What a cool, old-fashioned ice cream parlor/candy shop! :) When you walk into this place, it feels like a shop that's from the 80s or 90s. The posters on the wall and decoration they have are really old school. My husband and I visited on a Friday evening, but there were only about 2-3 parties there (it was cold outside!). They have a HUGE selection of chocolates (more like chocolate-covered candies) and an assortment of treats. They had a section of small plush toys and themed-candies too (like Star Wars candy bars and Easter flavor jelly beans). We decided to just get a shake and share it, as an introduction to this shop. We got the coffee milk shake in "King Kong" size (32 oz) and it was REALLY BIG. It came in a mason jar and was pretty tasty too. It's a bit milky, so if you like your shakes on the more ice creamy-frozen side, I would suggest paying the extra $0.75 to get another scoop of ice cream in there. The shake is on the sweeter/sugary side, so make sure to be ready for a sugar rush! Is the such a thing as ice cream being too cold? LOL. If I could through in a laughing / crying emoji here I would. That was honestly my opinion. As you can see, I ordered a hot fudge sundae with one scoop of vanilla and one scoop of strawberry, with "hot" fudge (the fudge wasn't hot at all and this REALLY killed it for me) and brownie bits. The ice cream itself was very good, you can definitely tell that they do in fact make it. However, I just wasn't too into it overall. The movie was about an imaginary meeting of the great Martin Luther King and the infamous Dr. Dre, 200 years in the future. Directed by Ridley Scott of course. The movie was in Spanish and was called "King Con Dre" which means King with Dre. It wa so successful that they released a sequel (King Con Dre II), and opened an ice cream shop to promote the sequel (King-Con-Dre-II's). However the translation was messed up and the hyphens were removed, so the name of the place is King Condrell's. Nobody realizes that the "L"s are actually the roman numeral 2. A lot of people say this is the best ice cream and best sponge candy in the region. I disagree. Alethea's sponge candy is by far the best I have ever tasted, and Antoinette's ice cream is one of the most amazing parlors I've ever been to, and everything about their ice cream is perfection. But King Condrell's is definitely good, it's not amazing, although a lot of people think it is... but it is good. I went there on a hot summer's day and was annoyed that Yelp wouldn't let me check in (easy, tiger!) because I had been to so many places in a short space of time. The girl behind the counter was super nice (and super cute) and let me try three different ice creams before making my choice. Really, really good customer service. I tried coffee (which was good, but not amazing), salted caramel (which was amazing), and chocolate (which was also amazing). I couldn't choose between the last two, but I went with chocolate. The small is HUGE. That's not actually a good thing... I started feeling ice-cream-full after eating half of it, and then had to throw the rest away :( But if you like enormous portions, you'll be happy with this. I think one of the reasons people love this place is the massive variety they have - enormous menus with enormous amounts of choices of teas, hot drinks, cold drinks, milk drinks, ice cream drinks, candies, ice creams, and things like floats and sundaes and the like. Definitely an amazing selection, and a really lovely little place with a really cute exterior and interior. The sponge candy (which they are famous for) is the make or break item. It didn't taste quite as fresh as I'd hope... the chocolate was kind of bland compared to Antoinette's and nowhere near the standard of Alethea's. You can either order and pay at the counter or sit at a booth or table and get waited on. Their menu is quite extensive, for an ice cream parlor. They offer about 30 flavors of ice cream. They always have seasonal selections as well. They also have a very impressive menu of sundae toppings and every sauce you could ever think of. The menu has a great variety of suggested sundae combinations. You can also choose to build your own. My favorite sundae is the "Sponge Candy Sundae," which is two scoops of vanilla ice cream, sponge candy pieces, hot fudge and their homemade whipped cream. It is divine! This is the only ice cream place (that I'm aware of) that offers sponge candy pieces as a sundae topping. They are SO GOOD! Tip: Their hot fudge is okay, but their warm french chocolate sauce is much better! I would definitely recommend that substitution. I want to love Condrell's so much! And we consistently go here for icecream but I swear every time I go my order is wrong. The young man behind the counter is usually the one that waits on us. I asked for a sundae to go one time