Biscuits and gravy, home fries, and two over easy eggs for $8.79!
    Richard S.

Was in the mood for some biscuits and gravy. Since my favorite Brookland spot Murray & Paul's don't have it on the menu, I decided to give Brookland Grill a shot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love this classic, greasy old school diner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff member working the register was super friendly. Food was delicious and crazy cheap. Please give this neighborhood gem some love so they don't go out of business and get replaced with a damn chain store.

    Scrapple Egg and Cheese Sandwich

He had drove pass this place on many occasions and we were discussing breakfast and boom, we landed on this place. When you walk in, there's a nice crowd and they're busy taking orders and cooking up tasty food. The menu has a ton of options to chose from. Because I'm notoriously greedy, I snagged the scrapple egg & cheese sandwich AND the biscuits and gravy and he had the waffle platter. Everything was delicious, flavorful and reminded you of Sunday breakfast.

A nice breakfast spot that give you a good amount for a low price, but unfortunately the taste isn't as good as the convenient portions. I got the sausage with 2 eggs option which comes with grits, potatoes and 2 pieces of toast for about $10. The grits had no flavor at all and the potatoes were ok. The toast has jelly already on it, but they didn't put much on it. Parking is difficult because it's on a street that has a decent amount of traffic. You might luck out and get parking right in front or near, but you'll more than likely have to park a a block or two away.

This place is divey (I mean REAL divey) but they whip up a mean and hearty breakfast. With so many delicious breakfast staples on the menu, it was kinda hard to choose. I decided on the Waffle Plate: a Belgian waffle, turkey bacon, turkey sausage, and scrambled eggs and cheese and it was great! Everything was cooked to order, just the way I wanted it, and the wait wasn't long at all despite there being a few customers ahead of me. Definitely coming back to try out the rest of this menu.

French toast, turkey bacon, and homefries. Huge portions! All delicious!

I have passed by this place several times and never thought anything of it. Until, that is, I was craving french toast. Decided to brave the DC summer heat and walk over. There wasn't anyone in the restaurant when I arrived so I was able to order right away. I ordered french toast (that craving was strong, let me tell you), turkey bacon, and home fries. My total came out to just over $10 which I thought was very reasonable for all I ordered. The restaurant itself is what some would describe as a "hole in the wall." It definitely looks a little run down, but I find the best food comes from these types of places. There are 4 tables with 4 chairs each inside, but they pack everything in to go containers. It seemed like a very small operation, as only two people were there: one taking orders, one cooking. When I got home and looked at my order I was blown away! The portion sizes were huge! Massive! The french toast came with SIX pieces, there was about the same amount of bacon, and the home fries were loaded to the top. Everything was delicious, and I could only eat about half in one sitting. Essentially, two meals for $10! There's nothing to complain about here! One suggestion, call to order ahead. It did take them a little bit of time to cook up everything. Very fresh, but if you're working on your patience, do yourself a favor and just call beforehand.

Great spot for cheap eats. Ordered the French toast which was very nice in flavor. They also gave me a bunch of Turkey bacon which was also good. Overall great amount of food for the right price

The photo doesn't do the burger justice. It was juicy, flavorful, and filled with great taste. My only suggestion would be to lightly toast the bun, as it was served a bit cool. Our server, LB, was fantastic! He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout the meal. We rolled up during happy hour and the bar was already three deep with concert goers, professionals still in their work clothes, and a few locals holding their usual spots. There were no open tables in sight but that didn't matter. We found our corner of the bar fast, and honestly, that ended up being the best seat in the house. A band played soft in the background. Servers moved through in outfits that said upscale, not sports bar. The whole room had that pre-show buzz, dressed up but not stiff. We blended in well. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip on a local's recommendation. It came with warm chips, sour cream, and a house made salsa that quietly stole the entire appetizer. I wanted a bowl of just the salsa. Our server, who clearly knew the menu inside and out, sold us on the smoked salmon, and we added a side of bacon mac and cheese along with the cornbread. The salmon looked right, cooked medium with real smoke on it, but the smoke won the fight against the fish. Mushy inside, more fishy than smoky should allow. The sauce didn't rescue it either. Sautéed spinach on the side needed salt, plain and simple. Then the cornbread and mac and cheese showed up and reminded us why we came. Rich, comforting, with the kind of flavor that makes you forget the salmon happened. When I'm back, I'm ordering both of those twice and calling it a meal. Drinks were the real win. A Saratoga sparkling water kept things clean between bites, and the Peartini was one of the better cocktails I've had in a while, balanced, not too sweet, actually worth the price. The seat beside us turned over twice during the meal, first someone who went to the concert a few days earlier and wanted to talk about it, then someone else who slid in for a quick drink while waiting on their table. Both ended up in easy conversation with us, no forcing it. That's the part I keep thinking about, not the salmon. Copper Canyon got the room right, the drinks, the starters, the easy conversation with strangers. Some nights the food is the headline. This one, it was the people and the vibes, making it a great after-work or pregame pitstop, and that's always worth gathering for.

