Being closer to Ktown has let me trying multiple spots for Kimbap it offered. Kingbop's located in a plaza with other retailers and the spot easily stole the crowd's attention with rich selections of menu and great value for price. Before looking at the actual dishes, I for a sec thought it's kinda pricey compared to other kimbap places around but once I saw the foods serving size, it made total sense. We dined on the spot and needed to wait a bit to get seats as they're full-house and there weren't plenty of seats. Humble setting yet serving the purpose. We got their honey soy garlic fried chicken and k-pepper tuna kimbap. The boneless chicken were perfectly crispy and we love the flavorful seasoning! i came to kingbop to try their sushi tacos that have become popular thru tiktok. i got the spicy tuna, the salmon, and the shrimp (which also has imitation crab meat). these 3 totaled out to about $32, which at first i found to be really pricey. however, after seeing the size of the tacos and how filling they were, i would say it's not a bad price. my favorite out of the 3 was probably the salmon. they were very generous with the amount of salmon they gave and it tasted really fresh, with just the right amount of sauce. i also enjoyed the shrimp taco, which i didn't expect to like so much, but it was super flavorful! i didn't really like the spicy tuna taco just because i prefer a mayo based spicy tuna. although they did have spicy mayo drizzled on top, their spicy tuna itself seemed to be pepper based. i'm sure some enjoy that but i personally don't, so i didn't like the tuna taco. despite enjoying 2/3 of the sushi tacos, i probably wouldn't come again. i noticed after my first sushi taco that the fried shell started to become overwhelming, and eventually, all i could really taste. by the time i got to my last one (the salmon), i threw the shell out and just ate the contents with some rice. additionally, my friend got the pork belly taco and that one was really not good. there was so much grease that had accumulated so the whole taco was inedible. overall i think this is a good place to try, and i'm glad i did but i probably won't be a regular at kingbop. read more

This place has been viral so I decided to drive out and try it! The sushi tacos are about $10 and some change and they have a great variety to choose from!I went close to opening so no rush or lines. The beef belly and unagi tacos were delicious the flavors and ingredients were so good! Definitely worth a visit at least once! I will be back! I was in DTLA looking for a solid lunch spot and had a couple of places saved on Yelp. Ok, I admit I have tons of saved places on my "to try" yelp lists. First stop I tried (Holbox)...which had a line around the corner, and the second spot I wanted to try was Chuy's Tacos and it's closed on Sundays. I ended up at KingBop about 15 minutes away...and honestly, that worked out pretty darn well to quench my "Taco" craving. It's tucked into a dumpy little strip mall, so don't come expecting much atmosphere. This is more of a fast-casual, self-service kind of spot where you can order on the tablet or at the counter, then wait for your food. The seating area is small, and I had to wait for a table to open up. Parking was also a bit of a battle on a busy weekend around 1 p.m., but that's LA being LA. The sushi TACO's, though? Really really good. I tried the pork taco (good) and the ahi tuna taco (my fav). The shells are crispy seaweed with a tempura-style crunch, so they actually hold together and give you that great taco bite. The flavors were fresh, the sauces were on point, and the whole thing worked way better than I expected. Thx Yelp for another satisfying Taco treat. They have a deal where you get $3 off if you order three tacos, but I only grabbed two. They're a little on the pricey side, but they were filling enough and worth it. Two tacos hit the spot without putting me into a food coma, which is always appreciated. The food took a little while to come out, but it tasted fresh and made-to-order. Overall, I really enjoyed it. Wow what a concept! My girlfriend and I decided to try this trendy spot and were greeted by a line out the door of other curious foodies excited to get their fill of sushi tacos. I wasn't sure what to expect upon arrival but liked that they had options to order at their digital kiosk if clankers are more your thing vs ordering with a human. We waited in line for maybe 10-15 minutes before placing our order at the helpful robot and quickly snagged a table as real estate was precious in their tiny dining space. While their staff looked mostly efficient pumping out to-go orders, sadly our beef bulgogi kimchi fries really held up our order. It appeared