After reading some of the reviews about the service at Kira was I apprehensive about my visit. Thankfully we end up have outstanding service. Out server was incredibly attentive, and her recommendations were spot‑on. Started with a dirty martini and it wasn't to my liking so I went for their version of a pina colada that ube in it. I enjoyed it. We ordered a lot of food, and everything came out quickly and beautifully plated. We tried the Tuna Tartare, Tuna Crispy Rice, Bang Bang Shrimp, Bone Marrow, Tempura Vegetables, and the Crab Caesar Salad. I enjoyed every dish, but the shrimp and tuna options were definitely my favorites.

Dark ambiance. No service bartender so both bartenders are busy making drinks for the restaurant and not paying too much attention to patrons seated at the bar. 830: ordered Wagyu dry aged and lump crab Cesar. Strawberry in bloom and coke. 8:42 delivery of meal. Salad is heavy on bacon bits. Steak good but not the best quality. Cooked perfectly though. Did wish that the topping spread more evenly to cover entirety. Bartender walked past multiple times for beers and bevs for other people. Had to flag down someone else from behind the door behind the bar to give us another plate for sharing. 48: asked how things were. 9:04 finished. Would I come back? Eh. Maybe.

Stopped by Kira around 8pm for a quick bite and a glass of wine before heading out to explore New Orleans for the evening, and the first thing I noticed was how gorgeous the space is. The interior is super intentional and beautifully designed so definitely a vibe. I wanted to snap a few photos, but the menu kindly requests no flash photography, and the space is pretty dark, so no high quality pics from me. Our server was amazing, I hate I forgot his name. He was very personable and great at reading the table. He gave thoughtful recommendations based on what we said we were in the mood to do in Nola that evening, which I always appreciate. This was my first time trying bone marrow, and honestly it just wasn't for me. But that's more about my personal taste than anything the restaurant did. On the other hand, the Japanese sweet potato was really good. It was perfectly cooked with a nice soy glaze, and the pickled vegetables alongside it added a great balance. That said, I'm not sure it justified the $18 price point. Overall, Kira leans a bit pricey for what you get. I don't know that I'd come back for a full dinner, but I'd absolutely return for a drink at the bar and to enjoy the ambiance. Definitely worth checking out at least once for the experience.

Ordered the Wagyu steak and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked and came with a tomato dip and cheese dip on the side, which was an amazing combination. Love the idea of fusing Japanese and mediterranean and would b definitely be interested in trying other menu items. Staff are wonderful and the inside is giving dim lounge vibes.

First and foremost let's give it up for the ambiance, decor and the mood of this restaurant. It's an experience to say the least! Dark lit and sexy. The service was top notch and the food was good. I ordered the bang bang shrimp, poached lobster, and the Caesar salad with lump crab meat and bacon. The bang bang shrimp were the star of the show. The poached lobster was mid but the curry pairing sauce was gre

It's a bit hidden away! Once you walk in, it's a very cool decor with "hip" music. The food is fantastic! The menu doesn't really do the dishes justice, they're so much more flavorful and filling than I was expecting. And the service was great! Friendly and great timing throughout the meal. A delish birthday dinner! We'd love to come back!

Came in for drinks and sat at the bar, the hostess was super helpful in finding us seats. The bartenders were friendly and accommodating, and the two cocktails we tried were both really well crafted. We ordered the broccolini and the bone marrow. Both were very good, but the bone marrow was amazing and definitely the standout. I'd come back just for that! The vibe inside is really nice and more on the upscale side, perfect for a date night or nice dinner. I'll definitely be back.

Vibe dining at it's finest. They took a familiar location and added a vibacious twist and here we are. We arrived at opening because we couldn't get a reservation and sat in the bar section. Service didn't lack one but. Drinks were great and the food was a hit. Honorable mention on the lobster: it was PERFECTION. Tender, juicy, well seasoned and good to the last bite.

Kira is an amazing warm also welcoming place. You walk in greeted very personal. The pickled veggies were so packed with favor "seasoned with all the love". The Bang Bang shrimp spoke for itself cause it was BANGING!!!! Now let's get into this lobster 10 out of 10 tender juicy not chewy perfection YES!!! I'd get it again and again oh and again!!! The ambiance is dark but cute and private beautiful for picture but the food so good you aren't going to worry bout them. Last but not least Sabrina our waitress was very attentive knowledgeable on all of the dishes. This is a great place to go we passed it up a few time but it was definitely worth it!!! NOW YOUR TURN....

