We decided to go biking around Stanley park and visited Spokes to rent our bikes. They had multiple options of bikes (e-bikes, fixed-gear, city bikes and tandem bikes) The staff were friendly and helpful, recommending bikes based on your comfort. Their prices are a bit higher than others around there, but I think the quality of their bikes make up for it. The experience of renting the bike was smooth as you only need to provide a credit card on file before you rent and are only charged after you return the bikes. This removes the hassle of calculating how long you would want to rent the bikes for. They also provide helmets so you don't need to bring anything with you. We chose the e-bikes since we weren't looking for a workout on vacation, and it was definitely the right call. The staff will set you up with your bike and then off you go! The loop around the park is just under 7 miles and took us about 1.5 hours with plenty of photo stops along the way. Made recommendations, provided us with a map and got us set up outside on bikes and adjustments. We were able to add a basket and a cell phone holder as options, but didn't really need it. Total loop for us over just over 7 miles and took 45 minutes (not including stops). Bikes were decent, some seem to have a lot of usage, but worked well for us. We had a great experience at Spokes! We reserved our bikes the evening before online and it made it completely flawless to walk in and check in. In a matter of minutes (maybe only 1 minute), they put my name in, handed me our helmets, gave us a basket and sent us out to hop on our bikes. We rented 7 speed cruiser bikes that were comfortable for a day of riding and were well maintained. The lock is attached to the bike to make stopping and sightseeing easy. We biked around Stanley Park and then extended our ride to go into the city. Given Vancouver's flat and protected bike lanes, we had a great time riding through the city and back to the shop. Returning was just as easy - pull up on the side walk, walk in and give my name, hand over the helmets and basket and you're back on your way. If you aren't an experienced rider, I'd be sure to either go with a tour group from the shop or get a thorough overview of the bike and know that when you bike through Stanley Park you go counter clock-wise, allow for faster bikers to pass on the left, and refrain from riding 2-by-2. The path is very accessible, but can be challenging at times if folks don't know biking etiquette - so be sure to ask what all you should know about where / how to bike! read more

Once you arrive you will be directed to fill in your info on an Ipad or if you are a repeat customer you can head straight to the cashier. All rentals include a helmet, a bike lock, and a basket. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable to give you the best advice on which bike to choose to fit your needs. Once you made a choice a rental ticket will be provided and you simply hand the ticket to the awaiting staff outside who will help you set up you seat height, your helmet, and guide you on how to use the bike lock. After you've completed your bike ride for the day simply return to the location awaiting staff once again assist you in putting your bike away and you process your payment at the cashier counter. We had our bikes out for 1 hour and 59 mins and so we paid $22 for 2 hours. Returning the bike was just as easy as renting the bike. As a L.T. seasoned tour guide in Stanley park I can speak from experience based on what I've witnessed before my eyes everyday and based on my own rental experience (which I occasionally do to try out new places) and Spokes is certainly - IMO - the best place to rent; Why???? *Closest rental shop to Stanley Park. *They also have a 2nd location downtown near Canada Place/Cruise terminal/Waterfront Station to rent or drop-off/pick up your bikes. *Very large inventory of high quality, dependable, easy to operate bikes meant for everyday/typical users (and that is very important!!!). *Super Fast, Easy & Efficient rental pick-up/drop-off procedure. *Very fair and good pricing and terms. My (strong) personal recommendation for Stanley Park rides is to rent a TREK FX-2 as it's a light-weight, super maneuverable, well balanced Aluminum Hybrid bike with disk brakes and very good simple to use shifter and designed and equipped for both asphalt and gravel surfaces - which is what you need in the park because you should not only drive around the outer paved seawall but try to go inside/middle of the park to see the most beautiful natural areas and see wildlife and massive trees in the forest and this bike is perfect for the hard-packed gravel trails inside the middle of the park - which are super easy to navigate with this bike. While there are a few other economy rental shops around town for a sliver less cost, many of their bikes are something to behold (and not in a good way) and I've witnessed many of their bike tow trucks (Bikes w/trailers) whiz by on the way into the park to replace or repair broken down cheap/old bikes with jammed derailers, derailed chains and flat tires. I would also not recommend the bikes you see all over the city in those racks as they are Clunky, Heavy Steel Bikes and more expensive with complicated registration. The only advantage of those IMO (and which might be important for some) is that you can drop them off all over the city - but that's about it. Anyhow, hope this helps ! read more