The quesadilla took forever... we assume they probably forgot it. It was poorly put together and did not come with sour cream or pico as advertised. When I went to order another drink I was told happy hour was over at 8. The menu states 9:30p. At that point we were over it. The skin is crispy and the wings are properly seasoned and cooked. We also got the burger. It was good, but slightly over cooked from the "medium" I requested. The pizza was very good and cheesey. It almost tasted homemade (in a good way). I'd get it again. Ambiance: It's a local bar with plenty of TVs to enjoy the game. It's tucked away in an industrial area off Route 50, and unless you're looking for it, you'd probably never know it was there. We had a party of 12, and almost everyone in our group was visually impaired, including my mom. Dining out with a group like ours can sometimes be challenging, but the staff did a really nice job. As the only one at the table with 20/20 vision, I can honestly say they took the time to explain the menu, answer questions about the food and drinks, announce themselves when they approached the table, and help everyone through the payment process. Those extra touches meant a lot and made everyone feel comfortable. I ordered the wings and a drink, and my mom had wings, a salad, and a drink. Everything was fresh, the wings were cooked well, the drinks were good, and the portions were generous for the price. The restaurant itself has a cozy, laid-back neighborhood feel. It isn't a fancy place, but it's clean, comfortable, and somewhere I'd happily come back to. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because of the service at the end of our meal. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, but apparently his shift ended as soon as he took our orders. The manager and bartender stepped in and did the best they could, but with a large group that was mostly visually impaired, it made things a little more confusing than they needed to be, especially when it came time to sort out everyone's food and separate checks. No one was rude, and they worked hard to make it right, but I think management could have handled that transition a little better. Overall, I had a great experience. The food was good, the prices were reasonable, and I really appreciated how welcoming the staff was to our group. I'd definitely come back, and I'd recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area.

Made a reservation not like you really need one, but we made one and was seated down pretty quickly. The host was nice and friendly and the wait staff said hello to us within the five minutes of us seating. I appreciated how family-friendly this place was, they give these cute little animal boxes with different things inside and crayons to keep the kids entertained. The decoration is fun with a lot of outdoor vibes and stuffed real animals. They bring out a side of chip and a yogurt dill dip that's interesting, a fun idea. The food, mhm so we ordered a lot! Crab dip: 2.5/5 not too bad but not memorable, okay amount of crab, flavors were too heavy on the cream cheese/fillers but just okay, they need more bread with it but the chips helped. Prob wouldn't order again Crab cake: 3.8/5 pretty good size and good amount of crab and good flavor probably the best dish that we had ordered here! Would get again. Burger: 3/5 granted I did order this medium well for my kid, but the burger was charred a little too much around the burger, giving it a sort of dry crunch on the edges and charcoal burn vibes. Not my favorite texture that I would want on a burger, but perhaps it would've been different if I ordered a medium? Bread itself was a little stale/crunchy which I did not prefer how it was cooked/prepared. Overall, it was just okay. Ribs: 2.5/5 the ribs were half off ribs so I decided to go for it because of the good deal. But it was just okay, being that Blackhog barbecue is right next-door (thier dry rub ribs are amazing), I would hope that they would step up their barbecue rib game. For a " full rack" there were only nine bones and seemed a little smaller than what I'm used to. It's very heavy on the sauce which I didn't think was the best pairing and wasn't the best flavor bbq sauce. Overall, I wouldn't order it again. Steak kabob: 3.2/5 this was actually pretty tender for the cut of meat, I'm surprised that I didn't have to work for it so I was happy about that! The only criticism that we have is that the meat itself did not have that much flavor or seasoning and there's only one skewer of meat and one skewer of veggies. Meaning the total amount of meat that was probably on that dish was no more than 4 -5 ounces of steak. And for that price point, I would want a little bit more meat. Mac and Cheese: 3.5/5 pretty good for a kids Mac! Good cheese and flavor was impressed! Overall, the service and the host in the experience of being there was pretty good, but the food was a little lacking not sure if I would go again, but it was on our right experience in terms of food
