I had an issue with my brake lever. Another bike shop quoted a repair price that seemed quite steep for a job not requiring parts. The mechanic also suggested that with a little effort I might be able to fix it myself. After a few frustrating days of fiddling with the lever, I decided to visit another repair shop and went to K.C. The mechanic wasn't sure if he could fix the lever on the spot but immediately put my bike on the rack and went to work. 15 minutes later = success! And the cost was half the price quoted by the original mechanic. Thank you! read more

This business charged $128cad to fix a flat front tire, a regular e-bike tire and not a fat one, and adjust regular mechanical brakes, not hydraulic brakes. It also took five days. I've consulted widely on cycling groups and there's near consensus that this is an outrageously high charge. I will not be back. read more

My E-bike's rear wheel got flat and I had to visit this store as it was my only option nearby. They charged me 60 dollars for labour cost of changing tube, while another store near cambie qouted 30 dollars for changing. They said you may go there if you can! of course I couldn't do that with a flat tire so I paid 60 dollars to them. After several days, they handed it over, but the rear brake was damaged! I talked with the employees and while they tried to help, they said we are not liable for that. I visited again to talk with the manager and he said because your brake wire was rusted, your brake cover is damaged. I said it was NOT like this, and he responded that we don't do anything with the brake when we change the wheel... It seems they wanted to release the brake and put so much pressure that caused this. Anyway, I have to pay an additional cost for brake change that was not like this when I gave them my bike. They said we are not accusing you of lying! Can you even accuse the customer for your improper service? I also work somewhere else, and I hold full responsibility when my work/results are not up to standard. If the mechanic who worked on this bike knew what he did and chose to be silent, it's unprofessionalism by him and this store. read more

After having hip surgery and a knee replacement I was enturely out of alignment on my road bike. So, I arranged a fitting. Griffin did an amazing job of adjuztments that resulted in comfortable positioning. And, provided sound suggestions for future comfort changes. Fulky recommend. read more

I brought in two NOS DX hubs with two NOS ASP rims to have them built up. Not only did they charge almost double what anywhere else would to build them, they did one wheel with nickel plated nipples and the other with black nipples. Either they are grossly incompetent, or they were deliberately being dicks. I had to get them rebuilt somewhere else. read more

Had a bike fitting at Kissing Crows and am utterly delighted. All the staff were interesting and not sexist or homophobic. Josh was awesome and did a great job of explaining the fit process and explaining what options I had with my current bike and gave some other options that involved a new seat post and stem. I didn't feel pressured to make these changes. My ride home from the shop was awesome. I think it'll take a few days to get used to but I hope that this will help my tight shoulders, hamstrings and forearms. $50 for the fitting, which took over an hour, which feels super reasonable. read more

Great services, cool people. I bought my first custom bike from this place and that was the BEST decision I 've ever made. I can see how much they LOVE bikes through their services, and that's really important! Highly, highly recommend this place. read more

Great service and workmanship! These guys are friendly and know their stuff! My 100$ and 7-10 days to fix quote turned into 2 days and 60$. I'll be shopping here for all my bikes needs and repairs in the future! read more

I had a nice chat with Josh about building up a dream bike for me. Although the price came out to be much higher than I had anticipated so I did not go through with the build right away, I would certainly be coming back here in a few months. They are professional and friendly. read more

Excellent service, nice knowledgeable people. I took my bike in for a tune up and it rides like it's brand new. Josh told me everything that needed doing and a price ahead of time, and they called while they were working on it as they found a little extra repair that needed doing to make sure I was good with going ahead with it. Bike was ready for pick up the next day. Also really appreciate their thorough approach to physical distancing while keeping their shop open for service. read more

This if the first time I have tried Kissing Crows for bike servicing. I took my 1 year old e-bike in for a tune up a few weeks ago and due to back up in a available time slot for a tune up, I was not able to pick it up until last week. When I picked up my bike, I was disappointed and upset with the condition I received my bike. I asked if there was anything I should know about my bike after the tune up and was told that my rear disc brake was a bit mushy and could be replaced with something more high end and powerful for an e-bike. I said I would consider changing out the brakes later. What I didn't expect was that after paying for the tune up and leaving the shop, I tested the rear brakes to see what the "mushy" rear brake meant and found out that the rear brakes didn't work properly at all and were not adjusted properly prior to delivering the bike back to me. I brought the bike back into the store and expressed that the rear brakes were not working properly and the technician took the bike to re-adjust the rear brakes. I was told that the brake cable had slipped. This is not something I would expect that my brake cable would somehow slip if it was adjusted and set properly to begin with. This is a serious safety item for the bike and should have been checked properly before giving the bike back to me. It was definitely not a proper first experience with Kissing Crows and will leave doubts in my mind to ever bringing my bike back again for any work there. Was this just an attempt to sell me new brakes? I will adjust the brakes again on my own at this point and double check to make sure it is safe to ride on the road again. read more

