Lovely service and excellent food; what more can you ask for Everything on the menu looked so delicious and they also had some seasonal specials. They specialize in katsu and ramen and I love that they have a katsu-ramen combo for the best of both worlds. The prices are very reasonable and the food tasted great. The staff were super attentive and noticeable right from the start when they offered tea and water (usually I find other places only give you one option unless you request it). They also came to check on us very often but let us eat in peace. I also just loved the little cat chopsticks holders! So cute!

My friend really enjoyed his ramen. I'd say... it's ok. I wished there was more option to add more broth. I enjoyed the location, high ceiling and minimal design. Staff was helpful and food came out more than warm. Street parking available

This place was excellent. It seemed like an undiscovered gem as it wasn't very busy at the time that I went. Our waitress was very sweet and extremely attentive. We had a large party of nine, and they were easily able to accommodate us. Most everyone ordered either ramen or the spicy curry katsu. Although the curry was not as spicy, as I would have liked, it was nonetheless delicious. We also had Japanese beer which went perfectly with our meal. This is definitely a place that I would recommend when you're in the West Vancouver area. The vibes were very cute and I loved the cat Chopstick holders.

Vegetarian ramen (made vegan by subbing gluten-free noodles for the usual egg noodles)

Solid but pricey ramen with a nice vegetarian option that can be made vegan by subbing their regular egg noodles for gluten-free noodles. We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday having seen that they had a veggie ramen ($19), available regular or spicy. We each got the spicy version and subbed the standard egg noodles for gluten free noodles (another $2) to make it vegan. You can also make a combo by adding 5 pcs of veggie gyoza (deep fried it turns out) for another $6.50, not the greatest deal but we did it anyway. The food came out very quickly. The gyoza was fine but I much prefer regular pan-fried gyoza to deep fried. The ramen was rich and creamy due to the soymilk-based broth and the very garlicky character (lots of garlic oil and crispy roasted garlic pieces all throughout the broth). It wasn't remotely spicy despite us ordering that option. For toppings, you get a generous portion of deep fried tofu, plus a single piece of broccoli, cabbage, some nori, bean sprouts, corn, kikurage, and green onions. The gluten-free noodles were OK but far inferior to standard ramen wheat noodles. It's quite the rich meal with that heavy broth and deep fried tofu. We were both stuffed by the end of our bowls. Very friendly service and a pleasant environment. I'm thankful that they can cater to vegans; I just wish they had a better noodle option that didn't cost extra, making the vegan option by far the most expensive option on the menu, which is very annoying -- it should be the opposite. Solid spot overall.

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE 4.5 stars: it's not the cheapest by far in the Greater Vancouver area, but when you're in West Vancouver and you have a hankering for Japanese ramen / tonkatsu, Tenton is well worth the price of admission with good food and service! === 2. FOOD - Miso Ramen ($14.00): comes with chars also; the broth is not overly salty, surprisingly! - Chashu Ramen ($14.50): more chashu than the Miso Ramen - good choice! - Chicken Kaarage ($7.50): who knew honey and soy sauce (?) could team up for greatness?! - Hire Katsu ($17.50): yes, deep-fried pork can be this good! - Katsu Don ($16.50): deep-fried pork, egg, and shrimp should get together more often! - Agedashi Tofu ($7.00): a pleasant hint of sweetness on the skin! === 3. SERVICE The service has been consistently great in-person and on the phone, certainly in English and presumably in Japanese (as spoken in the kitchen). === 4. ENVIRONMENT If someone were to offer a lesson in "good simplicity", it might be someone from Tenton. It's clean, white, and simple - just a bunch of chairs and tables for small/medium groups on a wooden floor with a table outside. Wheelchairs and baby strollers fit just fine. Parking is hit or miss - it's all street parking out front and depending on the time of day, you've got rock star parking, or you're parking somewhere far down on Marine Drive!

Located near the waterfront of West Vancouver is Tenton, where you can some Japanese ramen and katsu The Decor is simple and spacious in here They just started offering dine in the restaurant but it was a nice day so we took the food to-go and sat by the waterfront The Rosu Katsu was my favorite, the tender meat just melts in my mouth. This is a must try! It comes with a side of rice, shredded cabbage salad and miso soup. The Original ramen broth was flavorful but missing some components. For the meat, I like that you get to choose Chashu or Karaage But I would come back to try the black garlic ramen Tip: they offer 10% off for take out

We came in for a late Monday night dinner. It was a big group of us, and we stayed a few minutes past closing. We weren't pressured and and we really appreciated it. The ramen is OK, the broths could have used more flavor. The fried chicken you can get on the ramen was delicious!

