I purchased a 90-minute deep tissue massage through LivingSocial for this place. I made the reservation the day before and was told that they had openings the next day. The place itself is nice looking and clean. However, the deep tissue massage was nothing more than a rub down although I requested more pressure. HOWEVER, the part that TOTALLY unprofessional was what occurred after I was on the massage table for 20 minutes. In the midst of my massage, I heard someone walk in off the street and ask for a massage as a walk-in. The guy also stated that he had a friend with him. The woman at the front desk stated that she could accommodate them. The woman then walked into my massage room and stated that they needed to shorten my massage to 30 minutes to accommodate another paying customers despite the fact that I had a reservation. So yes, I got off the table with 60 minutes left so that they could take a full price paying customer. Apparently the woman forgot that since the massage rooms do not have ceilings that you can clearly hear the conversations which take place in the lobby. Rest assured, I will never choose this place for ongoing service. I was told I could re-schedule for the remaining 60 minutes another day. After I posted this Yelp review, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, the woman called and email me to complain about this review and I was told that they would NOT honor my remaining 60 minutes. She told me to call LivingSocial for a refund...although she already redeemed the voucher. I have NEVER experienced this level of insanity from a business in this manner. Fortunately, LivingSocial was more than willing to refund my money. Even they couldn't believe the story until I forwarded this actual message below from the woman: Kim C. sent you a message on Yelp: Subject: we are not going to honor your LS voucher "Please note: kingstonreflexology will not honor your voucher anymore, please dont show up your appt 8/19th. you could said no when i was asking you if it is ok to reschedule so i didnt have to take another customer. I give 4 stars for the quality of the massage. It was pretty good - though I think my husband's masseuse (Tina) has a lot more experience than mine (didn't catch her name). There were moments when my masseuse put pressure on my spine or when she stretched my leg too quickly that caused unnecessary pain. I give 2 stars for service though. It would have been nice if they would ask us where our trouble areas were. I actually told my masseuse that I would like more work on my shoulders and head, but she proceeded with the standard progression and spent half of the time on my legs. It was good but I still have my tension headache. Moreover, our masseuse asked for $40 tip for the couple massage, which was $120 for 60 minutes. Really, are we tipping 33% now? I understand that the price is lower than most places, but I'm not sure if it's ethical to make up the difference by demanding a larger tip. Speaking of amenities, the receptionist leads you to the room where you'll have your massage and that's where you and your partner change. No robes, just towels. There weren't hangers or a place to put your clothes, just pile it up on the sofa. read more

So happy. I had been suffering with back pain (being a nail tech and constantly hunched over), my back had all but seized-up. I called Kingston and they were able to get me in when i needed. I showed up about 20 minutes early and they took me right away. I was asked if I wanted water or to use the restroom first, which was very much appreciated. I was shown to my room and asked some questions, we discussed my issues, and she understood very well what I needed. My therapist was thorough and incredible. There was a bit of a language barrier, but all I had to do was point and she knew what I meant! She dug out all of my awful knots and god knows what from my back, my legs, my arms, my shoulders! These people are GOOD. the massage comes complete with hot towels. I loved it. And the price cannot be beat. This place is very clean, the sheets and towels smell really good, and they layer everything with disposable (but comfortable) paper as well. I will most definitely be back. I am looking forward to going back, I even hugged the therapist before I left! read more

I was very pleased to find this reflexology center open up in the neighborhood. It is clean, quiet and seems to be growing in popularity. That said, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for an opening. The staff and manager are all very pleasant and professional. They currently have a couple of grand opening specials, my favorite combines a foot massage a body massage, which takes place in heated rooms. It has been a nice winter respite in a room that is big enough to bring a friend or three along and you can hang out in the same room. (Just don't speak too loudly out of respect for other clients.) Yesterday, I brought my dear friend and she raved about this place all the way home. I think that this is perhaps one of the very best foot massages in Chicago. There are men and women working here. I've had three positive experiences, so I'm sure that it's not a fluke. If Portage Park can get a few more new businesses, it should bode well for the whole neighborhood. read more

