Decided to get mazesoba for takeout. It was prepared quickly and pick up was nice and easy. Food was nicely packaged and tasted good!

This is my favourite Kokoro location, it's so pretty with all the dried flowers and purple lighting. Service is a hit or miss, but you can call you server via the i-Pad at the table. Washrooms are shared with Tendon Kohaku, but tend to be clean. I tried their ramen once and it was nothing special, but I'm obsessed with their mazesoba, which is always full of umami flavour. Get the free upsize and scoop of rice so you can have leftovers. I like creamy noodles so I typically get the mentaiko cream mazesoba, but this time I tried the katsu curry mazesoba and this may be my new fave. The Japanese curry was so comforting and the chicken katsu comes on the side and was lightly fried to perfection.

This is second experience here. This time I tried the Niku Mazezoba and I chose to make it spicy. I was so happy with my choice! My egg was a perfect googey! Cooked on the outside totally runny yolk. Tasty hot broth and perfect chewy noodles!

Good spot for lunch as the place is airy, tables have distance between them and there is free underground parking. Food is a touch salty but very tasty. Reasonable pricing too.

The food here is very authentic Japanese fare. They have a variety of rice dishes with various types of protein to compliment the dish. They also have ramen selections as well. The service is quick and the dining area is ample size. I would dine here again.

Free XXL size upgrade is now available at Kokoro Mazesoba! My friends & I were very curious about their new menu! You can now get XL or XXL bowls for the same price of a regular bowl. It's is a popular Japanese franchise known for their Mazesoba (souples ramen). Menu includes a variety of mezesobas & also regular ramen with soup. My friends & I all got XXL Niku Mazesoba. It's filled with lots of noodles compared to a regular bowl. We found that we had to keep adding more vinegar & seasoning to our bowls since the noodle ratio was higher. Overall, I would say it's worth getting XXL. We all didn't finish our bowls but it's great for leftovers! Food was delicious. You might not have enough sauce leftover to get the free extra scoop of rice like a regular bowl. Price: Niku Mazesoba XXL $16.50

Limited edition truffle mazesoba: no longer available Sorry for the late review! I'm not a big fan of truffle but i am a big fan of mazesoba... so whats the result? I liked it! I did remove the dollop of truffle and mixed only a little bit of it. I liked that i could customize the amount i could add in that sense. Overall tasted good. You also get a free tote at the end if you order the truffle mazesoba!

i caught up with a friend for lunch on a laid-back monday afternoon at kokoro mazesoba near brentwood at 1901 rosser avenue in burnaby. mazesoba is a japanese noodle dish that consists of freshly made in house soba noodles, thick, chewy, multi grain noodles, unlike traditional ramen, mazesoba doesn't have a broth, making it a dry noodle dish. my go to, tokyo bowl is topped with spicy minced meat (pork & beef), ground saba fish (this is what makes the dish so intense), seaweed flakes, raw minced garlic, green onions, chives, sesame, and a raw egg yolk (this is what makes it creamy). i like to add a generous splash or two of vinegar for an elevated, complex flavour. the noodles are typically mixed with all the toppings, ensuring that it is coated evenly and thoroughly before eating, creating a rich and flavourful combination. it's known for its intense, bold umami flavour and satisfying texture. i also had their japanese crown melon milk, and it was a refreshing, and sweet honey dew drink. they had a bogo promotion going on during this visit.

It's only been a couple weeks since I first tried mazesoba at another Kokoro location near Gastown, but my friends and I enjoyed it so much that we all started craving it again less than a month later. My party of 4 came on a Wednesday evening around 5:30, and we were able to get seated immediately as it was still bit early for dinner. Most of the tables were full by the time we left around 7. I ordered the same thing as last time, the Zenbu Mazesoba ($18.49), which has a ton of ingredients such as chashu, minced pork, soft boiled egg, bamboo shoots, etc. It tasted exactly the same as my last mazesoba dish, which meant I really liked it. It does feel like a very rich meal because of the fatty pork and the thick noodles, but I'm not complaining! Once I got to the last couple bites, everything started tasting a bit salty, so I ate the rest with a small bowl of (complimentary) rice. Now that I've had their mazesoba twice within a month, I think I'm ready to try their ramen next time!

Kokoro Mazesoba is one of the Japanese noodles spots that I would recommend to everyone. They have creative dishes and is unlike any other. They've recently opened a few locations and now have four in the Metro Vancouver area! Each restaurant has it's own vibe. While the one along Lougheed is bright and airy, the one in Madison Square looks like a bar with velvet seating. It's like choose your own adventure but with the interior of the restaurants. Blue lemonade This drink is lightly sweetened with lots of lemony punch throughout which makes it perfect for summer time. I love that the drink is blue but it doesn't add anything to the lemonade flavour-wise. The drinks here are served in a cute pouch so you can easily take it to go afterwards. Passion fruit Yogurt Drink I didn't like this one as much as the blue lemonade. Even though we ordered it passion fruit flavour, it tasted more like peach so perhaps they mixed up the syrups? We were particularly interested in the yougurt element of the drink but couldn't detect the tangy notes from it. It was sweeter than the blue lemonade as well so be mindful of that before ordering. Tokyo Mazesoba This is the most original version of mazesoba served here. It comes with spicy ground meat, egg, green onions and nori seaweed. Something interesting is that if you order take-out here, you get a marinaded egg instead of a raw egg yolk on top. I love that this is the case because it makes it more food safe if you're doing take-out. Each noodle bowl also has dried saba fish flakes to add umami flavour. Niku Mazesoba This is a rendition of the tokyo mazesoba with the addition of slow-braised chashu. The chashu cubes are crispy on the edges and have a good balance of fatty and leaner pieces. This is perfect for if you are feeling hungry and want a little extra. Shio Mazesoba The shio mazesoba also has chashu cubes instead of their signature ground meat. I like that they have chashu options because their ground meat is spicy and not the best option if you're not a fan of spicy food. This one also came with spinach for more greens. Salmon Avocado Mazesoba This is one of their more unique offerings. It came with avocado and salmon sashimi. This dish reminded Grayson and I of a noodle salad. The avocado added creaminess and the salmon was fresh as well. It wouldn't be one we'd go back for because we prefer their classic mazesoba options better. Zenbu Mazesoba The zenbu mazesoba is what I would call the ultimate mazesoba bowl. It has everything in it. Raw egg, marinated egg, chashu, ground meat, bamboo shoots, green onions, seaweed and more! It's perfect for sharing or having on your own.

