Ambiance - drive through, expect a wait as it is a well known, well liked spot in the area! Service - our only interaction was with the cashier at the window, she was efficient & got our order right but not exactly friendly. Food - excellent prices, tasty burgers, big portions of gems (aka tater tots for those not in the know) and French fries. We didn't know which of the 2 of the 9 burgers we ordered (7 being cheeseburgers) were pizza burgers since they were not marked. We had to individually open each burger which was less than ideal. Unfortunately the people who had the pizza burgers couldn't tell us what made them pizza burgers and said they didn't taste much difference between the pizza burger and the cheese burger (pro tip - get your cheese burger "loaded" or they will come plain with no condiments, just cheese). We had a Bee Bop, that was interesting; something of a flavored cola beverage. The malts and shakes were phenomenal. I'd come back here to try other flavors and burgers for sure! read more

The "loaded" burger had less on it than a simple burger from McDonalds. in my mind a loaded burger would have lettuce and tomatoes on it. Plain frozen patty that was thin and tasteless. The coleslaw was just shredded cabbage without any sauce. Onion rings and fries were fine but nothing to brag about. Best thing that was actually great was the fried mushrooms. First off, if you are most interested on size when it comes to burgers, please read no further. You get what you pay for. I had heard great things about this place from locals as well as from my wife's relatives that grew up in the Billings area. This place has been here since I want to say the 1950's. It's a small drive through burger joint with a couple of park benches out front. To my knowledge, you can't walk up to order food, only from your car. Reading the reviews, many say the wait can be substantial and sometimes 10 or more cars deep. When I arrived I was the 6th car and sitting on the slow lane for a good 5 minutes before I was able to move into the parking lot area. Got up to the ordering speaker and waited a good 5 minutes before I was greeted. Ordered my items and was another 15 minutes before I got to the front. So about a 25 minute wait at least from the time I pulled up until I received my food. I ended up ordering a flying burger basket, a double bacon cheeseburger with 2 sides of ranch. First off, the prices are very low for burgers, so I was assuming they weren't 1/2 lb burgers and more like McDonalds size. Well, they were smaller than McDonalds hamburgers...which I really didn't think was possible. First we'll start with the flying burger, which is more of a gimmick. It's a tiny TINY burger...maybe 2/3rd's the size of a regular McDonalds hamburger patty or smaller...we are talking maybe 1-2oz at the most. It's sealed inside to buns with some sort of sandwich press. On the inside is a mixture of onions, pickles, mustard...you can add lettuce and cheese for extra. That was $2.25 with cheese I believe. Flavor was fine, I like the mixture of the toppings...it was just so small. The bacon cheeseburger was the same sized patties, except two of them with cheese and one thin slice of bacon cut into two pieces. Again, very small and maybe a tiny bit bigger than a standard McDonalds cheeseburger with a slice of bacon...that was $4. Again, flavor was just fine. Although, they are fairly greasy..and we are talking about thick orange grease that drips down your fingers. Onto the rest. The basket came with a small sized fry which several people said was decent size. They were correct, I was perfectly fine with the small sized fry. Good amount and they were fresh cut with the skin on. Fries were very good. They also had a medium and large size. On a small side note...whatever brand of ketchup packets they use...they taste weird. There is some spice in it that I can't put my finger on, but it doesn't belong in ketchup. The basket also came with a small container of cole slaw. It was also pretty good. Nice and cold and crisp. I'm always hesitant to get cole slaw at places in case it's not kept correctly. Was solid cole slaw. Lastly, one Yelper suggested to try the ranch dressing. I'm a huge ranch fan, so I grabbed two of them. A quarter each. That Yelper was right...this was some of the best ranch dressing I have ever had. Tasted homemade and not from a jar or a powdered mix. So, long story short. Burgers have solid flavor, but are extraordinarily tiny. Cheese cost extra. Fries are very good, homemade and good size servings for the money. Cole slaw is solid and ranch dressing is the bomb. I will be back as several people mentioned the chicken fingers were solid as well as the fish sandwich. I also saw that during this winter they have chili..which I am always down to try. Plus I'll be back for a handful of sides of the ranch. It's won't be an all the time stop as It's on the other side of town from me and I prefer the large burgers like Fuddruckers and MooYah. Decent place to stop if you like old school burgers and don't mind if they are tiny thimble burgers...LOL. read more

Signature Flying Burger probably appeals to children, I imagine. It's a toasted disc with a small party and condiment relish. The cheeseburgers were good...my dogs enjoyed them very much. A large Hot n Tot (cinammon coke) for $2 had little to no cinnamon flavor. The Sysco frozen onion rings were bland and unsalted. For $2.50, they could include a dipping sauce, but they charge .25. The fries were made from real potatoes, I saw a huge bag of them while I was waiting for my food. Hot n tots are a great drink, like a cola with some cinnamon flavor added.
