It's been a while since we had lunch King Buffet at the Carson City location. When we entered the restaurant, the crowd was still pretty light but soon enough a steady stream of customers walked in the restaurant through our visit. The employees at the restaurant were very nice and efficient, they cleared our tables and topped off our drinks quickly and frequently. There was a good selection of food but it was a bit different from what I was used to but it was still pretty good and they had a good selection. Our 5-person party enjoyed a great many dishes they offered; I especially liked the two fish dishes in their buffet and all the seaweed salad I can eat from their sushi section. I also liked their coffee-flavored cake; I wished I had another stomach just eat more of it. So, in summary, we had a good lunch at Carsom City King Buffet

Came here with the family and friends. Everyone had a good time. The ambience was nice. We all caught multiple plates between the four adults and one for y'all. We pretty much tried everything. I really like the Mongolian barbecue was so good everything we could pick I chose lots of veggies and some shrimp of that protein. I feel that the crab Ragu could be cooked a little bit longer there a little under Guin but everything else was good deafly will be back. The servers were very polite cleared our place quickly. Thank you.

Today i give them a 4 only because the green beans were hard and cold and so were the french fries. Other than that everything else was great. The place was clean and cool and the staff were attentive.

I just can't resist a Chinese buffet when I'm traveling and this was another example of that. I had skipped lunch and this ended up as an early dinner in Carson City. The buffet is in good shape. Nothing spectacular but clean and restocked often. I was able to put together a decent plate of all proteins though I did pop a couple pieces of nigiri sushi on a second plate. A little on the bland side but this is an Americanized Chinese buffet so that's to be expected. Clean restaurant and my waitress refilled the water and cleared dirty plates as needed. I'd have liked to see one-use gloves out on the buffet line for safety but I was glad I had brought a couple of my own. [Review 17686 overall - 32 in Nevada - 1207 of 2022.]

Great food and quite affordable for the variety and taste. The sushi selections were quite good and not overstuffed with rice. The variety shrimp selections were excellent and everything overall tasted quite good. The staff were fast at clearing up the plates from the tables and replenishing the buffet selections. Definitely will be back for more.

Normally in the Sacramento area, this would be a 4 star buffet, of which we have tons. But here in this Carson City area, it's as good as it's gonna get as far as a Chinese buffet. We're southbound on the 395 freeway, and it just ends here in south Carson, like they didn't have enough money to get it to the outside of town. As we climb this hill I see a King Buffet sign. This traffic sucks, so let's do lunch at a buffet! I couldn't tell it was Chinese by the name "King Buffet", but that's what it was. We just swing in and plenty of parking. There's even a Trader Joe's next door. I don't see any signs of what the price is, but how much can a Chinese buffet be? Oh, OK, it's $11.99 plus tax and tip for lunch. There's 2 steam tables with food and another table with sushi and another with desserts and a stir fry station. I see all the standard Chinese buffet foods, chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, pot stickers, 2 kinds of steamed fish, green beans, fried chicken wings, plus many others. The food looked fresh at 11:30am at least. The guy was just making the sushi rolls. Sampling the wings ... I really love those fried wings! One great trick with the wings is scoop some of the sauce out of the General Chicken and put that on the fried wing ... yummers! The sushi was OK, the steamed fish was tender and the pot stickers were decent. Really, not a bad buffet as far as Chinese buffets go. I guess at dinner they bring out the seafood of crabs and shrimps, but not at lunch. The plates were cleared right away and water filled. Watching the people file in here, seems like half the landscaping crews come in here, I can see why, all you can eat food for about $11, then back out on the job. It didn't take long to get our fills, as there's no waiting lines, just walk up grab food and eat. I'll say buffets are a time saver if you just need food and get back to whatever you do. OK, back on the road southbound and down! I'd recommend this place for a quick lunch or dinner where you get to see the food before it ends up on your plate. Not really a date place.

