Once again, AA came through for us! I am so grateful to have discovered this wonderful business on Yelp. Thanks to my friends who found these folks and posted reviews long before me! When our AC began acting up again, we tried to fix things ourselves, but that only got us so far. I called AA's phone number, only to hear that David was not working at the time due to illness. David has been so awesome to us in the past; wishing David and his family good health during this time. The clear message listed another phone number to connect directly with David's co-worker. I heard back from this gentleman promptly, and he was able to fit me in before the end of the work day! I apologize for forgetting his name, but this nice fellow called ahead of time to let me know that he was coming over. Based on our conversations, he was able to diagnose and repair the problem at the outside unit. David Marco came out the next day after our call for a leaking handler (our leak shut off does not work... which is nice, for the garage unit, as the AC keeps going even if there is a line clog - would be a disaster on the upstairs so we have extra redundant alarms up there); super nice gentleman, showed up mid-morning as promised with an extra 20 minute heads-up. AA saved the day. I can't share my appreciation and satisfaction enough for them. They are everything you want in a business: honest, reliable, prompt and professional. Dave and Marco are brothers, and a family business is what I prefer to deal with when it comes to home repairs. Dave answered my initial call at 745am and promised to get back to me with a time that they could come out on the same day. Less than an hour later, Marco called and said he was on his way. He found 2 parts that needed to be replaced and completed the job in under 2 hours. He showed me pictures on his cell phone of what he was replacing and the cost he quoted to do so was reasonable by my standards (under $500). I later got a text from Dave, confirming that Marco completed the job to my satisfaction. AA saved the day after another company said I needed to replace the entire unit at a cost of $3500. My AC unit's fan at times has been freezing over and not blowing air at all.. not sure if it was due to a power outage a few weeks back or what.. so I go to my handy-dandy dependable Yelp to inquire nearby providers. I'm so grateful to have reached out to AA with David!! Please read, you may not believe me.. I can't believe it myself.. here goes: The issue was happening on a Friday night- Valentines Day none the less.. and I figured I'd get a call service or voicemail of sorts, so I called fully expecting to leave a message. Well.. lo and behold the owner David personally answered the phone on a Friday Night Valentines Day around 8pm..!! I don't know, but that alone speaks volumes to me (as to anyone) on their service. He was very courteous, and thorough in asking questions and agreed to come the next morning to inspect the unit. Timely upon arrival, thorough, and just felt like dad was coming to help.. (lol- when you speak to him you'll understand what I mean..) He was prompt in diagnosis and quick to order parts. Given that it was Saturday, they weren't readily available and so he agreed to return Monday. Monday my fan was going and the parts did not need to be changed (what is going on?!) so he was thorough in checking the outside unit to inspect the refrigerant and everything seemed to be in order. He asked me to follow up and let him know right away when it happens again to catch it this time around and replace the parts. After such thorough service, I requested he provide me his visit fee- AA doesn't charge any(!) unless there is an actual repair performed. This past week David was out to service our AC. I had written this review that evening but wanted to delay posting it in order to make sure it was accurate and not just 'impulsive'. I had called him after my usual guy (the installer) failed to get back to me for a week or so. I will say right off the bat that David was responsive and showed up when he claimed he would. Down here in So. Florida that in itself seems to be worth 5 stars. Straight away David diagnosed the issue to be that the compressor fan had failed. I thought the unit had a 10 year warranty and he was going to check using the numbers off the part. I received a text saying it will cost $395 to replace. In my naivete, I texted back, "I guess it wasn't covered by the warranty." To which he responded, "If you were out of warranty, it would be $750 to $950". So... I gave the go ahead for replacement. When David went to remove the fan motor, apparently it had somehow bonded itself to the fan blades and he had to replace the fan along with the motor. Both parts were covered by the manufacturer's warranty and the cost was for time and labor only. After the replacement the air still did not cool and he informed me that it was out of Freon. I didn't really understand that as we have the newer 'closed' system. He suggested we might have a leak somewhere in the system, which made me wonder if it were a smart investment to recharge the Freon only to have it leak back out. He responded that if it did leak out... he could come back in a couple of months and do a 'dye test' to locate any leak.... and that he would not charge me for the dye. Of course, it is the dang Freon that is so expensive.... not the dye... well, and of course the labor. Anyway.... long story short, I ended up paying out $530, $85 of which was for Freon and $50 was for his trip to Delray to get the fan blade. The reason I am detailing this transaction is twofold. First, many of the previous reviews stated "fair pricing" and that may very much be the case. But after the transaction I had that gnawing feeling you get when you 'end up with the shorter straw'. A quick check online and I found the OEM part retailed for $125. And had it had not been under warranty and I was charged that $950.... well, that just seems a bit other than 'fair'. The second reason for sharing my experience is to provide my honest feedback.... both to potential customers... and to the company. I respect the fact that this company has garnered such high reviews... but unless I post honestly, I would be doing you.... and them... a disservice. I'm not 'dissing' the workmanship.... as that will likely take a while to discern... and I am certainly not claiming a lack of responsiveness. But... I can only encourage you to be smarter than me by getting bids ahead of time. Sadly, it takes me two to three days of hard labor to cover the cost of someone else's half day. Reminds me of the old joke... guy calls an AC guy for repair and when he is handed the bill, the customer gasps and says... "I'm an attorney and I don't make this kind of money"! The AC guy says... "Yeah, when I was an attorney, neither did I". So... overall... I'd say if you are well heeled and money isn't an issue, then David was there when he said he would be... and that is worth something. If like me, your pockets don't run so deep... friendlier pricing might be something to look for. p.s. I would encourage others to post their costs from this company and others... in order to help establish an 'average' cost. 3/17/2019 ***UPDATE*** My regular AC guy came back into town and straight up he diagnosed a leak in the system . The original lines had been installed in a pvc tube that had not been sealed. Since the lines ran under the concrete foundation, a whole new lineset had to be installed which ran up the outside wall and across the attic. The water getting into the lines created all sorts of issues, water intrusion compromisec the compressor, the expansion valve failed, etc., all of which made the fan motor replacement seem a bit..... well, 'unfortunate'. read more

Three years later and the miracle happened again!! Only now, sadly, my mom has passed away and I am back in Los Angeles and I have her neighbor keeping an eye on her condo in Florida. She texts me that the air conditioning has stopped working. So I of course tell her to call AA American Air Conditioning, based on my excellent past experiences with them. (In addition to my experience that I wrote about in my original review, in the interim my mom had called them once last year and they came promptly and fixed the problem for a very reasonable rate.) Well again David responded promptly and was out within a couple of hours! And again he found a very minor problem (something with thermostat batteries) and fixed it for no charge!! When he could have very easily told us it was something more and charged us for it! So amazing to find such HONESTY and professionalism in this day and age! There is absolutely no reason to look any further than this company if you need a/c repair. Highly recommend this company! I've had 2 A/C issues in the past month in two different houses and both times David was very reliable to come on time, identified and fixed the problems very quickly. The first problem was blown starter because of a frog and the other was blocked water pipe. Pricing was very reasonable.
