Nice selection but the place is a dump. In dire need of a major upgrade of a deep cleaning. Food was average for a buffet but I was skeptical about the conditions. Service is way below average. The waitress didn't look at or even acknowledge me as she slid my drink on table as she slinked by. If you're on a budget this is the place for you. $11 for an all you can eat buffet and a drink but I'd have paid at least a few dollars more if they'd fix the place up! read more

The food is not worth the price, the restaurant is hot and smells of dried piss....don't waste your time or money

Today was my granddaughters fourth birthday and her fathers first day spending a birthday with her. We were going to spend the entire day as a family and end it with a nice meal. My granddaughter told us she wanted Chinese so we stopped here. It was a nice sized rustic looking place boasting a sign claiming "best Chinese food in town" so we wanted to give it a try. None of us could even eat one serving. The food tasted horrible and at every buffet table were flies. After trying to get some kind of compensation I was rudely told that flies must have came in when the door was opened. If I can give them a -5 I would . read more

King Buffet - Buffets Near Me - Baton Rouge, Louisiana

This place charged me and my boyfriend $40 for a very small selection of food that is not even tasty! Don't come in here.

Yuck I won't be.coming back nothing was good here I felt Ill when I left. I might of lost my lunch if it wasn't that I just stopped eating. Sea food is awful not fresh. I can't do it sorry read more

Omg. Ew. Ew. Ew. I love some Chinese food and I'm not picky but ewwww. Sushi was brown and warm. The guy behind the bar making the sushi was on the laying on the ground crying? Everything was cold with literally no attempt to make it seem like they care in the slightest to bring to at least room temp. We took 2 bites and got up to leave and were ambushed to sit back down. On the bright side I have a tip.. if you need service, just act like you are going to walk out before you die of some bacteria floating around the room from the raw fish they pulled out of pantry from a year ago.. that'll get them to your table asap. seriously, dont have king buffet. Don't have king buffet..You will get chlamydia and die read more

The Kings Buffet needs to be shut down. I went at 11:38 am Food was cold. Within in 15 minutes of eating I was throwing up in their restroom. I told them, was told oh I'm sorry.Nothing done to fix it. Very pricey and not worth the money. Food poisoning not a fun outing -5. read more

We drive by this place every day and there is always a crowd. The place has to be decent, right? Oh, so wrong. The parking lot had at least 15 cars when we arrived for dinner at 7:30 pm. The decor was definitely old and in need of some updates. We passed six buffet tables on our way to our table, definitely worthy of the name King Buffet. They do serve wine and beer, which is a plus for a Chinese buffet. The food... although plentiful, was terrible. One buffet table was full of cold sides. Iceberg salad, dressings, slaw, raw oysters, pasta salads. The second buffet was desserts. They were pretty much store bought pastry and some plates of fruit mixed in. There was a buffet table with just seafood dishes. A buffet with kid friendly foods like Mac and cheese, pizza and several kinds of chicken wings. The last two buffets were Chinese dishes. There was also a counter near the back with sushi and a soft serve ice cream machine. I got some hot and sour soup, snow crab legs, crab ragoons, fried crab, goyza and dumplings. The fried crab was cold and oily. The snow crab legs were cold too. I ended up not being able to eat them due to a lack of crab crackers being available. The soup was hot (as in temperature), but not sour. The filling in the ragoons was tasty, but the wrappers were doughy and greasy. The goyza and the dumplings were the only thing I ate more of. The second trip I got more dumplings and goyza and tried a few Chinese dishes: sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, beef and broccoli. I also got a buffalo chicken wing. None of the Chinese dishes had any flavor. Even the Mongolian beef, that was labeled hot and spicy. All the sauces tasted the same. The chicken wing was very well cooked and was the only thing that had any flavor. It was sweet and spicy. Kind of like honey and Buffalo sauce mixed. Two buffets and two teas cost us $35, before tip. Not sure what is drawing all the people to this place. It's not the prices and is definitely not the food. read more

I have had to stay with relatives in a local hospital, several times over the years, so have eaten here a few times. It has never been anything to write home about, but I recently stopped there to eat, took one look (and caught a big whiff) at the current state of the place, and hurried back out the door. My gosh how they have declined...not that they were ever very high to begin with. If I had eaten there I fear I would have ended back at the hospital, but this time as a patient myself! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The food was atrocious. When you walk in the sign posted said lunch is $13.99 per person- they charged us over $40 for only two people! They make you pay before you eat anything. Bathroom's trashy and smells, food was hard and appears to be left out for hours on end. Service wasn't the best- as soon as you walk in they charge you (pretty sure they charged us for a water). I really wish I would've read these reviews before going to eat here. read more

Wife was early for an appointment at Oshner, so we decided to try this place out.. she use to go to King Buffet with her mom about 6 years ago. Anyway, food was nasty.. fried rice reminded me of Spanish rice; every dish was sweet; fried catfish over cooked; I should have known any item that said "Stuffed Crab" , that was actually stuffed in an oyster shell, wasn't gonna be good.. first time for me.. and last.. the wife said it was so much better years ago.. well, it's crap now.. save your cash.. read more

It's a no for me. 10% gratuity automatically added. I hate to assume but I'm going to bet you don't want to see the kitchen in this place.