We came here on our way to Whistler on a friday afternoon. The servers were all very attentive and pleasant. I ordered the black ramen with chicken karaage. The chicken karaage was a bit tough, and the soup base lacked flavour. The rest of the toppings were delicious.

We went there for dinner right after hiking in North Vancouver, there weren't many choices left after 8:30pm so we took a look of the Google map and found this place! It was quite busy in the restaurant so we needed to wait for around 20 minutes to be seated. We ordered the Black Ramen and Hire Katsu, for 2 people. The Black Ramen was made in creamy pork broth and home made black garlic oil, however, I didn't taste much garlic flavor from that. The noodle itself was right for me, it will be better if being asked how I wanted the ramen to be like - soft? or firm? The cha siu (slices of pork) was just very thin, couldn't really taste that and it was like too plain - not even seasoned or torched the surface. The Hire Katsu was also just OK, not too bad but not so outstanding. I guess it was because of the Katsu batter. The pork filets were not thick enough so it was a bit toughen and not so juicy inside, but the refill of miso soup, salad and rice can be refilled as many as you want. So we got another free miso soup and free salad. The atmosphere in the restaurant is quite cozy and simple, and the staffs were friendly. There is not many other Katsu place in West Vancouver, so this restaurant is definitely one of the special places. Next time if I go to West Van/North Van, and if I crave for katsu again, I might consider going back and try other dishes.

    Spicy miso ramen with karaage

Came here last minute with my partner and had some decent ramen. The inside is small but clean and our server was great. What really threw us off was the chicken karaage in the ramen itself. My partner ordered the pork but was accidentally given the karagee and felt it was too heavy on top of the Ramen itself. I think it's an interesting idea but agree it was just too heavy and the fried chicken quickly became mush in the soup. My spicy miso broth was delicious and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Overall would give it another chance but had some mix-ups with our orders and was a little too pricey for what we got.

Katsu was tender and crispy. Curry was very flavorful. My daughter had ramen and she liked it too. No need to drive to DT. Will come back !

Brand new place, great addition to the food scene in West Vancouver that's lack of variety. Hubby ate there a few times during lunch, and he highly recommended it. We had take out after an outing. The place is clean and modern, and menu is not big. The lovely waitress recommended Hire Katsu for the katsu dish and red ramen (spicy tonkotsu), with a choice of chasu or karaage to go with your ramen. We ended up with the two recommended dishes, chasu ramen for Mr.12, cheese katsu, and chicken karaage for Mr.4. Our order came very neatly packed, labelled, and came with the soup, salads, and all of the sauces. Our food was delicious, the katsu are nicely breaded and still very tender, not overcooked. My red ramen is definitely my new favourite! The broth is balanced and the spiciness is just right. My only complaint is the chasu can be a little more tender, but other than that, that's one yummy ramen bowl! Mr 12 was very happy with his bowl, but I feel that this bowl is missing something although it's still a good bowl of very enjoyable ramen. The chicken karaage are boneless and fried to perfection. Decent chunk of juicy chicken, and came with two dipping sauces that are equally delicious. The cheese katsu is another delicious offering there, the cheese are melt to the right temperature and quite enjoyable to eat. The price is a tad on a higher one but we think it's worth it. Welcome to the neighborhood Tenton, we'll be back for more!!

Arrived during a busy Saturday evening at around 6:45PM and got the 2nd last 4 pax table as a party of 2. Ordered the Red Ramen, the Spicy Miso Ramen, and the Takoyaki. Waited for a long time maybe over 30 minutes). The Takoyaki came first but at the same time they gave us a complimentary order of Pork Gyoza. The Red Ramen is a bit more spicy then the Spicy Miso Ramen while the toppings are identical. I would prefer the Red Ramen as it has more pork bone soup flavour while the wife prefers the other one with added miso flavour. The only issue is that there was a lump of under cooked noodles which were stuck together probably during the noodle making process. The noodles were not made in house, perhaps? Overall, I would still go back as they do a decent job of everything else and their noodles are not too heavy/oily for my taste.

