We walked in here this morning and had a wonderful experience. First timers! The people are wonderfully kind, it's a small, quiet diner-like atmosphere with great and quick service, and the food is great! They brewed a fresh pot of coffee for us, our danishes were delicious, and then our MEALS!! Wow! Husband got the French toast sandwich special with scrambled eggs, bacon, and provolone and the sandwich bread was thick and delicious French toast. He loved it! I got the two egg platter. My eggs were cooked perfectly and I had wheat toast, and homefries with onion. We enjoyed ourselves much and are looking forward to coming back!

This is an unassuming Greek owned sandwich shop near UMMC. They have daily and weekly specials here and one of the most expansive menus I have seen (you could spend your entire lunch break staring/choosing something). We tried the classic gyro and the chicken schwarma. They were both tasty and filling (I personally preferred the classic gyro, as I usually feel chunks of chicken breast are not as flavorful). Its a good place for a quick stop for breakfast or lunch.

I strongly suggest that, if you're in the area for lunch, stop in & get their Powerhouse Turkey sandwich. Thank me later... it's #MallyMallApproved

I tried their Cheesesteak Subs, $7.49. It was goooood, but I was also starving. They have great location, very close to the Medical Center.

Working in front of this place. So it was very convenient for me to grab food. I ordered the Reuben sandwich for lunch. The sandwich was really good. I liked that they grilled the rye bread. It was hot temperature wise. I also got the special salad of the day for dinner later this evening. Berry salad topped with grilled chicken $8.95. Romaine lettuce, pecans, strawberries, blueberries, mandarin orange, grilled chicken and raspberry vinaigrette dressing on the side) came with a breadstick . I wasn't expecting that. Nice I haven't tasted it yet but man it's huge! It looks delicious. I can't wait for dinner. I sure hope it's as good as the Reuben was. Update I tasted the salad and it's not that great. Not that horrible if I take the chicken out. Mainly the chicken has a weird taste or lack of taste. It's seasoned but I'm not fond of the taste. Other then that everything in the salad is fresh and crisp. Would be awesome if they had cheese on it. Especially goat cheese. for the price it's really a huge salad.

I loved the selection of pastries they offered--the pandan pastry was definitely my favorite. My husband ordered the drip coffee over ice, and I got the Vietnamese iced coffee. Both coffees were excellent. The Vietnamese coffee was a bit too sweet for my taste, and it was served in a very small glass. I think it would have been even better with a little more coffee to balance the sweetness. For lunch, we ordered the kimbap and the egg bowl, and both dishes were outstanding. The only downside was that it took about 35 minutes for our food to arrive. However, the cafe was extremely busy and clearly backed up, so we didn't mind the wait too much--especially since the food was so delicious. The indoor space is quite small, but they do offer outdoor seating. I can't wait to come back and try more of their Asian-inspired pastries and dishes. What a fantastic addition to the neighborhood!

The play on sweet and savory is just so comforting. I also had the apple cinnamon butter muffin and the muffin top was insanely delicious. The crumble on top of the apple butter was gluttony. I beleive they rotate their muffins regularly which I appreciate. I've had their raspberry matcha in the summer which I remember tasted so fresh on a hot day. And I recently had their 5 spice latte which was a great balance of spice and sweet. Overall, I honestly would consider moving to the area just to live next to this cafe not being dramatic at all.

The bartenders were polite and cleaned our table quickly, considering the place was packed they were doing an amazing job. The Buffalo Garlic Parm sauce for the wings was clearly home made and without realizing it we were there on a Tuesday making the wings only 9 dollars, the blue cheese is very mild but worked well with the sauce. The shrimp po'boy was large enough to split and was comparable to a sandwich from New Orleans in quality. I was tempted by the club but the turkey isn't the style I like, otherwise I could easily see myself trying more of the menu because it's clear the cook was skilled. The rail ginger beer and rum was inexpensive and well made and their selection of beer while currently missing a few key dark beer items was not bad at all, they included some draft beer options as well outside of the standard light beers and National Bohemian. All in all I would see myself returning when I head to the area for Ottobar events to try more of their food menu, just remember to get there somewhat early before the kitchen closes at 10.

If you're talking Baltimore pit beef, Chaps Pit Beef has been a staple for years, and after coming here for over a decade, I can confidently say it still delivers every single time. Their new location, just a stone's throw from the original humble shack, is a huge upgrade. You get the same iconic food, but now with a much larger dining room that actually makes it easy to bring a group without fighting for space. It's the best of both worlds. Same old school flavor with a more comfortable setup. On my most recent visit, I stuck with my go to. A loaded hoagie absolutely packed with pit beef, corned beef, sausage, and turkey. It's massive, messy in the best way, and exactly what you want when you're craving something unapologetically Baltimore. I paired it with a large order of fries, which were piled high and perfect for sharing. Decided to switch it up a bit and try the Holy Cod fish sandwich too, and that ended up being a sleeper hit. Huge portion of crispy fried cod, topped with fresh coleslaw on a soft bun. Not something you usually go to Chaps for, but honestly worth ordering. Everything came out crazy fast, which is always impressive considering how busy they can get. Quick stop at the condiment bar is a must. Load up on the free pickles, onions, Carolina Gold mustard, and that tiger sauce. The horseradish and mayo combo just hits different on pit beef. Bottom line, Chaps might not be a hidden gem anymore, but it doesn't need to be. It still outperforms most spots in the pit beef game and continues to be one of the best sandwiches you can get in Baltimore.
