Our 4 yrs. LG smart French door refrigerator stopped cooling. I spent hours throwing away spoiled foods & condiments from the refrigerator & freezer. Neighbors recommended Ultimate, it was in our BBB book as a 5 yr. recommended business. I checked the 5 five star Yelp, google, Angi and Next Door reviews, I called at 10 AM and RJ arrived at 6 PM. RJ was personable, professional and very neat. I was happy he showed up when he said he would and solved the issue. He assessed our appliance and diagnosed a faulty compressor. Repairs were 1/3 of the price of a new refrigerator, we all felt it was a worthwhile repair. On line, I checked Home Depot and a local appliance shop, his pricing was accurate. The refrigerator is now 2x the price we paid 4 yrs. ago. When scheduling the appointment, I received a confirmation email. I was asked to text a picture of the model & serial number from the appliance in advance. RJ came with all the parts & equipment needed to do the repair. He spent 2 1/2 hours replacing , soldering & cleaning out the lines. He accepted credit cards & we received an email receipt. RJ left his card & told us not to fill the frig for 24 hours. RJ followed up with us the following day. He believes the service contract companies aren't worthwhile as they don't hire quality technicians. I had ultimate appliance come out for a frigidaire dishwasher in one of my rental units. He originally scheduled me for the next day, but then had a cancellation and was able to arrive within a few hours of my initial contact. He then called me to review the work necessary and price before starting. The work was done and he was on his way and my tenant ecstatic to have the issue resolved. I called them because my washer was leaking a little (I could still run a load and mop up afterward). I knew washers shouldn't leak at all, so I decided to get it checked. They charged me $149 just to diagnose it, which felt overpriced, but I understood it was their flat fee. The technician told me I needed to replace the washer because fixing it might cost just as much. Fine, I accepted that and planned to order a new one as soon as I got paid. However, the next day, I tried to run another load, and the washer kept turning off. It turned out that the technician had turned off the water supply without even telling me. After figuring that out on my own, I turned the water back on, only to have my entire gym area (where I keep my washer and dryer) soaked. Apparently, the technician had opened a few things inside the washer and didn't bother to properly close them, assuming I was getting a new one soon. In the end, I was charged for a diagnosis I could have done myself, and now I need to buy a washer immediately because they left mine in worse shape than before. I do not recommend them. Since I had called and explained my experience, they told me they were going to call back, but they did not. I already left two voice messages that they are clearly ignoring. read more
