My mom and I got the salmon spring roll, bulgogi bowl, and tuna bowl. They were decent but outrageously overpriced for the price. The bowls was 90% white rice, the tuna was so salty, and bulgogi was dry. It felt as if the bowls were missing a key ingredient such as scallions or a spicy mayo sauce. All in all, we were expecting inexpensive fresh eats, but were very disappointed by the mediocre food. I'm afraid we won't be back, as there are better options for poké elsewhere. Service was good though, but that's to be expected when you're 1 of 2 occupied tables in the restaurant. read more

My sister and I decided to go here on a whim. We were in the mood for sushi and poke and this happened to be close. We ordered a few rolls and a poke bowl. It was all fantastic! The portions were way larger than I'm used to with sushi but everything was beautifully arranged and tasted every bit as good as it looked. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but it's pretty cute on the inside with a modern aesthetic. Tables are a little on the small side so I wouldn't expect to bring a large group. At the end of our meal the chef met us on the way out the door just to ask how everything was. A week later on my recommendation my husband and mother in law ordered it through Uber eats and it was JUST as good and, even though it was delivery, they told me it was JUST as beautiful. Just grabbed lunch and service is FIVE STAR! I had to say that first and foremost! This a cute spot tucked off of Satellite Blvd and Old P'tree Rd in Duluth. It is in the same parking lot as Starbucks and Regions bank. I drove from Grayson to try it. I'd come back to this place just to be around these sweet folks. My hubby and I were being difficult (him characteristically so; me out of the norm) because we were changing our orders; but the young lady taking our order was patient and helpful! I'll update this post with pics and food momentarily. UPDATE: 2/20/18 I am disappointed to learn that the very popular seaweed salad has increased to $12!!! It was $5! I asked the young lady on the phone why the increase and she told me she didn't know but would ask and then hung up on me. I frequent this restaurant, and others, and I've not seen seaweed salad cost more than 7-$8 tops. What gives? I'll overlook the fact that the lady hung up on me, but am discouraged from ordering here again because I like to have the seaweed salad with my order and for that price I don't know that it is worth it. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place - with both the quality of the food as well as the service. Once you walk through the entrance, you are promptly greeted by someone behind the register. You are then taken to your seats and handed menus. I was very satisfied with the amount of time from the moment you walk in to the moment your food is set in front of you. I'm fairly new to the area but apparently, the owner of this place was a sushi chef at a very popular sushi location in the Atlanta area. After the restaurant shut down, the chef decided to try & start a restaurant of her own & I'm glad she did! The salmon bowl is my go-to but some of my friends ordered about 5 rolls. They were all very, very delicious! If you enjoy sushi, I would definitely recommend you check this place out. -1 star only because I wish the salmon bowl was a bit bigger for what it costs. read more

This place is amazing. Cozy with a modern interior. And the food is excellent! We got the Korean grilled short rib salad, bulgogi hot bowl, and the 121 double shrimp tempura roll. Though $14 for each of those, completely worth the price. Everything was full of flavor. Might be the first salad I think is worth $14. Sushi was great too... definitely better than the 1/2 price rolls across the street. We got the opportunity to meet the chef... she was super friendly and I could say the same about the waiter. I am giving this restaurant a very confused 4, and let me explain why. The interior is pretty small, but decorated rustic with lights, so it definitely has a cozier atmosphere. The staff there were very friendly, and they bring you your food once you place your order at the register. The food came out in a timely manner. And now most importantly, one of my friends and I both ordered the combination poke bowl and my other friend got the bulgogi hot bowl. The poke bowl looked super colorful and appetizing, but taste was okay. It had its own twist on poke, and I thought it was slightly spicy, had a nicely seasoned sauce, and tasted healthy. My friend's bulgogi bowl did not look like the pictures, and said it was pretty good but slightly salty. I think one of the main takeaways is that the food is not authentic, and definitely has an American twist on these Asian dishes, but they tried. I have tried their specialty rolls on a separate occasion, and they were good but overwhelming. Too big and again, felt Americanized. Anyways, it was an overall good experience, but not sure I will ever prioritize to come back here. read more