that although our sushi tacos were ready quickly, the Fries were ready almost a whole 20 minutes later. We waited maybe 30-40 minutes for our order to come out. I was obviously a bit bothered, but understood that they had more orders coming in than they could possibly handle. When we did end up taking our first bites I was astounded. Their exciting flavors, chunky portions, and fried seaweed provided a bite I had never experienced before! Honestly so worth it. Wow! Talk about trying something completely different that I've never had before. The best way I could describe it is like eating a sushi roll inside a crispy seaweed taco. I've been hearing about this place on social media for a while, so I finally stopped by to see what all the hype was about. They've got seven different crunchy sushi tacos to choose from including Grilled Beef Belly, Unagi Crab, Grilled Pork Belly, Calamari, Spicy Tuna Crab, Salmon, and Shrimp Crab. I went with the Grilled Pork Belly Taco and the Salmon Taco. I still don't know how they make that seaweed shell, but it's awesome. The outside is coated with a light crispy batter that gives it a nice crunch, while the seaweed underneath still has a little chew to it. It's a really unique texture that somehow works perfectly. The Salmon Taco was loaded with fresh salmon, thick slices of avocado, sesame seeds, and crunchy tempura flakes on top. Every bite was fresh, creamy, and had a great mix of textures. The Pork Belly Taco was packed with tender grilled pork belly, topped with spicy mayo, fresh jalapeños, and sesame seeds. It had just enough heat without overpowering the pork. Both tacos were stuffed with a generous amount of filling and rice. Honestly, one taco could be enough for a lot of people. After finishing both, I was definitely full. This is one of those places that's doing something completely different, and they pulled it off. Everything tasted fresh, the portions were generous, and the quality was there. I ordered pickup pretty late in the day so didn't have any issues parking, but keep in mind that the lot it's in is pretty small so parking may be difficult. We tried the thinly sliced pork belly, fried shrimp, eel, and tuna. They also offer options like calamari and others. The tacos themselves were fantastic. The pork belly especially stood out with really good flavor, and they're generous with the amount of protein they put into each taco. The tuna was probably the weakest of the ones we tried. It sounded better in theory than it actually tasted, so I'd probably skip that one next time. Everything else was excellent. The biggest downside here is honestly the parking and the layout of the location. Parking is rough. The strip mall is tiny, street parking nearby is heavily restricted, and there are a lot of red curbs and permit-only areas. I ended up parking across the street and walking over. A lot of people were double parking too, which made traffic even more chaotic. Inside, you order from a digital kiosk, then wait in a very small dining area for your food. The restaurant was extremely busy even on a Tuesday around 1 PM. I actually felt bad for the people dining inside because the tables are packed tightly together, and then you have customers standing around between tables waiting for orders. Space is clearly limited, but the setup makes it feel crowded very quickly. Waiting outside wasn't much better because there's a dumpster nearby that smelled pretty bad, especially in the heat. That said, once we got the food, grabbed napkins, and went back across the street to eat in the car, the experience immediately improved. The presentation was great, and they even use styrofoam containers with built-in slots that hold the tacos upright so they don't spill or fall apart during transport, which was a smart touch. This place was trending on socials and for good reason. Had to get my hands on their viral sushi tacos and boy they did not disappoint. Run NOt walk. You won't be disappointed. First of all, these tacos are HUgE. The outer layer is a super crispy seaweed shell that is packed with sushi rice, and your choice of toppings. I ordered their spicy tuna, salmon, and their spicy bulgogi tacos, and they were all fabulous. Spicy tuna taco-sushi rice with a pretty hefty load of spicy tuna and avocado slices on top. Fantastic. Salmon taco: sushi rice with a good portion of fresh salmon sashimi bites and avocado slices. This was good too, and apparently one of the popular tacos. Spicy bulgogi taco: sushi rice with a very good portion of Korean BULGOGI meat, and topped with jalapeño slices which really made this dish. Highly recommend. They also make various kimbops as well. Ordered the egg blob kimbop which is scrambled eggs, diced