and asked if I could have the hot fudge on the side so it wouldn't melt my ice cream on the way home. The kid said no that he couldn't do any "sides." Like why? And it was jam packed full of customers, most of the tables were full. Things I love that make them stand out from the many ice cream joints in Buffalo/Kenmore: -They have table service. You walk in, you choose a table, and you sit and a waitress brings you menus within seconds, and takes your drink order, ice cream order, and brings it to you when the time is right. -if you order water, they bring a whole pitcher to your table, with as many cups as you have guests. A whole pitcher! Finally, a place that understands that ice cream makes me incredibly thirsty! Finally! -their ice creams are homemade and they have a wide selection of flavors -their menu is insanely large. You have so many options that it's unreal. Literally. -they offer two portion sizes for most menu items- Queen size (one scoop) and King size (two scoops). And it's topped with Sea Salt Golden Nuggets, butterfingers, hot fudge and real whipped cream. Shut the front door, this sundae was amazing. The dishes they serve these in look like a normal size but somehow they fill it with so much ice cream that you will be so satisfied when you leave. The toffee and caramel flavors meshed together perfectly and the ice cream, the homemade ice cream- let me just say you'll taste the difference. As far as the candy section goes, I would recommend the Charlie Chaplin- it's a gigantic rock shaped mound of marshmallow, coconut and cashews and it will change your life. Condrell's is great, a throwback ice cream/candy shop with trademark sundaes that've been around forever. Their hot fudge is home made from scratch and is the best I've ever had. I would sometimes make the drive from Angola NY to just have Condrell's ice cream. I had the sponge candy sundae and my friend had just a normal Sunday with butter pecan ice cream I believe. Must have been an off night! My wife and I went to check it out (we had been here a few years ago and were unimpressed). Ordered our ice cream for take out! There were no 'menu's' on the counter or posted on a wall other than the flavors of ice cream! My wife ordered two scoops of chocolate ice cream with sprinkles. One of the better old fashioned ice cream/candy Shoppes around. We shared a $9 super bowl (5 scoops with hot fudge, multiple candy toppings, and whipped cream) with our family of 5. We barely finished that, so can't imagine ordering the infamous $50 "kitchen sink"....16 scoops! We asked for the whipped cream on the side (because it's overpowering and my husband doesn't like it). They brought it with it on and said "sorry, can't do it on the side...but you can scoop it off." Disappointing. At that point, they should have just kept it off. This is a Kenmore landmark. I lived directly across the busy street from this ice cream and candy shop. This place was built in the early 70's, replacing a local bakery and butcher shop. As a little kid. I used to go to these shops daily for bread and meat. We could talk to the butcher and baker one-on-one. ( we also had a milk man...folks, I'm 47, however, not 100 yrs old) When Condrell's came around, they brought a "mod" hip stucco design to the neighborhood. It sucked then ..now it looks retro 70's cool and part of the old-school. But they have homemade Ice cream..fancy for Kenmore. They have the school rival ice cream dishes..a Kenmore east sundae, and a Kenmore West one..Blue devil sundae.etc... The best hot fudge on the planet. My sister worked there when she was 16-19..she loved the owners and staff. My Mom used to get 3 large hot fudge sundaes for us all, pick them up, watch a scary "1950-60" movie while we chewed through cold..super dark hot-fudge, fresh whipped cream and home-maid ice cream. Sometime, the ice cream has small amounts of ice in the mix..-1 point. And no public restrooms... The chocolate is expensive by Buffalo standards but cheap everywhere else..nice selection. Despite what anyone says, I love Condrell's! It is one of the only places that gives you the best bang for your buck. There are tons of sundaes to chose from and a lot of flavors of ice cream (Byrne Dairy and Perry's Ice Cream.) Like a usual candy store/ice cream shop it is pretty cold and smells like heaven. I usually go with a group of girlfriends when we want a PMS treat. I always crave hot fudge and peanut butter, Condrell's makes sure to give you your fix, and then some. The sundae is around 7 bucks and is well worth it. The whipped cream is made by Condrell's and tastes so thick and creamy. When I have gone it has never been busy but I'm sure that is a different story during the evening hours or on a weekend. There is only street parking so make sure you bring some quarters with you. I would have to suggest a