Love these oversize drawers!

Huma was amazing at Kitchen and Flooring Depot! She was so patient with us as we changed our plans several times. In the end we got just what we wanted....a gorgeous kitchen with new cabinets, counter and flooring thanks to her invaluable input. All for a very reasonable cost. I would highly recommend her and her sister Fozia to redo your kitchen!

My kitchen is beautiful Kitchen and Flooring Depot did a very nice job. Fozia is very personable and helpful. I had a very good experience and highly recommend to anyone if you are thinking of remodeling your kitchen or bathroom.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience working with the owners of Kitchen and Flooring Depot on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington. The owners, two sisters, Fozia and Huma, are experts in kitchen design. Both women have been working in the field of kitchen planning, layout, and installation for more than 20 years--and it shows. After making an appointment with Fozia, we discussed our old kitchen layout and what we wanted in a new kitchen design. Fozia created a new plan on paper, taking into account all our needs and wishes. Later that week, we had a few more questions and Huma met with us to address all of our concerns. Then, Fozia came to our house and took further measurements to gain a full and accurate understanding of our kitchen space. When all of us were in full agreement, Fazia ordered the cabinets and told us exactly when the cabinets would arrive and when they would be installed. She then helped us select a quartzite countertop and sent us to visit the stone fabricator to select our slab of rock. All the installers were careful and courteous in our home. The cabinet installation took place over two days and the countertop was installed a week later. What professionals!

Wren Kitchens - One of the many cute displays

Wren Kitchens

I've done two kitchen remodels in the last 3 years. One with a high end remodeling contractor of a…read morelarge kitchen and one with Wren. Both resulted in kitchens I was very happy with. When going in to a kitchen remodel you have to keep in mind that it is probably the most disruptive renovation you can do to a house. The process is painful even when it goes smoothly. Delayes are inevitable and happened in both my projects. I liked working with the Wren designer and software. I spent 2 sessions but could have spent more. There are so many decisions with long lasting consequences it can be overwhelming. But the visualization was super helpful. And we could walk around the show room to see exactly what it looked like. I really liked this part. The cabinet installation was also well done. The installers completed all their work in two days with only a few punchlist items left over which they fixed a few weeks later. There were some non standard items that they handled well. They cut a non-standard corner on my butcher block counter top (which I love and recommend for at least part of your counter) I drew the line and they made the cut. But I'm the kind of person who is knowledgeable about construction and making permanent decisions. Which brings me to my biggest caveat with Wren. You are not buying a complete installed kitchen. You will need to hire and coordinate a plumber, electrician, carpenter and demo your old kitchen. If that is not something you are comfortable doing then you might be better off with a remodel contractor who can handle the whole job. There is no easy solution to a new kitchen. But even contractor projects can go sideways with delays and mistakes. Wren customer service could be better, but I could tell they were trying. And some things fall through the cracks. Without a contractor you are left to deal with some problems on your own. For what they offer I think Wren has a great product. It's been several months and I'm very happy. If anything they are guilty of over selling what they offer. It's not a painless process as they might make it seem. But if you go in with the right attitude and know you ability, you can get a great well designed from Wren. (With interest free financing for 5 years which no contractor will ever give you)

We did a little research and found DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen. A great decision. If you're looking for quality, versatility, reliability and professionalism, they are a perfect choice. We looked at multiple designs on a computer and were immediately able to pick materials and options from their showroom displays. They were no pressure but up front and honest about cost, time frame and what they would and wouldn't do. (They won't do cheap.) I have always been very wary of contractors and their "promises". Dream Maker kept to their word in every phase of the project. Every person who worked on our kitchen is employed directly by Dream Maker and they were courteous, professional and timely at all times. We are extremely happy with our new kitchen and highly recommend Dream Maker. They put in new cabinets, new flooring, new countertop, new sink and worked around and re-installed our appliances. Everything was done to our delight. We have been using the finished kitchen for over two months. A couple of small issues that emerged have been resolved at our convenience. Finally, I would repeat what I was always told growing up: You get what you pay for. Dream Maker is probably not the cheapest, but they are worth the cost.