We're always happy with the food and atmosphere at this place. Just that it wasn't our original plan... Anyways, Mom and I both decided to go for a value meal which comes with a choice of Ramen, a side of either meat or veggie gyoza, and a drink. Mom had Chicken Ramen, Veggie gyoza and a Ginger Ale while I had Veggie Ramen, Veggie Gyoza and a Fuze Iced Tea. Mom's Gyoza came with dipping sauce on the side. When I ordered mine though, the server asked if it was OK for the sauce to be drizzled on top of the Gyoza. I didn't realize that the alternative was to have the sauce on the side as a separate container. If he'd mentioned that option, I would have probably chosen to have it the same way that it was given to my mom. He apparently never asked my mom about having the sauce drizzled on top. Hers just came on the side by default. The Value meal was the same price as ordering a bowl of Ramen all by itself from the A la Carte menu. I think I figured out the difference though. You get the Gyoza appetizer and drink with the value meal, which you don't get if you order your Ramen noodles a la carte. However, you get less stuff in your Ramen bowl when you order it as a value meal. My Original Veggie Ramen had only Inari Tofu and scallions on top of my Ramen. The description of it on the a la carte menu though describes it as having bamboo shoots, nori, sweet corn and wood ear mushrooms in it. So...it's a matter of whether you want more variety in your bowl of ramen, or more variety of food dishes altogether.

I loved the taste. Everything about it was on point, and the noodles were not only fresh, but perfectly cooked. The space itself had great Feng Shui, spacing, decor and vibe, and the young lady that served us was friendly, attentive and helpful. As we sat by the window watching the rain drops hurry down the glass with our stomachs growling....our Ramen arrived. The Beef Original did lack a bit of salt. The Spicy Beef Garlic was very good, but there just was not enough soup, so we asked for more soup. This was actually the case with both the Ramen. Not enough soup. However, they generously gave us separate bowls of added soup. This is a testament to their level of stellar customer service, and my mentioning it is only meant for improvement..... For this already cool place.

Paid parking was not too hard to find on the Main Street but during busy dining hours it might be difficult. We got seated right away at the bar since there were no tables open and the service was quick. Traditional Japanese style ambiance and even the bathroom had rounded Japanese bowl sink. As someone who doesn't have chicken broth (paitan style) ramen, I was really looking forward to the original ramen I ordered but I was a bit disappointed in the flavor profile of the dish. The ramen had both chasu and seaweed paired with thin round noodles. The broth was creamy and had a hint of chicken flavor but even adding several rounds of their soy sauce/salt seasoning they have on the side to adjust your broth to your liking-- I found that the richness of the soup was not what I had expected from the reviews that I read prior to coming here. Overall, a bit disappointed in the flavoring of the broth but maybe we came on an off day. I would be willing to give it a shot again in the future if I had ramen cravings and given that it was very affordable ($11-15 per bowl with tip), but I would probably opt to try another place first.

Review #3 for 2026 I…read morereally wanted to like this place. I watched many videos and read reviews before coming here, but it just did not hit the spot. After a cold day of exploring Stanley Park, we felt that ramen would really hit the spot, so we went here not wanting to deal with a wait at Danbo with a hungry and tired toddler. There was NO wait when we arrived here and we were seated immediately... which for a place that was really hyped up, should had made us think twice. There was only 1 other party at the restaurant. Now, the workers were super nice and the food came out quickly and we did eat everything because we were starving. We all ordered the cha-shu tamago ramen, 2 of us got spicy and 2 of us non-spicy. It came with extra chashu and the soft boiled egg for about $20 Canadian. The bowl was a good size and there was a promo for free extra noodles while we were there. Everyone except me in our group took advantage of it because I was too full from my bowl. Now, the broth here is different from other places because it is chicken based and not pork based. Everything I had seen about this place promised the broth is every bit just as good as the pork bone broth... however, the broth we received looked flavorful, but was bland. It was completely bland. There was no richness to it, not even a hint. I don't know, coming from southern California, the flavor just was not there period. We did all eat our food because we were starving, but it for sure did not hit the spot at all. Maybe we got an off day? Otherwise our broth had literally zero flavor to it. We all wished we had tried the other ramen place instead right after trying our ramen. Would I come back? I will have to say definitely no. We do not live in Vancouver and I do not want to waste any meals on a place that did not taste good the first time we went.