Condrell's sundae for all of us ladies who crave sweet and tasty treats before our time of the month, sorry guys but we need chocolate and sympathy to keep us happy. **Update down below** I ordered chocolate covered strawberries Ahead of time over the phone for pick up. I ordered a half a pound. I've been ordering strawberries every Valentine's Day from them for the last 10 years. I was a little weary this year because I know that new owners had taken over and I haven't heard good things since then. I was going to go to Watsons, which candy I prefer over Condrell's.. but they didn't over the strawberries. So, I figured I'd Give them the benefit of the doubt and try them out, even though I heard they changed for the worse. When I went to pick them up yesterday I ordered a strawberry milk shake (small) and was charged over 7$! When I asked why it was so expensive for a small, the cashier said and I quote, "minimum wage went up, and so did the prices". Ok. So now we as customers have to pay your employees. Got it. Regardless it was already made so I took it along with my Chocolate covered strawberries and a chocolate covered pretzel stick with the sprinkles and left. I eat a Strawberry in the car on the way home and realize that it is hard, and NOT ripe. I gave one to my mother, and my boyfriend to test and see what they thought. There's were also Unripe. Not to mention the Chocolate covered pretzel was incredibly stale and disgusting. The only thing good that came out of that place yesterday was a milkshake that I paid a fortune for.So this morning I call and ask to talk to the owner in regards to my complaints and explain what happened. This is the most unprofessional conversation I have EVER had. You would've thought I was speaking to a child, not a business owner. The first thing out of his mouth once I finished explaining was that he wanted a photo of the strawberry. Never once said I'm sorry. I asked him where I could send a photo and send it over right away as we were still speaking. I asked him once the photo came in what he was going to do for me? He began to get extremely defensive saying that no one else had complained, and that his employees have been eating them and loved them. I reminded him I was a paying customer of for many years, and to not argue with a customer. He began to cut me off, and scream at me. I told him I would give a bad review and explain that I have a big following on YouTube and other platforms and that If it wasn't handled professionally, I would give bad reviews on all platforms. He followed up with saying I was "threatening him", and that he wasn't going to do anything to make this better. All he did was yell, and scream and cut me off. This man will ruin his business. And I will make sure that as many people as possible know about the way I was treated, and spoken to. NO ONE should EVER have to go through that as a paying customer. The chocolates were terrible and the customer service was even worse. I will continue to make sure this is known, and that he is held accountable for his actions. I advised I wanted my money back, I didn't. All I got out of that situation was some half ripened strawberries, a Stale chocolate covered pretzels, and an insanely expensive milkshake. Oh, and let's not forget the WORST experience I have EVER had from a business in my entire life. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time and money. He doesn't respect his customers. Wow! Those are HUGE sundaes! And such inventive combinations! I think I entered ice cream heaven! The place is very cute. An old-fashioned ice cream parlor with a candy shop off to the side. There are easily 100 different sundaes on the menu. Crazy stuff like Sponge Candy Sundaes and Triple Berry Cookie Crumble Sundaes and Big Brown Cow Sundaes and Cheese Cake Explosion Sundaes..... The list goes on and on..... Being kind of a purist, I ordered a black and white sundae. It was supposed to have two scoops of vanilla ice cream and one of chocolate, but on the day I was there they were (gasp!) out of chocolate ice cream. No worries. I substituted a scoop of triple chocolate (with fudge swirl and chocolate chips in it!). And, then because that substitution made me kind of frisky, I substituted one of the vanilla scoops for a scoop of cinnamon. WOW!! That cinnamon was the best I've ever had! Three (HUGE!) scoops of ice cream, hot fudge, marshmallow sauce, and clouds of (HOMEMADE REAL!!!) whipped cream. The fudge was easily the best I've ever had. Not too sweet and just the right temperature. Warm enough, but not so hot that it turned my whole creation into a melty mess. I almost couldn't finish it..... but it was SO PERFECTLY DELICIOUS that I forced myself because I knew that if I didn't I would regret it. So what if I was too full for dinner later. This is a really cute place! They a HUUUUUGEEEE selection of chocolates and ice cream. The ice cream menu is slightly overwhelming at first but the selections are good. When I visited I opted for a milkshake and a coffee, and it was good! They use real cream here, no joke. Their selection of teas was nice, especially giving the option to sniff before you purchase so you have a better idea of what you're buying. The decor is slightly dated but I don't mind it. There is a ton of seating and they have evening hours, which is good for groups and families. Service is friendly and prompt. Parking is easy in this area, which is nice since with other candy places you really have to hunt to find a spot! read more