Galaxy - runner cut, seamed and installed

"Gimme three steps, gimme three steps, mister Gimme three…read moresteps towards the door?" (Lynyrd Skynyrd) After we had our hardwood floors and steps sanded and refinished, we decided to pretty up those steps with a carpet runner, which explains why we visited Galaxy Discount Carpet Store today. That decision ended up being a FIVE STAR experience. Their two floor showroom is just incredible! Sample boards, rolls stacked on the floor in rows, area rugs hanging from the ceiling, gorgeous stuff everywhere. We met with Charlie and explained to him what we were looking for. He said that staircase runners can either be pre-manufactured in big rolls, or custom cut from carpeting meant for rooms. We knew we wanted a runner in some shade of gray to complement our wall color, and decided on a carpet runner to be cut from a big grayish roll and then finished with black binding along the edges, to complement the black stair rail and contrast with the white stair risers. It was installed 72 hours later, and that was pretty amazing in it's own right. Communication with Galaxy was great. Charlie was a dream to work with, the installers called us the day before install to confirm the date and time window, and the van with two workers arrived as scheduled mid-afternoon and did a neat professional job on the install. Charlie's price was $140 less than one we had from a flooring company out in our neck of the woods, and the carpet quality was better at Galaxy. Everything went well, and the stairs look great!

The installers they use get paid by the job, they rush, finish in 1 day and get out of there. It's the worst "work" I have ever seen. This was the most expensive and time consuming mistake of our entire renovation. Customer service made the situation worse. Megan at the store was rude, dismissive, not solution oriented, and repeatedly blamed the customer instead of taking ownership of clearly documented installation failures. Measurements were incorrect, communication was horrific. Megan treats you like you should know how to design a kitchen and that you do it every day. She offers zero help and guidance. I had to call corporate to escalate the situation to have a second installer fix the kitchen which still was not properly corrected due to how terrible the first installers work was. Corporate refused to give me any sort of concession or discount. I honored my contract and paid on time. Cabinets To Go did not deliver professional installation, quality control, or accountability. Choose another company, I promise if you have an issue with this company they will not make it right. They will leave you with a kitchen that looks like it was done by a do it yourself homeowner. I recently when to Home Depot and spoke to a Wren Kitchen Representative. They have an amazing display of cabinets. So many beautiful option and everyone seemed so helpful. The cabinets come assembled already so there will be less margin for error. Cabinets to Go are not assembled and the installers put them together unevenly and bang them up. If I can help someone avoid the stress of what we just went through, I hope this review helps. It is so upsetting to look at my kitchen. It is terrible. But at least all of the big CEOs are making the big buck at cabinets to go. They don't care about people like us, remember that.

While many were friendly and professional, the quotes I received felt unusually high for the scope of work being offered. That was not the case with Connecticut Custom Creations. Their pricing was fair, transparent, and very reasonable. As with any new contractor, I wasn't sure what to expect at first. However, Dustin was an absolute pleasure to work with. He guided me through every step of the process and made everything feel easy and stress free. He also provided great advice when selecting finishes and fixtures, helping me choose options that coordinated beautifully and enhanced the overall design. I couldn't be happier with the results, and I am already planning to have my second bathroom remodeled with them as well. If you are considering a bathroom renovation or any major home project, including a kitchen or basement, I highly recommend giving Connecticut Custom Creations a call. You will not be disappointed.

This time, Renoldo came with his assistant to install one door for $ 1,500.00 and to patch over three huge cracks in the attic ceiling and wall that the company renovated in September, just six months ago. In short, wrong door knobs (twice!), a gap between the door frame and door (which they didn't want to fix), and nearly two, frustrating hours texting Dustin, the manager, who claimed he was right about everything and wouldn't take responsibility for an unsatisfactory job. I had to take doorknob pictures to prove my point because he insisted that he had purchased the right doorknob. WTF! I had to put up with his sarcasm, denials, name-calling, and gaslighting to get him to do the job. One door and a lot of unnecessary stress and aggravation. Never again, even if they paid me a million dollars, will I EVER work with this company again. Addendum: after much ado over everything, the company bought the proper color for the wood filler and filled all gaps and cracks left after they redid the door, which they should do with every door they replace that leaves ugly gaps in people's hardwood floors, even if the prior door installer was considered by them to have installed it improperly.
