This review is overdue... Luke has been repairing our appliances for us for several years now. We have a rental home in FL but live in CA. We used to get our appliances repaired through GE because all of our kitchen appliances are GE and at first, they were all under warranty but as the warranty ran out, being long distance and all, we just kept using GE. First of all, why our GE Monogram appliances that we spent a lot of money on kept needing repairs was the first issue, but the next issue was that sometimes, they sent technicians that were completely incompetent. After dealing with one technician that kept calling someone to give him help over the phone, trying to work on the oven while it was still connected to power (and actually electrocuted himself), ordering wrong parts and having to come back to our house numerous times, we finally decided to look for someone else and my husband found Smart Choice Appliance. From the first visit, Luke was very professional, knowledgeable and fixed the mess the GE technician left behind. Since then, Luke has been our go-to guy. Him and his staff are easy to deal with remotely, their fees are very fair and Luke is very honest. When you first call them, they will ask you questions to see if maybe it's not even a repair issue - something that can easily be resolved. And once Luke comes out and diagnoses the issue, he will honestly tell you your options. Sometimes those options will mean that he doesn't make any money, but he believes may be the best solution for you. As long distance landlords, we are so thankful that we have Luke to call when we have issues. read more

Can't say enough positive about Smart Choice. For the second time, Luke saved us hundreds of dollars. First time it was a refrigerator, this time a washing machine. He came in, knew the problem right away, made the necessary repair in less than 30 minutes. Luke is a genius. If it can be repaired, he will get it done correctly and save you money. Call Smart Choice. The name says it all. You will be very glad you did. read more

Like was great! Arrived on time and confirmed his suspension with diagnostics on my 7 year old GE refrigerator. While he was fixing it and had it apart, he cleaned it. What? I know, right? I would highly recommend Smart Choice Appliance. read more

Smart Choice Appliance - Luke getting to work - Appliances & Repair Near Me - Boynton Beach, Florida

My in laws used Smart Choice Appliance Repair in the past and spoke very highly of their work and customer service. So when we had an issue with a fridge, they were the first company we called. It was easy to get in touch and set up an appointment. On the day of the service call, the technician showed up promptly, walked us through what was going on, and disclosed all of the involved costs. Pricing was reasonable and they did a great job repairing the problem. I would definitely recommend Smart Choice. Good appliance repair companies like this are very hard to find. read more

I called them and they were very professional. I was not able to use them because of timing on the part of my rental unit tenant. I would highly recommend them. Be prepared to wait a few days as they are good and in demand. read more

The best customer service I've ever seen in Florida. Initial contact is by website and fill out a form. Very quick reply with suggestions on problem. I did what was suggested. Next day a callback to see how it went or did I need to set up an appointment. Very friendly on the phone. Set up an appointment, was called to confirm the day before and a call 15 minutes before coming. And DID show up. Luke was very professional, knowledgeable, and I feel truthful. And he spoke FLUENT ENGLISH! Amazing. I highly recommend his service. My appliance was a front loader washer read more

Impressed with his expertise and knowledge regarding our issue. Told us the entire history of the problems GE had had with the condenser fan. Troubleshot the issue and provided us with an action plan to resolve the issue starting from the least expensive approach. He's honest and you can trust him. We're glad we found him and would not hesitate to bring him back. Once you use him you'll be hooked. read more

Had a problem with my fridge and my garbage disposal and they came in and repaired it quickly and efficiently. Even arrived early. Luke very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended. read more

Luke from Smart Choice did an excellent job installing an appliance we got at wholesale through a family member. Many places won't install unless their retail arm sold the item, but Luke is independent. We've used him several times now here in Delray, and he's the BEST. Jane in his office communicates well, he calls on his way to the appointment, he's clean, neat, professional, (mask wearing during Covid), and very reasonably priced. We're fortunate to have such a good resource for appliance repair right in our town! read more

