Reliable. It's in your name. Therefore I expected reliable service. But know that unless your generator is in an easy to access space, they may refuse to service your generator. Mine, unfortunately, is on my roof but there is there an access ladder on the side of my 3 story townhouse. (important to note that my AC is also on the roof and I get that serviced) So thus begins my story. Reliable was recommended by a neighbor to service my all house generator, so I reached out and scheduled an appointment as they were also recommended by the brand of generator that I have. I purchased an annual service plan and they came out quickly, replaced the battery, did a tune up and helped me get it up on line with the app since I didn't have wifi when the generator was installed. I was very pleased with the level of service. Fast forward 6 months when I got a service disruption message on the app. I called to have them come out. Their service rep shows up to do the work but says he has no ladder to to access the ladder that is on the side of my unit and that someone will call to reschedule. I wait 5 days for them to call and then call them back and they say they will be there the next day. Great. The next day I get a text confirming they will be there and that I am the 2nd appointment. 5 hours later I call to see if they are still coming and then they tell me they don't have the right technician or equipment to do the job. All of a sudden it's a 2 man job and they don't have the people to do the work. This back and forth trying to get the unit serviced went on for a couple of more weeks. Customer service is very hard to reach. They will not put you through to the manager, Daniel, they say they are going to call you back, they don't- I actually had to have someone else call from a different number and a pretend address to get through to a live person. Ridiculous! Long story short- they did the right thing and fulfilled the maintenance contract that I had and then promptly sent me an email that they were cancelling future work on the unit given it was on the roof and hard to access. So the three star rating is for knowing their stuff when they actually show up, and fulfilling their obligations which I appreciated. I just wish it hadn't taken so much work. And know if your generator is easily accessible you may have no problems with them. As for me, I reached out to the generator company to let them know of the challenges I had and that they should make note before they recommend Reliable that they should ask where the generator is located. read more

First of all, their maintenance agreement is super expensive, $490 per year (my bad for not researching other companies). Had an appointment with them to have routine maintenance, and they sent a technician who arrived and said they could not do the service due to their inability to lift heavy equipment. In other words, they could not perform the maintenance that was scheduled. Additionally, I waited 5.5 hours for the technician to arrive. I called the Reliable and asked to speak with a manager, who was not available. I was told they would call me back. I called again the next day, and they said someone would call me by the end of day. It's now been a week and a half and no one has called me back. On top of that, the CSR's have been curt and dismissive as if it was my fault. Not friendly, not Reliable! read more

A company that arises out of law firms. Their contracts are abundant in red tape, with caveats and situations to increase costs. I understand it is a complex project that involves both gas and electric, and it took several months just to get the permits. It took my project 9 months to complete. I've had neighbors who got theirs installed by Reliable in 3-4 mos. There were problems I suppose with management organization and things cost me a lot more than initially quoted due to a myriad 'what-ifs'. But it took forever to organize a final inspection. There was little training and seems the expectation is you will figure it out. A couple months after the generator was installed I found the manuals INSIDE THE GENERATOR and they were soggy from the sprinkler system. I guess I should have known they were there and pulled them, but I was oblivious. I asked for replacements because they smelled and were stuck together). NOTHING came. No matter; manuals can be accessed online. The spiel given by the salesman does not mean much. Whatever (s)he says, your costs will likely rise and ongoing maintenance has hidden costs. I am assuming it is the same with every generator installation, so I can say my experience is just average. read more

Reliable Power Systems - The company who saved the day on my property - Electricians Near Me - Deerfield Beach, Florida