I've had this sofa a couple of times before in New York but I had not yet tried it on home soil. Although this is a chain, the décor including pampas grass arrangements and neon lighting, really elevated the ambiance. I liked that the tables were set apart from one another, allowing for comfortable distancing. Service was quick. I opted for their best seller Mazesoba. I really enjoyed chewiness it and freshness of the noodles. Although this style of Ramen is soup-less, there was certainly plenty of savoriness to the sauce from the garlic, onions, and spicy pork mixture. Definitely recommend!

Consistently delicious! This location is at Madison Centre, so there's lots of underground parking I have been to their other locations and the mazesoba is always delicious This location is quite spacious and the decor is beautiful The staff are so friendly as usual I got the Mentaiko Cream Mazesoba with a side of steamed rice. The noodles were perfectly cooked and halfway through, I would add some vinegar to the dish for some freshness! The soft serve ice cream was sold out so I wish that I ordered it at the beginning

    best comfort food!

We were looking for a good Japanese ramen place when we visited Vancouver and we found Kokoro Mazesoba. The mazesoba noodle is thick and chewy similar to udon. We came here on a late Saturday afternoon and got seated right away. I tried the curry mazesoba it was very good. It was soupless yet with very flavorful toppings and a perfect egg yolk. This location has a free UG parking garage.

We chose 5 pieces karaage, 1 tonkotsu ramen, 1 ramen flight(chicken soup base, tonkotsu, and vegan) and Aburi Cheesecake(extra CAD5.00) and mochi ice cream. For drink, I ordered Tokyo Sunshine mocktails(pineapple, peach, lychee, lime, mint), and partner had a Sapporo beer. We were so surprised Karaage's portion! They were very generous amount and came on large plate!! Tonkotsu ramen was decent. I liked Chicken soup base one (Ramen flight)which was very creamy and smooth, bold flavor. Vegan one was very spicy. Bean curd on the top was unique. Noodle was very good, too. Mochi ice cream was decent. Aburi cheesecake's torching presentation was amazing. This was second time I had this cheesecake. However, Cheesecake texture required refinement. The last one was better. I prefer more smooth texture. And Mocktail was great. Strong pineapple, lychee flavor and tasted great. Overall, we were really satisfied the meal. Service was great and quick. Highly recommend this special menu while it is available.

The broth for both the Tonkotsu Ramen and the Chicken Ramen were very rich and flavorful. I got the thin noodles and they were not bad. We ordered a couple bowls of ramen, gyoza, extra noodles and extra chashu slices. Food arrived fairly quickly. The ramen was decent for the price. My child ate all the gyoza and fried chicken. It was food court pricing without having to hunt down for a table at the mall's food court.

The food was a 3 to 3.5-star while their service has improved over the last few years (4-star). No doubt the location is very convenient (a solid 5-star). I was there a couple times this month. Lunch was busy on a weekend. Dinner was not busy at all on a Sunday. Lunch: - Roast Pork - Shoyu Ramen The roast pork was marinated on point and the meat was very tender. If it was on bone, it would've fallen off the bone. I was surprised. However, it was a tad dry, but it didn't affect the flavour. Shoyu ramen was quite standard. It was the most basic and economical ramen on their menu. The flavour was not bad. Nothing was over seasoned. The half soft boiled egg was nicely marinated and cooked. I enjoyed the soup, which didn't leave me feeling thirsty. The one slice chashu was on the thin side. The ramen was a little al dente. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal. Dinner: - Gyoza (Pork and vegetables) (5 pieces) - Fried Chicken Ramen (Chicken broth base) - Beef Tongue Ramen (Pork broth base) The gyoza (pot stickers) skin was nicely pan seared on one side. The flavour of the stuffing was good on its own while dipping on the gyoza vinaigrette sauce tasted even better. The one critique was that the temperature was only lukewarm and not hot enough. Fried chicken was set on a side bowl while the while ramen was on a separate bowl in the chicken broth. The fried chicken had a nice umami flavour, yet the skin was soggy. The soup was creamy white with light flavour. The ramen was on the soft side yet not bad. They were generous on the corn and bamboo shoot. The beef tongue ramen was nice as per my friend. The beef tongue was marinated well. The ramen was the same on the soft side. I think they have a lot of room for improvement. The flavour, the temperature of the food and the plating.
