Restaurant is in a residential area so does sneak up on you a little bit! I loved that it was an old home--it felt like I was eating dinner in my kitchen! We were seated by the kitchen so could see them cooking. The service was fine, waiter probably could have checked in on us a little more and been bit quicker but overall, was good. We did the pear beignets for apps since they are a staple. They were good but nothing incredible. BUT, the pork chop was incredible. The crust was almost like a crème brûlée topping and went so well with the flavors and added nice crunch. We also go the kanpachi fish and felt the flavors of Brussels sprouts and purple sweet potato paired perfectly with it. Overall, I would 100% recommend an evening here and would totally come back!

Four desserts (citrus olive oil cake, cantaloupe sorbet, dark chocolate torte, orange creamsicle ice cream)

One of the best restaurants in the world. I visit Sarasota once a year and always look forward to dining here. The seafood dishes are consistently exceptional. This time, I had the arctic char, which was phenomenal--perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with a potato latke, beets, and an apple-arugula salad. What I love is that each fish dish is always unique and thoughtfully composed. The appetizers were also outstanding--the pickled peppers were sensational, and the roasted mushrooms were packed with flavor. For dessert, we couldn't choose just one, so we ordered all four. Each was fantastic. The orange creamsicle ice cream and cantaloupe sherbet were refreshingly unique, while the citrus olive oil cake and dark chocolate torte were absolutely divine. Our server, Cathryn (sp?), was outstanding and made the evening even more enjoyable.

I love to dine at local restaurants that have been nominated for James Beard Best Chef awards. Indigenous is the only Sarasota restaurant to receive recent recognition. Indigenous has a limited menu, with a heavy focus on seafood. The restaurant's name emphasizes its locally sourced meats, seafood and ingredients. When I made my reservation, they only seat solo parties at the bar. Gary, the bartender and server took good care of me. The downside is I stared at wine bottles and beer in the refrig all night. When you read reviews on Yelp, the two menu items you must order are the Wild Mushroom Bisque, which is heavenly, and the Parmesan Beignets, which are super yummy. They are served with local honey and pears. Amazing! Gary said the Cheshire Pork Chop was his favorite, so that supported my choice. Loved the caramelized brown sugar. What was missing was the buzz or energy that I find at great restaurants. Some of that is created by guests, some by the staff. The bar dining area lacked that.

Awesome spot, highly recommend! Everything about our meal was perfect! I loved the ambiance and atmosphere, very farm to table/neighbor gem type of place. We basically ordered the entire menu! The staff was very friendly tooX The Parmesan beignets were very light/fluffy, and very tasty with the local honey and thyme. The wild mushroom bisque was a definite favorite. Lots of flavor! Snapper crudo: was a nice, light, perfect summer dish. The baked scallops: very unique flavor. I loved the combination with the braised potatoes and Parmesan. The iberico pork chop was huge and very flavorful, full bacon flavor. The Kanpachi had a very unique flavor profile to it, very green and summer like. For dessert: the pickled Florida blueberries dish was outstanding. Loved the combination with the lemon cheesecake and shortbread. The orange blossom honey pie was good too. I needed a nap after this meal. But seriously, everything was incredible!

We haven't dined at Indifenous since 2020, but the food , service and overall ambiance still stands up to the test. The only issue is what to order - limited menu, but all super dishes. Maybe only note would be having a chicken or beef / steak dish on the menu, but the seafood is excellent and innovative.

Fantastic food, outstanding experience, great service with a delightful atmosphere! A perfect restaurant experience. Our out-of-town guests raved about this place. The mushroom soup, a staple on the otherwise always changing menu, is a must try! Love the way the restaurant is tucked into a house in a neighborhood, very homey feeling!

We had a wonderful dining experience here last month. The restaurant is very small and intimate located in a renovated house. They do have outdoor seating as well as street parking and paid parking in the lot across the street. The things that we felt stood out as fantastic that I would recommend would be: The mushroom bisque (not gluten-free) The pork chop (gluten-free) The gelato/ ice cream ( the topper on it is not gluten-free). The pork chop may or may not still be on the menu because the menu changes weekly, but holy cow, that was one of thee best pork chops I have ever had and the potato and Brussel sprouts hash that it came with was perfection. The pork chop was so tender and easy to cut. I drove all the way from Tampa for it, and I was not disappointed. I would highly recommend this restaurant dining here was a 5/5.

One of the best restaurants in Sarasota. Amazing New American cuisine with incredible elevation of classic flavors Pros - fast and friendly service. The wild mushroom bisque is mind-blowing and packed with flavor. The Iberico pork chop is hands down the best pork chop I have ever had. They place a thin layer of crispy caramelized sugar over the pork that mimics a creme brulee and it pairs so well with the fattiness of the pork belly Cons - none! Definitely make a reservation at this place. Their cooking skills and ingenuity of flavor combinations is absolutely worth it.

