At the time of this review Kitchen Social has been open for about 2 months. The place itself was a modest but well laid out floor plan and the accessible parking was very nice. Being in Montgomery there is always a chance of having parking issues. Olivia took care of us and really the entire staff seemed to drop by to say hello and have a conversation. It was done very well and timed right with food delivery. I always hate it when an owner or manager comes out right as you are taking a bite and forces a conversation. This wasn't the case here. We had a legitimate conversation about Florida and the holiday season. The Social part of the name is definitely earned. The food was top notch with a very good price. Even with deserts and appetizers along with a few cocktails it was well under what I would have expected. I'll definitely be returning! I recommend reservations as it was very busy. read more

Outstanding ambiance, delicious food and attentive, helpful service! Our group of 4 found the dining room to be warm and energetic, bordering on loud. The open scratch kitchen allowed us to watch the staff expertly and calmly prepare and present dishes for service to guests. The food came out quickly and at perfect temperature. Several of us enjoyed different entree salads, all of which were delicious, while another enjoyed the crab crusted snapper, which was also great enjoyed. We shared the cheddar and scallion biscuits, which were delectable, especially with the honey butter. Our server suggested the tres leche for dessert, which was outstanding, and we added the chocolate cake as well, which we all enjoyed. Overall, we had a lovely meal and will be back soon. read more

This is the 5th Kitchen social opened and the only one in Cincinnati. It still has new-restaurant buzz (ie crowds) in Montgomery so I'd recommend getting reservations or sitting at the bar. The inside is open and welcoming. If you can associate traffic flow with river flow, then you get a beautiful view of a stream of cars driving by on Montgomery road. It was much more mesmerizing than I had imagined. One little touch I like is that they intentionally have the local brewpub, MPH, beer on tap. Sort of a local vibe. The interior decor feels more corporate (professionally decorated where people use words like "aspire" and "elevated"). Nice but no feels. For dinner we started with Chips and Guac. The taste was great and we loved the pepitas in the Guacamole. The quantity of chips was laughable. Any local Mexican restaurant will give you infinite chips for free yet here you pay $10 you get a handful. I had the Harvest Salad with Salmon as my main and it was quite good. The roasted sweet potatoes in the salad were a unique and nice touch. My wife has the tuna bowl and it was great as well. We live within walking distance so will give it another try here in a few months to see how it settles in as it finds it's goove in the Village of Montgomery. read more

I looked on Yelp to see what was a good local restaurant in Cincinnati and this place came up as a recommendation. You did not lead me astray. It was a fantastic experience. Our server Nick was super nice and the food was amazing. I would 10 out of 10 recommend this place. We had the whipped feta appetizer which was phenomenal and I had the chicken and waffles as my entree. I have had chicken and waffles at other places but it has never been anything like this. This new spot in Montgomery is so fun! It's definitely poppin with business. We were there on a Monday night and the place was still busy. Easy enough to grab a seat at the bar or a high top. They have garage doors they open in the summer. The service was amazing (we sat at the bar) and our favorite thing we ordered was the pizza. It was happy hour so the appetizers were 50% off and the drinks were $3 off. We loved the ambience, their service and the food. We will definitely be back. read more

Ordered the lobster bisque, harvest salad, miso cod and blackened shrimp capellini. The only thing we were able to eat was the blackened shrimp capellini and salad as the other 2 items were way tooooooooooo SALTY!! Gosh, I wish people would taste the food before serving them. We would be back for the blackened shrimp capellini as it was delicious. The harvest salad was just ok, had better ones. I wouldn't buy it again though. I've always had great service every time I've been! The restaurant has a very open concept with very little insulation so the noise level is very high. It's pretty hard to listen to people sitting right next to you. But the food is great every time. For brunch, the crème brûlée French toast is a my favorite in town. You can't go wrong with their signature cheddar and scallion biscuits for an appetizer. The fish and chips is my go to entree order. The blackened shrimp capellini is great too. Their fries that came with the hamburger were very tasty. MIL had the grilled chicken with kale and potatoes. She had never had kale before and devoured it in its entirety. Had a great experience here! I LOVE that they have a full separate Gluten Free menu! There were SO MANY options and they were real options, not just salads! I opted for the Chicken with Kale and Sweet Potatoes and it was not only a huge portion, but bursting with flavor! I ended up taking almost half my meal home as leftovers since it was so much food! I sadly could not eat the biscuits that come with the table as they were not GF, but they looked tasty and everyone else at the table enjoyed them. Everyone else also greatly enjoyed their meals, from chicken tenders to salad to pastas. The staff was very nice and accommodative, with the manager stopping over multiple times to check in on things. It was very crowded in the restaurant for a week night and therefore was slightly loud, but you could still talk without having to yell. To be honest, this place was not memorable. I forget I ate here most of the time. If not for Yelp I would have forgotten to make a review. The most memorable part of this experience was the cheddar and scallion biscuits. They were really good and the butter was a great addition. There was a mimosa flight that was rather boring. I was in Chicago earlier in the year and that mimosa flight that was full flutes all being held up by a stand. This was just a few shot glasses of meh drinks. I would give it another shot, but my first time didn't impress on me too much. Staff was friendly and attentive and the place was clean and had an interesting layout. Well first let me say this has been on my radar since they opened and I recommend to get reservations. There is open seating at the bar. When i walked in Hostess immediately greeted and was nice. I canceled my table and grabbed a chair at the bar. Bar is two sided so plenty of seats. Plenty of groups of 2 & 3 at the bar. Spacious which i appreciated. Ambiance is very bright with lighting but not over bearing. Bar tender super nice, was on top of their area. The menu is definitely an eclectic mix but everything I saw come out looked good. I ordered a sangria, fish and chips and the brown butter cake with an added scoop of vanilla ice cream. Fish and chips was perfect portion as I was hungry but not starving. The bar tender recommended their butger which i will come back and try. My food was hot and fresh, everything was seasoned. Cake was a delicious ending. Will most definitely be back! read more

There's a good reason why this place is so busy! My friend and I waited a little under an hour for a table for 2 on Friday night. Once seated, the food and service made up for the wait. Our server, Gray, was affable and helpful. She suggested that we start with the biscuits and they did not disappoint. Dense and buttery- I could have eaten an entire skillet, but fortunately I restrained myself because there was more to come! We split a social side salad which was huge. Even split, I was so full after the biscuits and salad that I only took a few bites of my entrée. I am so happy that i have the butternut squash carbonara to finish tomorrow though! Silky sauce, perfectly al dente noodles, and sweet cubes of squash all make for a flavorful and well-balanced dish. Finally, although it's not on the menu, any of the infusion cocktails can be made as mocktails. I highly recommend the social sunrise- what it lacked in complexity, it made up for in lovely sweetness. Our high top table near the bar was comfortable and although the restaurant was crowded, it wasn't too loud for conversation. Kitchen Social exceeded my expectations. Well worth a visit. read more
