I caught them right before they closed for the day and decided to try something new. The chicken salad sandwhich was loaded ! & the mango, spinach, and pineapple smoothie was I wish the chips and beverages weren't soo overpriced tho

A Neighbourhood spot that is clean fast and delicious. I have a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich with egg a couple of mornings a week.

Love this place. My go-to lunch/carry-out spot in Anacostia. Delicious comfort food, great breakfast, and very friendly service.

Your eye is visually drawn to plants and the green and wood calming decor. It instantly felt like a neighborhood spot where people were working and some were sitting at tables for 2 engaged in conversation. The staff was kind and helpful to a first timer like me. I told them I wanted cold tea and he recommended one that was so good! Blacker the Berry was sweet and delicious. Highly recommend. They also sell items from individual vendors and have information about them and their goods. I would absolutely go back here over and over to meet friends and enjoy tea and coffee.

What a gem of a Black owned coffee shop! I love that it's more than just a café, there's also a…read moreplant shop and even a yoga studio, which really adds to the whole experience. The atmosphere is super zen, relaxing, and peaceful, with thoughtful decor and a calming setup that makes it easy to unwind. There's ample seating, with a mix of tables in both the front and back, plus some bench style seating. My only small critique is that the benches could use a bit more back support, they get a little uncomfortable after a while. But maybe that's intentional lol. Didn't notice any outlets nearby either. I tried the viral grounded matcha, and it was good! The usual grassy flavor of matcha is really well balanced here. That said, I'm not fully on the matcha train, so I probably wouldn't order it again, but that's just personal preference, not a knock on the drink itself. Parking wise, there's some street parking just beyond the shop on a side street, but it's limited. Overall, it's still a great spot to hang out, get some work done, or just enjoy a peaceful moment.

We ordered the build your own omelette…read morewith roasted potatoes, french toast with berries, white chocolate chip coconut macadamia cookie, pain au chocolate croissant, blueberry scone, peppermint hot chocolate, and chai tea latte. Total came out to approximately $55. What's hot - Menu. Good variety and there appears to be something for everyone, even possibly vegans. There are sweet and savory options, eggs, french toast, salads, sandwiches, etc... - Quality. Excellent! All 3 of us really enjoyed the food that we ordered. Their french toast and omelettes are delicious. My husband particularly liked the maple syrup that was served with his french toast, because the maple flavor tasted a bit stronger than your average maple syrup. Their pastries are also delicious! Soft, good texture and not too sweet. Given the softness, my best guess is that their sweet treats are recently made. - Service. Pretty good. We did not wait very long for our orders to be ready. The hot foods, like the omelettes, french toast, and drinks, appear to be freshly made. - Price. Good value for money, given the quality and portions. - Location. Convenient location in D.C. However, given the location, be prepared for it to get busy quickly, which means decent lines and wait times. What's not - Interior space. Very tight squeeze inside. There are tables and chairs inside, but their biggest tables can only fit 4 people. If you have children with a stroller or whatever, be prepared to not have room inside. They have outside seating, but that's only conducive to when the weather is warm. This place appears to be popular, which means it can get packed very quickly and seating can be difficult to find. - Acoustics. They play relatively loud music inside, which makes it difficult to have conversations with those you're with. That the interior is small, the music travels easily, which does not help. - Omelette. Even though I liked the flavor of my omelette, it was rather thin. I prefer my omelette to be more weighty/fluffy in texture. Additionally, cheese is not automatically included with the omelette. I ordered mushrooms, red peppers, spinach, and bacon in my omelette. I mistakenly believed cheese was automatically included, but I was wrong. - Parking. Is not easy to find given the location. There is street parking, but it's very difficult to come by. Final Answer Would like to come back, but probably not a first choice given the tight squeeze of the interior. If I do return, would more likely than not order takeaway.

First things first did you know that Maketto has been around for 11 years! That's amazing, especially for a small business. And I fully understand why, because this place is a gem. Maketto is a Cambodian, Taiwanese blend restaurant that is surprisingly open from 9 am- 10 pm most days. I love the vibes, the exposed brick, the food, drinks, and the bartender was super friendly. So my friend was telling me that the restaurant used to be half retail store and half restaurant. I'm sure I would've wanted to come in here just to browse all the time because they're definitely trendy and in tune with the culture. Now to my experience. I tried their fried chicken wings and the lo mein. Both are medium plates and large portions. Between my friend and I we were stuffed at the end of dinner and still took some food to-go. All of their dishes come family style and they are not skimping you with the portions. The food was all fresh and soooo flavorful! Kudos to chef Erik, who also owns/created Providencia up the street. I'm so excited to come back to try more because everything sounds delicious. One little word of advice is to check if the restaurant has a private event booked before heading over. I recently tried to go for an early dinner on a Saturday and there was a wedding getting ready to happen. BRAVOOO Maketto, I will be supporting frequently :)

The brisket also was unique with the buttery tasty. I saw this place was known for their fried chicken, but it wasn't anything amazing to me; worth skipping.
