By far the best experience I've had with electricians! Dennis and Christina were very responsive and helpful. The technician for my EV outlet installation was on time and quick. The best part was the final price was actually much less than I was quoted, which was already more reasonable than others! Will 100% call back for any other electrical needs. read more

I am selling my house and needed electrical work done to code to move forward with my sale. I spoke to Denise and he was fantastic at telling me what I needed to do. He was knowledgeable about the correct codes in my area. Bill was the technician who showed up in a timely fashion and completed the job well. Wasn't the first or nor will it be the last time I use them. Thank you read more

I had a ghost in the electrical works at Club Cabeza, it manifested itself with power surges, appliances with attitude, melted ice, spoiled milk and more. I was in desperate need. I called Dennis at UES and had a great experience all around, here's why: * Marcus, friendly electrician, was polite, knowledgeable and courteous * Dennis said Marcus would be here at 8A, and he was on time, big BONUS! I cannot stand contractors and the like who aren't punctual. * Pricing was better than anticipated. #Score! * My disco ball and associated lighting is back in action, chicka chicka yeah! UES comes highly recommended. I plan to use them for all my electrical needs henceforth. Perhaps a new storm generator is in the cards? Cabeza, OUT! read more

We needed a transfer switch installed for our back up generator. We called several places and the quotes were not within our budget. I found Universal Electrical Services and was immediately reassured by Dennis, the owner, that he'd be able to help us. The next day, he personally came out to my home and explained step by step what needed to be done. He did it in half the time the other companies said it would take. His was work was clean and professional and I would highly recommend Universal Electrical Services in a heartbeat! Thank you Dennis!! read more

I was selling my house last year and needed to replace an old Federal Pacific board prior to buyer's inspection. Dennis, who is THE MAN, and his team got the job done professionally, quickly, and at a price I didn't imagine could be had. A side note: I did the permit pull myself and when I went in to order the final inspection the clerk told me to remind him he was a week out from needing to renew his annual fee. I was so happy with his services and fees, I didn't think twice and paid the fee for him then and there. Inspection the next day passed in five minutes. A rare gem of a businessman - honest, skilled, and professional. read more

Excellent work and communication, honest and fair pricing. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an electrician.

We throw a party every year that has grown exponentially year after year. With this growth came the need for more electrical outlets and wiring/electrical is definitely not something I would put my hands on! A friend of mine referred us to Dennis. I was a bit nervous about what this job would cost and having my house burn down from a shoddy job. Dennis came out and I immediately felt comfortable because his experience was apparent given the knowledge he shared. He was confident and entertaining to say the least. He finished our job sooner than expected. Worked clean, was on time and didn't take us to the cleaners. Oh and did I say he was entertaining? Great guy. I highly recommend Universal Electrical Services! Thank you Dennis! read more

Dennis and his team are fantastic!!! My bf and I live on the West Coast and have a place in WPB with temporary tenants in place and right into their second week the electricity was having issues. Since our property manager was useless I had to utilize YELP in hopes of finding someone and Universal was it. Dennis was able to get someone out there ASAP and the issue was fixed immediately!!! The team is honest and caring and completely trustworthy to answer all your questions and take care of your electrical needs!!! I wish more people use YELP on the East Coast for their everyday needs besides dining because YELP is really great and useful. read more

I recently had a tenant move out unexpectedly from one of my investment properties and was lucky enough to find a new tenant very quickly. While my contractor was in there getting the place ready for the new tenant he found some strange wires and didn't feel comfortable messing with them. I called Universal Electrical Services and they got someone out there that same afternoon, diagnosed the issue and came back early the next day to make the repairs. I was so nervous that I was going to have to delay my new tenant moving in but because of their quick response time, no time was lost. They did a great job. My contractor was super impressed with the work they did too and assured me that the electrician on the job was an expert. The price was super fair and the service excellent. These guys are the real deal. Thank you! read more

I called Dennis after getting robbed by another electrical company. I told him what happened and that I needed an appointment to help with an outage with the power to the dryer. He came out the next day and evaluated the problem and found the cause and corrected it within the hour. He is by far the most honest, knowledgeable electrician, I have ever met. He will be our electrician for family from here on out. read more

We lost electricity one night this past "winter" when we turned our heat on. Checked all our boxes and nothing would work to get it back on. Contacted Universal as soon as they opened and talked to Dennis who instructed us to reset the main box outside... Hubby did what he said and it didn't work. Wouldn't you know- at 8:30 am first thing in the morning - Dennis came to our house to try and reset the box himself, and it worked! Still don't know what we did wrong lol, but Dennis saved the day and I was so shocked that he was willing to do this for us when we were not existing customers or had ever had any contact with him or the company. Truly a great man and rest assured if we ever need electrical work done this will be the company I call! read more

I Googled for electrical service for the Sunrise/Plantation area and I was fortunate to find Universal Electrical Services. When I called Dennis (the owner), took my call. I told him what needed to be done and that I do work full time. He said he could have a technician at my home at 7 AM. Bill, the electrician was professional, knowledgeable, and very courteous. The work was completed within an hour and I was off to work. And a plus.....price was more than fair. I highly recommend Universal Electrical Services. Olivia C. read more

I received a phone call from my tenants Wednesday saying that the electric in the living room was not working. I am always weary to trust companies seeing that I live in Georgia and can't be present for the repair. I called Dennis Wednesday and the repair was made Friday morning. I needed a circuit breaker replaced. Dennis was professional, courteous, and accommodating in regards to working with my tenants to find a time that worked best for them. I will definitely use Universal Electrical Services in future if needed. read more