If I could give Smart Choice Appliance 10 stars, I would! I contacted them from California to assess/fix my mom's dryer in Florida. Jane was so pleasant and helpful, and was able to schedule an appointment very quickly. Luke was on time, wearing the required mask and was able to fix the dryer on the spot. Who knew that the new roof had clogged the dryer vent? He also went above and beyond, and replaced the fire hazard connection behind the dryer AND some stubborn light bulbs for my mom. These days, it is so special to find people that do their jobs with such care and respect. I am so grateful to both Jane and Luke, and would call them again in a second! read more

This company is great. From Jane on the phone to Luke in your home - professional, efficient and competent. Our recent issue ended up not really being a problem with the appliance itself but with the electrical supply, and instead of saying, not my job, Luke did what needed to be done to get our dryer working again. We have used them before and will use then again! read more

My washer was shaking and rattling and I needed service. Smart Choice had great reviews so I called them. Luke was terrific. He is honest, friendly and very fair priced.. He even cleaned out and changed my dryer hose for me. I highly recommend him and will use him again when necessary. Great service by his office with calling re confirming appointment and his calling saying he is on his way. read more

SCA is great. My Kenmore range's control board burst into flames, so I needed to find a repair place and decided to try SCA. They're honest and communicative, and know what they're doing. The guy who arrived was very nice, and even managed to get the stove working during his diagnostic visit by bypassing what was damaged. They just finished replacing the damaged parts and the costs were exactly what they promised, no hidden fees or surprises. They have a mask policy, which is great given the current pandemic. I will be calling Smart Choice Appliance for future appliance repairs. read more

Luke was so friendly, knowledgeable and honest! What more could you want in a person and company?! Jane who schedules the appointments was also friendly and kept me informed prior to my appointment! I would recommend Smart Choice to anyone who needs service/repair! Thanks guys! read more

My refrigerator repair with Smart choice was an extremely positive experience. The scheduler was friendly & was able too promptly schedule a repair. The technician called ahead givIng me time to drive from work & meet him at my home. He was courteous, professional & prompt. He was knowledgeable & what impressed me the most was that the company stocks many parts on its trucks. The repair was completed on the same day & the price was fair. Great experience & I'll definitely call again for future repairs. read more

Thank you Yelpers for recommending this company. We ready to have funeral services for our dryer that died on us. Well, Luke did the impossible and resurrected her from the dead. Seriously, he was punctual, professional and fixed the dryer explaining why we had the issue. Reasonably priced and fair is was well worth the price. If you need your appliances tended to, call them. read more

I wish that I could give Smart Choice a hundred stars. This company is both honest and sincere. J called them when my new refrigerator stopped cooling. I spoke to Jane and she could not have been nicer and more helpful. Since my appliance was still under the manufacture's warranty, she guided me on the best options. Her understanding and all around great business practice are truly amazing. I can understand why Smart Choice, Luke and Jane have received such excellent reviews! Thank you! read more

Fantastic and trustworthy service. Our fridge was not cooling for a days and we first attempted to buy a new fridge. Due to COVID, appliances are out of stock and backordered so I researched on this platform and found this business based on previous reviewers. Jane who receives the the repair calls was very diligent and helpful with my short notice for repair and is very responsive. She was able to have Luke come out as the first appointment early morning. Luke who came out to do the repairs is highly professional, knowledgeable, and honest. Diagnostic fees and parts & labor was very reasonable cost backed with warranty. You feel very comfortable having Luke in your home. They just expanded their service around the Lake Worth area and would highly recommend this business for all appliance repairs. Thank you for saving us money and will call again for any repairs! read more

We had a problem with our upright freezer. Luke came out to our home and found that it was full of ice, because the door didn't shut properly. He defrosted it and cleaned it all up. This saved us a tremendous amount of money for all the food that was in it. We highly recommend this company. read more

This company rocks! I was cleaning out my dad's condo in Florida and noticed the washer wasn't spinning out. I called up and spoke with Christina who took a detailed report of what was going on and said that the technician, Luke (who is the owner), would show up between 3:30pm and 4pm. Luke was there by 3:45pm. Luke is a friendly knowledgeable man and gave me a fair quote for what was going on with the washer. He had the parts needed in hand and said that safety switches tend to wear out on the older washers but it pays to repair them as the older washers will last a lot longer than newer ones due to plastic components in the new ones versus metal. I told him to go ahead with the repair. Luke didn't mind me watching him perform the repair and he even showed me little tricks to get extra life out of the machine while it was being repaired. When he finished, he stated that the repair was a lot easier than he thought and knocked off a few bucks on the bill (awesome!). I gave his marketing materials to my family down there as well as my dad's friends. I highly recommend this company and Luke. Smart Choice Appliance has a very bright future in South Florida! read more

