A family friendly authentic Mexican restaurant !! The service was amazing and the food even better. Nice huge portions of goodness. Will definitely be my go to when I want a good burrito!

Brush up on your "espanol" if you're coming to eat here! We lucked out and had a translator eating with us. They did however have one English speaking waitress who was very kind and fluent in both languages so no worries if you don't have your own on hand... We went in for lunch around 12pm and there were about 7 other occupied tables there as well. We walked in and were greeted (the normal thing a hostess would ask) in Spanish and I gave her a clueless look. So I turned to our Spanish speaking friend and he took over from there... they have music playing just loud enough to where you have speak with a smidge louder tone to be heard. The place isn't the biggest or nicest but the food is good and extremely fast. Could be because we ordered street tacos and a burrito but regardless it came out in less than 5mins of ordering. I don't recommend the Al pastor burrito as it was just too mushy and ended up coming apart. The Al pastor itself was delicious though! The general consensus at the table was we'd recommend this place and will likely be back if in the area again.

Excellent service. Burritos are a little bit of a let down. Had eaten here twice but was not blown away like other places such as Durangos on Page ave. The free chips and salsa for me was it's saving grace. The place is on the small side so take out would be the better option. Plenty of parking.

Don't let the name deceive you. It's a Mexican restaurant. When I asked my Mexican friend, where you take your family often for good Mexican food and I'm not looking for a fine dine. I need authentic food. He recommended this restaurant. As soon as, we entered and before even we settled. The server surprised us with complementary tortilla chips and salsas. Server is kind enough to get me a tomatillo salsa (green one) . Not only that, she stayed on top of refill. We are overwhelmed. We had below items Chicken fajitas: Ample quantity. Felt like chicken is little dry. Different from familiar sizzlers if you compare with other Mexican restaurants. Burger with fires: Nothing special. Typical as the name says. I know, not me. My that picky friend. Street tacos : Chicken , beef and Al pastor. Yum and cooked perfectly. Sope: traditional Mexican dish. Fried masa base with toppings. I've to to honest. With my minimal Spanish understanding I thought it is SOPA(soup). Seems like I scored a A in my Spanish test . SOPE is different. Anyways I like it. Came with chicken , cheese and lettuce toppings. Nice ambience as well. It's a shopping complex. So no issues with parking.

In a random breakfast craving, my partner and I decided to go King Burrito. I heard about it on someone else's review of it. It's one of those places where you can sit yourself so we sat ourselves at a booth and glanced at the menu. She ordered a breakfast platter and I got the California burrito. Wanted to get a basic meal before we dive into the other options. My burrito was a good size, I loved the tortilla used, and the price was reasonable. I would recommend it. I have to try the lunch/dinner options. (Also, they had a seasonal Mexican chocolate drink i didn't get to try, but next time...I will)

My Dad and I always come here for breakfast or brunch because we love their food, and I highly recommend their steak quesadilla and strawberry aqua Fresca. The restaurant had beautiful holiday decorations, and as a bonus, they gave us a complimentary sample of their pineapple Agua Fresca. The service is always excellent, and Dad orders their filling breakfast burritos or omelets. I also treated myself to a tres leches and took that home to enjoy later.

I had heard of King Burrito but had never been before. It's a dive in an old strip center at Midland and Lindbergh. My dinner date was hyping their tamales so in we went. Turns out tamales are a winter special and they didn't have any. Sad face! We regrouped. I got the Carne Asada and my dinner date ordered an assortment of tacos. The food was good. The service was spotty. There are 2 other really popular Mexican restaurants in this area that have meat markets attached and I'd probably choose one of them over this one but it's certainly worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood.

We went to KB on a Monday evening, about 6pm. The place was busy but there were a few tables available. The service was a little slow but Litzy, our server, was busy so we didn't fault anyone for that. The place is very nice looking and judging by the clientele it promised to be very good and authentic. It didn't disappoint. We got our drinks and ordered right away. The menu was nice and mostly labeled in spanish which I also took as a good sign. I ordered the mixed fajita and my tablemate ordered beef tacos. The fajitas were amazing, the vegetables seared perfectly as was the beef, chicken, and shrimp. The tortillas might even be restaurant-made. If not then I need to find where they buy them, I've never had such great ones before. The mixed fajitas are well recommended. The side of rice was also very good and the refried beans. The vegetables and sour cream that come on the plate were very fresh. The tacos were stuffed full. There were three to an order. Also very good and recommended. The bill came up to $26! That was for mixed fajitas (three proteins!) plus sides, an order of three tacos and two diet cokes. We were amazed - we've had a lot worse food for a lot more money. Through our entire meal there was a steady line of people getting take out. Very popular and we can certainly understand why. We will definitely be back again when we're in the area. This restaurant did not disappoint.

First time visiting. We were on the search for breakfast and King Burrito was recommended via Yelp. Small and quaint. Easy access located off Lindbergh. Self seating - this confused me a bit as there was no sign indicating. But the food was good and the service was quick. I ordered the traditional KB platter and my partner ordered the California burrito. A lot of food for less than $25!

