1 Cup of the chicken rice on the left and two cups of the chili on the right. We are going to put it on our fries but it wasn't very good.
    The3wiers ..

Run..... We ordered The cowboy Burger with fries ($8.50) the bacon cheeseburger with fries ($7.50) the soup/salad bar ($5). *The meat is frozen patties that work completely unseasoned and barely cooked. * The Bacon came out Raw. *The poor excuse of a salad bar had Brown lettuce Rotten Tomatoes and poor quality vegetables. The salad bar consisted of the following salad mix, cucumbers, tomatoes, Pepper's, cheese, eggs, carrots, squishy melon, squishy watermelon, * For soup they had chicken and rice soup and chili. The chicken and rice soup was very Bland and you couldn't taste really much of anything. The chili on the other hand was kind of spicy and was filled with lots of chunks of tomato and onion and peppers. I know a lot of people like this type of chili so I did not knock any of the hit points against it. * service now that's a whole different subject. They sat at the front and took a while to wait on us because they were busy having a conversation. This is not a wait to be seated place this is a seat yourself and we will eventually get to you place. You're not even greeted coming through the front door.

You get a LOT of food with their breakfast skillets! You get your choice of ham, sausage, or bacon. SO filling!

I suppose that when you order Steak and Eggs in Montana, you should expect the full 12 ounce! Absolutely outstanding food and service.

Road trip breakfast stop. Awesome. Beware the burrito...HUGE, but delicious. Also had eggs, hash browns, French toast, and pancakes.

We ended…read moreup here because we needed something open late and their kitchen was open till 11 which is not common it seems in Billings. If you're an iced tea drinker, I highly recommend getting a spiced iced tea. I was skeptical at first, but it's actually just cinnamon iced tea and was lovely. I had the nachos with ground beef. The sauce was not a generic out of the can sauce. the chips were crisp and the ground beef was well seasoned. The only complaint I have if I have to have one is that the jalapeños were very thickly sliced and took over the entire flavor of any bite they were in; a smaller dice on them would've allowed for the jalapeños to be spread out over the entire nacho and not overwhelm the rest of the flavors. My companion had the mushroom Swiss burger with fries and said they were both a solid burger and fries no complaints. Wheelchair accessibility: accessible parking across the street with a crosswalk; the front door is heavy so you're gonna either need help or be able to open a heavy door and there's actually two doors but plenty of room to maneuver between. the path of travel wasn't bad and there's wheelchair accessible seating in the back of the restaurant. There is no wheelchair accessible seating in the bar area. The bathroom door was light .The accessible stall in the women's bathroom had a grab bar, but there was not sufficient turning radius and the soap was up a little high.

Restaurant was about half full of diners and there were several servers on staff. We were seated quickly and our very friendly server attended to us just as quickly. Got drinks ordered and allowed us a few minutes to decide. We did ask for some suggestions and she nailed them for us from appetizers to salad choice and entrees. My sandwich was really good. Seasoned very strongly and matched well with the au jus. Fries were crispy and delicious as well. One of my employees ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf. I didn't try that but did take a few of his brussel sprouts - easily the best brussel sprouts I've ever had. Rich and buttery but still with a nice crunch from the char. So good! Other guy ordered the Sockeye and it looked perfect (he ate the whole plate so I know it was!) Vibe was cool also. Dark woods, cool lighting, comfortable seating. The historic charm and atmosphere make this place something special. The ladies started with the jalapeño margaritas, and I kicked things off with an Old Fashioned made with bourbon--both were excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly, the soup was rich and flavorful, and the baked potato was the perfect complement. If you're visiting Billings and looking for a classic steakhouse with incredible food, warm service, and timeless character, Jake's Downtown is an absolute must-visit. I'll definitely be back!

Our waiter was young but seemed to have trouble understanding the orders, ok no big deal. Then he had to clarify my drink request, again no big deal. Salads and soup came out, my onion soup was very good. A major disappointment was "we are out of baked potatoes " which seems odd since one of the potato options is made with baked potatoes?? After some time our entrees came out. My ribeye was actually cold but the mashed potatoes were hot so obviously the steak sat waiting on other entrees, we only had 4. I told the waiter to tell the chef and he said he would, not would you like me to take it back? Another entree was the chicken dish which was requested to have sauce on the side, his response was "I wrote it down", again not "would you like me to have it fixed " I guess if you go push your server to make it right.

I was raised in New York & let me just explain that as I was eating this super delicious & gourmet meal it tasted like the food @ your upscale restaurant in New York City. Who is this chef I wonder? The restaurant itself is nothing fancy, but probably nicer than other places around. The service was at first only one server, but as it got busier I think they brought out another. That said our server was as nice as could be and gave us advice on our choices. We also decided to split a salad and she offered to serve it on two plates with different dressings... VERY NICE. I had the Elk T-Bone. I believe it came with huckleberry sauce... I thought it could have used a little more as it paired well with the steak, but was only enough for a few bites. The roasted brussel sprouts had some that were black... too done. I thought the potatoes were over done as well. My wife had the fillet. Overall it was cooked medium rare as ordered, but most of the center was probably more rare... but it's not easy getting that cut perfect throughout. The potatoes gratin were tasty as was the steak. Asparagus was cooked perfectly. My wife had the lemon bread pudding with berry ice cream. The ice cream was good but she couldn't eat the bread pudding as it was too dense. I had the chocolate bar for dessert and enjoyed it. Overall we had a nice dinner. I'm not sure I would go back but wouldn't steer anyone away wanting to try it there.

The decor is a bit circus like with scant furnishings and a crazy red checked floor. However, one look at the menu and you realize they they are innovative with menu design and constantly pushing the limits of unique food combinations. Today, on the sign board, they had a blueberry BBQ sauce. The servers are busy and customer service at times wavers. We ordered the "Best of Bash" burger with blackening seasoning, bacon, goat cheese, onion ring, arugula, garlic-basil mayo and a splash of sirachi aoili. The burger was dense and somewhat dry, while the sirachi was a small dollop it was tasted in only one bite. The beer battered onion rings were heavy and sweet. The cajun fries were good. The burger, fries and rings are decent, but not remarkable. I felt The Burger Dive may thrive in competitions, while serving the masses is more of a challenge. Rather than dwelling on my assessment, please give The Burger Dive a chance and rate them on your own. It is hard to besmudged a business when they have a large and loyal following. I wish The Burger Dive continued success.