My wife and I have been using Luke & Smart Choice Appliance for many years. I won't trust anyone else with my appliance repair. It's easy to tell that Smart Choice isn't just out to make money, but instead in the business of getting to the root of the problem and finding the cheapest and best way to solve the problem. If Luke the technician says something you can rest assured it's the best answer and always the truth. read more

Due to an awful home inspection experience (see my review of 5th Avenue Building Inspections, Inc.), we discovered yet another issue -- our ice maker didn't work. We called Smart Choice Appliance and are very pleased we did! Luke was knowledgable and very pleasant to deal with. He went over and above the actual repair. We felt Luke was honest in his assessment as well as pricing. Because of the bad experience with our home inspection, Luke made us feel better about the refrigerator (one of the only appliances we haven't had to replace) in our new home. With the replacement of the ice maker, the refrigerator should last us a good many years. We highly recommend Smart Choice Appliance! read more

Can't say enough good things about this firm. Jane got me scheduled quickly, and Luke did a great job, was very knowledgeable, and picked up a part we needed that day so I could catch my flight the next morning. Highly recommend. read more

While I cannot rate Luke's ability to fix equipment since we are likely going to end up buying a new stove because ours is just too old and not good enough to spend money on fixing, I can rate his responsiveness. He was very upfront with what to expect in terms of minimum and maximum cost for repair of our stove. I mailed him late at night and received a response in minutes. If I ever have something break in the future worth repairing, he will be the first one that I will contact. Keep up the great customer service. read more

Wonderful service! Very thorough. Explained everything so that I understood. Reasonable rates. And best of all, he came to my house when he said he would. i definitely would use them again. 7/2014 i've used them again and stiil, all good. Highly recommend for all the same reasons. read more

I had the best experience with Luke. Very professional.. Great office support team. Arrived as scheduled. Repaired my dryer in a matter of 30 minutes and the price was more than fair. He made sure the dryer was clean and the dryer vent was open. I highly recommend this local small business! read more

I called another company first and had a no show. After calling smart choice and talking to a real person I decided to wait almost a week for my appointment. I was told that Luke would call before he came to my door. He did exactly that! He was on time and very knowledgeable. I'm so glad I waited for this appointment. Definitely a company I would recommend. read more

The other reviews here represent many satisfied customers, and I am one of them. After being gone for six months, when I tried my washer and dryer, there were problems with each. I called Smart Choice, whom I hadn't used before, and they were able to come the next day. Luke, the owner, diagnosed the problems and fixed them on this visit. He had the necessary repair parts in his vehicle. The cost was reasonable and competitive. I am glad I didn't have to buy a new washer and dryer! Excellent service. read more

Very happy. Just moved into a new place this week and unfortunately the fridge/freezer crapped out on me. So not only did I lose all of my food :-( but now I need a new fridge. Or do I? Nope. Found this place here on Yelp and am not disappointed. I called earlier today (my only day off) and Luke made arrangements to come out today. He then called 20 minutes away so I didn't have to wait all day, then showed up on time. YAY!! Then Luke proceeded to diagnose the problem and fix it. I've never repaired a fridge before, so the $180 repair was a shock. But much better than purchasing a new one, right?! Luke assured me that this was a good unit and worth repairing. I'm not very trusting, but I trusted this guy to fix my fridge properly. Long story short, I had him fix my wine cooler while he was here. They have a yearly cleaning that I will most likely sign up for. I think $150 to go through all my appliances. Pretty much worth it. Luke seemed very knowledgeable and honest. Very important to me for someone in MY house. Thank you. read more

Luke is terrific. He is knowledgable, efficient, straightforward, pleasant and professional in every way. It is a pleasure to have him in my home because I can rely on his work and his integrity. There just has to be someone who can meet his high standards so he can leverage his business ... read more
