Oh boy. Not sure what happened but hard No to Kings. Took a long time to get a server. Then they gave our food to the wrong table and they ate it! Which in retrospect was fine because most of our food was inedible. The chicken was incredible dry. Like chicken jerky. The soup was tasteless. The noodles in the vermacelli were over cooked to mush. If you've never had fresh, house made noodles, DON'T. It will ruin you forever. I was craving other types of food that day so I didn't get any soup. I know, I know. I was at a noodle house, I get it. I had a dumpling craving and as part of my group grew hungrier, I grew hangrier (hungry + angry). I ordered fried pork dumplings and chicken wings. The dumplings had a thinner skin than I prefer and the sauce was sweeter than my liking but it was still better than most. The chicken wings were heartier and a larger portion than I expected. I thought for around $5 for each dish, I would still be hungry afterwards. I wasn't. I had to box up half the chicken wings to go. My kiddo was in a fickle mood and settled on the chicken skewers. For $2.75, you get two skewers which was perfect for a 9-year old. The flavor was really good - there was a bit of a spice rub on it and it was cooked very well. My kiddo gave it an "A+." Before you admonish me for not eating actual noodles, calm down. My friend ordered chow mein. What I liked about the dish was that you could choose from a variety of noodles. The noodles were hearty, filling, and the texture was pleasant. You can't compare fresh noodles to plain old noodles. As I said before, if you haven't had it, it will ruin you forever. You will be like Po in Kung Fu Panda - having the "noodle dream." It wasn't terribly busy when I was there. Staff members were working hard. Two people were preparing silverware. One person was hosting. Kitchen staff busily pulled noodles and prepared other dishes. Runners from the kitchen came out with steaming plates. They were very attentive. In fact, as I was eating my chicken wings, I put my second wing down and someone ran over to see if I needed a take out box. I smiled and said I wasn't done eating yet. The King Noodle House is a spot we went based on Yelp reviews. I have been there a few times now, and each time has been a satisfying and delicious experience. They really don't make anything that requires a dough until you order it. I mean from scratch.... If you order noodles, within minutes this chef is back there mixing the dough from raw ingredients, kneading, pulling, and other things I do t know how to put into words because I have never made noodles in my life... I buy those dried package kind and boil me up....cause I'm that fancy, but this guy is a master artist! Also, the noodles he makes taste really good.... Not like a plain noodle.... But like a FANTABULOUS noodle... I could eat the noodles by themselves....it's like crack noodles.... HOW CAN A NOODLE BE LIKE THIS??? I don't know but I like it. So last night I decided I can't really be honest about this place unless I try something non noodle, cause maybe he is just a noodle savant...but NOPE! He's an all around spectacular Chef who deserves to be celebrated. I ordered General Tso's chicken, because although this is not a true Chinese dish, it is in fact a way to judge the passion of one who makes it. Let me tell you how he made it.... The chicken was all white meat, premium cut, never been frozen bird. It was cooked to perfection, Juicy, and flavorful. I might even say it was organic, but I can't know this....but in my mind it was, cause this is my review and I'll say it how I like. The batter was delicious and had been applied exactly one second before entering the wok....the ripples in it tell me so. The sauce has to have been made from scratch as there were components in it that seemed to be made of fresh finely chopped herbs and vegetable components. Not too sweet, just right, not too spicy, although I wish I would have asked for spicy, because I love spicy. But it was delicious. Most Chinese restaurants use dark meat because not so good cooks rely on dark meat chicken to forgive their inept ability to cook the perfect chicken dish....not here. Finish it with fresh broccoli, cooked just to the point of the perfect tenderness and you have the ultimate GTC. I also had a side of fried rice. It wasn't the fried rice you're used to, that's already been doused in soy sauce to hide the burnt flavor of junk oil....this rice was so hot, still white, fresh veggies that weren't frozen, barely tender, and flavorful. It was better than my fried rice, but this isn't about my cooking is it? I just think you should go and try King Noodle House. Just be sure not to make it so I have to wait long next time I visit... I think we should have a lottery system so that I never have to wait. The service is excellent, very