Everything about this place is excellent: the sushi is fresh and delicious, the design and vibe are very trendy/modern, and the service is top notch. The owner of the restaurant came out and personally delivered our food to our table. She also saw that my girlfriend needed a place to put her purse and pulled up an extra chair for her. On the way out she even held the door for us. It's always great to see an owner that's truly passionate about their business. That alone gets this place 5 stars, but the food happens to be great as well. We tried the rainbow roll, salmon roll, and Yummy Yummy roll. The meat in each one was incredibly fresh, and the rice had a bit of a sweetness to it which was different than other places and complemented everything very well. I've been here twice so far and will definitely continue to visit. Highly recommended. read more

The staff was friendly. The wait time was long because they accidentally gave my order to the wrong table. The food was not good. I ordered 2 rolls and the taste was off. Perhaps the fish wasn't as fresh as it could be? I just moved back from San Diego so my palate is a little more sensitive to fresh seafood. The yelp check in offer was for 3 fried dumplings or 3 takoyakj. I chose the takoyaki which was fried octopus essentially. They were delicious and the staff came through and brought 4 takoyaki instead of 3 because ya girl can eat. For my entree I ordered the Udon + Sushi combo which was featured on a card on the table. I think there was a misunderstanding however because the picture on the card picture nigiri sushi but I received California rolls. I was also a little disappointed because my udon didn't have an egg (also featured in the picture). But the special with the nigiri style sushi was $18 and I was only charged $12. Maybe they were out of sushi grade fish? I don't know. I also got a chance to try the sushi bowl combo (with tuna and salmon) and it was so, so good. As soon as we paid the check the sweetest woman, I assume it was the owner or manager, brought us free dessert! It was little fried balls of what tasted like moon pie, drizzled in chocolate sauce. On my way through Starbucks recently I saw a chalkboard with the words "Shrimp and Grits" written on it in front of a place with Sushi Bowl in the name, and curiosity got the better of me. Other than the shrimp and grits, I decided to try a spicy tuna roll, a relatively simple sushi roll. The chef also offered me a takoyaki ball to sample. First, the shrimp and grits were simply made, and they were amazing. The grits were creamy and smooth. The shrimp was cooked just right, not mushy. The bacon and scallions provided just the right amount of seasoning, without making the dish feel heavy. You could taste everything, because it wasn't overseasoned, and the ingredients were fresh. I've had a lot of shrimp and grits from a lot of places, so I can't say for sure if this is the best I've had, but it's definitely up there. The spicy tuna roll was very good. Again, the ingredients were fresh, giving the roll a bolder taste. After the first piece, I didn't use any soy sauce, as the roll already tasted good, and adding soy sauce would have just made the dish too salty. Adding soy sauce to everything is an American thing anyways. I was pleasantly surprised by the takoyaki ball. I've had takoyaki a few times before in Asia, and I wasn't a huge fan. Being fried, it had the tendency to be greasy and heavy, and when that happens I'm not really impressed by finding octopus at the center of it. This one, however, was lightly fried and not greasy, with a smooth filling followed by the crunch of the octopus. I was pleasantly surprised. A great addition to the Suwanee food scene. Best part was the service--the owner/chef is such a lovely person! We ordered the baked salmon roll and 3 bowls (bulgogi, Hawaiian salmon, and combination poke). The roll was so good that it was gone in a second, and we just had to order another one. The bowls could have been better. I was slightly disappointed that it kind of felt like the two sushi bowls were not that different from one another. Also, the rice didn't seem perfectly cooked (a little on the hard side). I actually don't think I would get a bowl again. I would go back to try some other rolls. read more

