Biscuits and gravy, home fries, and two over easy eggs for $8.79!
Richard S.

Was in the mood for some biscuits and gravy. Since my favorite Brookland spot Murray & Paul's don't have it on the menu, I decided to give Brookland Grill a shot. Love this classic, greasy old school diner. The staff member working the register was super friendly. Food was delicious and crazy cheap. Please give this neighborhood gem some love so they don't go out of business and get replaced with a damn chain store.

Scrapple Egg and Cheese Sandwich

He had drove pass this place on many occasions and we were discussing breakfast and boom, we landed on this place. When you walk in, there's a nice crowd and they're busy taking orders and cooking up tasty food. The menu has a ton of options to chose from. Because I'm notoriously greedy, I snagged the scrapple egg & cheese sandwich AND the biscuits and gravy and he had the waffle platter. Everything was delicious, flavorful and reminded you of Sunday breakfast.

A nice breakfast spot that give you a good amount for a low price, but unfortunately the taste isn't as good as the convenient portions. I got the sausage with 2 eggs option which comes with grits, potatoes and 2 pieces of toast for about $10. The grits had no flavor at all and the potatoes were ok. The toast has jelly already on it, but they didn't put much on it. Parking is difficult because it's on a street that has a decent amount of traffic. You might luck out and get parking right in front or near, but you'll more than likely have to park a a block or two away.

This place is divey (I mean REAL divey) but they whip up a mean and hearty breakfast. With so many delicious breakfast staples on the menu, it was kinda hard to choose. I decided on the Waffle Plate: a Belgian waffle, turkey bacon, turkey sausage, and scrambled eggs and cheese and it was great! Everything was cooked to order, just the way I wanted it, and the wait wasn't long at all despite there being a few customers ahead of me. Definitely coming back to try out the rest of this menu.

French toast, turkey bacon, and homefries. Huge portions! All delicious!

I have passed by this place several times and never thought anything of it. Until, that is, I was craving french toast. Decided to brave the DC summer heat and walk over. There wasn't anyone in the restaurant when I arrived so I was able to order right away. I ordered french toast (that craving was strong, let me tell you), turkey bacon, and home fries. My total came out to just over $10 which I thought was very reasonable for all I ordered. The restaurant itself is what some would describe as a "hole in the wall." It definitely looks a little run down, but I find the best food comes from these types of places. There are 4 tables with 4 chairs each inside, but they pack everything in to go containers. It seemed like a very small operation, as only two people were there: one taking orders, one cooking. When I got home and looked at my order I was blown away! The portion sizes were huge! Massive! The french toast came with SIX pieces, there was about the same amount of bacon, and the home fries were loaded to the top. Everything was delicious, and I could only eat about half in one sitting. Essentially, two meals for $10! There's nothing to complain about here! One suggestion, call to order ahead. It did take them a little bit of time to cook up everything. Very fresh, but if you're working on your patience, do yourself a favor and just call beforehand.

Great spot for cheap eats. Ordered the French toast which was very nice in flavor. They also gave me a bunch of Turkey bacon which was also good. Overall great amount of food for the right price

Cheap, delicious, filling food. Nothing more you can ask for from a good breakfast place.

Tiffany's Bar and Bistro - Seafood platter for two

Tiffany's Bar and Bistro

Breakfast at Tiffany has always been a classic film, but pairing that iconic name with royal…read moreOttoman family recipes takes the experience to another level entirely. We stumbled upon this new restaurant on the H Street corridor 8th street--a neighborhood that can feel a bit rough around the edges--but what we found inside was nothing short of a true gem. The moment we stepped in, we were stunned by how beautifully designed the space is. The décor feels warm, elegant, and thoughtfully curated, offering a calm retreat from the busy street outside. But the real magic arrives on the plate. Every dish we tried showcased fresh, high-quality ingredients, layered flavors, and a clear respect for the rich culinary heritage of the Ottoman and Istanbul royal family traditions. You can taste the care and legacy behind every recipe. This is not just another brunch spot--it's a place where history, culture, and freshness come together in a way that feels both authentic and elevated. They have both the upstairs and downstairs of the building. Upstairs is a great social gathering with a bartender and the back patio is nicely renovated that can host pet in the summer months. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely proud of what the restaurant offers. It's rare to find a place that surprises you in all the right ways, but Tiffany's Bistro & Bar does exactly that. A beautiful concept, executed with heart. We can't wait to come back.

The restaurant business is tough, so I drafted this review with a bit of sadness. I had a good time…read morein large part due to the atmosphere and my date (my girlfriend). That said, a couple missteps that should not have occurred took this review into the negative realm. Let's start with the positive. This appears to be a great new addition to the neighborhood, and I hope it is supported. The appetizers were delicious and nicely presented. The pistachio feta with grilled pita was tasty and interesting. The halloumi with orange marmalade was as well. The hostess was engaging and friendly. The atmosphere was calming with a touch of casual refinement. One of the entrees was delicious (the scallops and grits). I'd order all three items mentioned so far, again. The negative. The second entree was the short rib. It was tender and.... Wow, way too salty. A shame because it was otherwise well cooked and nicely plated. But whoa. When the hostess came by, my girlfriend kindly said it was a bit salty. I "refined" her answer and said she was being nice, but it was very salty. The hostess went to note this for the kitchen (a positive for her), and because we are on the first floor outside the kitchen window I heard the conversation. The chef responded that he knew what had happened. Earlier when preparing the short rib someone (in his words) blasted it with salt. What this tells me is that they knew they'd made something close to inedible but served it anyway. At the end of our meal we had leftovers of the two apps and the short rib. We asked for a bit of extra pita to take home and they provided. Then the bill arrived. Not only was there no adjustment for the inedible short rib, but they charged us $2 for the pita. The least they could have done was just given us the pita. Ah well. Those two missteps; 1) serving a known and improperly prepared entree, and 2) not doing something to make good when reported, have led to this sadly negative review for a place that could and should have gotten a positive one. Hopefully someone there will see this, and the experience and review will be a learning opportunity that will help them thrive.
