These people really f*ing pissed me off today. Would be no stars if that were an option. Actually, the rating would be in the negative multiple digits. Years back, I can remember having egg rolls from here at parties and loving them. However, in visits over the last couple of years, I've been disappointed in the food itself. I guess I keep hoping to recapture the past, something I should know well enough can't be done. Food is just okay, although they have a steady supply of customers regardless, and they know it. Parking lot always sucks big time. I've been dragged here because of the aquarium shop several times, so to kill time I go to King ER where their sucky slow service coincides nicely with the amount of time I have to wait for my ride. I went here today seeking decent, fairly fast food since I was in the neighborhood. The stupid woman "helping" me forced me to go and order from the wrong line. Been here enough to know how to order what I'm getting, but she gave me her shitty attitude. (Also been here enough to know better, but my memory had faded over time.) Because she forced me into the wrong line, nobody bagged my VERY SIMPLE, TWO-item order. Waited over half an hour. Watched all kinds of people who came in after me get served much larger orders than mine. Got plenty of opportunity to observe the horrendously stupid, slow, and disgusting customers. Wouldn't you know it, I got to be directly behind some guy with the worst dandruff I've seen in years. I don't know why I hung around even waiting for my order after I'd already lost my appetite and my patience. I think I was so beaten down from the flea market that I was just paralyzed. As usual, after I finally got served, I had to request the sauce to go with my egg roll. Fine, I get that they won't give you EXTRA sauce at no charge, but give me what I do have coming to me in the first place, you sneaky bitch. I was so irritated, I wanted to get the hell out of there as fast as possible (45 minutes). Did I mention I only ordered TWO items? What the fuck? If you know you're this busy, hire enough f*ing help to serve your customers. Period. The bitch actually halfway apologized, knowing she'd royally f*ed up, and I didn't even make a scene. Perhaps she could see from my eyes that I would've gone postal had I had the energy. I opted to eat in the parking lot in my car where some wannabe was blasting rap music w/ lyrics about people of another race that consisted primarily of the N-word. I sort of don't understand why King Eggroll has such low ratings? We called in an order the day of the Super Bowl (We're nuts) and went to pick up our order around 1pm right as things were starting to get a little cray-cray. Pick-Up was the most confusing thing ever but we somehow managed to successfully choose the correct line and made it out of there in 15 minutes with our crispy hot egg rolls. I will say that it does sort of suck that their prices have gone up in the last 5 or so years. But we can't complain too much because we got our 24 pcs Egg Rolls for $21.88, which is still a good deal considering those things are huge and still cost less than $1. read more

A lot of my friends rave about this place, and I'm baffled. Maybe I came on an off day, but the food didn't taste right. The fried food were good (eggroll and shrimp), but greasy. The chow mein and almond chicken tasted nasty .. unlike any Chinese food I've tasted, and yes I've had plenty of Chinese food in my life. Even the sweet and sour sauce tasted "off". I would also mention the small portion of almond chicken I got, but in this case it was a plus. The Xiu Mia was not the best I've had either. The filling was chunky and fatty. Parking lot is hell. It is particularly rough trying to exit as cars tend to back up on Story with people waiting to make the right turn onto McLaughlin. Came here with my family yesterday. First off, Parking sucks here.. I find the price for an entree and two sides a little pricy for $7 but they do give big portions. Prices are super steep and the workers are extremely disrespectful. I don't know if it's just me but their orange chicken tasted like sh*t and the food seemed undercooked and cold... which later on caused me to have really bad stomach pains and diarrhea throughout the day. Literally had to repeat my order numerous times just because these two ladies Cindy and Thuy was obviously talking about us. Having a language barrier is one thing but to see them talking and laughing while looking at you says a whole lot. I felt almost as if they discriminate other races. THEYRE JUST SUPER SHADY. How do these two still have their jobs? And how is management allowing this to be okay? I'm extremely