Awesome service! Had chef greet us with smile. We tried their salmon bowl with salmon paper roll. Hands down on the salmon paper roll. I've tried the fried version at New Orleans but never fresh roll. It's the best in town if there is others. The bowl is good but I can't stop praising the roll. You can taste the lobster, shrimp and salmon all together. Willing to try their brunch on Sunday (buffet). My first 5 star! read more

We were visiting from out of town and were in the mood for sushi & poke. Yelpers led us here and we just had the most yummy dinner! Our tween girls loved the California rolls - they said they were as tasty as the CA rolls we had in Hawaii. They loved the sample of Korean fried chicken too - tender, juicy & crispy with a lovely light coating. We also ordered the Hawaiian poke bowl and their signature Yummy Yummy roll and both were really good too. The Yummy roll is deep fried but it has the best light & crunchy coating. And the chef is the sweetest - checked on us to ensure we were satisfied with our meal. We got a photo with her too! Would definitely come back the next time we're in town again! Very small, locally and privately owned restaurant next to a Starbucks. Last I remembered, it was a Korean restaurant that had closed down. Definitely more of a homely feel compared to the usual froyo style setups of other poke restaurants I've been to. Poke bowl was good, had salmon with spicy tuna. The overall taste definitely had a Korean feel to it, but still good. A bit much on the rice. Also, if you order the combination for only $1 more, you get pretty much double the fish. At least in our case. Also tried the yummy yummy roll, and the owner/chef also came out with some complimentary dumplings for us to try. This worked out perfectly as I had stated I had a craving for dumplings before deciding on poke. Super friendly chef, she even got us silverware and drinks as the server got a little busy. I hope this place lasts and I always recommend supporting the local businesses over the chains any day. If you're ever in the area, stop by! A terrific, friendly and cozy restaurant. The owner, a graduate of a culinary school, who is also the chef, is very friendly and, I want to add, a very beautiful lady. I had a hot bowl of bulgogi, a sushi roll and a salad...too much to have at one sitting, so I left with enough food for tomorrow's lunch. Get the hot bulgogi bowl. It's a must have item, and it was everyone's favorite in our group. The marinade was perfect and the bowl had such good flavor and a mix of fresh veggies. I haven't tried the cold bulgogi bowl, but I already know the hot one is my favorite. We tried a couple of their funky sushi rolls, and the takoyaki (free with Yelp check-in!). The sushi rolls were massive and so filling, so be conservative when ordering them for a group of people. I wouldn't say the server was "friendly", but she was helpful, answered all questions, and got the job done. This is the new restaurant that has opened where Boxete used to be, the staff are pretty much the same including the chef. They are so nice, the food is amazing, and I am so glad they gave it another go! Their hours are a little wonky right now since they just opened but they are now serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner and next week will have a sunday lunch buffet! Very exciting, I will be sure to check out that lunch buffet. I came on Saturday for dinner but they were actually not open for dinner yet but the chef was super nice and made us to go poke bowls anyways! It was $10 a bowl and came with a bowl of miso soup each. I got the hawaiin and eel bowl. Everything was delicious! And the pokebowls were so pretty. Only suggestion is maybe add a little more rice or vegetables to the bowl because it was a little small. There was actually a lot of fish in there though! For sure take a trip here and get some amazing food! There's plenty of parking, if you can't find any in the front then there is a lot in the back. read more

Great service, beautiful, aesthetically pleasing interior, and great food! It was also super clean. We got the salmon poke bowl, stir fry bacon udon, and Yummy Yummy roll. It was all so good! The sushi was HUGE! Our server was very keen on refills, and miso soup is free (with unlimited refills). Our drinks were never less than 3/4 full, and I highly recommend the brussels sprouts appetizer if you go. The raw fish in the poke bowl and sushi were super fresh also. The service here is always spectacular. Even today (January 1st), they only had one server to the entire (and very full) resteraunt and service was still fantastic. The owner is also super nice and greets every single table. We've been here multiple times and have only had great experiences. I'd give them 10 starts if I could. read more