carrots, lettuce and avocado. Very good. There were so many different types of Kim-bops I would just love to try (apparently they're known for their kimbop before the tacos blew up on social media). They also had other dishes such as the Tteokbokki. Got to come back to try them all...but would come back for just their tacos. We were looking for something to eat for lunch and I found this place on Yelp. My youngest son loves kimbop so I suggested this place and of course we ended up going. We were so overwhelmed because there's a lot of great options. Their kimbops are a really nice size, so 1 is pretty filling. We ordered for pick up and when we got there our food was already ready with no wait time. They have other items other than kimbap also in case you're not a fan. I did see they have sushi tacos here and if we were not in a rush that day, I probably would have ordered them because they looked amazing. Price is not bad, the restaurant is clean inside. When we visited it wasn't busy, so if you're looking for a place to eat that isn't too busy then this is it, the downside is that there is literally no parking. I wanted to try a bowl from the menu but I was told they no longer sell the bowls. I had the spicy tuna sushi taco which was very good. Really wanted to like this place but the food was extremely salty and really expensive. Each taco is about $9 on average.. really expensive! Got the wings, tacos, and kimbap to try as much as I could. Honey butter wings were over seasoned with dry coat of powder. It tasted very industrial with honey powder and not real honey. The tacos would be better you would be able to get a bite of the meat, imitation crab, and rice in one chomp, but it's nearly impossible due to the shape/size. So that's why it taste so salty since you're eating just pure sauced meet or imitation crab. The kimbap was the best thing in my opinion. If it had a little less eel sauce, it would've been perfect. this place has been on my try list forever and i'm glad i got to check it off. it was pretty crowded at 5pm on a sunday and the shop itself isn't that big, and there isn't much seating so we just took it to go. there is a tablet to take your order and there is a bit of a wait. the parking lot is also pretty small but we were able to find street parking. the menu had a lot of variety and i'd def wanna try something else from there another time. tried the viral sushi tacos and got unagi, pork belly, and tuna. unagi 4.5/5: definitely my favorite out of the 3. the unagi sauce was so good but i felt like the deep fried flavor was a bit over powering, and i realized i just don't like it deep fried LOL pork belly 2/5: i did not like this one at all tbh. a ton of oil from the pork belly pooled at the bottom and the flavors of the deep fried bits just did not complement the pork belly and rice. i felt like it was better just to take it out of the shell and eat it on its own. spicy tuna 4/5: the deep fried bits were overpowering here again and i couldn't taste the tuna much, but it was still good. overall it was good to try but i probably wouldn't want to get it again. read more

Relativity affordable Korean soul food with fusion twists, Some may find it as a one-time novelty experience. Parking can be tricky in the area. You guys, definitely a hidden gem in LA. Their best 3 tacos combo is top tier. Got the beef belly, pork belly, and salmon! I've been seeing the place every time I go to the Chinese place across the street from this, but I decided to switch it up today. I looked at some reviews, and everyone seemed to like the sushi taco. Location/Parking: Washington/ Western is a pretty busy intersection, and there's a strip mall on every corner. The parking lot was small, and it's located right next to the Insurance place. There are also two bus lines you can take to get here. Inside/ambiance: I couldn't take pics, but it's like a typical small fast-food joint with a few tables and chairs and a cute yellow interior. The place gets really busy (don't worry, it's not community good busy) because some people said they saw the sushi tacos on TikTok. Friendly Staff too!! Food/Price: In addition to sushi tacos, they also sell other Korean fast food like Budae Jjigae, kimbap, and Tteok-bokki. I ordered the 18-piece boneless chicken with flavors and a crab-shrimp sushi taco just to try them out. The total came to $50. They have 6- and 10-piece options for less. I didn't get a drink, but they offer canned sodas or drinks like lattes, match, and other refreshers. Overall, it's a bit pricey (like most LA places), but I will definitely come back and try more dishes on the menu. P.S. They have a small kiosk in there if you don't wanna wait in line to order. read more
