We were at the mall and decided to stop by here for lunch. There was a steady stream of customers,…read morebut our server managed to keep things moving. We ordered a couple bowls of ramen, gyoza, extra noodles and extra chashu slices. Food arrived fairly quickly. The ramen was decent for the price. My child ate all the gyoza and fried chicken. I know this is not the best tasting ramen out there. However, I like the location and seating was readily available. It was food court pricing without having to hunt down for a table at the mall's food court.

The food was a 3 to 3.5-star while their service has improved over the last few years (4-star). No doubt the location is very convenient (a solid 5-star). I was there a couple times this month. Lunch was busy on a weekend. Dinner was not busy at all on a Sunday. Lunch: - Roast Pork - Shoyu Ramen The roast pork was marinated on point and the meat was very tender. If it was on bone, it would've fallen off the bone. I was surprised. However, it was a tad dry, but it didn't affect the flavour. Shoyu ramen was quite standard. It was the most basic and economical ramen on their menu. The flavour was not bad. Nothing was over seasoned. The half soft boiled egg was nicely marinated and cooked. I enjoyed the soup, which didn't leave me feeling thirsty. The one slice chashu was on the thin side. The ramen was a little al dente. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal. Dinner: - Gyoza (Pork and vegetables) (5 pieces) - Fried Chicken Ramen (Chicken broth base) - Beef Tongue Ramen (Pork broth base) The gyoza (pot stickers) skin was nicely pan seared on one side. The flavour of the stuffing was good on its own while dipping on the gyoza vinaigrette sauce tasted even better. The one critique was that the temperature was only lukewarm and not hot enough. Fried chicken was set on a side bowl while the while ramen was on a separate bowl in the chicken broth. The fried chicken had a nice umami flavour, yet the skin was soggy. The soup was creamy white with light flavour. The ramen was on the soft side yet not bad. They were generous on the corn and bamboo shoot. The beef tongue ramen was nice as per my friend. The beef tongue was marinated well. The ramen was the same on the soft side. I think they have a lot of room for improvement. The flavour, the temperature of the food and the plating.

The guy in front of me, Deng, looked at me with such envy as he cut in line. This place is incredibly popular! Every time I pass by, there's a long queue. Even on rainy days, people are willing to get soaked in the rain just to have a bowl of hot tonkotsu ramen. While you're queuing, the staff will hand out menus. The ordering system is similar to Ichiran Ramen; you can choose the noodle firmness, broth consistency, spiciness, green onions, oil level, and MSG amount . The basic ramen is only $13. I added a soft-boiled egg and pickled cabbage for $2 each. Although the pickled cabbage is really expensive , I can't help it, I'm a pickled cabbage addict! The pickled cabbage paired with the rich tonkotsu broth was refreshing. The broth was flavorful but not greasy, the noodles were chewy and springy, and the portion size was just right. Overall, it's incredibly good value for money; no wonder there's always a queue. After eating, you really get that "Ah~ this is the taste of happiness" feeling

This time, still a line, but it went faster. This is definitely not a sit down and enjoy your meal w anyone. Order your food from a slip of paper you're given so that by the time you sit, they collect it and place the order. Seats are hard and it is devised where you and then leave. I had the goma vegetarian and my brother the tonkatsu. We both had thicker noodles. However, one could not tell. The vegetarian was loaded with sesame seeds. Now i love those seeds but it was way too much for my liking. Too much seeds to chew on. They also do not put any vegetables on like Hawaii does. Everything is ala carte and that adds up. I simply chose the ramen version without all the add ons. The broth was yummy but again with the loaded seeds, it made it challenging to just drink the soup. I will say, Hawaii has by far better ramen, but this place was ok too. Pricey for for what you get though.

We were seated after a short wait, as there was only one server. They were friendly and attentive. They have quite a bit of ramen options ranging from tonkotsu to curry ramen. I went with the basic tonkotsu ramen and added an egg. I wanted to be able to taste the broth without anything extra. My aunt got their seafood ramen (Nagasaki champon). I was quite surprised by the portion and toppings for each. There was plenty of noodles. The pieces of pork were large and I liked the variety of toppings. The seafood one had soooo much seafood ( small shrimp, larger ones, squid, and mussels) and had plenty of veggies. Both ramens were quite filling. Typically I don't drink all the ramen broth due to it being too salty or rich, but I found their broth had just the right balance. It was flavourful and rich, but not overly in either. Although at first I thought the price was a bit high, the quality and quantity justify it. Overall, it was a great meal to end our day on the island. I'll definitely be a returning customer.