I'm extremely disappointed with how Reliable Electric has handled my project from start to finish. I requested quotes for two work orders and paid a deposit. They scheduled the work for a Monday, so I took PTO--yet no one showed up. When I called, I was told the appointment had been moved to Wednesday without any notice. On Wednesday, the electrician completed only Work Order #2 and didn't touch Work Order #1. I was then told that the original electrician had quoted Work Order #1 incorrectly and was no longer with the company and that I now needed a new quote. I don't understand why they proceeded with Work Order #2 if Work Order #1--the foundation for the rest of the work--wasn't going to be done. To make matters worse, not all of the electrical work they did complete is functioning properly, and they're blaming it on Work Order #1 not being done. They sent out another electrician who was professional and helpful, and I genuinely tried to give the company another chance. But the new quote was unreasonable, especially considering I had already received four quotes from other companies before choosing this one. I contacted the office to request a refund for Work Order #1 since no work was ever started, and the deposit I paid for both work orders already covers the cost of Work Order #2. Despite this, I'm still left with incomplete and partially non‑functional work. I've been calling for weeks, and the office keeps telling me they don't know why management hasn't contacted me. It feels like they're stalling. It has now been over a month with zero communication from anyone in management. This has been incredibly frustrating. I chose this company because they appeared professional and were listed on Angie's List, but my experience has been the opposite. I've been polite, patient, and respectful throughout this entire process, and I still can't get a simple callback to explain what's going on or how they plan to resolve this. This situation needs to be addressed. Use this company at your peril. I agree with the reviews posted by Kyle J., Fred T., Candice V., and Jerry C. as I have experienced the same disappointment and disgust with Reliable. I just spent $585 less than a month ago for monitoring and maintenance after Reliable installed my generator 3 years ago. A service technician was dispatched to repair but, inexplicably, no actions were taken to fix the problem (apparently a battery replacement and starter were recommended). Moreover, no one from Reliable bothered to let me know that a new starter and battery were needed. It should be noted that the technician called me when he arrived and I gave him full authority to fix the problem, having been without power for over 12 hours the weekend before. Last night my generator was not working. When I finally got to the bottom of what had happened (that the service guy did not fix the generator and it's not operable), I requested a full refund for monitoring and maintenance and was told it was "non-refundable" as my "maintenance visit" was performed, even though the problem was not fixed. I would have paid for repairs not covered under warranty -- what's the point of having an inoperable generator. The quality of customer service is abysmal -- good luck reaching any live decision-maker by phone. All I wanted was a generator that does what it's supposed to do, when it's supposed to do it without issues which is exactly why I chose this company. Big mistake. Unfortunately, I've had to file a complaint with the BBB. read more

I'm currently with Reliable Power Systems at about $560 per year, but I'm not thrilled with a recent experience. An error code showed up online, so they sent a technician out. After about 30-40 minutes, he told me there was nothing wrong with the unit, performed a reset, and said everything was fine. Despite that, I was billed $275 for a "diagnostic" visit. The generator is under a 10-year warranty and covered by a maintenance agreement, so I'm having a hard time understanding the charge when no repair was needed. read more

I had my generator installed early last year and to get the job finished I literally had to go all the way back to the salesman to get someone to respond to me. I had a terrible experience withe this unreliable company i feel I was mislead and treated with no regard and would recommend not using them.I had used them for years for my generac generator I moved and the house I bought had a expensive kohler generator.I asked if they have a qualified kohler generator mech.The said they do the sent over a very nice technician who didn't understand the basic codes on the machine told me something was wrong.He then told me he would call kohler and check with other techs.Next morning my pool equip was not working the next day..I requested a manager,some how when he turned off my generator to change the battery it shut off my pool equip.I called reliable back four times to plead with them to send someone over to get the elect part of my pool equip on.i explained I have four grandchildren coming this weekend and need the pool They told me my tech was of but could send someone 5 days later .I requested to speak to a manager I got a phone five days later.The last rep I spoke to on Friday was condesending.I finally called assurance power out of Delray the tech came over said the machine was fine it just needed a basic service .The irony is the are called reliable power what a joke of a company read more

I've had an annual service contract with Reliable for 3 yrs to service my whole house Generac generator every 6 months, and they are NOT client oriented. Their customer service is terrible. 3 weeks after this last 6 month service, the orange light came on and when I called Service they told me they would charge me a normal service call (several hundred dollars) just to come out for diagnostics. Then when I argued that this service failure should've been discovered during the 6 month maintenance they refused to take responsibility. I've left two messages with the service group and nobody will call back. Terrible company. I've got to find another company! read more

No call / No Show / No returned calls - I made an appointment on 10/2 for Monday 10/7. I was told that a technician would arrive between 8 AM and 4 PM and that I would receive a call in advance of arrival. I confirmed the appointment with my credit card (I was surprised that I had to provide a credit card before the tech's arrival, but I was told that they simply will not book an appointment without my credit card) and arranged to stay home for the day. At 3 PM, I called and reached an answering service. No call back. On Tuesday, I called Reliable again and was transferred to their answering service. I left a message. 48 hours later and I have not been contacted. I spoke to Reliable again today, 10/11. The agent told me that your records indicate that a VM was left for me on 10/2 requesting a callback from Reliable. I asked the agent if they had access to the recording. They did and listened to it only to find that no VM was left for me. I was then told that I should be more patient as I called during a hurricane. That is a fabrication because I called on 10/2 before anyone knew about Milton. Reliable has so many negative reviews. It's clear that you have more customers than they need, so their standards are abysmally low. read more