They overcharge customers. I ate here three times. The first time was in April, that was a one person lunch. When the waitress gave me my bill, I found the total wasn't right, that was 6.6 cents more than sum. I asked cashier, she told me that the tax rate increased on April 1st and I should have do the math. So I did the math on my phone. It turned out they still overcharged me 1.2 cents. The cashier gave me 1 cent back. The second time, I was with my husband for dinner. They overcharged us 2 cents more again, I told them again. The waiter told me that was the automatic result of their cashier's calculation system. I told him they should report to their boss to fix this problem. The third time, today, me and my husband's dinner, it came again. The waitress told me, "You know, we charge other customers 2 cents more than the the price we give you. Their total is $30.80. We only charge you $30.78. We have taken 2 cents off." I said: "Even though you have taken 2 cents off, the tax is still not correct. I did the math." Than the cashier sniffed:"Well, you can pay 2 cents less, but we aren't gonna welcome you next time. We closed our door to you. Never come to eat here again." I said ok. I don't mind spending 2 cents more, but I don't like to be overcharged 2 cents more. If the owner wants to earn more money he or she only needs to raise the price, which is totally reasonable to me. But they cheat customers. And they don't think they did anything wrong. If you find it and point out, then you are not eligible to be their customers. They only accept person who are willing to be cheated by them. read more

3rd time I've eaten here. Not that great several items on the buffet were cold and old. The more desirable choices were fresh and pretty good. Ice cream machine was broken. $14.99 per person so 4 buffets with waters for drinks was over $70. It wasn't worth that. read more

It has been a few years since I visited this restaurant. It was $15.00 for a adult. I found it was a bit expensive for the quality of food served. It was average quality. It has a sign best seafood buffet. There were limited options. Stone crab claws and shrimp. read more

It is expensive and the food is nasty. The place smells bad and the bathrooms are disgusting. It honestly doesn't even deserve one stare.

We had a horrible experience here at King Buffett on Bluebonnet. We arrived at 5pm to beat the chance of a crowd and we did, however we had to wait 15 minutes before they brought out any crab legs and when they did they only brought out about 15-20 crab legs at a time every 20 minutes and of course we all know how fast those go when they only put out a small portion. The restrooms were horrifically NASTY, TP all over the floors, no napkins to dry your hands and my Husband said the same of men's restroom. The took awhile to get the attention of the waitress for any service or help, of course they was fast in their feet to bring the check and retrieve payment. When we mentioned how disappointed we were with our overall visit, the manager didn't seem to care. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place. read more

My friend and I came here to have lunch, we got there right before the cut off to the lunch to start serving dinner and at 3:30 the lunch buffet ended so by the time we got up to to get more food our waitress had ran up to us and told us it was dinner time and that we had to pay extra in order to eat the food. We refused then she proceeded to tell us we had to put the food BACK on the buffet line. Then we sat back at the table and our waitress followed us back to our table and would not leave us alone. This was highly unprofessional we both left because of how rude our waitress was and it felt as if we were always being watched. If I could give the place no stars I would be more than happy to. read more

I didn't expect much because I know they don't charge a lot. A decent egg roll, shrimp fried rice, sweet and sour chicken... The place is big and there's a lot of food out. Most of it is not good. The seafood as particularly disappointing. I got the staples (except shrimp fried rice) and those were not even par. I feel bad for these folks. They have an opportunity and it is slipping away. It needs a complete overhaul (new name, facelift) to escape what just happened to me. read more

First time visiting this restaurant and a horrible experience. We stopped for lunch at noon and food was cold. Very disappointed. Never coming back, it's not worth the money. This is the reason they make you pay before you eat. I would not advise anyone to eat there read more

