My portable generator wouldn't start. I bought it 7 years ago and never tried to. I found Pete (thankfully) and he knew the problems, 1- gas tank was rusted and 2-the carburetor went bad. Was going to be around $600 to repair and may have had another issue or 2. So I researched it and found I could buy a new one for a few hundred more. I had found All Equipment Repairs and Services via Google. My lawn mower needed a repair as it was not starting. To make matters worse, when I kept pulling to start the mower, the pull cord snapped. My lawn hadn't been cut in two weeks and I was hosting a BBQ at my house the following day. I called and spoke to Pete who had asked me to bring it by. I dropped it off and Pete provided a quote and said it would be ready Monday morning. Since I had a BBQ scheduled at my house the following day, I asked if there was any way I could get it back sooner. The next morning I had a message on my phone that the lawnmower was ready! I couldn't have been happier. Pete went our of his way, after normal business hours, and had the lawnmower ready. When I picked it up, it ran better than when it was new. I barely had to pull the pull cord and it started right up. Pete helped me load the mower in my truck and I headed home and cut the grass just in time for the BBQ. Had a great experience from this business this morning. Pete came out as scheduled and spent a hour and a half fixing my generator. He explained everything very thoroughly, told me the dos and don'ts so I don't have the same problems ever again. He also checks back with his customers at the end of hurricane season which I thought was very considerate and received emails from the business explaining everything he did in detail. I would recommend Pete to anyone who needs a great honest reliable mechanic. Also because he comes to your home for people who can't take their equipment to a shop which I was quoted by other repair shops that they were going to charge me $50-75 just to pick it up. Classic bait & switch. Pete promised a free estimate when he came out to us. When he got here he said he couldn't give an estimate because he wasn't sure exactly was wrong. So he started playing around the machine and said he would give us the estimate once he 'got more information.' I imagine we are not the first ones to hear those words. Anyways, after about an hour of tinkering with the machine he still had not given us the 'free estimate.' We finally asked him what the estimate was and he said it was going to be $150. We said no, which is when he said we owed him a $75 diagnostic fee. This was pure Bull. If you tell someone it's a free estimate that's exactly what it should be. Don't start fixing it and try to jam the customer with a ridiculous bill for work they never agreed to. Had I known it was going to be a $75 diagnostic fee, instead of the free estimate promised, I would've taken it to any number of shops that charge $25 for a diagnostic fee which goes towards fixing the item. read more

Received Pete's number from a large corporation specializing in built in generators. They stated, "he is our only referral". Based upon that, I called Pete. We discussed my 15 KW generator's issues (not started since hurricane Wilma in 2005, it's now 2016). Pete showed up on time and very well prepared for the job ahead. A little self history. From 1970 thru 1993 I worked at a family owned amusement park. I worked on small engines and motors daily. Never having worked on a 30 horsepower generator, or any motors in 25 years, I watched Pete perform very closely. It is very obvious he is an expert. No looking around the generator to find carb, shut off valve, start switch or choke. He knew from experience where everything was. He had every part needed for the job with him. He had stated when starting the job it would be an hour and a half job and cost $125 to $150. It took about 2 hours, he spent a lot of time cleaning the carb parts that had lacquered up from the old gas instead of up selling me a new carb. He changed the oil, air filter and gave me a tutorial on the importance of monthly maintenance before he was finished. He accepts all major credit cards.