Run the other direction. It's been months since we paid our deposit and zero communication. Several times we have called and the phone rings 50 times. No machine nothing. The sales person has gone silent "if" someone does answer they "know nothing" and say they will have someone call us. Half a dozen calls later nothing. We checked to see if the permits been pulled. Nope ! We asked for our deposit back since they refuse to even talk to us. Nope it's non-refundable. Funny the people answering the phone know nothing except they do know the deposit is non refundable. At this point I have no expectation of getting my generator. My next move is to report them to the FL Attorney Generals office. read more

I see other complaints about this company, and I hope that this will not be something we need to go through. I hired this company to put in a generator after seeing their commercials on TV, and seeing all the high reviews online. I can say that my experience has been horrible. First off, the permitting process took months, just to get the approval to install the generator. After the install, city permitting workers came out countless times sighting issues that needed to be resolved that seemingly didn't get resolved because they'd get flagged again for the same issues. The biggest being they installed the generator too close to the natural gas line, which caused them to move the generator over about 18 inches and needing to install a giant junction box on the outside wall of my house. Not a great look. During the install and clearing permits, it's almost impossible to get ahold of anyone to get a status update. I'd call and leave messages, email - repeatedly - before I'd finally get someone to reply. Fast forward a year, I discovered they installed one of the junction boxes incorrectly to my pool heater, causing it to fill up with water... so another repair. Now after the first year they hit you with a $600 per year contract to continue to monitor the generator for issues. Even after I signed it, I still get an email asking me to sign up every couple of weeks.. I've responded a dozen times telling them I've signed up for the monitoring program and to stop emailing me. Now the icing on the cake. I'm paying $600 a year for them to monitor for problems. Today we lost power and the generator didn't turn on. Looked at my mobile app, and it shows the cell signal used to monitor isn't working. I open the generator and the control panel that runs the entire system is blank and not working. Obviously a major problem... and isn't that why I'm paying $600 a year for Reliable to monitor for problems and fix them before they cause an issue? This monitoring program is a scam. If they were actually monitoring the system they would've seen that my generator didn't exercise on Monday as scheduled, and that I've been offline over a week! Calling to ask that question just got me on the line with some low level customer service person, who can't do anything but set an appointment a week from now. If you're going to install a generator, look elsewhere. ***UPDATE Jan 31st 2025 - Reliable called to try to get me to remove this post that they were 'unhappy with', and because I wouldn't they fired us as customers, refunding our monitoring fee. *** read more