Disappointed. I've been coming for years, and services has been lacking more and more. Most recently, my coworker and I went their for lunch. They had fruit flies flying around the sushi area. I tried to finish my lunch, but I had lost my appetite. I brought it to the manager's attention so that it could be properly taken cared of, but she got upset and thought I was trying to get out of paying for my lunch. I felt bad for my server, because the manager told her to keep an eye on me in case I ran out instead of paying my bills. This caused her other tables upset. I left her a nice tip to make up for it. The establishment provides--provided---very good food. Unfortunately, I will probably cease to come back until certain health codes are in order. I also over heard a customer at the front complained that she was overcharging them for her take-out when clearly a different price was mentioned over the phone. Once again, poor business management. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. Oh, it's so gross. The word "disgusting" came to mind several times while we were there. Like, how is this place even still open? I was horrified. I have never enjoyed coming to this place. I keep letting my godchild convince me to take him. When I opened the door the odor of rotting fish hit me in the face. Bad, very bad, very very very bad. 2 buffets & 2 drinks =$35.12 Quality of food: refer to first sentence. Restaurant was NOT clean, buffet was old and overcooked looking and tasted much the same way. They received a great award this year. They are one of the Top 100 Chinese Buffets in America as chosen by Top100ChineseBuffets.com (or something like that). The food has been the same for the last 5 years that i have been coming here (well, it's not the SAME food, it's the same offerings...that would be really gross if they had the SAME food out for 5 years. It would have to be in giant hot wells that were seemingly bottmeless. And the smell would...I digress). That's not to say that the food is bad, just don't expect them to have something new...ever. Come during busy times and everything is hot hot hot. Slower times isn't bad but I want my egg roll crispy dammit. read more

This place needs to shut the doors! The worst food hands down. Where donI start. As I first start out, they make you pay up front now and force you to pay a 5.00 tip before you even get service. Allowing the waitress to only show up to fill drinks one time and then clear the table after you eat with dirty dishes on the table the whole time. Nobody tipped before because of horrible service. The sushi, salmon looked and tasted like a sponge, Tuna had a chemical taste and tough, the rested tasted of pure salt. The crawfish were prefrozen, boiled in just liquid crab boil and no salt or flavor with cloudy eyes. The oyster same as before and gritty like always, no difference there. The clams were mushy, and to top it off, my mother ate a coconut cluster (how can you mess these up right?) that tasted like pure dawn soap. I tasted it to make sure her taste buds weren't messed up. I could not get that taste out of my mouth. Horrible food. To top it off well over priced. I pray that Foo Chow opens back up. That is our place to go. Fresh food, fresh clean oysters, beat sushi (fresh), the highest quality and we always tipped our waiter 10.00 for their upmost quality service. They are like Ninja there. You don't even see them refill your glass lol. Straws in drink with paper left on the tip, just the beat service. Nobody had to force a tip there. Even if Foo chow doesn't open back up, I will NEVER Step place in King Buffet again. Me and our family already decided to never mention this name again. read more

Ummm.... do not eat here. It's absolutely disgusting. Honey chicken tasted like CRAP! Just gonna be real here. I tried boiled shrimp, and it was crunchy...?? Wtf! I couldn't even eat 2 things off of my plate, I fixed my plate paid the bill & walked out. Absolutely disgusting. Paid $40 to hate my food. BS!!!! & the service is horrible. I feel sick just from eating one piece of shrimp just because of how disgusting it all was. Just gross. read more

I went to this place 4 times in total. The first 2 times it was great and the last 2 times it was awful. I'm not really sure what to make of this since all 4 times I went on the same day and around the same time. I enjoy the number of choices they have on their buffet table. More than 30 dishes to try from. When it's good it's great and when it's bad it's awful. The waitress are iffy, you either get a really nice and helpful worker or one that's never around and have a smug face on the whole time. The place is a little dirty, but I don't expect much from a place that have people walking back and forth with a plate full of food all hours of the day. read more

King Buffet - Buffets Near Me - Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Crawfish are gross. Chicken teriyaki doesn't look like chicken meat. Makes me want to become vegetarian. Quite the eclectic spread; frog legs, chicken feet, crab, stuffed crab, dessert bar (soft serve ice cream reminded me of my college's cafeteria) , assorted sushi (stay far away), fried rice, lo mein, corn on the cob, chicken & broccoli, and unfortunately nothing you would actually want to consume. 1 star for the lemonade. After several glasses, I was eventually full. Question: why can't you get a glass of ginger ale at any of these restaurants here in BR?! This is one place that should really consider adding it to their bubbly collection! read more

OMG!! The worst! First they charge you when you walk in. That was when I should have left. Then walking around the buffet food sucked! If I didn't already pay I would have left. Didn't have things that you normally see at Chinese buffets. Don't waste your time. Go somewhere else. read more
