This restaurant is inside the Pendry at Canyon's Village. The ambiance was elegant with dimmed lighting but it wasn't stuffy. In terms of attire, it's a mixed bag as with other places here.. we were pretty casual but some were dressed up a bit more. Our server was wonderful, and the food and drink was phenomenal. This was, hands down, the best meal we had in Park City. We started with cocktails. The gin cocktail I had was the perfect combination of floral and citrus and left me wanting more. My husband enjoyed his as well. The wine menu here is insanely overpriced, so next time I'd ask the corkage fee to consider bringing our own bottle. They brought out a bread that was cooked with a Japanese seasoning on it and a side of butter, and it was delicious. The bison was the best thing we ate; incredibly tender and cooked to perfection, if we lived here we would be back often for this. The elk was very good as well, with fresh herbs that helped bring out the flavor. Can't go wrong with either of these dishes but the bison was the star to us. My daughter ordered the kids pasta with butter and parm, and my son ordered the kids chicken fingers which came with potato wedges. Both were a good portion for children. For the sides, we ordered the Japanese sweet potatoes and the fried rice. The sweet potatoes were something different and were tasty but not our favorite or something we would order again. The fried rice with egg was delicious; it was full of sliced garlic and amazingly seasoned, we could not help but finish it all. At the time of the check, our server offered cotton candy for the kids. It was very flavorful and soft. It was a nice finishing touch. We've enjoyed dining at KITA several times as locals, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. We came in for my wife's birthday with our two young sons, had an OpenTable reservation noting the occasion, and spent over $300 on dinner. Unfortunately, the service throughout the evening felt disorganized and inattentive. Courses were delayed, one of our children's meals was forgotten until we reminded staff, dessert was brought out incorrectly, drinks and the check took a very long time, and small details were repeatedly missed. What made it harder was that this was meant to be a special family celebration. In past visits, the restaurant had gone out of its way to make things feel welcoming for kids, even offering cotton candy as a fun surprise. Our children saw it being given to nearby tables throughout the night, but we were never offered it, despite being there for a birthday dinner. It may sound minor, but after an already long and frustrating evening, it really affected the experience for our kids. No one was rude, and the food itself was good. This felt more like a breakdown in attentiveness and overall service execution. We like KITA and want to continue supporting it, but for the price point and reputation, this visit simply missed the mark. read more

