered area on the stone patio. We ordered the appetizer of Fried Green Tomatoes which were excellent. I've had super greasy fried green tomatoes at Lady and Son's (Paula deans place in Savannah, Georgia) and those were so greasy I was sick but these were excellent. Just the right amount of breading and an amazing sauce with a hint of spice. Delicious. Would order again. For out late lunch / early dinner I had Harry's BLT with Seashell salad and Seashore fries. The sandwich was good although I asked for extra mayo because BLT's are best with a lot of mayo (in my opinion). It was on Ciabatta bread which was tasty. I opted to go with two sides (the sandwich comes with one) . The fries were seasoned so well they were delicious. I don't know what the seashell salad had in it but it was large seashell pasta with some kind of slightly sweet slightly orange dressing and peppers and celery and it was SO Good. My husband had Shrimp-a-plopza (fried blackened Shrimp) some cucumber salad and some (dirty?) rice. I sampled the cuke salad and it was so good. Rice was good too. I'm not a seafood girl so I didn't try the shrimp but he said it was excellent and some good sized shrimp. He brought home 10 shrimp because he was so full. Service was a tad slow but it was raining and sometimes people just don't know what to do with themselves when there is no one to serve and I get that. Our server was very nice. Dear Liz: Wanted to send you, and of course the rest of the Harry's staff, a thank you for a delightful experience on our last night on the island. Post-Labor Day weekend Tuesday night probably didn't have you expecting lots of business, but we rolled in 10 1/2 strong and we were fortunate enough to have you as our cuisine concierge. You recommended several cold adult beverages that were delightful, as well as a slew of starters to get us going. The onion rings, which you mentioned you were famous for, were exactly what was promised. The fried pickles were lovely. The okra was the best this 54-year-old has ever had. And I lived in the Carolinas for 7 years. I had the Philly cheesesteak, and as a Pennsylvania native, I can say it was spot on. My son had osso buco, which I had to explain to him what animal it was from, but it was authentically melt off the bone. So, everyone enjoyed their drinks, their apps, and their entrees. We appreciated the owner's/chef's/cook's dedication to making everything from scratch. It came through in every bite! But what we enjoyed the most was the delightful and accommodating staff. Especially you, Liz. I am glad your life journey took you to AMI, and we are blessed to have crossed paths with you. And you never know, your son and my daughter may eventually meet! Stay cool, Liz. Harry's is the equivalent of the hole of a hole in the wall bar, but at the beach in the best way possible. We came here on a weekday afternoon for a few drinks after lunch. It was a hot day but because of the fans and the shade we were still able to sit outside. The bar only serves beer and wine, which was not a problem for us. Service was quick and efficient. Definitely worth checking out and I will return the next time I am on Anna Maria Island. read more

We were pleasantly surprised by this place! I had two grouchy teens with me and it was 5:00 pm on a Saturday. We knew every place was going to be busy, and they were not wanting to wait. This place looks more like a nighttime bar but we liked on Yelp and the reviews were all amazing, so I was going to give it a try to appease the teens. I'm so glad we did. There was no wait and the menu looked like the teens would be happy. My older son got the mango salsa mahi with mashed potatoes and fries. He literally devoured it. My younger son has autism and is non verbal and got the quesadilla and fries kids meal and it was apparently approved because he ate it all. I just had a small salad but I added grilled shrimp. It was SO GOOD. The service was perfect. My two beers were nice and's cold. I would highly recommend Harry's. read more
