She was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the process, reviewing options based on preference/budget and answering numerous questions; she developed a good sense of my taste and the space, making wonderful design suggestions. She also worked with my contractor and kept me posted regarding various issues as they arose. For example, being aware of the cast iron tub I had selected (but not yet ordered), she alerted me to a manufacturing issue and limited stock. I ordered earlier than anticipated based on this, just before the product became significantly back-ordered at both DC area and online retailers. Throughout the process Jessica made me feel like a priority, despite the fact this was likely a very small job/order in comparison to others that she manages. Additionally, as part of my initial renovation planning, I visited area competitors and explored online options. I found the pricing at Somerville Bath & Kitchen Store very competitive; had this not been the case, I still would've chosen SBKS in order to have a reputable local retailer/supplier with wonderful service and excellent product knowledge! They definitely made my renovation more pleasant and less stressful!

So after deciding to save more, we reached out again when we ready and they did honor our original quote. Just to add, I had several places come out - a lot were over budget and some not, but KBR definitely was by far the best, not only did they listen to my budget and kept it under, they also provided drawings/renderings of what it would look like and we loved their vision. Our experience with them once we signed off on the project was wonderful as well. We were quoted about 3-4 weeks and it took about 4 weeks overall (however, after the 3rd week, our kitchen was all installed and were able to use it! They were just finishing up the pantry and other small details). We had a positive experience overall with the management, project manager, contractors etc. They also did call a few times after the project, to make sure everything was going alright and if there was anything that we needed to be fixed, etc. There was a counter that was uneven in one corner, so they did call the counter people and have them adjust it. I am very happy we chose them and our new kitchen looks great! It hadn't been updated since the 1970's so they totally gutted it and remodeled from scratch!

I used KBR to renovate our master bath 8 years ago. I hired them after doing research on multiple…read morecompanies and getting several quotes. I recall having a very easy time working with the project manager (Armagan), but I don't recall him being on site to do much supervision. I basically trusted the crew to do the job correctly. One of the things they did was build a custom shower for us. Right after they finished we had issues with it - specifically, the floor wasn't graded properly so water would sit on the sides. They regraded it and it was slightly better. Then within the year's warranty, they had to come back and redo some of the flooring because water was getting behind the tile and causing it to crack. After that, there weren't any obvious problems, but on occasion when there were some cracks in the grout, water would leak down to the first floor. We dealt with it by caulking and trying not spray water in one direction, but we were afraid there was just constant moisture in the floors that was creating mildew. A few months ago I touched the ceiling and my finger poked right through b/c the drywall had disintegrated. Fast forward to last week - water leaked through the ceiling again, and we had the ceilings opened to see what was happening and now we're in the midst of a major shower rebuild. Apparently they completely did the shower incorrectly. Parts of the shower did not have any Durock (apparently, there is supposed to be a layer of Durock on top of the wood followed by a rubber lining over the surfaces before you lay tile). There are portions of the shower that only had dry wall, or nothing but the wood. Also, where they did have Durock and rubber, apparently it was the wrong order (the rubber was on the wood, with the Durock on top). Also, they painted the ceiling with regular ceiling paint rather than bathroom paint, so it was peeling horribly. So we have to get that redone also. We also suspect they did some of the pipes incorrectly. The bathroom smells like sulphur at random times, and a plumber once told us they were supposed to build a pipe that releases that gas and didn't (hope it's not causing any major damage because we have no idea how to fix that problem without ripping up all the floors). It's so dispiriting to find this out years after a major remodel and all the money spent, only to now spend additional money just to fix a bad job. :(

That said; never, have I have been to an establishment, where I was treated like a VIP customer by just walking in. Their selections were vast, and at many price points, from paint to carpet and anything you could want, to remodel, including installation and fabrication! Here's the super important part.... the service, and help was totally available, and knowledgeable! No one, has that anymore! Well, here, they DO! A special thanks, to Cameron, who kept me in the loop during the ordering process. I would invite him for Thanksgiving! ( he goes above and beyond ) I can't recommend this business enough, whether, using a designer, or do it yourself. It may sound too good to be true, but happily, it's better! P. Floor needed to be ripped up, fridge pulled, heaters on floor boards to get mold out etc. Project was to install new copper pipe installed (this was 2nd time rodents and whatever had punctured fragile nylon tube), install ice maker emergency shutoff, new hardwood floor. THREE months later still waiting final touchups on baseboard molding as new hardwood floor not as thick as old floor creating a gap. Contractor keeps saying he is coming, "check your email", etc. Death in family, car troubles excuse after excuse. Could not get repaired in time for thanksgiving. FOUR months later monday nite woke to water all over kitchen floor. Plumber pulled out fridge and saw that nylon pipe had AGAIN sprung a leak, "new line Ultimate had installed was actually a tape job (see pic #2) of old line. Cutoff was a medal makeshift clamp on a nylon pipe which apparently is a no-no. Have to file ANOTHER insurance claim (will be dropped) go thru entire demo, water repair, new floor install AGAIN...FOUR MONTHS LATER!! UGH UGH UGH

Shannon, Mark, and the team did an excellent job remodeling our kitchen and bathrooms…read more I saw kitchen and bath depot mentioned on Reddit of all places and the moment I stepped in to the showroom, Shannon greeted us and answered all of my questions and was super friendly. They worked with us on the design so everything was exactly what we wanted and the project manager Mark was always available to answer questions when the guys were working on the house. We now have an amazing kitchen with lots of storage and a bathroom with the soaking tub I've always wanted! Overall we had a great experience with them and would use them again in the future.

Kitchen & Bath Depot just finished a major renovation of our kitchen (new cabinets, countertops,…read morebacksplash, ventilation and appliances). We can't be more thrilled. We had used KBD before on a simpler renovation (new master bath shower) and we were delighted with their work, so didn't hesitate to engage them for this far more elaborate project. Why are these guys such great remodelers? Let me list just a few of the reasons. * Completeness: Except for appliances, KBD displays and sources everything that is required. You aren't sent around to countless vendors to look at their wares and then be the middleman in negotiating appropriateness, availability, prices, etc. * Design assistance: You are offered as much or as little as you need. But be forewarned, Rich and Olga are likely to be much more familiar with design issues than you - so that when they make their suggestions, you will hit yourself on the side of the head and wonder why you didn't think of these issues or ideas yourself. * Craftsmanship: With remodeling, everything doesn't always exactly fit together. Walls are not perfectly plumb, corners not perfectly square, ceiling heights may be wavy and floors are not perfectly flat. Thus, craftsmanship is required to neatly mount cabinets and appliances to that they look seamless. KBD installers (who are direct employees, not subcontractors) all made the extra effort to ensure that everything (even stuff that we would never would have noticed) was done right and looked perfect. Thanks, Tony, Walter, Mark, Raphael and Steve. * Predictability: You are told what work and workers are coming next; everyone arrives on time; and other than for weekends (and two snow days) work is done every day. Our full kitchen remodel was completed in just four weeks - slightly faster than initially estimated. * Neatness: Drop clothes and dust shields were laid/affixed every day. And no day ended without a through clean-up of the job site. * Price: As noted by other commenters, KBD's prices, while not discount rates, are very fair for the extent and quality of work being done - and below some quotes that we received from other remodeling firms. Further, you are not nickel-and-dimed for extra costs from minor changes or challenges. * Peace of mind: Remodeling can be stressful. You worry that things will not be done right, that you are paying too much, or the final product will just not look good. Hire KBD and you can put those worries aside. The job will be done better than you will have imagined, it will look beautiful, and you will be happy to have made the decision to contract with KBD.