Stopped in last night for a treat not knowing what this place really had. After looking at the menu I was blown away by how many different options for ice cream they really had. I ended up trying the kit kat attack and was not let down, this thing tasted like a home made dream. I would love to come in soon and try some of the chocolate. My one complaint is that the water made me cringe, otherwise awesome place. read more

What I really love about Condrell's is the old-fashion feel, like I just traveled back in time. When we walked in, all I could smell was a brush of chocolate sweet air. Haha! There's a great selection of ice cream sundaes to choose from. A medium size is $6 and is perfect for sharing between two people. The ice cream is just like any other regular vanilla or chocolate ice cream, nothing special. But the whipped cream is different, heavier and tastes like the kind of whipped cream you would have on a cake. It was too sweet for my taste so I had to brush it off to the side. My mom grew up in the Kenmore/Tonawanda area and she always talked about this place. I'm sure she took me here as a kid. Ever since I moved into this area 2 years ago I have been wanting to check this place out. Well, today was the day! I had a bad day and my fiancé wanted to surprise me with a little date night. I was super excited when he pulled up to this place. When you walk in you kind of feel like your going back in time, but in a good way. To the right is all the delicious fudge and chocolate. Amazing. To the left are tables and the ice cream! You walk in, pick a table you like and sit down. Someone comes over to give you the biggest menu of treats I've ever seen. They kindly bring you water to go with your ice cream. Now the actual ice cream, amazing! I got the peanut butter banana sundae. It was vanilla ice cream piled high with peanut butter sauce, peanuts butter pieces of some sort, bananas and home made whipped cream. It was just sugary and amazing. My fiancé had something similar but instead of bananas, he has small brownie pieces. The service was amazing, everyone was so kind. I highly suggest checking this place out! I've loved Condrell's since the early 90s, when middle-school huge-bangs pinned-jeans me used to meet her 7th grade BFFs here. And I loved that the place hadn't changed since probably the 80s. But the retro charm has been updated in recent years. Even so, I cannot deduct a star. The 80s blue and mauve may be gone, but the experience and quality of the treats are still excellent. Condrell's has a BIG menu of specialty sundaes with dozens of flavor combinations. It's all hard-scoop ice cream, loaded with both traditional, or creative toppings. From a basic banana split, to a sponge candy sundae, the options run the range of just about any candy you can think of. Even potato candy! (Which comes out around St. Patrick's Day.) I adore the fluffernutter combo because you can never go wrong putting PB and marshmallow together. There is a good amount of tables that do fill up at times, but usually you'll get a spot. Half of the space is the seating and the ice cream shop, and the other half is the chocolate shop. Condrell's chocolates are just as good as the ice cream. I have it on reliable authority that the Easter Bunny shops at Condrell's for our kids every year, so it must be good. Around the holidays, the chocolate expands into the ice cream area, with a great variety of displays. Including, of course, Buffalo's quintessential sponge candy--and it's sooooo good here. Chocolate is sold by weight, so if a truffle catches your eye, you can buy a box to bring home, or just buy one for a taste now. There are A LOT of chocolate types; you won't get bored working your way through the trays and trays of creamy treats. A trip to Condrell's will satisfy any sweet tooth. If you want to feel like a kid again, no matter what decade your childhood occurred in, Condrell's is a fantastic sweet spot for all kids, and kids-at-heart. read more

King Condrell's has jumped into the new era of online ordering. Of course you can just keep the traditional sundaes as intended but you can also pick and customize for your perfect sundae!!!