disappointed and will no longer be a customer. Very good salt peppered spare ribs. Beef with Broccoli is also good. Not bad for a fast food. I like their dessert too and I don;t know what they're called. The dessert is in this plastic container. I noticed that they have some bananas and some little beads. I love it! fried rice is ok. Try their Vietnamese sandwich in pork-it's very good. I order food from them for parties and I never tried the eggroll. I can't comment about that :) Parking is horrible during lunch time but it's close to work. so I give it a 3 stars for raising my blood pressure when I am trying to find parking and when i am leaving the place. Anytime anyone in the family throws a party at their house, we always have King Egg roll bring on the goodies. I usually don't eat eggrolls, but whenever we do get them, it's always from here. What I love most from this store is the Dim sum. Super huge sizes for a fair price. The noodles they have are a good size and comes with the shrimp cracker. My grandmother lovess those. Feel free to eat there (no tips needed because you pick up and clean up after yourself). Since they have a side door as well, it could be pretty windy if someone sneaks in so chose your seating wisely. FYI: You can go and ask for hot tea or water too. They are always busy (esp lunch time) and the parking can be a pain. Be careful not to get dinged! We're going to come back here and purchase food for the engagement ceremony. You'll sometime see me roaming around the place or sitting and playing on my dad's laptop :D If you walk throw the swooshing doors and hope to see the King immediately.....never going to happen so give up on that dream. I ordered through postmates. I didn't see their options for bbq meats, so i did a custom order for some bbq meats. The post mater driver contacted me and told me when she asked them that they did not sell any bbq meats there. I am confused, as their site and the pictures obviously show a bbq station with listed prices?? I had to opt for fried rice and egg rolls. Eggrolls were so bland and flavorless. We actually pulled into this parking lot because there was an aquarium that we wanted to visit. I pulled in and saw everyone parking just to go into this place. Turns out they have really good egg rolls and people order them by the tray. The guy in front of us order 8 egg rolls just for himself. They have dum sum for cheap too. Seems like a chinese/vietnamese menu. We tried their eggrolls and liked it. We also tried some dim sum and it tasted very good. There was a line out the door on the Sunday afternoon. We ordered a dozen eggrolls (wow that was cheap) and they were really good. Wonderfully crisp exterior and a nicely seasoned and moist filling with veggies, pork and chicken. I thought they were even better not dipped in the sweet and sour sauce that accompanied them. Since they're fried, they're somewhat greasy, I have to admit to consuming three, but they're light enough that they didn't make me feel ill. My friends and I used to frequently go to King Egg Roll during our high school years to get their super cheap lunch specials ($5/person), buy a bunch of their party-pack egg rolls and fried shrimp, and then bring them back to school to sell them for $1/each to raise money for various clubs and organizations at our school. It's definitely bigger than the hole-in-the-wall KE on Berryessa. Service is a bit surlier (is that even possible?!) but the Eggrolls and the dim sum are pretty darn good. I think they use MSG here, though. Every time I've eaten here I end up consuming 3-5 bottles of water because of the massive thirst and headache. :( I don't get that at the KE on Berryessa. They have a huge selection to choose from -- crispy, yummy eggrolls w/ sweet & sour sauce, giant and filling bun baos, a basic selection of dim sum (ha gow, shui mai, dumplings, etc.), spring rolls, Vietnamese sandwiches, whole roasted ducks, pigs, cha shui, fried chicken wings, some traditional Vietnamese and Chinese baked goods and a bunch of basic panda-expressy dishes to make cheap combos out of. Will it be the best food you've ever had? Only if you think the best burger comes from McDonald's and the best taco from Taco Bell. However, similarly to other greasy, fast food -- the flavor is there and it'll do the job for under $10. Out of everything, I would recommend the egg rolls and bbq meats the most. I've been here a couple times and took a break but came back because their prices are just perfect for the portions. For many years, I have again and again turned to this store as my first-choice place for chicken wing party trays, pork bun party trays, egg roll party trays, you name it!