I recently dined at KITA and overall had a fun and flavorful experience. We started with the Firecracker roll, which was excellent. The spicy tuna on top was really flavorful and well balanced, bringing just the right amount of heat without overpowering the dish. The miso soup was also a pleasant surprise -- the portion size was generous and perfect for sharing. It was warm, comforting, and a great start to the meal. We also ordered the karaage. Unfortunately, this was the weakest dish for me. The chicken itself didn't have much flavor, and if it weren't for the dipping sauce it would have been quite bland. It was also made with dark meat, which I'm personally not a big fan of. The hamachi nigiri was fantastic. The fish tasted incredibly fresh and clean, and the simplicity of the dish really let the quality of the hamachi shine. Another standout was the Wasatch roll -- a true dynamite roll with lots of flavor and fresh hamachi. Every bite had great texture and balance. To end the meal, everyone was given a small bowl of cotton candy, which was a fun and unexpected touch. I hadn't had cotton candy in years, and it was a playful way to finish the night. Excellent suggestions with details even down to getting teriyaki sauce on the side for the edamame. Attentive but not intrusive. Cute, classy, intimate vibes. We started with edamame, hot and salty. We shared the SSAM platter, the Delmonico steak. Cooked perfectly, came sliced with four sauces to try. So flavorful and tender. As a side we had the egg fried rice, which came with a fried egg literally on top of it so you can cut it up and watch the yolk spread out over the rice. Artful and delicious! We finally tried KITA for my birthday dinner and I had very high expectations. It somehow managed to surpass them. We've always loved the apres at Pendry and were so excited to finally try KITA. The service was absolutely above and beyond. The entire team worked together so seamlessly. Our server Eddie was personable, welcoming, and gave fantastic recommendations. The manager Naomi also did a wonderful job checking in and making sure everything was perfect. You could really feel how well the whole team supported each other. The ambiance is upscale, modern, and chic, the perfect Park City dining vibe. Now for the food. The stuffed zucchini blossoms were incredibly light but full of flavor. The karaage was crispy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The veggie sushi roll was fresh and beautifully balanced. The jidori chicken was tender and juicy with a sweet sticky glaze and a delicious charred finish. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection and topped with flaky salt. The mashed potatoes were creamy, rich, and topped with fresh truffles, and the cheesy corn had the most satisfying cheese pull and amazing flavor. The chocolate marquise was rich, creamy, and the perfect dessert. I loved that it wasn't too sweet or overpowering. It was the perfect dessert! Great restaurant: A Japanese-Inspired Steakhouse & Mountain Grill. We were at The Pendry for a work event and I had dinner here twice. Beautifully designed with floor to ceiling windows, Kita shows well inside and out. Serving both steak and sushi, they get both right, which is rare. We started with the Tempura Squash Blossom and Hamachi Crudo. Both good. We followed with some nigiri including Toro, Sake and the star - Hotate Batayaki. I'd come back for the scallop by itself. We then had a salad course that was excellent - Shinto Pear and Endive. Finally, the steak. An excellent preparation of a 16 ounce American Wagyu Ribeye. Every side we had was great. Final shout out to Jack, the restaurant's bartender. A truly outstanding host after dinner. Great with the storytelling and great drinks. oh my gosh this place was insane. Insanely good. Very upscale. Great atmosphere. (When it's warm I believe you can sit outside which is nice). Our server, Kristi was super nice, friendly, and helpful in recommending dishes/drinks and making sure we were happy with our meal. To start with got some sashimi which was super fresh and a nice sized portion. My dad got some Saki which he said was great and I got a glass of which (recommended by Kristi). Then for our meals I got the sea bass which was insane and the Japanese sweet potato. Both were the best I've ever had. The sea bass is just the fish, so I would definitely recommend ordering a side. My dad got the bison fillet and mushroom side which he said was "awesome". It was truly so good. Then for desert we got the baked cheesecake which was sooo good. While visiting Salt Lake City, I made a trip to Park City and was struck by the incredible growth at Canyons Resort. During my exploration, I managed to secure a dinner reservation at KITA--and what followed was an unforgettable evening. We arrived early at the Pendry to take in the changes at the resort and decided to start with drinks at Dos Olas Cantina. We were promptly seated outside, where a talented vocal group was performing at Après, adding a perfect touch of atmosphere. Our server, Chris, was attentive, personable, and highly knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to recommend drinks tailored to each of our tastes, and they were mixed to perfection. I also noticed Dvonta, the manager, making rounds--visible, engaged, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. After drinks, we headed to KITA for dinner. At the front desk, Maggie greeted us warmly and seated us in an excellent spot. Our server, Jace, quickly introduced himself, answered questions with expertise, and made thoughtful recommendations. Shortly after, Naomi, the manager, stopped by to introduce herself and chat--a gracious touch that made us feel valued. Our drinks arrived promptly, thanks to Jack, the bartender, whose mixology skills were on full display. We began with the Firecracker appetizer, karaage fried chicken (absolutely outstanding), and a Hot-Night roll, accompanied by freshly baked bread--an exceptional start. Throughout the evening, Mai, Daniel, and Unique were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring water was refilled, plates were cleared, and our needs were met. Their professionalism and warmth elevated the experience. For our main course, we enjoyed an 8oz filet, elk chops, cheesy corn, creamed spinach, and fried rice. Every dish was prepared to perfection, showcasing both culinary skill and attention to detail. This wasn't just a meal--it was a complete hospitality experience. Then ordered a green smoothie and another cappuccino to go. $8 Hazelnut cap: Good but don't expect a strong espresso flavor. $26 Smoked salmon toast: The toast was in fact actually on a bagel. There was also no dill or capers. Not a big deal but kind of misleading to have the name and ingredients presented one way and for it to come out another ... $9 Smoked bacon: Pretty good. Would have been better if I had hot sauce but wasn't able to flag down any server. $12 Green smoothie: Fine but a bit too sweet. $70 total with a $13 tip = $83 Overall it was an okay experience. After the food was brought out, my server didn't check in on me until 30 minutes later and by that time I was ready for my check. Yes, it's worth the hype. We just finished a 2 hour dinner with our boys (16, 13 and 10) and the food was so good, no one was complaining or reaching for devices. DO NOT GO HERE! They don't respect your time, money, or reservation. We paid over $200 per person for a New Year's Eve coursed meal. We were told to arrive at 10:15pm, and that we would be seated between 10:15-10:30. We walked in at our allotted time (10:15) and were told that they did not know when they could seat us because the patrons sitting are "enjoying their time a little too much." We then waited until 10:30 to ask again. They would say they would back to check and then disappear for a while. The manager then said we could have a drink while we wait, but he still has to check on the table. 10:45 and they're apparently getting dessert (the same excuse that they gave two other reservations by the way). At 10:50, we decided to cancel our reservation. They said that they were "doing their best," but I'm sorry your best is a subpar apology, a drink, and saying that they can't guarantee when we would be seated?! What's the point of a reservation and coursed meal when our time is cut short and our reservation isn't considered?! read more

If you are going to look at the price of the food, then you should just not go here. Yes it is overpriced, so the food had best stand up to high expectations. And it does not. The octopus had the wood grilled smell and flavor but not the char and was a little mushy. The sushi was just ok. I did not like the texture or taste of the rice but my son did. The fish tasted fresh but the serving sizes were all on the small side. The Bavette and sirloin were both not cooked as requested (med rare and med came out medium+). The Bavette was chewy. The NY Strip had the best texture and taste. The wine list was full of wines over $100. I saw another table bring their own wine and was jealous. Opentable showed the place as sold out, but when we got there it was 50% full and it stayed that way the rest of the night. I suggest calling the restaurant to see if the have tables. read more

Excellent service and great food. We were in town for an event and ended up there 2 nights, with 2 separate groups. The wait staff was on top of it, and one night out waiter suggested basically a family-style sharing of multiple dishes so we got to try just about everything on the menu between both visits. Loved the bread and butter they bring to the table, the tomahawk steak, the ginger salad, and the honeydew-strawberry-mint cocktail. Would come back and get all of these again. Restaurant was beautiful. The wait staff were great. I had a reservation for five booked, they put us at a four top with one chair stuck at the end in the middle of the walkway. Definitely not ideal. The menu had a lot of designations (marking certain dishes as vegan, vegetarian and/or gluten free). One of the reasons we decided to dine here, as my wife is vegan. It turns out the menu designations were completely wrong, thankfully a really fantastic waiter named Dillon came by to go over the inconsistencies and guide my wife into dishes she could actually eat. Huge issue and something the restaurant should fix asap. Either do not put dietary designations on your menu, or make very sure they are right. Huge shout out to the awesome waiter who saved the day on that one. Almost makes up for the serious negligence of distributing a menu with seriously wrong dietary information.
