The short of it is, they did an outstanding job, were a pleasure to work with through both the design and construction phases, and we are completely satisfied with their work. The work was completed almost to the day they'd initially estimated, and there were no cost overruns or disputes. We researched a handful of other contractors and IKB was the most reasonably priced. We first learned of them through neighbors who had used and recommended them. Here are some additional observations for those who want more details: Through the design phase, they offered a variety of options, and their CAD images provided a helpful visual sense of the these considerations. While they came with ideas, they were also very receptive to our design inputs and readily incorporated them into the final design. Their proposed fee was the most reasonable we received from the handful of other contractors from which we got bids. They were very good at problem solving to achieve desired outcomes. Everyone of their team was professional and pleasant to deal with. The quality of their work was top notch. And because it is such a visible aspect of a bathroom, I'll mention their tiling craftsman's work is outstanding. We wanted to incorporate some bold color tiles. That expert was able to make helpful suggestions for how to arrange those for very nice results, and his execution and grout work are just beautiful. Prior to this bathroom renovation, we'd used IKB to build an externally-exhausting duct for our kitchen stove and also install the exhaust fan. They did this work quickly, affordably, and the result is great. They will be our first choice for any future remodeling jobs.

We wanted to completely redo our master bathroom and move a wall so that we could add a bathtub. First we worked with Mega's design consultant, Laissa. She was incredibly patient and helpful and guided us through the process of designing our bathroom, choosing all the fixture and tiles, etc. I have no idea how we would have done it without her. I especially appreciated how they gave us a spreadsheet of all of the fixtures and their prices so that we could easily see how every change of fixture affected the overall price of our project. Once the design was finished, Ibrahim, Juan, and the rest of the construction team took over. They were unfailingly polite and considerate while they were in our home. They were even kind enough to wear masks when we requested it (we have an immunocompromised family member). The construction team regularly consulted us whenever they wanted to confirm a decision and the work was finished well within the time frame we'd been promised. Our bathroom is so beautiful that my mom regularly drags family members upstairs to admire it when we have family events at our home. We did have one issue after construction was finished: a stubborn leak that kept coming back. Mega was very responsive when we reached out to them about the issue and was very proactive about making sure it was fixed and repairing any damage it caused. We had used KBD before on a simpler renovation (new master bath shower) and we were delighted with their work, so didn't hesitate to engage them for this far more elaborate project. Why are these guys such great remodelers? Let me list just a few of the reasons. * Completeness: Except for appliances, KBD displays and sources everything that is required. You aren't sent around to countless vendors to look at their wares and then be the middleman in negotiating appropriateness, availability, prices, etc. * Design assistance: You are offered as much or as little as you need. But be forewarned, Rich and Olga are likely to be much more familiar with design issues than you - so that when they make their suggestions, you will hit yourself on the side of the head and wonder why you didn't think of these issues or ideas yourself. * Craftsmanship: With remodeling, everything doesn't always exactly fit together. Walls are not perfectly plumb, corners not perfectly square, ceiling heights may be wavy and floors are not perfectly flat. Thus, craftsmanship is required to neatly mount cabinets and appliances to that they look seamless. KBD installers (who are direct employees, not subcontractors) all made the extra effort to ensure that everything (even stuff that we would never would have noticed) was done right and looked perfect. Thanks, Tony, Walter, Mark, Raphael and Steve. * Predictability: You are told what work and workers are coming next; everyone arrives on time; and other than for weekends (and two snow days) work is done every day. And no day ended without a through clean-up of the job site. * Price: As noted by other commenters, KBD's prices, while not discount rates, are very fair for the extent and quality of work being done - and below some quotes that we received from other remodeling firms. Further, you are not nickel-and-dimed for extra costs from minor changes or challenges. * Peace of mind: Remodeling can be stressful. Overall, the…read morequality, workmanship, and attention to details were highly evident throughout the entire project. The project manager, Jason, was on site every 2-3 days to ensure the work was proceeding as discussed. He was easily reachable by phone during the entire project. VKB was able to place 2 teams on site which allowed the work to be completed in 4.5 weeks instead of 6-7 weeks which would have been normal. The team lead on site, Walter, was easy to talk to and was very knowledgeable on all aspects of the project (demolition, prep, electrical, plumbing, fixtures, paint, etc.). He has an excellent team of workers that rotated across the various tasks in each bathroom. My wife and I were very pleased at the finished results. Everything came together very nicely. We would highly recommend VKB for your bathroom remodeling. With that said, I offer a few suggestions for potential clients to consider. Customers should make sure they know exactly what they want to do. While change orders can be made after the project is started, it costs more than if the project scope was defined from the beginning. Also, I recommend looking at www.build.com to pre-select the fixtures that are needed prior to scheduling the meeting with the designer. Trying to select all the fixtures for the bathroom within 60-90 minutes in the showroom can be challenging.

Instead, we have been left with numerous workmanship and installation problems, several of which go well beyond cosmetic imperfections. The microwave ventilation was not properly sealed to the exterior, leaving an opening through which birds and other vermin could enter the home. The bathroom vent was also improperly sealed, allowing water intrusion that damaged the ceiling. We also experienced electrical problems--the stove and microwave cannot operate at the same time, and a kitchen outlet identified during our review was not GFCI. Even more concerning, the garbage disposal/plumbing installation resulted in wastewater and sewage spilling into the basement. The finishing work was also poor. Walls were not properly prepared before painting, areas behind the refrigerator and stove were left unfinished, and drywall/plaster work around a vent was done poorly enough that the vent separated from the wall. The painting itself will need professional correction. We also had concerns about the cleanliness of the work site and certain work practices. Most frustrating is that we raised concerns throughout the project, yet the issues remained unresolved. We have photographs documenting these conditions and have now formally requested that the contractor correct the outstanding deficiencies. I do not recommend this company.

The product is under a 3-year warranty, and before returning it, we confirmed multiple times with Branch Manager John Watkins that it would be eligible for a return and refund. He clearly said we could bring it to any Ferguson store and that the refund would be processed. We followed through and dropped it off. Since then, it's been over a month and we still haven't received any refund. We've sent several follow-ups, but all we've gotten back are generic replies that it's "being worked on," without any real updates or action. This has honestly been a frustrating experience. What should've been a simple return has turned into a drawn-out process that's wasted a lot of our time. It's disappointing, especially after being reassured from the start that this wouldn't be an issue.
