I understand it is a complex project that involves both gas and electric, and it took several months just to get the permits. It took my project 9 months to complete. I've had neighbors who got theirs installed by Reliable in 3-4 mos. There were problems I suppose with management organization and things cost me a lot more than initially quoted due to a myriad 'what-ifs'. But it took forever to organize a final inspection. There was little training and seems the expectation is you will figure it out. A couple months after the generator was installed I found the manuals INSIDE THE GENERATOR and they were soggy from the sprinkler system. I guess I should have known they were there and pulled them, but I was oblivious. I asked for replacements because they smelled and were stuck together). NOTHING came. No matter; manuals can be accessed online. The spiel given by the salesman does not mean much. Whatever (s)he says, your costs will likely rise and ongoing maintenance has hidden costs. I am assuming it is the same with every generator installation, so I can say my experience is just average.

I was told that, if I wanted the inspection to pass, I had to pay almost a thousand dollars more, otherwise they will not do the job. My questions are: - they don't know the electrical code în order to do a correct estimate in order the inspection to pass? -It is correct that I have to pay more, for their mistakes? bad generator juju bad generator juju…read morepersonalized power systems retailer and installer paid top dollar... they talked me into a kohler. bad mistake. the company was changing ownership. they installed the thing. never worked for the first almost 8 months!!! retailer sent me back to the manufacturer. manufacturer took no responsibility to restore my 8 months of warranty. it was the retailer that sent inadequate help that did not diagnose the problem. after me purchasing a part and paying their tech to put it in, they sent someone else that did not know anything. and then...a glimmer of a brain. thie new tech rick dicovered the problem! i kept compaining why do i have to get any new parts, it is a brand new machine???? how do i get my warranty for the 8 months back. why did a new generator need new parts? no one remains from the old company! they are blaming the other technicians, the manufacturer, the old owner, the new owner???? i don;t know how to get my 8 months of warranty back. and all of the houirs on the phone waiting for someone that never picked up to respond. please don't buy from these horrible people who care nothing about their clients!!! and kohleer or rehlko did not offer any assistance or any months back on their warranty. i guess they don't think much of their product!!!