Great 10% Yelp discount. Arrived 9am no wait. Plan your route carefully as the bike path is one way. We had to walk the bike back on pedestrian path for the last half mile was not a big deal. Great way to see the park. The junior 24" mountain bike was grip shift. The city hybrid was a mountain bike with city tires was easy to pedal. We ended up stopping many times and having over priced lunch but was a fun day. Returned bike after 4 hrs there was a decent like for renting but the check out was easy and quick at a different line. Great for kids who don't like to walk. Tandems available. Next time I would get a cruiser 7 speed because they have bags to put your stuff in. read more

Bike broke ten minutes in and had to wait 30 mins for a mechanic to show up. Because of that we did not have time to go through the whole park. We were told to take a shortcut but when we got there it was closed. So we had to turn around and bike on the opposite end of the one way roads to get back in time. They only took off $2 for the inconvenience which was not enough for the stress and panic it caused us trying to get back before closing or else we'd have to return it in the morning even though we were going back to Seattle that night. read more

They also provide you with a helmet - WEAR IT - safety first! Track your time wisely to make sure you aren't going only a couple minutes over the next hour. But you can take advantage of some of the specials over 3 hours. The bikes are in pretty good condition and are good quality. The rental shop is a couple of blocks from Stanley Park. I made my reservation online and they made it seamless with check in and check out. They provide helmets and measure you for bike seat height. We enjoyed riding around Stanley park on tandem bikes. It only took us about 2 hours to get around. We didn't take the half day rental time I booked. I asked if they could make an adjustment on the fee and he actually gave me a small refund. May 2022 vacation: During my trip planning - Spokes stood above the rest with the most professional, family friendly, and easiest booking/reserving process. Not to mention that it is located right across from the entrance of Stanley Park - it was a win-win for me and my family. I reserved and paid online, got confirmation via email instantly and before my trip came - I even got a reminder email and a reminder text the night before - talk about efficiency! We had a couple of last minute changes but the workers were soooo accommodating and worked with my family to the very last minute making sure we were taken care of and had the most appropriate bikes. I booked the whole day with Spokes and the pricing was very reasonable (around $230 for family of 5 hoomans and 1 doggo). Our ride over to Stanley Park was most enjoyable- the family enjoyed it so much that we went back for a second round last leg of our vacation. They really make sure you get in and out of the store quickly, whether it is to embark on your biking adventure or to get you on your way to your next stop - in the best way possible. Post pandemic, they seem to be operating with high cleaning standards from what I am reading online and in their store memos. We biked around Stanley Park for a bit over an hour. Thank you Spokes for making our trip around Stanley Park a breeze. My boyfriend and I kept getting the recommendation to take a bike ride around Stanley Park. I found Spokes on an online article and luckily they were right by the Seawall. It was about $25-$30 each for 3-6 hours depending on the bike you chose. I got a 6 speed cruiser for $10.47 to start and my boyfriend got a 1 speed cruiser with $8.57 to start. The bikes came with helmets, baskets, and a lock, which made our travel really easy. They only required a $1 deposit for incidentals and you're good to go. We even parked them at the aquarium with no problem at all. I haven't been on a bike in about 10 years and was scared that it would be difficult to operate. The bike had hand breaks and rode very smooth so I didn't have to worry one bit. We biked about 7 miles and returned the bikes right in front of Spokes. I loved how convenient it was to rent and return the them. I recommend Spokes really to anyone who would like to take the must-do bike ride around Stanley Park's Seawall.
