They are clearly trained to take your order, then your payment, then go off to a little niche far away and make the sub exactly as they want to. If you want extra mayo, or no pickles, or any other adjustment, you are stuck. But, this time, after my last experience, I leaned over the counter and tried to keep my eyes on him and, sure enough, I spotted him start to put pickles and other veggies on it without asking me anything. I called out to him and told him I how I wanted it made and he did so but it was a nuisance. The sub was good again but I don't recommend anyone buy one at this place unless you're happy with the shop deciding exactly how they make your sub. If you want a choice however, virtually every other sub shop in the region will ask you first and give you a chance to tell them how to finish the sub.

I had it topped with two over medium eggs which were perfectly cooked. As I was eyeing the French toast, he gave me a single piece which included their fruit infused whipped cream and was really, really good! That might be my entree next time. My friend got the crepes and her face was doing happy expressions while she was eating. My new best friend Maria kept my coffee mug full-she visited the table frequently to make sure my mug never got low nor cold. She also took care to clean the table promptly as plates were finished. Now if my kids could learn that... oh wait, this is a diner review. The ambiance is cute and chic. There was easy access to accommodate wheel chairs and they have their menu clearly marked for gluten free available and vegan options (most of the menu). The menu is on the fancier side; they will prepare whatever someone wants (e.g. if someone just wants 2 eggs and bacon, they can easily do that). The location is on Main St. so parking is hit or miss. If you are nearby and want something good, this is a good option!

For a ticketed "grand tasting," the cheese selection was surprisingly basic, focusing on standard fare like basic cheddar and colby jack rather than unique, artisanal varieties. The pairings were scattered randomly around the store like an unintended scavenger hunt, and the drink tastings felt rushed and performative amidst the surrounding disorganization. The service only made matters worse. The store's staff appeared visibly stressed and uncoordinated; while waiting in line to use the restroom after our long drive, two separate team members approached to scold us for being inside the store early. To make matters more uncomfortable, we overheard the owner nearly reprimand an employee before stopping herself when she noticed customers were nearby. Basic inquiries were met with subtle side-eye and dismissive energy, making us feel unwelcome throughout the visit. A feeling further compounded as people of color in an environment where we felt distinctly out of place. We left very hungry and thoroughly disappointed after paying for a ticketed experience. We won't be returning.

A reviewer claimed the rolls are old but I've never once gotten a stale one. It's possible the reviewer confused good crunchy Italian rolls with day-old rolls. As a connoisseur of good Italian bread, I look for rolls that are crunchy outside and firm inside and DiCara's are exactly that. They have a friendly staff who make the subs very quickly and never make a mistake on the order. The store has a lot of other food, for example, olive salads and tuna salad which my Mom liked. Also sometimes, you can find various cuttings left over from when the salami sticks near their end sealed up in plastic. Yum! They also have a number of imported products (not all from Italy). I like their imported pastas such as the big Rigatoni and Fusilli. They have some spices too--I always get the Rosemary from Cento. Oddly, they also have an excellent variety of potato chip brands--Utz, Cape Cod, Wachusett, Zapp's, Dirty, and sometimes Wise. Finally, they carry some nice cupcakes & desserts from nearby bakeries.

I would prefer a place with great food that isn't the prettiest, over the heavily designed newer spots that have food that makes you wish you came to a place like Super Sub instead. Always very friendly staff, great old school subs, no wonder they won best of 2026, best sandwich. And many awards years prior! The owner is especially hospitable and I feel appreciated every time I come here.
