Can I leave zero starts? I tried but have to leave one to enable me to post.... Terrible service. Showed up at the incorrect time to give an estimate, so I wasn't home and didn't get a quote. I decided to go ahead even after that experience only to be schedule a week ahead of time and for them to no show me and not call to give me a heads up. Scheduled "first call" 8-9, 10am I call and they told me that the tech wasn't going to be there until mid day. These folks are either (A) Completely disorganized, or (B) Have zero respect for my time. Either way its a terrible way to do business. Unfortunately it seems to be the South Florida way of doing things. As I indicated on the phone when I called them, "if I treated my clients like that, I wouldn't have any left". Do yourself a favor and find a company thats more organized and has respect for your time. I'm the CEO of a tech company in Fort Lauderdale and to get an entire day away from my office with a ton of folks reporting to me is tough, and these guys completely disrespected my time. read more

The entire staff at Elcon Electric is courteous, dependable, and professional. When we moved into a new home they hung kitchen and dining room lighting fixtures for us and installed LED high hat lights in the living room and the master bedroom. They were prompt, showing up exactly when they said they would, and the areas where they worked were spotless when they left. After Hurricane Irma we did not have electricity in parts of the kitchen, but did in other parts. They scheduled an appointment within days and took care of the problem. (It was a defective breaker.) This past week the electrician that has worked in our home after the hurricane, J.J., helped troubleshoot and solve an electrical problem we were having with some outdoor lighting. J.J. explained things to us in a manner that we could understand. We are totally pleased with Elcon's quality of the work, the capability and knowledge of the staff, and the fairness of the charges. I had my 18-20' ceiling lights changed to LED and also the cans and trim changed to white. That was done by Mike and his partner in no time and without any complicantions. I also had a very expensive ceiling fan that hadn't been working for 4 yrs that I thought I would have to live without. We had a power outage in our back yard, and I called Elcon to schedule an appointment. Rather than grabbing on to the appointment and also charge me an appointment fee like the other company tried to do (that's what Perfect Electric tried to do - do not use them!), Beverly walked me through steps to first test and reset all the power outlets in our back yard and determine that they were actually working! Hurray! 15 minutes spent with me on the phone in the most courteous and professional manner will go a very, very long way. I will definitely use this company for any electrical work we will need in the future - and there are always electrical work to be done in this climate. Highly recommend! Update: we ended up calling Elcon for installing another breaker in our house circuit. Everything went just as seamlessly from scheduling to the actual visit. I needed work done on an outdoor patio roof that was being removed and replaced. My regular electrician was no longer serving customers but recommended Elcon. I called to get an estimate on removing a ceiling fan and its wiring as well as moving an electric box and rerouting it. The estimator showed up the next day. And my estimate was $955. I laughed. I went elsewhere and got the work plus a couple of extras done beautifully the next day for $260. I assume the company just did not want my work so they insulted me with a ridiculous estimate that wasn't even itemized. Go elsewhere. read more

I set an appointment for a service call and waited for the 4 hour window. I got an email, asking for my correct phone number. They had written it wrong. I sent the correct number over and waited. Finally at 3 hour and 40 mark, of waiting for the electrician to show, they called and said that they could not get past the guard gate and left. We don't have a guard gate, we are a private house. They had 2 phone numbers for us, which they said were wrong and then went to the wrong house. What's next, here hold this toaster while I fill up the bathtub? If they can't find the house, I don't want them working on my electrical system. Think about it. read more

The job: installing a Level 2 charging station for an electric vehicle. This required swapping out some breakers in the main fuse box, running 50+ feet of electrical conduit through my attic, and running the conduits across/down two outside walls. Pretty much every aspect of this job was a pleasure. From interacting with the office, scheduling a time for a visit to evaluate and quote the project (then rescheduling it, when something popped up for me at work), paying the downpayment and balance, scheduling the actual installation, and of course the job itself. Jason was super-professional, conscientious, meticulous, friendly, and a bunch of other adjectives that will doubtlessly occur to me after I hit "post" on this. The finished work site looks beautiful. I would ask for him again in a heartbeat. Elcon's was not the cheapest quote but I chose them for two reasons: the care shown for the customer by the office team, and the extra attention to detail demonstrated by Jason while quoting the job. What would have been my second choice was a company that had done a job for us in the recent past but it took several weeks of calling their office to tease a job quote out of them. I liked the other company's quoted price but I had more confidence in Elcon and Jason, and I was not disappointed. read more

Sean (again, hope that spelling is correct) arrived on time and fixed what he came to fix. We asked about a separate problem that another company said couldn't be fixed because "they don't make that part anymore." Sean took a photo, ordered the part, and sent a quote within days. We had built trust at this point, so I scheduled another appointment and in a week it was fixed, too. There really aren't many companies like this around anymore. Very professional and experienced company! I originally found Elcon through Home Depot when I purchased two light fixtures in 2014. They installed the fixtures quickly and correctly. They were also able to satisfy my condo's certificate of insurance requirement without any issue. When I moved out last week (2016), I tried going through Home Depot again, but they had stopped offering that service. Luckily, I saved Elcon's number and was able to contact them directly. Again, they cooperated with my condo's insurance rules and we're onsite within the referenced timeframe given to me. The electrician (Mike) was very knowledgable and friendly! He even switched out an original fixture that wasn't working so I wouldn't be charged by my landlord. Now that I'm in my new apartment, I already see some new opportunities for Elcon's services! I asked this company to come out and check out an electrical issue that I was experiencing. They came out and said they checked everything and nothing was wrong and left. The problem continued and got even worse with more than half of the house electricity going out. I called them and asked them to come back and they said they would not unless we paid them again. They do not stand by their work and seem to just want to be paid for doing nothing. I rely on reviews for people coming to my house. I read reviews and thought this was a good company. I got burned out of $130 and I'm off to find another electrician to solve this problem read more