Great service, great ambiance and even better food. Our waiter Andre was SO nice, friendly and gave great recommendations and explanation of the menu. We enjoyed everything we had: hamachi crispy rice, mezze board, cauliflower (so good) lamb & shrimp robatas, miso cod (amazing) and the striploin. Many reviews complained about the portion sizes, we thought they were normal and most were bigger than expected. We throughly enjoyed our experience. PS: the bathroom is fine. There is nothing wrong with it, people are so dramatic.

I had a blast at Kaira on my date night. Everything we tried from steak, lobster, broccolini, even the spinach was spot on. The cocktails were perfect, and our waitress had just the right sweet touch. The place has a really sexy ambiance that makes it ideal for a date night, and you'll probably want to snap photos of everything. The entrance is definitely the prime photo spot. They'd only been open a couple of weeks when I went, but it was already amazing. Definitely going back.

Kira is one of those rare restaurants that actually makes you want to double back and we never double back to restaurants. The food was excellent, every dish felt intentional, and the flavors were clean and beautifully balanced. The vibe is upscale but not pretentious, and the service made the whole night feel special. My wife literally said, 'We have to come back here,' and that does not happen often. Kira just earned a permanent spot on our list

The food was very good I ordered the flatbread, bang bang shrimp, ube drink was delicious and strong, and the strip. The broccoli was a little lackluster it did lack seasoning. My server I think her name was Stephanie she was great as well, very attentive. The ambiance was perfect for photos it just was a little too loud and it is freezing in there.

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

It started the moment we walked in. Glancing at the hostess, asking "OK to sit at the bar?", getting a nod, sitting down. An experience we've done in hundreds of restaurants. (We had reservations for a table but often prefer the bar.) The bartender -- whom we believe was named Mike -- started off his interaction with new customers as follows. "Did you check with the hostess?" I nodded in the affirmative, apparently that wasn't enough. "Check with the hostess", he ordered. I got up, went over the hostess stand, and confirmed, this time so "Mike" could see, that it was OK for us to sit at a half-empty bar. (In retrospect, we should have gotten up and walked out immediately, but it was late and even in the Quarter most places were closing for dinner.) You see, Mike clearly didn't want to be working that night. He was rude, inattentive, and condescending. And not just to us, to everyone seated at the bar. Slow making drinks, slow asking for orders, seething contempt for his customers. One time we asked to see a drink menu to decide on a new drink, he said, and this is a direct quote, "Do you want to see it or do you want to review it?" Mike's behavior was clearly well-known to the staff, because another staff member, who was off-shift and next to us at the bar, witnessed this behavior and arranged for a free dessert on the house (classy move on her part). She confided in us that Mike's pretty much always like that, but that he's a buddy of the general manager so seemingly un-fireable. Well, here's hoping someone reads this and thinks the better of Doris Metropolitan, or at least sitting at the bar. Unless you think service you'd get in a Paris tourist trap cafe is appropriate for a high-end steakhouse, you're better off spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.

There are security cameras all over the bar so this location can remain sex-positive and safe for guests. After ordering myself a drink, I chose to relax in their bright pink room with the large bean bag and teddy bear. This was my favorite spot for its light-hearted and playful atmosphere, although the room next to it was pretty exciting as well--with its black-and-white paintings of kinky exhibitionists. During my visit, I noticed that there was a collection of leftover glasses from previous guests. Since it was a slow Sunday night, I thought there would've been ample time for an employee to clean up that area beforehand. There was one barista that night, and while she was kind and made excellent cocktails, her voice was really low--making it difficult to hear her over the music. We arrived sans reservation, but were whisked straight into the courtyard -- arguably the best seat in the house on a pleasant Louisiana evening. Between the soft night air and the glow of the courtyard, the atmosphere alone deserved applause. Fortunately, the food rose to the occasion. The edamame and roasted Brussels sprouts disappeared with alarming speed, and the Amelie Salad was a standout -- generously portioned, fresh, vibrant, and substantial enough to be an entrée or ideal for sharing if you're pretending to be civilized. A special nod to Liz, who elevated the entire experience with spot-on recommendations, warm hospitality, and the rare ability to be both attentive and effortlessly relaxed.