I can't believe I have never written a review. Specializing in Indonesian food with a western twist, Tee Jay is serving up great noodle dishes, burgers, cheesesteaks, hot dogs, and one of my new favorites, Loco Moco! The Krakatoa cheesesteak is one of my favorites. Thin-cut steak, cheese, and if you like spicy, it's even better! The loco moco is what I tried most recently, and I thought the portion size was great for the price. The classic noodle dishes like pad thai and the curries are also bomb. The ambiance here isn't the best since it's located on a casino floor; however, the classic counter diner has a special ambiance in and of itself. I almost always get food to-go from here. Tee Jay is always working at this place with a few assistants, and they are a truly kind and caring staff, wanting to make the best food for their guests. Give Tee Jay's a try, you won't regret it.

If you're not familiar with Indonesian cuisine they'll walk you through it. The man working the grill noticed I ordered tofu and checked into make sure any dietary restrictions were covered, I don't have any but it was a nice touch. He also made sure the spice level was what I wanted ahead of time. I can do spicy, but probably not Indo spicy, so he kept it within my limits. I got the lumpia and tofu/egg/rice entree whose name I cannot remember. Absolutely delicious. No qualifiers like "for Carson city" or "for a casino". It was really great. They also made their own (very) hot sauce and riff on Chinese mustard. Both great. Way more than I could finish so they boxed it up beautifully. Then whammo, a surprise fruit salad for palate cleanser/dessert. Love it. Note: they have real sugar Pepsi. Whole heartedly recommend

So, my local friend wanted to take me to this Thai restaurant right down on the main street in downtown, if Carson has an actual downtown that is. We got parking right in front of the place on the main street. Inside is nice and elegant in a Thai kinda way. Nicer than a casual mom and pop Thai joint. We get seated at a nice table near the front. My friend already knows the menu, so I go with hos suggestion for the Lunch special Duck with sauce over rice. It's $22 bucks, so it better be good! He has the Thai battered salmon for around $19. Soup is included and it's just a veggie broth, though tasty. Then our lunch specials come out. Oh wow, that duck look really good. It's totally deboned, so no messing with bones at all. The sauce was super tasty. My friend said he thinks its some sort of duck juice reduction with other added stuff. Whatever, this was one of the most tasty duck dishes I've ever had. His salmon was unique, I never saw a dish like that made with salmon. The coating was very unique and crispy and the salmon not over cooked. Overall, I really liked this place. I think my crew is having lunch at one of the local casinos, I'd rather be here!

The bill came to $80 which I felt was kinda steep for 3 items, especially in Carson City. The restaurant is located on a street where there was very limited parking in front and all the rear parking is super dark so bring your night vision goggles. At least there's plenty of parking spots. When I walked in, I was surprised to see Caucasian staff members! Well I guess this isn't that different than Panda Express where you have hispanics in the front and the 1 token asian in the back cooking. I picked up my food and was pleasantly surprised to find the dishes were pretty loaded. I started dipping into my duck curry and OMG it was probably the best I've had. Not only was the flavor amazing and spiced just right, but there was a generous amount of duck! When I went to eat dim sum recently and ordered roast duck, I got a plate of duck that was mostly skin and bones. Here they actually de-boned the meat so you're getting nice chunks of flavorful, meaty duck along with fresh chunks of pineapple, tomatoes, and spices with that yummy curry over my caucasian rice (I like to be culturally sensitive). Even my wife that don't like duck really enjoyed this. So while $80 for 3 dishes may seem a bit high, it was worth it. I really enjoyed my meal here and my kids also ate all their noodles with enough leftovers for lunch the next day.

The Crying Tiger was disappointing mainly because it wasn't pre-cut. I spent about 15 minutes cutting the meat myself, which meant the rest of my food got cold by the time I could actually enjoy it. That said, the Mango Sticky Rice was AMAZING--definitely the highlight of the meal and the one dish that really stood out. Service started off a bit rough. Our server initially seemed short and not very welcoming. Interestingly, once they realized we spoke Thai and we began ordering in Thai, the service noticeably improved and felt much more friendly.
