This place is in our neighborhood and very close to home. It's important to have a reliable auto shop nearby. No frills and no fuss at a place like this. Well I got a flat tire this morning. No fun at all! I felt it immediately while driving and luckily was close to home. I checked my tire and it was deflating fast. Something bigger than a nail was in there...check my photos to see the broken key that deflated my tire in record time! I showed up at the shop knowing there was a chance they wouldn't take it considering the amount of cars I see them working on at any given moment. The gentleman said they don't normally do patchwork but would hate to see me stranded. He said it'd be completed by noon. At 10:41am they called to inform me my car was ready. Talk about efficiency and hospitality! They charged me $25 for the whole operation. It's an easy fix for them and I think the most appropriate pricing for something of this nature. Based on a picture of my engine, my brother was pretty certain I had a valve cover gasket leak and so I went to Nate to get that fixed, get an oil change, and an engine tune-up. He not only informed me that there was no leak, but he also ended up charging me less than the quote he gave me for the other repairs due to finding less expensive parts. My Toyota RAV is running so much better. I can't say enough good things about him, his work, and his integrity. He is incredibly trustworthy, won't do work that you don't need, will give you DIY information for keeping your car running better, and will give you a great price on repairs and parts. But that's the takeaway. You can trust him. You should go there. He knows his stuff. I brought in my car to another mechanic close to my home because it was leaking coolant. They gave me an estimate of $1,600. I asked specifically what parts they were replacing and what parts were broken. I was suspicious of the number when I called my dad (who has been fixing my car for the last 10 years) and he said he felt like that was outrageously high. I got a recommendation from a friend to call Nate. I asked if I could get a quote and said I couldn't bring my car to him since I had already approved the cost and they had already started fixing my car at the other place. Nate still took time out of his day to look up the cost of every part and gave me an estimate for the entire job. It was significantly cheaper than what I was being quoted. I called the other place back and told them I had gotten a much cheaper quote from Nate. Nate then got multiple phone calls from the other mechanic and they talked about where they got the parts from (same place) and what Nate's estimate included. Flash forward to when I finally receive my invoice. It's $223 cheaper than my initial quote. The other guy switched around his labor costs to more closely match Nate's quote. But even still..Nate's quote was still cheaper than what I paid. The whole time Nate talked/texted me, he told me how to look up the cost of parts, what website to use, and how to google to know exactly how much repairs should cost. He basically helped me become an informed customer and told me to keep those mechanics honest! I've been dealing with multiple mechanics here in Denver and I've never trusted one until now. I still haven't paid Nate a dime. The only thing I can do for now is tell my story and hope he gets some more customers from it. During the course of my local travels, unbeknownst to me, My 2006 Pathfinder developed a…read moretransmission fluid leak at the hose which connects to the radiator/transmission cooler. The car began to lose power even as the engine revved higher. I just was barely able to limp home at 20 mph . After discovering the leak, and fixing it, I added trans fluid to the fill line and the car seemed to drive normally. However, I couldn't be sure whether damage had occurred to the transmission. I called several transmission repair facilities and picked AC Transmissions on Federal Blvd. I spoke with Chris S., one of the shop owners. He was an excellent source of information and courtesy. The AC shop provided an inspection of the transmission free of charge, then told me that they found no damage and that the car's transmission was fine. There was absolutely no charge. Based on my interaction with AC Transmissions, I believe them to be honest and fair. As I understand it, two of the repair technicians have each at least 35 years of experience repairing transmissions. Thank you, AC Transmissions ! I would recommend these guys any day of the year. Excellent service.