Great guys working at this place, I just drove up from so cal and my bike took a beating on the back of my car! He went over the whole bike right in front of me and showed me the issues and gave me options on how to fix them. Super honest, good, down to earth people. It's hard to find a good bike shop that you can trust. Knew every little thing about Santa Cruz Bicycles and how they rode, so I am excited to see how it turns out. These guys are the ones to go to if you want your sh*t done right! read more

Super thorough, quick, unpretentious and friendly service, even on small, minor jobs. This shop is just down the street with a neighbourhood feel and so glad it is! I will be back and like to support them. read more

I've been getting my bike tuned and minor repairs done at Kissing Crow for about 1.5 years and they are the best! They always treat me with respect, even though I don't know very much about the mechanics of my bike. They take time and walk me through. Twice now they've saved me..... bike has a problem and I bring it in and they fix it for me on the spot, get me back on my wheels. For example, today.... my daughter is coming from Gibsons for a biking weekend with me and my Brodie stops shifting smoothly, clunking away. I call them, they say bring it in and 10 minutes after my arrival, I'm out the door shifting like a hot knife in butter! read more

These guys are amazing. I blew a gear cable on my way out for a ride so I stopped in at 3:30pm with the expectation of having to pick up my bike later in the week. Nope; they were smoking busy but promised to have me on the road by 5:00pm. Not only did they replace the gear cable, they re-taped the handlebars and gave it a minor tune-up. I was on the road by 5:15PM. I recently got a major overhaul at the shop and it's the best the bike's felt since brand new. Can't say enough good things about these guys. read more

Tiny place. Has a few cool looking fixed/single-speed bikes on display. As much as I want to like this place, it's hard to recommend this shop because of the outrageous service prices and their reluctance to deal with any problems or concerns relating to their work. I've have owned 9 bikes in the last dozen years and have dealt with countless shops, but have never seen anything like what I've experienced here. How many times can you recall spending ~$2,000 in a bike shop & then see that they charged you an extra $14 to have the pedals swapped from your old bike to the new one they just sold you? Kissing Crows takes the term "nickel and dimed to death" to a whole new level. Any post sales issues seem to be deflected by the sales staff whom either cannot or do not take any initiative to resolve the problem if the owner is away -- if he's gone for days you wait for days, if he's gone for weeks you wait for weeks. I never did hear back from them, gave up waiting and moved on. All this is counter-intuitive to the level of service one would expect from a boutique shop, and that's the sad part. read more

Just dropped in to get a tire repaired. The response I got was awesome. They quickly got my bike up and replaced the tire tube and checked it thoroughly. Actually stopped what they were doing and got me on my way in no time. Excellent service and great guys! read more

My bike rides like a dream! after a routine tune up at Kissing Crows Cyclery. Smooth gear changes, non-squealing brakes, makes my daily commute to work so easy and makes me want to ride for fun too. Mechanic found a mystery tire leak that had stumped 3 previous tuneups at a different bike shop. I will definitely bring my bike to them again! read more

First, to be fair, let me say that this was my experience of a few years ago, but it has stuck with me every time I see their ads and notice the reviews. At the time, I was in the market for a built from scratch bike. When asked how much that I would pay, I said up to $3000, which to me is a lot of money back then, but by the response, I don't think that the head fellow agreed. Anyway, he said that I should have a fitting. A little while later, I paid for and had the fitting, which was supposed to be re-embersed if I proceeded with the build. Several things were discussed, type of handlebars and such. Everything seemed like a go and he said that he would call me when he was ready to proceed. A month went by, I called at least a couple of times after that, not ready yet. I waited and finally went to the shop. He was out and according to his employee, wasn't expected back for a while. I asked what the problem was, but was told that I would have to ask him myself. I asked the employee to have him give me a call. As you have probably guessed, no call was received and of course I concluded that he wasn't interested in my business. So I dropped the matter, leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Not very business like! read more