attentive, not intrusive.... The servers are always scanning the tables from their post. The price? Vey reasonable.... In fact I think maybe they aren't charging enough. I only say this because this leads to why I only gave them 4 stars. The ambiance is ok...nothing stellar, just very plain, no frills. No little tea cups and teapot, nope, just a coffee mug with hot tea brought out as you ask for it. I think if they charged a bit more....maybe they could enhance the dining experience and become THAT place.... The one you go to to celebrate the firing of your terrible boss, the one you go to when you celebrate your adult children no longer living with you....the place you go when you want to impress in laws....yes! Charge more and decorate! Our 2 entrees, crab Rangoon order ( real fresh crab, of course) and fried spring roll was $28 and some change. My girlfriend discovered this place not long ago and we have become semi-quasi-pseudo-regulars because this is such a pleasant experience: simple decor, nice staff, and delicious food that has NOODLES and is also pretty light and healthy compared to a lot of other restaurant food, and it is really affordable too. The added appeal here is that there is a big window through which you can watch the cooks make the noodles by hand, and it's fascinating to watch! And it's loud too...lots of whipping and pounding and stuff. Noodle dough really gets its ass kicked. If you're getting a soup, (which we always do), you can make your own combo of ingredients from a wide range of choices...there are many broths (including veggie, which is not listed but you can write it in when you're filling out the little card) and like a dozen or so different types of noodles, lots of fresh herbs, veggies and mushrooms, and proteins like tofu, seafood, or land meat. I don't think I've had the same exact combo twice and I plan on working my way through all of the different noodle possibilities because noodles are soooooooo goooooooooooooooood. read more

I'm a very picky eater when it comes to quality. I'm that customer that will return a meal if it doesn't fit my standards. This place, however, is a hidden gem. The noodles are so soft and full of such subtle flavor. The meat was perfectly tender, not chewy. The prices are great, especially for the quality you're getting. I've never had a pork bun with so much moist flavor; it was like a burst of juicy BBQ in my mouth with a slight crunch of crumbled peanuts and fresh herb. I spent $50 at this place just to try a variety of dishes; each one was 8 out of 10 or higher. Their Americanized Chinese food is a bit more authentic than most other Chinese places which is something I thoroughly enjoy. It's not overly sweet and they give you an option for your level of taste when it comes to spice. So it's safe to say I'll be returning to the King of Noodles. I only had egg noodle and the other person had udon so we didn't try their hand shaven noodle anyhow. What really was disappointing was to see: 1) the bowl is huge but mostly broth, 2) for 7.99 that's not cheap in Everett, 3) their wonton was the nastiest wonton I have ever tasted and 4) I saw the kitchen but in a bunch of chicken seasoning into the "broth" that just mean that thing is full of bad stuff! I can taste it in the broth. I also chose the spicy soup and it came out so bland and not spicy at all. I had to add salt and a bunch of chili oil! So glad we gave it a chance. I was feeling under the weather with the start of a cold and usually Hot & Sour soup will clear up my sinuses for some reason. Hub and I were looking for Chinese food and not really a good selection near us...so we thought! Found these guys and called in an order for soups and chow mein to go. Very nice on the phone and it was ready when we got there. Soup was some of the best I've ever had and I usually hit up Chinatown in whatever city I'm in so I've had a lot. Lady at the counter was so nice and gave hub the Noodle menu too. CAN'T WAIT to go back for that. Their Hot & Sour soup did the trick and helped me divert a nasty cold! Lol. I've been here several times and its a great place for noodle soup, especially or a north end Asian restaurant. The noodles are so fresh, they literally melt in your mouth. The pork burger is tasty (but fatty), and I love their fried tofu! The duck is pretty impressive, low on fat, but still very moist, though they seem to reserve bonier pieces if you order it in your soup. Cons: the service can be a bit sketchy. The last time I was there with three others, we had to ask for beverages 4 times. I'm not exaggerating. Then when we paid, friends left cash, boyfriend used a card, she came back with the cash and everything charged to the card. To top it off, she tried to pocket $40 in cash as her tip. Nice location with plenty of parking, these fine folks are next to our fav Thai place, so this might require a coin flip on which place we visit. Gotta thank my YELP peeps on this one, man were they spot on! Menu items during this event: Salt and Pepper Calamari, Veggie over crispy noodle, Pork Fried rice, Singapore noodles, Mapo tofu, and our youngest opted for some soup noodles. 