This place is great! No frills but super clean and the prices cannot be beat! I came here with an Amazon Local deal for a 30 minute foot massage and a 30 minute body treatment. They were very accommodating and I'm so thankful I gave this place a shot. While my feet were soaking in a tub of piping hot water I was receiving a very robust head and face massage. We're talking about the type of pressure where you might be concerned that your fontanelle never closed up- LOL!- and you were worried about a thumb punching through your skull, but at the same time I was sure I would feel better for it and I wouldn't change a thing. Here is another 5 star foot massage place. Again furniture is new and the place very clean with well kept restroom area. I had gone to the place three times. First two times chinese women had given me a foot massage and they knew how to do it. Third time was done by an american girl starting out as a trainer. She was very well gentle on giving a good rub on the calfs and the feet area. So I feel there may have been a miscommunication between the girl and I. I should have mentioned the type of massage to be soft, medium or hard. Her massage was ok but the chinese women knew the location of the pressure points. For a beginner, she had done ok but she has great potential. I prefer the chinese women but if you want s softer, gentler massage then go with the american girl. I prefer the hard range on my numb ankle area. My radiologist told me my blood circulation as slow around the ankle / foot area. read more

Not the relaxing experience that I was hoping for. The first problem: I booked a couple's Swedish massage online. The website said that I would get a confirmation e-mail. That didn't happen, so I had to call ahead just to make sure that we were booked. Unlike at other massage places, I was not asked to fill out a form describing problem areas, areas to work on, or what type of experience I was looking for. Nor did the massage therapists ask us what we wanted. This was the most painful massage that I ever received. I know some people like a rougher touch, but I like slow and pampering. I could not relax, because it was so intense. Plus, the ceilings are open from room to room, so I could hear everything. Conversations up front and in the other rooms, footsteps, etc. I also heard stomping from the floors above me. These issues really took away from the relaxing experience. read more

Wow, just got my first foot massage from Kingston. My feet feel so good that walking on them might be sacrilege. Seriously, I feel relaxed and energized at the same time. I am not a massage guy, but they put me at ease. You lay back on a slight incline. First they soak your feet while they massage your head. Then they give an other-worldly foot massage and finish by wiping your feet down with a hot towel. Nice way to relax and not too pricey -- $25 for 30 minutes. read more

A friend recommended this place and they're a short walk from my place, so I thought I'd try out one of their foot massage packages to give them a shot. I got the 60 minute foot massage, which was listed as including a 15-minute neck and shoulders massage too, plus a foot soak. I thought it would be a step above a standard pedicure massage with a quick shoulder rub. Halfway through I thought the massage therapist clearly must have misunderstood the package I had signed up for because she was giving me the works and as all my stress melted away I thought, whatever, I'll gladly pay whatever this ends up being. I was a little shocked when I went to pay and THAT WAS the foot massage! For the price of a bad pedicure at some places I got the second best massage of my life! The shop is spare, but comfortable and immaculate. The staff were all super nice but unobtrusive. And the prices are simply unbeatable. Instead of massage as a treat, it seems they want to make it an available part of a normal healthcare routine. So wonderful to have them in the area! Street parking is available (meters) and bus service is convenient to the location. After the massage, stop in next door at Josi's for frozen yogurt or go across the street to the art museum. One small word to the wise: you can pay with cards but they prefer cash for tips. You can put the tip on the card, but there's a small surcharge. I could feel the difference as he applied pressure to the different parts of my feet. And then there was the massage. A nice mix of Swiss and Deep Tissue and he really addressed the tight knot of nerves under my shoulder blades. Like many reviews here, my experience here has been VERY mixed. I tried this place out when they first opened in the neighborhood. And I've been back multiple times. It's very convenient and very inexpensive. No frills. Some massages have been great, some have left a lot to be desired. The best way I can describe this place to someone, as far as customer service, would be by comparing it to your neighborhood nail salon. Today, my massage was great, by Rita. She communicated and asked me questions. Today, a different woman "greeted" me, laying across the sofa, by asking if I had an appointment. No hello...Most appointments I've had the greeting is very similar. Previously I had a massage by a different girl, who talked and giggled with her friend, sitting on the table next me, the entire massage. Goes really back and forth like that. The place at least by outward appearance seems clean, availability is pretty open, close to home, cheap. But that's it. If you're looking for a 5 star high end massage experience this is not your place. But if last minute you wake up in the morning and have an extra hour in your day, and decide you deserve something a little extra today. This could definitely be your place. read more

I made an appointment and had to wait half an hour to be seen, people who showed up after me were seen first. So not sure how their appointment system works here. I was disappointed in having to wait so long. There was a man who I'm assuming was also a masseuse kept yelling at the receptionist. I went in for a couples massage with my husband. It was super easy to make an appointment online- however, when we got there they said we would have a male and female massaging us...but for some reason they gave me the male and my husband the female which we thought was weird. Also, the male who was massaging was massaging me so lightly that I barely felt anything. I left feeling like he had not done anything to relax or help me. Neither person who massaged us seemed as if they were actually certified. They did not give us the full 60 min for our couples massage and they also did not massage our feet for some reason.