My husband has been telling me about his work lunches at King Burrito, and I am always up for Mexican, so we finally got there. It's a small spot, warm and friendly, and there are clearly regulars, which is always a good sign for me. I had a burrito that was huge and a little surprising. It was warm but had lettuce and sour cream inside. Just a temperature surprise. Also the cheese was American cheese, which, while unexpected, was very good! My spouse had a monstrous and delicious torta. We decided to take home half of our food so we could get the flan. It was caramelly and delicious. The staff was quick, friendly, and efficient. I would recommend a visit.

Mexican food at its best. Chilaquiles topped with Green Chile Verde, Egg and Beans with a bit of Queso Freso is my quick fix breakfast choice. Great food. Reasonable pricing, free parking, and plenty of room to kick back and relax. Best of the Best. Enjoy! AW

Sometimes it's good sometimes it's bad. I guess it depends on the cook. I've never been to the location but I've order from a 3rd party.

The shop was a little busy when we arrived around 10:15 a.m., with about eight people ahead of us in line. Even so, the staff worked efficiently, and the wait was surprisingly short. My wife ordered a large Americano, and I went with a large house coffee. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and both coffees were served hot and fresh. I have to say, this was some of the best-tasting coffee I've had in a long time. It was smooth, flavorful, and well worth the stop. I'm glad we finally decided to give this place a try. I can't wait to stop by again for another cup, and I would definitely recommend Higher Groundz Coffee and Tea to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee and friendly service.

Sadly, I was unable to get any work done even with AirPods in. The one negative was how cold inside was. I very much so enjoyed the food that I ate and the coffee was absolutely delicious. I considered walking out right then and there, what really wanted to give them a chance since this was new to me. Upon ordering the cashier noted that the pretzel bun was out and so we switched it with wheat bread because they felt the ciabatta bread would be too much. Not even 10 minutes later another woman was ordering a sandwich and the pretzel bun obviously was out and they offered her that choices of other breads, and she said she wanted ciabatta and the same person said there was no ciabatta bread. We got our drinks and eventually our food. The atmosphere with customers had a low hum of conversation and laughter. The workers however, were quite loud and boisterous, minus the one young man who seemed to be doing most of the work and keeping to himself. For $13 I received the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant bun with chips. That's what they offer as the side. The croissant itself was hard and un edible. The chicken salad was OK if you like water down chicken salad. But when I spend $13 on a meal, I kind of expect something better than just mediocre. It lacked flavor. So for me, this was a one and done visit. I really enjoy a little café coffee shop places sadly this one has to go on the I will not return list.

Some place where I could print off copies of my zine about protecting the environment by committing minor acts of terrorism in America's forests? Turns out, it's a place where you can listen to truly random vinyl records while eating burritos entirely too good to be available in Clayton. Nothing about the latter says this part of town except for the price, which is almost like someone's cruel idea of a joke. I'd suggest that they're the best breakfast burritos available anywhere in the area, but what do I know? I've been eating breakfast burritos since the Reagan administration, when they were invented (as far as I know), but mostly of the microwavable variety. They have the potential to be the best food possible, because they combine the two other best foods, breakfast sandwiches and Mexican food, but no one seems to put any real effort into them. They're less likely than their lunch/dinner counterpart to cause gastrointestinal distress. People suspect that the reason Chipotle gives you the runs roughly every third time you visit is because of the cilantro, which is impossible to wash, but I heard it's really the lettuce. Never get lettuce on a burrito from Chipotle. If you're getting one of those bowls, why are you even going to Chipotle? You're probably already fat, and not eating a tortilla is not going to make a difference. But I digress. Upshot is primarily a coffee shop, and I think it's generally well regarded as far as that's concerned, though I'm no expert. I drink a nice, stiff six cups or so of whatever's on sale first thing in the morning and it usually ends up being the highlight of my day. I don't need any coffee in addition to that. I might get nervous. I've had luck lately with the seasonal selections at other local coffee shops that I've visited, so I figured I'd take my chances with an iced strawberry matcha latte. It seemed like it would be nice and refreshing after getting in a few miles with the homies, and damn it if it didn't hit the spot. You could see the actual seeds in it from where they must have crushed up an actual strawberry to make it, thus justifying the price, at least as far as they're concerned. They spared no expense with the burrito either. It's filled with surprisingly large chunks of bacon and avocado. Can they afford to give you more bacon because they don't cook it to the point where it starts to shrink? I like it when it's still kinda chewy, but I'm sure many would beg to differ. That must be how bacon is served in Clayton. They don't have the lovable old James bring it out to you, but I can understand, with this being 2026. It's not the lengthiest tortilla in the world, but it's stuffed to nearly overflowing with eggs, cheese, potatoes and what have you. I'd suggest bringing a date just to see if she could wrap her lips around it, but who's got that kind of money? It would have to be someone you've already been out with a few times, who's with the program, so to speak.