3 items truly note worthy, the S/P Calamari was listed under apps, but the portion size was HUGE! Crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside, well cooked with a little spice, it could have used a bit more ka-pow, but the calamari was excellent. The veggie over crispy noodles were served an amazingly simple brown gravy, our server asked if we wanted to add any "meat" or "seafood" but we wanted to try this on its own. Gravy flavor was solid, and the nice mix of fresh veggies were cooked to perfection, not left "raw" and not overcooked to mush. Our youngest wanted Won-ton noodles, there is a bit of confusion regarding soup dishes, the menu has a few soup selections offered, Won-ton being one, but our server kept showing us their "soup" menu. It actually ended up being fine, you pick your soup base, type of noodles and 2 items/meat/veg. We opted for chicken based soup, udon style noodles, bok-choy and won-tons. The soup stock was STELLAR! A nice clean chicken flavor with a fresh ginger under tone, it was delightful. The udon-style noodles were made to order, you get to watch his majesty hand pull the noodles, it was a great show to watch from a window that showed the kitchen, and the flavors were very enjoyable. The noodle bowls are huge. Definitely enough to share! Went with the beef tendon and Chinese cabbage. It was sooo good! The beef was so tender. no tendon that I have ever had before! Just loved the noodles. They hand you a paper which you can mark off what you want in your soup. You can see someone making the noodles too. They give you a view into the kitchen. I had the hand pulled noodles and it was very tasty. You definitely get stuffed and a big bang for your buck. Have returned 3 more times and it just keeps getting better and better. I ordered a stir fried noodle dish with beef and it was so tasty. The steamed pot stickers were delicious too. Randomly came across this place while running errands. Minimal decor up, nothing fancy. They were pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. I was getting over a cold so I ordered their customizable soup (you pick broth, veg, & meat) with chicken broth, vermicelli noodles, boo chop, Chinese cabbage, roast pork and bbq pork. I also ordered their salt & pepper squid because why not right? Both came out quickly and were delicious! The broth flavorful and the vegetables were fresh. I love this place. Well, most of it anyway. After trying many, maaany things on their menu I find that the Mongolian beef is my personal favorite. I also absolutely recommend the chicken skewer appetizer because they're so perfectly seasoned you could make a meal out of those with a side of rice (which I have, it was great). The wait staff isn't very great, they'll let you go without water for most of your meal if they feel like it. If you get take-out this isn't a problem though. I feel like some of the menu items are hit-or-miss. And I absolutely need to say that, even though you think you know what would taste good in a soup, the people making it know better. I'd advise to stay away from the "build-a-soup" option. The options on the menu have been perfected already so there's no need to experiment yourself. All in all it's cheap and tasty. The family and I dropped in for lunch on a cold snowy day and got some satisfying soup noodle with me picking the spicy szechuan broth, egg noodle, baby bok choy, bean sprout, wontons and roast pork. Not very spicy, but good comfort food. Even my son who is often not a fan of most asian food was happy with his custom-ordered noodle. Free parking, not crowded and fast service at reasonable prices. The noodles are freshly made, my favorite is the la mian. And then the beef brisket soup! The toppings has a large variety too which you can choose from and the noodles can keep you full for the rest of the day. Also their fried chicken wings are really good too. And their stir fry noodles. Most of their noodles would most like be hand made which is quite rare in the greater seattle area! First time me and my daughter ate here. All the reviews were good so I decided to give it a try. The waitress was very nice, nice place, and very cool you can see your noodles being freshly made! I ordered the beef broth with brisket and bbq pork with bock choy and green onions, my daughter ordered chicken broth with chicken and bbq pork with cabbage and bean sprouts. My broth was pretty good not the best could've used a little more flavor, but the brisket was good but not so much for the bbq pork, very chewy.