This is my first Yelp review, and no better business to leave it for than Universal Electrical Services. Thank you to Nick for your patience and caring attitude and likewise to Mike for doing the work as promised and explaining everything to me completely. You guys came out right away and did a great job. Could not have asked for a better experience and you have a customer for life as a result. Kudos to Universal Electrical Services! read more

It was Dennis and company (thanks Bob) at UES to the rescue after a water leak in the wall left me without any kitchen or outdoor lights. Fast, friendly service and a quick fix. Thanks guys! read more

I can see again!!! 4 out of my 5 recessed lights were out and I was on my last light in the kitchen. Thank goodness it was the one over the coffee pot :). Jose came to fix - took all about 10 - 15 mins and all my lights were back on - YAY! Punctual, knowledgeable and helpful. Informed me of what the situation was and possible future occurrences. Will definitely recommend. read more

Yesterday morning I get the dreaded phone call-the (six month old) hot water heater is spraying water! I shut off the water, but not before getting zapped a couple of times; electricity was arcing from god knows where and melted the water hose. Realizing I needed an expert, I immediately called Universal Electrical Services, headed by the experienced and renown Dennis Fontaine. He personally took my phone call, and understanding the severity of the situation, dispatched his top worker Bryant to my house. Bryant needed to return this morning to finish the job, and when Dennis said he will be there at 7am, Bryant was knocking at 7:03am. Excellent example of professionalism and commitment to service! He worked the problem until finally solving it, and upon getting the invoice, I went from dread to pleasant surprise. The bill was more than reasonable and fair. No doubt in my mind I will be calling on Universal Electrical Services for all my electrical needs!! read more

Great personal service! I live in San Diego and own a property in Weston that needed some electrical work. Dennis kept me informed what was going on and they quickly fixed the issue. Thanks! read more

I highly recommend Dennis and his team! We called them for a double tapping repair and he responded immediately and they came out the next afternoon. They were reasonably priced and even honored the quote even though the work was more than they anticipated. Dennis kept us informed throughout the process and on the status of the repair and send a copy of the invoice and photos after the repair. Dennis was extremely professional, worked early and late hours and he is now on my list of preferred vendors. I have also shared his contact information with other real estate agents! Thank you for a job well done and look forward to doing business again in the future!! read more

Called these guys out to repair lights that haven't been working. They rewired and repaired the lights great! Next day switch is making noise, the owner says after making me wait a week for someone to come out "that is not included in the repair". I find that response ridiculous, charging me extra to come and fix the problem I originally asked them to fix! You would think the switch to turn on the freakin lights is part of the repair?? Started off good and ended bad, I wont use them again! read more

I had purchased one of these new LED light fixtures that hang from the ceiling and as much as a pride myself on rising to any good challenge, I had a number of concerns about doing it myself because I had never hung an LED fixture before and I have 12 foot ceilings in my home. Based on a very positive review here on Yelp and because he was located in my hometown of Plantation, I called UES and presented my situation to the woman who answered the phone. She immediately put the owner, Dennis, on the phone and he was able to provide me with a very reasonable estimate right over the phone so I jumped at the opportunity and set up a time to get the work done. The electrician, Bill, who came out to do the work promptly arrived right at 7 am and completed the job efficiently in less time than anticipated (and this was an unusual piece that required some significant know-how and expertise to assemble). There were no extra charges and the final bill was extremely reasonable for such high quality work. As a post-script, I should add that after the work was done, I decided I wanted to add a dimmer. I called their main number at 7 am on another day and the owner, Dennis, personally answered the phone (no machine, no automated system). When I checked in with him later in the day, he had emailed some suppliers and found what I needed... Even though I had given him 2 part numbers that were each off by a digit!! I would highly recommend UES for excellent service at very competitive rates and especially for great personal service! That's hard to find these days. read more

I called Universal Electrical based on their Yelp reviews. I needed a good electrician to come check some suspect work by another electrician that was causing my dimmer switches to flash on and off throughout my house (common neutral interaction). When I called, the owner himself answered and listened to my description and discussed possibilities for what the problems could be. I was so impressed that he took the time, that I arranged for one of his electricians to come out. Bryant was very smart and a good troubleshooter, gave me explanations, and cleaned up thoroughly. I had absolute confidence in him. Net result--we found and corrected all the problems. Universal Electrical is my go-to electrician now. Have it done right the first time! read more

I'm not finished with everything yet . I bought a foreclosure and needed electrical work done ASAP . They literally came out the next day . They were very efficient and detailed and so far the prices are good ,( he knows I'm a teacher and can't afford too much ). Literally EVERYtime I've called to get work done with this ,( as I've said we are still doing stuff ), he has answered right away and sent someone out right away . He explains everything he is doing in detail . I've been very impressed so far as I've had problems with literally everyone else doing the work they are supposed to , but not him or his company . Really , if you need someone you can trust , this is the guy and company to call . When I'm all finished I will post again and with pictures ,( if I can ). read more

I've been looking for a dependable, honest electrical company for years as no place has been able to fix my issues. I found UES, saw some good reviews and gave them a call. My first surprise was that Dennis, the owner, answers the phones! I explained my issues, made an appointment and the technician was early as promised. Jose was polite, professional and patient as I ask a lot of questions. He fixed the issue, performed some preventative maintenance and ordered parts to permanently correct. I called to follow up and Dennis (who knew all the details of the job) explained some other measures we should take, he is even working on getting some better prices. If you are looking for an electrician give UES a call, you won't be disappointed. read more