This was the best meal we have had in a while. We started with the mushrooms and green curry fish dip. Both were great but the mushrooms were the dish of the night. We also shared the scallops and beef pappardelle. The scallops came with potatoes that were cooked perfectly and complemented the scallops well. The pasta was also tasty. Our server made great wine recommendations. The restaurant had a cool vibe being that it was a house that was converted into a restaurant. If you're in Sarasota, Indigenous is a must try.

Also ordered include the blackened grouper sandwich, billionaire burger, and tempura shrimp appetizer. Our group loved every entree. The cocktails were also refreshing. I really loved my jalapeño watermelon margarita. Our server was wonderful - very friendly and quick service. Definitely an enjoyable lunch or dinner spot!

The parking place had ample parking where you needed a mobile app to pay for your parking. There was a larger souvenir store there if you needed to kill time before your seating. Once it was our time for our dinner reservations, we were greeted and seated at our table. Our waitress was a bit sarcastic or had a witty comments that didn't sit well with my kids. When ordering our foods, the kids asked what type of drinks they had since it was not listed on the menu. She said Coke but didn't elaborate that they had Coke products. Since she said Coke so fast our daughter didn't hear the response and asked her the question again where she just said that's a great question and ignored her and moved on. Food wise - we had the Peruvian ceviche, Peruvian chicken, I think I had a special grouper dish. The food was good. We were able to eat everything and the kids enjoyed their kids burger meals. Outside of the waitress comments, the place placed nice modern music to listen to and had the basketballs games playing on the tv at the bar.

When we first entered, there was just one table occupied, it was early afternoon. The music was a bit too much for the setting. The environment was clean. But, it took 5 minutes or more for someone to come out and greet us. We went to the restroom and almost left, thinking they were closed. But, finally they noticed us. Thank goodness, because I had one of the best BLTAs of my life. The bread looked boring, but it was soft and the perfect blank slate for the seitan bacon, tomato, avocado, and mayo. Very tasty! My husband had the Tofu Rueben. The tofu was a thick slab and the faux corned beef idea would have been better as thin seitan slices. But, he still enjoyed it. Both came with a small salad of just lettuce. I enjoyed my meal (obviously) but I think they could improve their hospitality. Prices indicate a higher level of service. Maybe to go is best.

The inside atmosphere is bright and airy and although airy often translates to loud, Dry Dock thoughtfully put noise dampening panels on the ceiling. As far as food, I don't think you can go wrong. I always get something with grouper whether it be an entree, sandwich or tacos. On my most recent visit I got the grouper filet with coconut shrimp because I had originally been eyeing up the coconut shrimp as an appetizer. Ultimately, we decided to get the rock crab claws for an appetizer which were good but more work than I planned even though they were pre-cracked. I felt like a Neanderthal trying to eat those crab claws in such a nice restaurant. No offense to the Neanderthals, of course! I have no idea what my husband had as it disappeared. The menu - though not expansive - offered a fish, a steak, a chicken, a pasta, a burger, wagyu meatloaf, salads and several other options, appetizers, a full bar & wine. The four of us were very pleased with the food, service - and live music (guitar/singer was excellent). Overall experience, 4.8 stars out of 5. For that, we'd definitely return. However - the parking experience was a fiasco. Given this was our first visit, my husband circled the hotel/restaurant twice as the clogged pull-in area was full and there was no valet in sight. Also / no signage to direct us. Finally - my husband opted to pull into a reserved lot behind the hotel/restaurant and temporarily parked as I sought someone to direct us.... I walked past the valet "station" - nobody there (perhaps busy with other guests) and I headed to the restaurant to request assistance with parking. My husband followed shortly as he found the valet and asked if ok to leave the car - the male valet handed us a parking placard and said he'd take care of it, no problem. Ten minutes later a young lady valet approached our table - telling us she dug thru my glovebox to find us - asking if we realized she could have us towed. Beyond rude. We attempted to tell her the other valet had checked us in - but she continued down a shaming diatribe at our table - telling us how folks park back there illegally, etc. When we asked to speak to a manager, the young lady valet informed us that her company was a third party and she was not employed by the restaurant so our dissatisfaction with her rude & threatening behavior was nothing the hotel or restaurant manager could do anything about.... Eventually she walked away /her nasty attitude intact - and the male valet squared things so we could enjoy a lovely dinner. When exiting, no valet in sight again, we waited at the pull-in area where two other couples stood next to cars asking us where they were supposed to park or find the valet. Another couple were standing next to their car asking where the valets went, waiting for their keys to depart. Fiasco. Time for a better valet system! So Wink Wink gets a 5 but the valet is a big negative. We live here year round and there are too many options in Sarasota to deal with a valet threatening to tow us at our dining table.
