Don't ever use this place! You've been warned!!! They will ruin every step throughout the process. They will install defective cabinets and ruin the products they are installing then damage your walls and ceilings and say it's in their contract that stuff will get damaged. Stay away from this place!!! They also make you pay for everything upfront! They sell cabinets that come from another country and then they assemble them in Hartford Ct. They have brackets all around them as you can see they are screwed together. Those brackets interfere with under cabinet lighting. Most of the shelves aren't level and the cabinet faces aren't seated properly. Seriously stay away from this place! Project management has zero designing skills as you'll have parts that don't function properly! The customer service department will keep on telling you that they're going to resolve the issue. They will ask you to do certain things and you will feel like it was all just wasted time. They have no interest in resolving any of your concerns or any of your issues, they will just leave you stuck, there's nowhere to go, so I'm telling you, right now!, avoid this place like it's the plague read more

Express kitchen more than exceeded my expectations. I have to be honest. I was alittle nervous because I read so not so good reviews however, we had really great luck with them . Annette helped us with everything. Highly recommend asking for her. Everything came in on time. Everyone showed up on time and our kitchen was done in 3 1/2 weeks . I found Annette in Newington very difficult to work with.Once she had designed the kitchen Annette wouldn't provide me with the rendering. I wanted to show my family what I was getting. Once I told her I wouldn't be buying from Express Kitchen she emailed me the renderings. Previous to that Annette told me Express Kitchens didn't provide the customer with the renderings. So I wasted $70 having my kitchen measured. My advice is go to Lowes and gave Nick design your kitchen. I am much happier with Lowe. read more

Note that to sit down with a designer and get a quote, you need to set an appointment. I recommend calling ahead and arrive early to have some time to breeze the showroom before your appointment. Annette, who designed my kitchen, was awesome. I knew I wanted a white cabinet, and their base model white (Quebec) cabinets were a great fit for my condo. Even though it's a "thermofoil" cabinet and not technically wood, it still felt and looked like a quality, sturdy cabinet. I already had my dimensions, and she was able to draw out my kitchen perfectly. Her program also gave me a clear and accurate visual representation of what it would look like. I was impressed with how quickly she worked. She also gave great recommendations, like adding a small "arch" piece below the sink wall cabinet to give it that extra fine touch. My condo has a small 12" wide cabinet between the wall and my dishwasher. She suggested instead of having 1 cabinet, use it for 3 separate drawers. What a fantastic idea! Great place for silverware, cooking utensils, etc. She also was able to tell me what exact dimensions I had to work with for my OTR Microwave, fridge, stove, and dishwasher. Thankfully I haven't bought them yet! They sent out a guy to measure my kitchen to double check everything. He was on time and prompt. No drama there. I hope the installation goes just as smoothly. To do my whole kitchen condo (galley style, 2 8' walls opposing each other) - about 12 pieces including granite countertops (25 sq. ft.), under mount sink and faucet, and cabinet hardware, was $5,500 installed. Just in case anyone wanted an idea of cost. I qualified for the 12 month financing but ended up just financing half of it. I definitely recommend express kitchens for your 1 stop shop solution. I will update my review after installation, which hopefully goes without a hitch. Fingers crossed! UPDATE: 7/20/16 - Express came in and installed my cabinets yesterday and it turned out perfect! They did my whole kitchen in just a few hours. I am super impressed. The countertop people are coming tomorrow to do the template. Overall this has been a great experience. read more

*Edited original rating from 1-star and will say they finally assisted in resolving my issue. * First, Charged 30% re-stocking fee on a cabinet that wasn't even removed from their warehouse. Didn't even get credited back the rest until I demanded it two weeks later. 2nd, Purchased and took home 4 cabinets. The farmhouse cabinet was requested to be one that would fit a 33 inch farm sink. I have purchased and tried 2 different 33 inch farm house sinks -waiting for each to arrive only to find neither fit the cabinet! - the cabinet is too small for 33 inch sinks. They have been called multiple times with little return or assistance to rectify. Currently without a sink in my kitchen because of this, with 3 kids to try to prep meals for each day and they have no concern. read more

My husband and I have had the WORST experience here. If you have any desire to order from here, don't. On January 17th we purchased a custom made bathroom vanity, with the assistance of Jody. Jody informed us it would be ready within 7 days. We were not expecting such a fast turn around and ended up paying our contractor extra to complete the bathroom. A week passed and we did not think much of it. A week later my husband received a text message that stated pick up your vanity "TILL " February 23 and we were provided with two time blocks. My husband rented a pick-up truck and drove to the Hartford location. Once he arrived, he was informed that the item was in fact NOT ready and would NOT be ready until AFTER February 23. Annoyed my husband made multiple calls to Express Kitchens to find out why it went from 7 days to over a month to get our item. No explanation could be given to him other than "we don't know what happened." They offered free delivery on the item for the inconvenience. We were informed we would receive a call on February 18th to confirm a delivery date. We received a call, which was automated where we were given a date for delivery- we were not even given an option. We ended up having to reschedule due to work schedules. On February 20th my husband went back to Express Kitchens and spoke to Jody. Jody informed him that there was an error in the system and that our vanity was not actually in stock. I then went to Express Kitchens and spoke with Jody. I told her how this has been a horrible experience and I wanted to speake to the Manager. Jody put me in touch with Kim, who greatly lacked any customer service skill and was rude and offered no other remedy. I was told there was nothing else that could be done and essentially I should be thankful for the free delivery. We received our order FINALLY on February 28th. Everything arrived in boxes. Our contractor came over today to assemble the vanity and big surprise Jody put in the wrong measurement for the countertop. So we have an 18 inch depth vanity with a 22inch depth counter top. My husband called Express Kitchens, spoke to Jody and her response was "oh my, I will call you back to see what I can do." She returned his call five hours later. Guess what, if we want the correct depth we have to pay an extra $400 for them to customize it. This place is run by incompetent and inept staff who lack customer care (Jody). I will never do business at this place and I discourage anyone for going there. It has been a pure nightmare. read more

I just purchased cabinets for a wine room I recently added to my home and the woman there Ann Morales did a pretty amazing job for me. In fact, I had gone in with a design and she actually tweaked it and made it better than what I had created. She was polite, professional, knowledgeable and made subtle suggestions that not only improved what I had, but also added significantly more function to my new room. I had already thought my design was perfect, but I was wrong... it's actually perfect now! Thanks Ann, your touches were exactly what my new wine room needed. It was your unassuming demeanor and recommendations that really made my experience a great one.