Generator is finally in and gas is almost in. A lot of bumps along the way, most unforeseen. I think as a consumer in SW Florida, we have to support our local businesses and companies. Successful ones will succeed and others not. Regardless, no one can predict how long permitting etc will take. Who gets the calls but the contractor. No one can predict things that will go wrong, who gets the complaints but the contractor. I think this company has done a good job , so far. All I want is a generator that does what it is supposed to do when it's supposed to w/o issues. I want the same contract I signed w/o issues. I don't want installer issues. The same things we all want. I know my salesman deserves a raise Jim Craine is wonderful. my only complaint so far is the fence gate. This being my 2nd Generac Gen. (1st lasted just over 14 years) and this 2nd one was purchased from Reliable. I had the other unit serviced by the original company twice a year until they went ' bust' and then hired a local company to do the semiannual maintenance (they were terrible by the by). Yesterday (Nov'24) Mercy from Reliable showed up (as scheduled and on time) and WOW(!) what amazing service (on my 6-month-old system) I observed. I have never had close to or equal service since owning the Generator(s). Thorough and complete was what kind of service I received. Though I should not have been surprised after watching their installation team (yes team, not just one or two guys either) in action during the install of my new Generac 6 months ago. I waited YEARS to get a generator for my home (just in case) and I finally got it! I had to go through city permits which took nearly 3 months and then the work began! I have no problem waiting for permits to go through. As long as i got my generator installed was my only concern. I had workmen digging the yard for the 320 gallon propane tank to be buried and the slab set on the yard and the generator hooked into the electrical panel Reliable installed on my house. This later had to be moved because the exhaust from the generator was near my homes front door which scared me because of the carbon monoxide. Here is where the one star came off: When the inspections on the work began I failed the inspections because 1. they left a bracket unsecured to my wall, I ALSO had to ASK for my soffits to be blocked off so that none of the carbon monoxide fumes would enter my home. When i asked, "do a lot of customers ask for their soffits to be blocked?' the workman replied, "we do this on every job I dont know why they didnt do it on yours." WOW...ok. There was also some spaces where the soffit wasnt covered and those were supposed to be foam sealed and Reliable said foam sealing is not in their contract so they suggested caulking the spaces that were left open. I dont care as long as it passes the inspection. They did end up using the foam as per the citys request. In their behalf all the mistakes were corrected and they even relocated the generator so that the exhaust didnt face my front door like it did the first time they put the generator on its slab. I feel a lot better and am very grateful they faced the exhaust away from my home. Even though the company didnt advise me to get a CO2 smoke detector (the electric guy who came to inspect from the city told me I had to have one of those) I did buy one and its up in my living room by the door so if any CO2 comers in it will alert me with a high pitched chirp. It is now well over 4 months and my once a week phone calls have stopped from the company updating me on their work. I am wondering if this project will ever get finished! There were two hurricanes which thank goodness did not hit where I live otherwise I would have really been mad that this wasnt completed in a timely manner. Now I feel this is just a waiting game to see if Reliable passes the inspections and then WHEN will they be at my house to show me the start up and how the generator operates. I am not that concerned but I feel a little out of the loop as I wait for the jobs completion. I made a call to the company on Nov 14th to ask if someone was going to start up the generator to make sure it was working correctly and to show me how it works and to ask IF the inspections were all completed. WELL, Dave the project manager took the blame as he told me and was mad at being blamed for dropping the ball on my project. THEN i got a call from Sonya who told me they have me scheduled for monday the 21st. I said IF it goes to December it will be FIVE MONTHS from beginning to end on my project. I am just happy we did not lose power this year die to the two hurricanes that came or way. NOW who was at fault for burying my file and never finishing the job? I dont know I am just glad I called and started the ball that was left rolling again to get this job completed. This has been a long journey! I am glad it is nearly completed. The generator and its installation has finally passed all its inspections! I am so happy for that even if it took almost 5 months to get this all together! It was worth the wait! I am confident if we ever lose power my generator will work like a champ! read more

I called a 3 times the main office for technical support and never got a call back for an important question about my changes in my system while I did some construction. Day of construction, luckily, I had my original salesman's number - David Y. He explained what I needed to do and he came out the very next day to check on what I did to the system and confirm there wasn't a leak in the propane tank and capped and tested the generator. David is the Best!!!!! Whoever works the phones needs retraining. read more

The team at Reliable Power Systems were on top of ALL my issues and yesterday completed all the work that was previously left undone. Unbeknownst to me, they did not have the proper equipment last week to finish the second double tap. Now I have an itemized invoice with plenty of photos of the before/after work. The technicians were top notch, and working with Bradi Andrews in their front office was such a positive experience. I posted here on 8/8/23 about how I couldn't get a return phone call from Reliable or MBM regarding the status my generator project and got two phone calls that day. Amazing! The woman from MBM said that the permits were being held up by the Palm Beach County Permit Department. She assured me that I would receive a call by 8/17 as to the status of my permits. The second call from Reliable that afternoon from Reliable said that I should be hearing from the installation department once the permits were secured. Well, 8/17 has come and gone. I called Reliable yesterday and spoke to the "overflow" person. She promised that someone would contact me right away. I'm glad I didn't hold my breath. I had a Generac Whole house generator installed by Reliable about a year ago. the installation went smoothly and was completed on time. My job required that a 500 gal. propane tank be installed in my paver driveway due to space requirements. After the tank was installed, my driveway was returned to its original condition perfectly. Recently after heavy rainfalls, there was settlement around the "box" installed in the driveway that contained the fill valve, and the tank monitors & gages. I called Reliable, and they responded quickly, sent a tech out to see the problem, and within 2 days my driveway was done perfectly. I have nothing but good things to say about Reliable and would not hesitate to recommend them, They worked professionally, and did a really great job on the generator installation without inconveniencing our household.
